The amiibo ROM was dumped the day before it's release and available on the internet. I don't like the amiibo concept. Forcing to buy a figurine to get some bonuses... So I rely on a much less costly and unofficial way.
1: decide on an objective and try to get there 2: get immediately distracted by stuff for several hours like a toddler in a room full of toys 3: realise l'm on the other side of the map 4: repeat until I get somewhere
@iDidSomething BOTW and Witcher 3 run fine on the Switch, but a PS1 game like chrono cross can barely run. It all depends on the developer's competence, so your comment is invalid... Except for the beautiful part, you're absolutely right on this.
@mariomaster96 this is exactly why aggregators like metacritic should always drop the top and bottom 5-10% to avoid subjective reviews from blind fanboys and haters.
This is the most ridiculous discount I've seen in a while. It's 10-15€/£/$ cheaper in almost every shop. I really don't get how digital, which has basically no production cost, can be so much more expensive than physical. Especially for switch cartridges which cost a lot more than a Blu-ray to manufacture.
@Eel The game is too old and doesn't hold against today's standards to get a spit shine remake like they did with Link's Awakening. It would need a remake even more drastic than FF7 Remake to have a chance to be released. And this would mean changing almost everything about the game, safe for the initial sentence "it's dangerous to go alone" since the story is so basic, and most of it is on the manual if I remember correctly.
@link3710 I don't see a Nintendo game getting a mandatory patch. A solo physical game should be playable without requiring an internet connection, especially on a portable console for a game made by the manufacturer. They'll go for a 32GB cartridge if necessary, they can't be cheap about it since they increased the game price.
They just need to sacrifice Bobby Kotick to the god of optimisation. I'm sure it would be enough to get CoD to run on the Switch. That and hiring a talented team. But mostly the Kotick thing.
I'm just expecting an normal illumination film. Probably played by minions wearing mario costumes with a cork up their bum to avoid too many fart jokes.
@sanderev I fully agree. At least we haven't seen those crappy articles promoting shovelwares, which Nintendo life don't even bother to even test, for a while.
The quality is still lacking and I barely read 10% of the articles, trying to avoid clickbates for eShop cards.
I also unsubscribed from the YouTube channel and haven't watched a single video since one of the guys (whose name I won't mention, so don't get upset) joined the team, as he showed immaturity and a complete lack of professionalism. The other 2 are pretty great, or were? I don't know, I haven't watched any of their videos in a while because of this.
@Yosher Yoshi has the same technology as Samus in his stomach. But since he likes cute things, he poops eggs instead of morphballs. Ennemies just die horribly when the egg breaks, since the eggs don't include the necessary components to go back to normal.
I guess EA = Activision = Ubisoft = 2K. Greed is their main motivation. I blame all the idiots who actually spend money on those sh*tty live service games and enabling evil companies to exist. Without them, this trend would have died before it even started
Having Game freak nominated for the most valuable creator shows how ridiculous these awards can be. I'm still glad Elden ring and XC3 get some proper credit.
I don't care much about that lovely mute guy dressed as a grasshopper. But I can say with absolute certainty which Zelda has the best hero: Groose in skyward sword.
If that game is as greatly developed as the crunchyroll streaming service, it will not only destroy your Gameboy colour/advance but also burn to the ground your entire neighborhood. I wouldn't even trust those people with programming a simple hello world
@marck13 Probably misplaced nostalgia. It feels like sonic fans weren't lucky enough to get a Nintendo console and never knew better, so they convinced themselves that sonic was a good IP and refuse to change their mind. Same with Crash Bandicoot.
@Sensible I'd say they live on nostalgia (only having a Sega console as kids probably) and will convince themselves it's the best game of all time regardless of its quality. It's the only way to explain the sonic franchise still exists.
@ThomasBW84 Non native English speakers also expect to pronounce words as they are spelled. I'm not sure why I still expect that. There are so many exceptions.
Awesome. I can't wait to see a test before NL spams discounts about this game. I'm sure Ryan (aka THE Kemco lover) will be delighted to spend dozens of hours testing this.
I understand the guy wants to save his skin as a game director, and if what he says is true, Squenix are in the wrong. But even without all that, I'm not sure another decade in the oven could have saved this game. Everything about it looked wrong since the very first trailer.
@Stubborn_Monkey like others said in the comments, any Mario is vastly superior to other platforms. But if you played Mario 64 as a kid, you can't possibly see sunshine as a good Mario game. Is not a bad game, just one of the worse 3D Mario. And you can only see it as "one of the best" of you are blinded by nostalgia if it was you first Mario game.
@TotalHenshin That would explain the amount of people defending Sunshine here. It's like people who didn't have a Nintendo console when they were kids tend to love Sonic or Crash Bandicoot because they didn't know anything else.
@bluemage1989 I liked Jon, but I agree about Felix. The content isn't bad and he's quite likable, but there is something that bothers me. First, it feels like the targeted audience is around 5 years old.
And I think there is an issue with Felix's half British/half Irish fake accent. I don't know, it seems like some sounds are missing and I can barely understand a thing. I'm not native English speaker, but I can understand British, Scottish, Irish, American, Canadian without any problem and even Indian or Chinese speaking English to an extent, but I can't understand Felix... Well, I still have 2/3 of NL YouTube to enjoy.
Nice to see Skies of Arcadia in a list. One of my favourite game from the GC era. Although I'm not sure it has aged well. It might be a bit stiff and slow for today's standards.

Re: Random: Sea Of Thieves' Twitter Account 'Won't Shed Any Tears' If You Play Zelda Instead
@abbyhitter Guerilla tried not to release horizon forbidden west 3 days before Zelda and got wrecked by Elden Ring. I guess some devs are unlucky.
Re: Time Between Switch's Announcement And Launch Was A "Special Case", Says Nintendo
@FishyS Your comment made me curious and I got the calculator out. A switch is sold every other second. This is an insane number after 6 years.

He should stay in the cue until the TOTK sequel comes out
Re: Pokémon Studio Game Freak Is Partnering With Private Division On 'Project Bloom'
@CharlieGirl they just don't care about Pokémon, because they know they will sell 10+ millions copies regardless of its quality.

Re: Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series Sells Two Million Copies
@Magician hopefully they will make a HD-2D remake for Chrono trigger. One of the best jrpg of all times deserves such treatment.

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
With this kind of reviews, I'm expecting at least 112 on metacritic.
Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 16.0.2 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
It feels like this update should be version 1.0.16 considering how much it has evolved in the past 6 years.
Re: Mario Movie Just The Beginning Of Nintendo & Illumination's "Rewarding Collaboration"
A long relationship between a beloved franchise and a not so beloved giant... That reminds me of the exclusive deal between Star Wars and EA.
Re: Don't Expect To See Future Super Mario Games On Mobile, Suggests Miyamoto
That reminds me I never bothered to finish super mario run. I can't even be bothered to reinstall it.

I'm just expecting an normal illumination film. Probably played by minions wearing mario costumes with a cork up their bum to avoid too many fart jokes.
Re: Sega Explains Why Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection Costs $80
I'm tracking it on deku deals and might buy it when it's under 40€. No way I'm paying 80€ for an NDS remaster collection.

I watched 2 minutes and realised I'd rather discover it all by myself because I'm buying it anyway. I'll be avoiding every Zelda news from now on.

At least it's not with RPG elements. Good luck overselling Mariokart on Nintendo consoles though.

300 million seems almost too little for those studios and IP.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aimé Is A Big Believer In Blockchain And "Play To Own"
You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Reggie was corrupted by the industry.

Re: Random: Pixel Artist Reimagines Super Mario Sunshine As A GBA Release
@gaga64 You should respect people's opinions when they lie to themselves about Sunshine being good.
Re: Baldo: The Guardian Owls Gets A Brand New Adventure In Free Update Today
I wouldn't hold my breath. It says "small improvements", not complete overhaul.
