I see a loophole in his pledge! He could still release improved versions like Atlus and their weird re-release that basically include a DLC without possibility to upgrade from the base game. I guess Stardew Valley Golden Royal Vengeance would be a mouthful.
Zelda is black and white good vs evil. They have never shown any villain as grey (unless you count Goose, the hero who was never chosen).
I don't see Ganondorf being a protagonist. He's pretty much Demise with a Gerudo harem... Maybe Nintendo could make a fantasy dating sim staring Ganondorf.
It would be awesome to be able to switch between both, Zelda being in Hyrule and Link in some kind of dark world. It would be another spin on the ALTTP/ALBW formula.
I'd be curious to see what it looked like before they restarted from scratch, and why it wasn't good enough. Hopefully, this will get a documentary in the near future.
So they took all the assets from Link's awakening DX and added pterodactyls and some sort of house from Namek. This seems like a pure coincidence, and definitely not a rip-off.
When you say Sonic + RPG, I immediately think of the last time someone related to sonic worked with a publisher specialised in RPG, aka Squeenix. It didn't go well, so go with your RPG idea, but stick with Sega, don't involve SE.
That's probably frustration talking because the guy wanted a better team. Any junior employee needs to be micromanaged until they are autonomous. It doesn't mean they are "the worst", they are just not up to speed. Ok, some people just suck forever, but you get my point.
If they can't produce enough to avoid scalpers (death to every single one of them), I'll just wait and enjoy discounted game when I eventually buy one, just like I did with the PS5.
That Switch 2 logo is not going to sit well with Nintendo until they make a proper announcement. This has a nasty stench of lawsuit, or ban from the system.
Edit: If the team is really working on switch 2, they must have signed an NDA. So this would be an obvious breach.
It's always funny when people try to make up names in a foreign language they barely speak. Like that french girl who named her dog "poopy", thinking that was how you spelled "puppy". Or an MMO character named "moonaime", when it was supposed to spell "mon amie" (my friend in French)
What kind of article isd this? Not even a mention of the obvious A link between worlds, which was an evolution of the so-called template. Very odd and out of place article.
Every time I see Mistwalker, it reminds me of The last story. The name is so similar to Final Fantasy, it should have been a franchise! Anyway, wake me up when they remake/remaster The last story for the Switch.
@TheBitBandit I played it once on Switch release, then it was exactly as you said. I'm glad I found someone else with such a minor and specific problem with this game. But this is the last version... Until the next one is announced.
Sony is going to come out again and lie about sales number just to fell like they are better. Like an auction "160 million PS2 from the liar over there, anyone lying 170? 170 anyone?"
You have to admire the confidence. But I still think a live action is the worst idea for a Zelda film. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I won't hold my breath.
The joy of waiting for other platforms to fully debug the game for us. Hopefully he won't announce v1.7 until I take the time to play the game again (which hasn't happened since the 1.2 switch release)
Does that mean he'll make infinite sequels with Flemming kidnaping Paula every single time, then going on a kart seminar as friends, playing golf, football and everything except plumbing?
@Anti-Matter Agreed on the illegal and non official part. An IP should be respected, unless it's for parody or whatever can get around copyrights, like news reporting.
However, I do believe GameFreaks is doing a fantastic job destroying the Pokémon brand themselves with extremely poor quality games, so I understand why they don't want fans to risk setting the bar higher. That would mean having to give half a sh*t when GF creates a game. Or not, since the fanbase is just not bothered by the low quality as long as it's called Pokémon.
We can expect MK8DX Remaster as a Switch successor launch title. Unless it's backwards compatible, in which case I hope they won't crap the bed like Sony and their random paid upgrades for basically the same game, but slightly better looking and a lot more expensive.
I see the SanDisk fans, but I can't say I had the same experience in the last 20 years. I've only had problems with SanDisk (from multiple shops). They don't last and all died in a couple of years, or a lot less (last time I tried SanDisk, it died in under a month in my android tablet when my Samsung card was still alive 5 years later).
I switched to Samsung and Kingston, and I've never had another problem. Some of them are still alive after over 10 years, when SanDisk never lasted more than 2.
Still a few more studios to save. Hopefully they will all join the right group/holding/publisher so they can thrive.
The thing is, they will also have a massive layoff if Embracer goes down. Employees aren't the one who make those horrible decisions, so I can't even wish this group any harm. It must be so much easier not to be human like all those CEOs and investors.
I'm in denial. He didn't die, he's just hanging out with Kaio-sama. Now we all know what to wish for when we summon Shenron.
That being said, his influence is palpable everywhere. From monsters with multiple transformations, to glowy powerups (Mario pretty much goes super Saiyan in Bowser's fury). Shonen often have heroes that come back much stronger when they got beaten up and almost died. Heroes that are dumb as rock, but really strong and have a bottomless pit for a stomach. I'm not even sure we'd have One piece, Naruto or many other mangas if it wasn't for him. Also Dragonball was probably what made manga and anime popular in the west.
@Shepdawg1 And that's a good thing they are here to protect the children.
I'm ok with them learning how fun it is to murder a bunch of people, or enslave animals as long as you call them monsters, but I draw the line at card games or seeing half a nipple!
Going all in on piracy would let me drop physical games. If consoles drop physical games, I would only buy if it is hackable and I can download games for free.

Restructuring: way to damage a company and its former employees so investors will make more money in the very short term.

Re: Talking Point: Could Ganondorf Ever Be The Star Of A Zelda Game?
@GinMiguel I'm talking about the main protagonist and antagonist. Zelda/Link vs Ganon/Vaati/Demise or whatever.
In BotW they pushed it to the extreme, with Ganon being a calamity and Zelda being the goddess of light.
Hilda is a good point. But in the end, Yuga is the true antagonist and turns pure evil possessing Ganon.
And Midna was never the antagonist. Once again, Ganon is the all bad antagonist.
Skull kid is a bit of an exception, unless you consider Majora's mask to be the true antagonist.
The others you mentioned are just side characters.

@Fangleman32 76 is more average than decent on metacritic. The videogame average is around 74, and that probably includes some borderline shovelwares
