That ultimate is calling to me. That lamp, and those maps?! /swoon.
I'd be all over this if I didn't already have these and 2 working DSes. As such, I'm going to be drawing on every ounce of willpower I can muster to resist.
Point one: AI is indeed a tool. Unfortunately, it's a much cheaper tool. Which leads to...
Point 2: What does it matter how much a game makes if you were paid what you agreed upon? It's statements like the one she made about her first gig that make AI even more appealing to studios.
I do kinda feel for these people. For my whole life, factory workers have looked over their shoulders, fearing the ever-present "robot" closing in on their jobs. Cheaper tools that can replace flesh will always be sought after.
Saw this coming as soon as they were shown on the direct. I'm trying to break my swag-hoarding habits, so I've been trying real hard to avoid these lavish (you know it will be) CEs.
Man, I'm getting old. I remember telling my co-workers back in the PS1 days that my newest RPG was a 40 hour(!) game. That's nothing these day, and unfortunately as I've gotten older I don't have the time for these. But I keep buying them, hoping for slower days to come.
Once upon a time, my (not yet) wife would come over and read a book on my lap while I played FFIX. Those were the days.
Or, and just hear me out for a minute, they could go back to the days when the main set was interesting and not just fodder for a set of ultra-high-end-premium "chase" cards that are one per box, if not case, or less.
That's some pretty interesting timing on my part. Yesterday I deleted my Play-Asia bookmark for it and I deleted the Amazon listing from my wish-list. I had given up on obtaining a copy and nearly gave in on the digital sale.
Perhaps I'll give the "second print" a look in October.
@Vyacheslav333 They were probably waiting on sales of the home arcade cabinet to cool off to a certain point before offering the console version. Or maybe they made a deal with the cabinet maker to wait a certain amount of time. Those are my conspiracies.
1. The rest of the old Quest Ogre Battle / Tactics Ogre games. 2. Dark Forces 2 3. The Super Star Wars Trilogy 4. Shadows of the Empire 5. Rogue Squadron games (There might be a theme there) 6. Wind Waker (preferably all 3) 7. Twilight Princess 8. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2
I'm really liking this trend of remastering/remaking the old SW games. As others have said, holding out hope that someone will pick up Shadows of the Empire, Rouge Squadron/Leader and especially a complete version of Dark Forces 2.
I've accepted that this is the "new normal" with video game pricing. Doesn't mean I'll pay it, I can judge pricing case-by-case also, but I've accepted msrp increases.
I finally pulled the trigger on Dark Forces while it was on sale. I figured I'd double-dip if they ever got around to dropping a physical copy, and oh my! what a physical it is!
I really want to go for the highest tier if I can swing it in my entertainment budget.
Still cautiously optimistic, but this is the second hands-on I've read today, and I'm not thrilled with the Cooking Mama game-focus. I was hoping for more life-in-the-shire, but so far, everyone is focusing on the cooking aspect. I get it, Hobbits et al, but surely there is more to do than cook and find things to cook.
@batmanbud2 I actually want referring to the world being open, but the puzzles and how you can solve them. I think there technically may be many ways to advance, but one or two will always be "optimal".

Re: Lunar Remastered Collection Revives Beloved '90s JRPG Series On Switch In Spring 2025
This is fantastic news, especially for those who missed them back in the day. My PS1 WD collector editions are still highlights of my vg collection.
Re: Tactical RPG Gem 'Unicorn Overlord' Smashes Past 1 Million Sales
Justly deserved. A fantastic game! (Now somebody get to work porting all of the old Ogre Battle titles!)
Re: Review: Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed (Switch) - A Lick Of Paint Works Wonders
I remember being very interested in this when it was originally revealed, but for some reason I never picked it up. Perhaps I will remedy that.

Doom. DOOM! Better anounce the Switch 2 now.
Re: Marvel Vs. Capcom Players Beware, Fighting Game Legend Justin Wong Is Crushing Online Opponents
I'll probably never run into him, but if I did, I'd consider it an honor to get Wazzled.
This just adds to the amazingness of this collection.

Pre-ordered the physical as soon as it was available to do so.
Re: Soapbox: Sony's Insane PS5 Pro Price Highlights The Delicate Balance Nintendo Must Strike With 'Switch 2'
This is why I never buy consoles until after the first price drop at least.
Re: The Last Ninja Collection Brings Seven Retro Games To Switch In 2025
Was International Karate an arcade game? It looks like a game I played in the local 7-eleven back around that time ('85).

Chaomagotchi. Let's go!
Re: Sonic Fans, Don't Get Your Hopes Up For A Standalone Chao Garden Game
I mean, you /can/...if you wanted to. I really should hook my Dreamcast back up. Really should have done it yesterday. I loved the Chao garden.

Re: Review: Gundam Breaker 4 (Switch) - A Return To Form That Focuses On The Series' Strengths
I nearly pre-orderd the big CE with the gunpla kit, but I couldn't get over the colors on that kit.
Anyway, I'm ready for this! Hopefully, with the recent anniversary, there are plenty of Mobile Fighter G-Gundam parts. I loved those Gundams.

Re: Reaction: Shadow Drops & Surprises - A Stuffed Direct With Something For Everyone
Apart from release dates for already anticipated games, it was a yawn-fest.
Glad others found gems though.

@dustinprewitt

I have and have played them both on my ps1, but I'm pretty excited to go at them again. They left a mark on me, so good!
Re: Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Punches Up September Release
November is so far away, but not as far as March for Suikoden.
Re: 'Castlevania Dominus Collection' Brings Three DS Classics To Switch Today
Pretty cool, but I already have these and a working DS. Or 2, maybe.
Re: Nintendo Indie World & Partner Direct Announced For Tomorrow, August 27th 2024
Once again (/sigh) hoping for Ogre Battle remasters/remakes. All of them.

I love a good beat-em-up, and I'm really looking forward to this one. Never played it.

I love the statue and the little Chaos, but too rich for my blood.
Also, here I am. Never had an issue with LRG.

this has nothing to do with Pokémon or TCGs in general (that's another can of worms)
Re: Feature: The Company You Can Pay To X-Ray Unopened Pokémon Card Packs Speaks Out
@Bobb
This is what I was thinking. "Coming to a hobby shop near you: lead-lined, scanner-resistant packaging!"
Disclaimer: the lead may be toxic to you, but your packs will be safe!
Re: Video: Capcom Spotlights 'X-Men Children Of The Atom' In New MvC: Fighting Collection Trailer
I don't think my hype for this one can get any bigger. Just release it already!

Re: Iconic Publication Game Informer Is Closing Down After 33 Years
They survived longer than most. Way longer than I expected.
Print is dead. Long live print.
Edit: I have the GI site bookmarked for my non-nintendo gaming news. It appears to be down already.
Or maybe not...
Yup, it's done.
Re: Mortal Kombat Studio NetherRealm Is Reportedly Facing Layoffs
They're laying off the group that was working on WB's GAS games? Didn't WB just tell us they were true believers in live service games?

Re: Sonic Team Boss Really Wants To Make A New Sonic The Hedgehog RPG

The photo with the caption "Must be revolutionary. But also exactly the same" really sums up what we, in general, expect.
Re: Square Enix And Nintendo Co-Dev Reports Losses After Multiple Projects Cancelled
It still amazes me that they felt like they would lose /less money canceling the projects than finishing them. They must have been some real stinkers.
