If you've been hoping to get hold of a physical copy of Streets of Rage 4 on Switch, you'll be pleased to know that the game is now available in stores and online.
Launching yesterday in the US and today in Europe, there are actually two different physical editions you can choose from. There's a standard retail version, which includes the game, a reversible cover with alternative artwork, an artbook, and a keyring, and there's also a lovely Signature Edition:
Streets of Rage 4 Signature Edition includes:
- Five limited edition enamel pins featuring Cherry Hunter, Blaze Fielding, Axel Stone, Adam Hunter and Floyd Iraia.
- Numbered collector’s certificate.
- Axel Stone's blue bandana complete with Streets of Rage 4 logo.
- 2CD Full Original Soundtrack.
- Packaged in a sturdy “Sierra” box with outer sleeve.

If you're quick, you might still be able to snag one of those Signature Editions here, although standard physical copies can already be found lower than RRP at retailers like Amazon.

We're sure you don't need us to tell you again, but Streets of Rage 4 is well worth your time if you haven't checked it out already. Here's a snippet taken from our full review:
Streets of Rage 4 is the very best the series has ever been. Its hand-drawn graphics breathe new life into Wood Oak City and its inhabitants, the soundtrack is outstanding and the combat feels better than ever. Lizardcube, Guard Crush Games and Dotemu have managed to completely modernise the look and feel of Streets of Rage, expanding on the experience without losing sight of what made the original games so popular to begin with – and the handful of additions made to the action here serve only to enhance the classic core gameplay, resulting in one of the best side-scrolling beat 'em ups we've played in a long time.

Looks good, love physical games.
I already got mine from LRG
I wonder do these have the day one patch in them?
Okay, I'll go complete it again. Jeez.
Wow i totally forgot about this gem. Played at my brothers home, but forgot to buy it for myself lol. Will do this week.
Mine arrived yesterday not played yet. Came with keyring I wasn’t expecting. Have the LRG one on order as didn’t know it would get a proper release. Will get that in the mail in a few years time as it’s LRG and they are the worst company ever. (Exaggerating but still)
I'm still waiting on my LRG order, given that I ordered the classic edition and not just the standard one.
That's the nature of ordering special editions from LRG anyway.
The LRG release came with an instruction manual and game art on the cartridge.
This version has a better cover art.
Mine arrived yesterday. Very chuffed with it! £28.95 on base.com
I just got my copy today. Can’t wait.
Nice. Was waiting for these to hit the wild.
Got my LRG copy on the mail a couple days ago. Have not opened it yet.
Yup surprisingly enough the LRG version made it before the retail one
The LRG version pales in comparison to the retail artwork
Got my copy delivered yesterday! Looks great!
Also, hoping more people will be online!!!!
Got mine from Base.com yesterday with a dope keyring and mini artwork book, which was nice for a so-called 'standard edition'.
Glad I stuck it out and waited for the physical. Been itching to play this one since launch. It's going to be the feature of my weekend 👊👊👊👊
I got my copy from LRG. I was not sure if I would like the new artwork, but I'm glad to say I have really enjoyed this game. It feels like a worthy sequel to the original Genesis games.
My LRG copies for switch and PS4 for came in a few weeks ago surprisingly with some trading cards and 2 soundtracks on disc. I'll probably buy a physical copy for my Xbox one X at some point too.
So tempted to get this even though I have completed it on Xbox via Gamepass, the chance to get this physically is great...
It's an amazing game, such a true and worthy continuation of the Street's of Rage series...
Got on my switch since day one but won’t need physical. Since launch I have probably put in around 50 hours and will no doubt be one of my games of the year! ... I go back to it every few weeks for a level or so and the combat is satisfying but I would argue the game is too long, I think it should last an hour, and also some of the enemies and bosses are super annoying. Bosses health bar too big for me, just my preference. Still I’m glad it exists and the soundtrack is ace, and yeah great fun xxx
Bizarre to not see a Sega logo on a streets of rage game.
Got mine from LRG. Which took forever to come in.
Will be picking up mine sunday.
I got my LRG copy three weeks ago. Haven't actually gotten into it yet as Friends of Mineral Town arrived two days before it, and now I've started DOS2. It might be a while before the streets feel my rage.
What a violent thing to do to a store... fits the franchise though, I imagine
Now all of the weirdos can play this awesome game.
Just bought the digital version last night. The story mode is a slog if you don’t have other people to play with. There were plenty of times that I wanted to throw my controller out the window wondering why all the enemies are not only faster than me but also seem to hit harder as well (I’m looking at you fat biker chicks and Donovan-upgrade, Z!). If they would have included the run and roll option from SOR3, I would have been okay with the challenge, but it definitely didn’t make me want to play it again (especially since lives and scores don’t carry over from stage to stage (ex. Somehow ending up with more lives than what you started off with at the end of a stage, but only for them to reset back for the next stage)).
Ordered the physical edition from LRG way back, still waiting for it to arrive in the post 😢
