For those of you not old enough to remember the wild west of PC gaming device drivers pre-Win98, let me tell you, getting a game to run was a chore. The only reason I remember this game is because of how much work I put in for years across several PCs trying to get it to run. Never did. Maybe now's my chance.
It's pretty cool! I got into vinyl several years ago (it went out when I was a teenager), but I already can't afford to buy new vinyl releases as the prices of even 90's re-releases is sky high. I never got into buying digitally, but vinyl prices are trying to push me there. Guess I'll stick with CDs.
Anyway, as pointed out above, pressing digital music to analog vinyl is silly. Pretty, but silly.
For me, backwards compatibility is most useful for running older games at better quality. Having a Lite means I /could/ keep using it and playing all my old stuff if the new console wasn't backward compatible. Just like I still play my DS.
But the prospect of a few notable games running better on the new system without rebuying is pretty sweet.
After the last article about them "not being able" to separate the garden for a standalone game, I dug out my Dreamcast to fire up Sonic Adventures 1 and 2. Unfortunately, my Dreamcast has lost the ability to read discs. However. I did find 2 Sonic A1 chaos and 1 Sonic A2 Chao on my VMUs (Along with the Skies of Arcadia ship).
I hope I have the same feelings as you when I give this a try, because I also have felt "over" the traditional Zelda dungeons.
"Find a map, find a key, find the trinket you'll need to kill this boss and progress into the next dungeon." BotW was refreshing, not sure I can go backwards.
That ultimate is calling to me. That lamp, and those maps?! /swoon.
I'd be all over this if I didn't already have these and 2 working DSes. As such, I'm going to be drawing on every ounce of willpower I can muster to resist.
Point one: AI is indeed a tool. Unfortunately, it's a much cheaper tool. Which leads to...
Point 2: What does it matter how much a game makes if you were paid what you agreed upon? It's statements like the one she made about her first gig that make AI even more appealing to studios.
I do kinda feel for these people. For my whole life, factory workers have looked over their shoulders, fearing the ever-present "robot" closing in on their jobs. Cheaper tools that can replace flesh will always be sought after.
Saw this coming as soon as they were shown on the direct. I'm trying to break my swag-hoarding habits, so I've been trying real hard to avoid these lavish (you know it will be) CEs.

Re: 'Gal Guardians: Servants Of The Dark' Brings More Castlevania Vibes To Switch In March 2025
I enjoyed the first game's demo, but still haven't bought it. This one looks good as well. May have to track down that CE just for the artbook.
Re: Looks Like Fire Emblem & Paper Mario Dev Intelligent Systems Is Hiring
Glad to see someone in the industry is adding rather than subtracting.
Re: Switch Is Getting A New Star Trek Game For Christmas
I don't know. Looks like any of a dozen different games I've played on my phone, but Star Trek.
We'll see...
Re: Talking Point: Where The Heck Are Those Metroid Prime 2 And 3 Remasters?
Same place the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess remakes are, I assume.
Re: As Switch Closes The Gap, Sony Officially Confirms PS2 Has Sold "Over" 160 Million Units
The PS2 was still selling after the PS3 launch. No reason to think it won't be the same for the Switch.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd November)
I managed to pick up Gundam Breaker 4 and Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters on sale from Amazon. Giving Breaker a try first.
Re: MvC: Fighting Collection Shows Off Bonus Comic Included With Physical Version

The click-baitiest of click-bait titles that ever click-baited.

Re: Riviera: The Promised Land Remaster Gets Western Release Date On Switch
Looking forward to this one. I had this one on my need-to-buy list for ages but never picked it up. I will be remedying that.

What's that I hear? Sounds like an Angel Choir!
Re: Random: Stolen Pokémon Card Worth £30,000 Is Returned To Its Trainer
"Received a caution"
Does that mean he was told "don't do it again"?
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Kid Icarus (NES)
Nothing against 70's-cartoon Icarus, but I'm going pixels.
Re: Talking Point: What Is Nintendo Thinking Trying To Keep The Lid On This Playtest Program?
Maybe, and just hear me out for a second, maybe they actually thought people could be trusted to do what they say they'll do.
Unfortunately, internet fame is worth far more than integrity.
Re: Alleged Concept Art From Cancelled Donkey Kong Project Emerges
That looks more like concept art for the DK Skylander than anything "else".

I think the kids would say "that subtitle has no chill".
Re: Neo Geo Beat 'Em Up 'Vengeance Hunters' Brings The Fight To Switch Next Week

Toad on a toilet. Best guess.
Re: Aspyr Is Remastering Yet Another Star Wars Game For Switch
@vio Thus, the "2".
Re: Review: Hori Fighting Commander For Nintendo Switch - The Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom Companion?
I have to say, the no rolling d-pad is a pretty big con. I'm no fighting game expert, but that seems to be a big miss.
Re: Aspyr Is Remastering Yet Another Star Wars Game For Switch
Not I. I just want Dark Forces 2. And the Rogue games. Oh, and Shadows of the Empire.
Re: Forget 'Switch 2', Nintendo Has Just Revealed An Official Alarm Clock
It really is pretty neat, but I thought I was the last one on the planet still using an alarm clock instead of my phone.
Don't think I'd give 100$ for it though. Maybe 50 and we could talk.

Re: Dragon Quest Creator Chimes In On Characters Showing Less Skin In Upcoming HD-2D Remake
I'm amused that it is at the same time both the extreme left and extreme right in America that are causing censorship on a Japanese game.
If anything is /popcorn-worthy, it's this.
Re: Review: Night Slashers: Remake (Switch) - Some Nice, Gory Ideas, But The Visuals Are The Real Horror Story
I still think I want to give this one a try.

Re: New 'Gal Guardians' Is A Gorgeous Throwback To Castlevania's Igarashi Era

Justly deserved. A fantastic game! (Now somebody get to work porting all of the old Ogre Battle titles!)
Re: Review: Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed (Switch) - A Lick Of Paint Works Wonders
I remember being very interested in this when it was originally revealed, but for some reason I never picked it up. Perhaps I will remedy that.
Re: UK Charts: Warhammer Dominates While Only One Nintendo Title Makes The Top 10
Doom. DOOM! Better anounce the Switch 2 now.
Re: Marvel Vs. Capcom Players Beware, Fighting Game Legend Justin Wong Is Crushing Online Opponents
I'll probably never run into him, but if I did, I'd consider it an honor to get Wazzled.
This just adds to the amazingness of this collection.

Pre-ordered the physical as soon as it was available to do so.

This is why I never buy consoles until after the first price drop at least.
Re: The Last Ninja Collection Brings Seven Retro Games To Switch In 2025
Was International Karate an arcade game? It looks like a game I played in the local 7-eleven back around that time ('85).

Chaomagotchi. Let's go!
Re: Sonic Fans, Don't Get Your Hopes Up For A Standalone Chao Garden Game
I mean, you /can/...if you wanted to. I really should hook my Dreamcast back up. Really should have done it yesterday. I loved the Chao garden.
Re: Review: Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics (Switch) - A Stunning Showcase Of '90s Fighter Evolution

Two thumbs up!

Re: Review: Gundam Breaker 4 (Switch) - A Return To Form That Focuses On The Series' Strengths
I nearly pre-orderd the big CE with the gunpla kit, but I couldn't get over the colors on that kit.
Anyway, I'm ready for this! Hopefully, with the recent anniversary, there are plenty of Mobile Fighter G-Gundam parts. I loved those Gundams.

Re: Reaction: Shadow Drops & Surprises - A Stuffed Direct With Something For Everyone
Apart from release dates for already anticipated games, it was a yawn-fest.
Glad others found gems though.

@dustinprewitt
Now this, this I'd jump all over!
