Honestly, part of why I shun (for the most part) digital entertainment is that it isn't cheaper, generally, than physical media when it should be considerably cheaper. Profit margins are way higher on digitally delivered goods than physical items.
And with the current push to "not own" these entertainment items, I want to have complete control of my library.
This is very interesting to me. I assumed the Switch would just be beefier hardware, but really the same "tech". To hear it's completely different is wild to me. Hopefully this "hybrid emulation" approach pans out. I was looking forward to some games running better simply due to more advanced versions of what the OG Switch already had, similar to upgrading a PC.
I honestly don't care what the "asking price" is, or whether someone other than me is willing to pay it. It's a very rare occasion for me to pay "full price" for any game. Almost all games are cheaper later.
@Skunkfish At the time, I felt like the Switch was gimmicky and an unknown quantity. The wii U and 3ds had failed to impress, so I was only vaguely interested in what Nintendo would do next to bury themselves.
Contrarily, the visual design is about the only thing I do like so far. If it were more life-sim and less cooking-sim, I think it could be perfect (I get it, the hobbits are about food). Perhaps it will do well enough that we can get an underground Dwarf life-sim
I can see a June launch, as a matter a fact, I've been expecting it. I can't however, under any circumstance, believe there will be NO 3rd party support at launch. That's ludicrous.
My patience and lack of tolerance for Square's shenanigans regarding the physical release of the Switch Pixel Remasters paid off and I scored a physical copy for 55$. There's nothing there I don't have on one or more systems, but having all 6 in one place is nice. Considering moving them to next in my queue for a replay.
@DwaynesGames I agree, but at the time, Lucasfilm wasn't really doing much with Star Wars. Certainly not as much as they could have. It probably hadn't made 6B$ in the previous 4 years, or even previous 15 years.
I (quite litterally, like 10 minutes ago) just put Tears of the Kingdom away because I just couldn't get into it. However, I adored Breath of the Wild and spent hours upon hours farming it's secrets.
I suppose if I were to have only one Switch game, Breath of the Wild would be it.
@Olliemar28
That's the thing, what happened in the 30-60 seconds prior to this video that led to the video? Obviously the dude in the Eagles garb was being a pri** here, but what happened before that? He was obviously signaling to someone that something happened before he got all crazy.
My copy is supposed to deliver Monday. As I've already played through the PS1 versions, I'll probably only boot these up to give them a glance and then shelve them until a more opportune time to fully enjoy them.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Survival Kids (GBC)
I don't like how the kids are overlaid onto a background for the Japanese art. It's very jarring to look at for me.
Re: DOOM + DOOM II Is Getting A New Limited Run Collector's Edition For $666
I love collector's editions. I even like the quirkier ones. This is dumb. Cassettes?! Really?!? Some serious hipster bait in this one.
Re: Surprise, Palworld Dev Isn't Fond Of The 'Pokémon With Guns' Description
It's not exactly "Pokémon with knives" now is it.
Re: Zelda Wind Waker Switch 2 GameCube Release Doesn't Rule Out HD Port
One of my biggest wants is Wind Waker (and it's kin, Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass) for my Switch or Switch 2.
Re: Talking Point: Does Switch 2 Have Nintendo's Best Launch Line-Up Ever?
I did NOT remember the WiiU having that stacked of a launch!
Re: Some Fans Are Drawing Unfavourable Comparisons Between Switch 2 And Xbox One
Let them eat cake...?
Re: Is The Switch 2 A Steam Deck Killer? Digital Foundry Dives Deep
I remember obsessing over console specs back in the N64/Dreamcast/PS2 days, but now I just care about cool games running smoothly.
Re: Review: SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered (Switch) - A Solid Port Of A Great JRPG
This is one that I skipped over during my jrpg collection days. Not sure why, I was buying everything I could in those days.
Honestly, this review didn't really do much to convince me to go ahead and pick it up.
Re: Random: Feast Your Eyes On Universal Orlando's Stunning Zelda Stained-Glass Windows
Those are pretty great!
Re: Nintendo Comments On Mario Kart World's Controversial Price
They're testing the water. How hot can we frogs take it before we jump out.
Re: Talking Point: Zelda: Wind Waker Is On Switch 2 - Do You Still Want A WW:HD Port?
Yes, absolutely I do. I was more than a little disappointed that it was coming to their subscription service instead.
I'll still hold to what hope I can that it will get a "real" release.

Re: Has The Xbox Switch 2 Rival Just Revealed Its True Form?
I'm sure I'll pass on this one just like I have every other Xbox. Microsoft is still the evil empire and doesn't need my money.
Re: Nintendo Shares New Image Of Switch 2 Ahead Of The Big Day
@Coversnail My grandkids play Smash all the time like that when they bring it over, rather than bringing the dock and all.

Now I know better.
Re: Nintendo Shares New Image Of Switch 2 Ahead Of The Big Day
I think I'm more hyped for this launch than any console since the Dreamcast.

Re: Final Fantasy 9 Remake Hopes Rise As Square Enix Teases Anniversary Projects
IX is one of my favorites from the mainline series. I only hope that if they do something, they don't screw it up.
Re: Marvel Gets The Shredder's Revenge Treatment In Upcoming Beat 'Em Up 'Cosmic Invasion'
Looks great! If you haven't already, I recommend reading the Annihilation comics. Very good reads!
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Predictions - What Do You Want To See?
Ogre battle, Ogre Battle 64, Knight of Lodis, Prince of Zenobia.
Wind Waker, Spirit Tracks, Phantom Hourglass.
Not asking for much.
Re: Nintendo Direct Confirmed For Tomorrow, 27th March 2025
As per usual, I hope to see Ogre Battle (any and all) remakes, Wind Waker trilogy remaster and perhaps some Castlevania 64 love.
Longshots, I know.

Re: It's Official, LEGO Pokémon Sets Are Finally Coming Our Way Next Year
The Bluey sets that I was excited about didn't turn out well, so hopefully these turn out good for those interested.
Re: Star Wars: Hunters Servers To Close Later This Year
Completely forgot this existed. Not a big loss to the gaming community as a whole, I think.

I don't know about the "grail" status of this item. But I bet 28k is rather low.

Re: Chrono Trigger To Celebrate 30th Anniversary With "Various Projects"
Gonna go against the grain and say that this was one of thoes games that I played and just didn't get the hype. Love the art though!

Re: Warner Bros. Closes Three Studios Including Team Behind Smash-Like Brawler 'MultiVersus'
@SoIDecidedTo
The "acquisition kicks" are what put all of these companies in the position they are in.
Nintendo is smarter than that.
Re: Nintendo Highlights Four Brand New Games "Coming Soon" To Switch
My Suikoden order is set to arrive the 10th. I'm pretty excited to play both again.

They have money.

They thought it would be a good investment.
They were wrong.
Re: Random: Final Fantasy Is The Next Magic: The Gathering Crossover, Here's A First Look
@StewdaMegaManNerd
While there is MtG Arena for digital, Magic exists mainly as a physical card game.
Re: Random: Final Fantasy Is The Next Magic: The Gathering Crossover, Here's A First Look
I got back into MtG with the LotR set. Been pretty excited for this one since it was first announced.

That's one kute kraken. But is he really damp, or just moist?
Re: Retailer GAME Accused Of "Scalping" Pokémon Cards Thanks To Insane Delivery Fees
Devil's advocate: could it not be a "deliberate decision" to fight online bots and drive store traffic?
Re: Lunar Remastered Collection Physical Release Will Not Be Up For Pre-Order (North America)
I find that...interesting. I can't think of a single reason to not allow pre-orders of a non-limited item.
Re: Rocksteady Reportedly Working On A New Batman After Suicide Squad Disaster
I'm always down for a new Batman game, but I don't think I can stomach any more of WB's out-of-touch hubris.
Re: Poll: Is It Finally Time For Castlevania To Rise Again?
Yup, been time for a while.
Re: Nintendo Taking "All Possible Measures" To Combat Switch 2 Scalpers
I, too, am combating scalpers by not buying one at launch.
Re: Review: The Stone Of Madness (Switch) - An Ambitious But Unpolished Stealth-Tactics Gem
The premise sounds delightfully bizzare, but the execution seems to be a bit of a miss. Still, I may have to give this one a try.
Re: Poll: So, Were You Accepted For The Nintendo Switch 2 Hands-On Event?
@MTMike87
This is probably where I am, waiting for the first Zelda skinned console.
