I'm sure a 2D Zelda maker would have a lot more success, at least on Switch. But that will never happen since Nintendo wouldn't want Zelda to be mistreated (the CD-i never existed, neither did Triforce hero)
I see a loophole in his pledge! He could still release improved versions like Atlus and their weird re-release that basically include a DLC without possibility to upgrade from the base game. I guess Stardew Valley Golden Royal Vengeance would be a mouthful.
Zelda is black and white good vs evil. They have never shown any villain as grey (unless you count Goose, the hero who was never chosen).
I don't see Ganondorf being a protagonist. He's pretty much Demise with a Gerudo harem... Maybe Nintendo could make a fantasy dating sim staring Ganondorf.
It would be awesome to be able to switch between both, Zelda being in Hyrule and Link in some kind of dark world. It would be another spin on the ALTTP/ALBW formula.
I'd be curious to see what it looked like before they restarted from scratch, and why it wasn't good enough. Hopefully, this will get a documentary in the near future.
So they took all the assets from Link's awakening DX and added pterodactyls and some sort of house from Namek. This seems like a pure coincidence, and definitely not a rip-off.
When you say Sonic + RPG, I immediately think of the last time someone related to sonic worked with a publisher specialised in RPG, aka Squeenix. It didn't go well, so go with your RPG idea, but stick with Sega, don't involve SE.
That's probably frustration talking because the guy wanted a better team. Any junior employee needs to be micromanaged until they are autonomous. It doesn't mean they are "the worst", they are just not up to speed. Ok, some people just suck forever, but you get my point.
If they can't produce enough to avoid scalpers (death to every single one of them), I'll just wait and enjoy discounted game when I eventually buy one, just like I did with the PS5.
That Switch 2 logo is not going to sit well with Nintendo until they make a proper announcement. This has a nasty stench of lawsuit, or ban from the system.
Edit: If the team is really working on switch 2, they must have signed an NDA. So this would be an obvious breach.
It's always funny when people try to make up names in a foreign language they barely speak. Like that french girl who named her dog "poopy", thinking that was how you spelled "puppy". Or an MMO character named "moonaime", when it was supposed to spell "mon amie" (my friend in French)
What kind of article isd this? Not even a mention of the obvious A link between worlds, which was an evolution of the so-called template. Very odd and out of place article.
Every time I see Mistwalker, it reminds me of The last story. The name is so similar to Final Fantasy, it should have been a franchise! Anyway, wake me up when they remake/remaster The last story for the Switch.
@TheBitBandit I played it once on Switch release, then it was exactly as you said. I'm glad I found someone else with such a minor and specific problem with this game. But this is the last version... Until the next one is announced.
Sony is going to come out again and lie about sales number just to fell like they are better. Like an auction "160 million PS2 from the liar over there, anyone lying 170? 170 anyone?"
You have to admire the confidence. But I still think a live action is the worst idea for a Zelda film. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I won't hold my breath.
The joy of waiting for other platforms to fully debug the game for us. Hopefully he won't announce v1.7 until I take the time to play the game again (which hasn't happened since the 1.2 switch release)
Does that mean he'll make infinite sequels with Flemming kidnaping Paula every single time, then going on a kart seminar as friends, playing golf, football and everything except plumbing?

Re: Nintendo Is Reportedly Targeting AI-Generated Mario Pictures
So much hate against AI in the comments... Let me join! Death to AI!
Honestly this means they trained their crap with Nintendo IP. Of course Nintendo will send an army of lawyers.

Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Developer Seemingly Revealed
It's the kind of studio Nintendo could acquire.
Re: Nintendo And Pokémon File Lawsuit Against Palworld Developer Pocketpair
Since Sony created Pal world entertainment with Pocket pair, this means Nintendo is suing Sony. This should be interesting
Re: Rumour: Supposed 'Switch 2' Design Photos And Specs Surface Online
Probably fake. I don't trust this kind of rumours.
Considering I got a 300€ phone with 12GB ram and 512GB storage, I'm hoping for a version with more storage.
I'd say 400€ with a 1080p screen, limited 4K capacities on TV, a new Mario as launch title and a new 3D Zelda 3-4 years after the switch 2 release.
Re: Talking Point: What Game Should Be 'Switch 2's 'Skyrim Moment'?
A port of the PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't seem like a good idea.
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Almost Had A Different Name
You would have needed the 7 Dragontears to summon Shenron and get your wish granted.
I'm glad they went with tears of the kingdom. I'm sure stupid people like me would have compared it with Dragonball otherwise.
Re: Stardew Valley Creator Shares New Update About Version 1.6 Console Ports
What kind of developer finishes a game/update before releasing it?
This almost feels nostalgic... Waiting for a long time to eventually get a perfectly polished game.
Re: Random: Nintendo Reveals The Player Prediction Methods Used To Cut Zelda: TOTK's Load Times
They have yet to mention the details on how they sacrificed the Wii U, the virtual boy and the 64DD to the god of video games.
Re: Atari Launches 'Summer Sale', Slashing Up To 80% Off Switch eShop Titles
Those lists would be so much better with metacritic ratings.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles Dev Monolith Soft Is Recruiting For A 'New RPG'
The only developer I still trust enough to pre-order a game blindly based on a trailer (besides the Zelda and Smash team).
Re: Soapbox: 20 Years After His Last Mainline Appearance, Tingle Deserves A Comeback
Everybody would love a 150h epic starring the lovely fairy, set in a drug induced Hyrule where everything is either a butterfly of sparkly powder.
Re: LEGO Reveals New Shadow The Hedgehog Set, Launching This October
"Sonic model for adults" did I read that right? Is it why it only has a head?
Or maybe it's rated R because Lego murdered Shadow to preserve their precious partnership with Nintendo.
Re: Nintendo Live Threat Culprit Sentenced To One Year In Prison
Good thing the internet didn't exist back when I destroyed my older brother at pretty much any game and he'd take my controller to even the score.
Being an idiot is one thing. Threatening someone because you suck at something is another.
Re: All Humble Games Staff Reportedly Laid Off As Publisher Announces "Restructuring"
Restructuring: way to damage a company and its former employees so investors will make more money in the very short term.

Re: Talking Point: Could Ganondorf Ever Be The Star Of A Zelda Game?
@GinMiguel I'm talking about the main protagonist and antagonist. Zelda/Link vs Ganon/Vaati/Demise or whatever.
In BotW they pushed it to the extreme, with Ganon being a calamity and Zelda being the goddess of light.
Hilda is a good point. But in the end, Yuga is the true antagonist and turns pure evil possessing Ganon.
And Midna was never the antagonist. Once again, Ganon is the all bad antagonist.
Skull kid is a bit of an exception, unless you consider Majora's mask to be the true antagonist.
The others you mentioned are just side characters.

Re: Tales Of Kenzera: Zau Studio Is Reportedly Facing Layoffs
@Fangleman32 76 is more average than decent on metacritic. The videogame average is around 74, and that probably includes some borderline shovelwares

Re: Silksong Is "Not In Dev Hell" According To Playtester
Could it be in dev purgatory? Or maybe it's developed as a stadia exclusive and they didn't manage to break the contract yet.
Regardless, it will definitely launch before Star citizen.

Re: Visual Novels Based On 'The Quintessential Quintuplets' Anime Come To Switch Next Week
Hard pass. I enjoyed the first half of the anime, but the ending was an absolute turd that made no sense at all.

Re: Random: 3DS & Wii U Players Beat 14-Year-Old Halo 2 Server Record
That's a picture of a 2DS, not a 3DS not a Wii U. And yes I'm fun at parties.
Re: Random: No, Nintendo New York's Store Renovations Aren't Linked To 'Switch 2'
So... They are skipping the Switch 2 and going straight for Switch 3? This will be the only console that deserves the "next gen" title!
Re: Sequel To Roguelike Hit Hades Enters Early Access With 'Overwhelmingly Positive' Reviews
Well deserved if it's half as good as the first one. Can't wait for the final version in 2026

It rarely makes sense for the main character to take a back seat. At least they waited for the 3rd season in The Mandalorian.

Awesome! Another article about absolutely nothing with a BS title. Could you only make titles when you have something report?

Nintendo never gave the right number for their consoles either. They sold 170 million Virtual Boy and 9 billion Wii U.

@Duffman92 There is also Shadow the Sand Witch in production. It's a crossover with Mad Max Furry Road (not a typo)
