Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 4th)

TimboSlice

Finishing last chapter of Agent A (thanks to a hefty sale and the recommendation from this site earlier in the week on hidden gems), TONS of Ninjala (want a better outfit, gotta grind!), and maybe a level or two of Wonderful 101 (which finally arrived from my Kickstarter backing).

Damnit... looks like XCOM2 is gonna have to wait a bit more... there are so many great games to play!!!!! My backlog is a bit impossible at this point....

Re: Wonderful 101 Kickstarter Backers Hit With Customs Charges And Handling Fees

TimboSlice

Horrible experience all around with this campaign.
What the article doesn’t mention is the fact that Platinum has all but disappeared from their Kickstarter page and has stopped replying to any comments (which they did when everything was positive) there or on their IG, and the shipping company The Yetee is also going radio silent for the most part. Nobody is taking responsibility and there are many of us with no copy at all and tracking numbers that seem to direct them to a package that hasn’t moved in over a week as of this post.

I hope someone organizes a class action suit against them. I have no idea how these things work but if it’s against the Kickstarter policy then they should be held liable.

It’s a total shame.

Re: Pokémon Café Mix Is Now Available For Free On The Switch eShop

TimboSlice

@Kalmaro then don’t play it.
Millions of people play candy crush, and this is essentially that - available for your Switch.
If you like these games, have fun, if not, no need to bash it cause you think $5 is a big deal.
And just from my playing so far, stamina bars and such haven’t even come close to an issue. I don’t see this game needing any $ investment to enjoy fully.
Regarding the pikachu for purchase, you get another pikachu version for free on your 5th login day.

I hate how people are complaining about the purchaseable pikachu. Calm down. It’s essentially a “skin” and not required to play. The game is FREE. Let people pay a bit of money if they want to, and let the developers make some money for goodness sake.

Played the game up to level 45 so far.
It’s not good.
The mechanic is a bit too finicky for my taste, you can’t always see where your icons are going or what they will touch. I think the gameplay is meant to be a bit random more than precise though, so it may just be on purpose.
Disappointed you don’t get to customize the cafe.. it just does what it wants.
It’s a nice game but not great.
Can see it being decent on smartphones during commute.

Re: Guide: Where To Buy Ring Fit Adventure For Nintendo Switch

TimboSlice

Sold mine just 3 weeks ago for a sweet $200 thanks to the shortage.
I found Fitness boxing a far better workout and with the 2 player coop it was easily the game to keep.

I’m 6’2 175lbs.
I workout a fair amount and enjoyed Fitness boxing much more. You work up a good sweat far more in FB.

For those looking for a good workout, I’d highly recommend Fitness boxing instead

Re: Poll: Should Nintendo Release A Digital-Only Switch?

TimboSlice

I would never want to abandon physical cartridges. Love having them. Growing up with NES and having my boxes and cool instruction booklets, I yearn for those days.
Also, as I do sell games here and there, I like having the option to recoup some money on games I don’t want to keep after beating them... and buying games used that I wasn’t too keen to purchase at full price.

I voted NO to send Nintendo a message (I assume this goes straight to Nintendo’s R&D department?!), although I don’t care if they’d make one, but worry it leads to them eventually abandoning physical.

Re: Transformers: Battlegrounds Rolls Out On Switch Later This Year

TimboSlice

How can you make something so horrible.
Goddamnit. People butcher this license. Make a good game!
I don’t know why someone can’t take IPs like transformers, GIJOE, HeMan,SheRa,Voltron, etc and make good games.

Very disappointed that Dreamworks never leveraged their Voltron or She Ra remakes into games.... those were amazing reboots.

Re: Random: Is This Why We Never Got DLC For Super Mario Party On Switch?

TimboSlice

There’s no reason they can’t do DLC now, right?!?!
Get to it!
A great way to bring people back.
Charge for it! I would happily pay.

That all said, MP is a great game and tons of fun when people come over. (Don’t play the board game, just play the mini games on random)
Also, every now and then I’ll go back to the multiplayer online and it’s always enjoyable as a distraction.

I don’t even know what I’d want in DLC... I guess more games? Or maybe some flushed out online multiplayer game?
Hmmmm, I think just more games. People rage quit already in online battles when I get 1000 points in that football one and they get KO’d in the first 20seconds! 😂

Re: Review: XCOM 2 Collection - Firaxis' Stone-Cold Classic Makes The Leap To Switch Intact

TimboSlice

The graphics are pretty bad I’m docked and handheld, and quite a bit of lag... but this is XCOM so it’s pretty amazing regardless, and you don’t need precision timing on controls.

I am upset and the very few face options... is that normal?

Also, the game is HARD!
I played enemy unknown till the end in normal, and halfway on the more difficult levels...

But this one, on normal, is KILLING ME.
The freaking snakes that counterattack each move and grab you from a mile away?!?! What the hell.
