This game could be my new Hollow Knight whereas it was critically acclaimed, widely beloved and although I’ve played very little…nothing seemed to grab me about this game so for now it’s a bit overrated to me. (I love Hollow Knight now after getting over a some slow starts). I’m beginning to really value my backlog amongst the changing landscape of modern gaming. It’s really cool to see this game still being supported after all these years, this dev deserves his flowers. So I do hope to finally give the game a proper play

HUNTDOWN is a superb modern day throwback to the 2D side scrolling shoot em’ ups! If you can play the game in 2 player mode it really shines there. It would have been awesome if it had online co op. The new Terminator game gives me similar vibes ..I’m hoping it reviews well. We need a HUNTDOWN 2!

I’m still on the tail end of Ace Combat 7 and absolutely enjoying my Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough. I’m definitely getting Silk Song next week and with Hades 2, Outer Worlds 2 and MP4 still due this year it’s a stacked end to the year.

I’m still thoroughly enjoying my playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077. They really did a great job optimizing it for the Switch 2. I’ve also been clearing up some backlog as I’m nearing the end of Ace Combat 7. Can’t wait to see these boards once SilkSong drops in 2 weeks! 🤡

On Xbox I’m going to continue playing through some Gamepass games…there’s a ton of value on it right now and looking forward to Outer Worlds 2 …would love a Switch 2 port!

I hear you thoroughly. I’ve said it before…I really disliked the game initially, wrote it off as overhyped! I decided to give it one more try and now it’s one of my all time favourites games. There’s a mood to the game that’s not going to appeal to everyone but it truly is a masterpiece.

Aha…I found you Jim Ryan! 😝…if Cyberpunk 2077 runs on Switch 2 than a properly optimized Elden Ring should run just fine. Might want to reserve judgement until the fully playable version is released…it’s definitely not a final build if they aren’t allowing any footage to be taken

Sadly, this exactly. This demo actually killed any anticipation I had for this game. This is not what I bought a Switch 2 for …the experience feels as if this game was designed for the Wii U. Definitely nothing next gen about it

The game looks good however the controls feel a bit stiff. It has potential but there’s a smoothness to the game that’s missing and this demo hasn’t won me over tbh.

This makes sense…with the N-Zap and Super Scope they could laser target kids all day! Seriously though it would be cool if they could reintroduce something like “laser tag” for kids but using new Nintendo N-Zap peripheral

Say what now? I’m not judging anything about this game, just mentioned the fact it took 15 years to develop and the devs stuck with it…as in they didn’t “cave in”.

Was wondering the same as this does lineup with a pre launch leak regarding how they plan to focus initially on their 1st party offerings (MK World, DK Bananza), followed by a window to let their partners and 3rd parties (Elden Ring,Hades II,Silksong…) get some shine. Then finally close the launch year out with the remaining 1st party titles (MP4, Kirby’s Air Ride).

So far this is playing out as such. I do believe this is a good spot for atleast Hades II being that the Direct is only 15 mins long . They may highlight 1-2 bangers during this Direct. Or nothing even remotely close to any of our expectations 😂

After more than 8 years I think it’s finally time to get ARMS. Now is a good time for game collectors to get those Switch 1 physical copies before they start sky rocketing in price once the Switch 2 era is in full swing

Oh man…you had me at Vanquish (which was pretty much near the end of the article….so u actually had me at Rumour:!) How insanely cool would a remaster followed up with a Vanquish 2 Switch 2 announcement be?

Still smashing my way through DK Bananza it’s an outstanding video game! It truly is a unique gameplay experience. Ppl want to compare it to Mario Odyssey because of the dev team? Understandable. They’re the same but different. The same elite level quality and gameplay. Different games. Both to be enjoyed!

I downloaded Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound on a whim and thankfully it’s receiving critical acclaim. However I hear the Switch 2 version requires a patch so I may wait on that. Where’s the review NL? 😝

Going to dive into Gamepass on the Xbox Series X…perhaps Microsoft’s last true home console?? There really is some great value on there right now, still need to finish Indy!

D’oh!! It’s also out on Gamepass so I think I’ll play it there 1st and wait for a S2 patch. There is no reason for it to be running at 30 FPS on the Switch 2

I downloaded Ninja Gaiden 🥷 off the whim so hoping it’s a good game. I didn’t know it’s on physical as well so if it’s a really good game I might have to double dip! I’m hoping it’s not capped at 30 FPS on Switch 2 tho!

I believe on console Hades 2 is gonna be a timed exclusive on Switch 2 as well! I’ve got about 100 hrs on Hades so I feel your anxiety!..maybe double that cuz Silksong is also a day 1 for me! Hades 2 and Silksong in the same year could make for one the greatest Metroidvania years ever. All hail the eternal backlog!! 🥴

Donkey Kong Bananza like just about everyone else. It truly is a special game, never played anything quite like it. With only 4 months left in the year it’s going to be a very business end to 2025. Metroid Prime 4, Elden Ring:Tarnished Edition, Silksong, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Kirby’s Air Ride, Hades II…it really will be quite the launch year for Switch 2!

Im at the same part of the story in Cyberpunk:2077. You hit the same wall I did. She’s cute!! I just beat her and it was an intense fight. Try targeting her back to start, and stay on the move and keep unloading! 😉

A Direct would make sense for all the early adopters. I’m not with leaker culture though. Ppl need to stop praising these leeches, they’re basically just snitches trying to profit off the hard work of others. Nate the Hate would ruin that surprise party you’d been planning for months, gender reveal party? Nate would make sure all the guests are notified of the results in advance! He’d even tell you you”re about to become a father…before your partner would even get the chance 😂

This is the pre cursor to a new Mario Paint entry on Switch 2…if it’s not its own game it could be baked into the next 3D Mario game as a gameplay option

Hey welcome back to the cool kids club now that you’re a certified Switch 2 member 😝! If it’s your cup of tea I’d highly recommend Cyberpunk 2077…it’s an excellent game to just get lost in and oodle all over its cool details.

Also I was pretty choked with how quickly the Oilers disposed of the Vegas Knights in the post season! I’m not an Oilers fan at all so I was hoping Vegas would take them out! Marner is a very nice addition though!

Hollow Knight is widely considered to be one of the greatest Metroidvanias of all time. It’s not for everyone though. As was mentioned you can get the game on the cheap , I got it digitally for like $8. For the life of me I could not get into the game. I actually considered it wildly overrated for some time. I finally gave it a proper go and it’s become one of my all time favourites. It’s a masterpiece but it is challenging. I have over 100 hrs in the game so it’s ridiculous value for $8 that I spent. Personally I cannot recommend the game enough and with Silksong looking to launch this year(ha!) it’s a great time to start the series.

It has been awhile since I’ve posted on here! Like just about everyone else I’ve been enjoying my Switch 2. I’ve barely played DK Bananza but can tell it’s already a gem from the little I have played so far. Plus I copped the amiibo because I’m a Nintendo sloot! I’ll continue on with Cyberpunk 2077 which I’m absolutely loving so far on Switch 2. Digital Foundry should really give more praise to just how efficient and uniquely designed Switch 2 is but that’s for another day.

Mario Kart World and my backlog will make up the rest of my gaming. I’m hoping we do get that rumoured Nintendo Direct next week! Hades II, Silksong and Metroid Prime 4 already have my $..just like my mortgage and kids!

I do feel sorry for my Switch 1…because it feels outdated when holding it now. Add this to the rest of the 1st World problems list.

There will most certainly be a SteamDeck 2 with higher specs but I have no idea why we need to compare these devices. They are 2 different devices that carry their own benefits and features. SteamDeck is a niche product. Switch 2 outsold SteamDeck lifetime sales in only 4 Days…they are not on the same level in that regard , it’s not even close.

Switch 2 is already a success but it likely will NOT surpass the OG Switch. Pricing alone will see to this, ppl will be more hesitant to purchase multiple consoles for their households with the current pricing of the Nintendo ecosystem. Not to mention Switch enjoyed the benefits of a global pandemic 😷!

I damn near forgot I have this game. I’m all for free DLC so kudos to the devs! I’ll be playing this in between some Cyberpunk 2077 and MKW!

This is a prequel to Mario Odyssey. There’s a part at the end of the Direct where she goes on to say something akin to “When we get to the surface DK, we’ll make our dreams come true”. She grows up to become the successful singing mayor of NEW DONK CITY!

Wow. This is some very high level cope from Sony. Let’s be clear, it’s not that Sony doesn’t consider Nintendo as competition, it’s that Sony CAN’T compete with Nintendo! This is psychological, Mr Yoshida admitted it himself. Would you want to constantly look at graphs where your company was always trailing or trending behind? That is a morale killer. He said Sony has almost less than 10% of the Japanese market share. It’s so much easier to pick on a target like Xbox, it’s almost non existent in Japan as Yoshida said himself. This is a massive compliment and show of respect to Nintendo. It’s also Sony totally ignoring Nintendo just to feel better about themselves 😆

That part!! 70 GB is shameful, EA sucks at game optimization. Nintendo puts publishers to shame in that department. Honestly the 70GB is THE deterrent for me even though I know it’s a great game.

Fortnite and Pokémon….2 franchises I’ve somehow managed to never play. Sounds like the Switch 2 version is a great improvement, might give this game a try as it’s free…but it’s gonna put a hit on the memory which is oh so precious on the Switch 2. 1st World problems I tell ya

To answer your question at $80 is this game a revolutionary jump or is it just a prettier Mario Kart with newer content? It’s a bit of both. Let’s be frank, this is Mario Kart…it’s the same gameplay DNA and concepts the series is famous for. However it has evolved with the expanded 24 racers, new gameplay mechanics like rail and wall grinding, and the new modes….specifically Knockout add enough new depth to the Mario Kart formula. What’s old is new again here but it’s the best looking and smoothest iteration of Mario Kart.

Ppl will pour hundreds if not thousands of hours into this game for years to come. It’s easy to forget the joy ppl experience when playing games. Seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter of my kids, the fact it’s a blast to play as a family makes the $80 much easier to stomach. Not defending the price hike but the quality, value and replay ability are still top tier with Mario Kart World.

Not in this case these are simply backwards compatibility patches not performance patches. Those would come from the devs but there’s a good chance they do optimize a lot of these titles especially if devs can make $ off the upgrade patches

I have the Nintendo app but I’m gonna ignore these “Nintendo Today” features for now as I’d like leave some Switch 2 features as unknown and discover them for myself. The hype is quite wild for this system…I can’t recall a time where ppl where obsessing over stuff like the size of the physical boxes and such 😆

I’ll wait until they announce the Crumbl DLC 😝

Gamechat does sound like a waste of system resources, it’s a fun feature to have but definitely not something I’d be using daily. Hopefully devs have an option to disable the function and gain more access to the RAM and processing. Right now it’s sounding like Gamechat will be the systems bottleneck that devs will have to work around. It’ll be annoying if we start hearing how Gamechat is restricting devs in any way

It’s a bit strange hearing “very powerful” in regards to a Nintendo system. Indeed it has been over 20yrs since they incorporated more “bleeding edge” tech into their consoles. It’s been nice to hear for a change and should bode well with helping future proof the system as it ages. For those looking for a more in depth analysis of the actual power of the Switch 2 I found this analysis to be quite interesting and in depth…if it’s all true of course!

Bayonetta deserves a much better send of than 3 and the Viola saga. Hopefully we can see this series continue on, there’s still a space for these action games and the wild universe that is Bayonetta

I hear ya! Gaming has become both expensive and overwhelming at the same time. There’s are so many good games to play but all on limited time these days. My backlog gives me some mild anxiety..but hey it’s all gonna be on Switch 2 so what’s the rush now right? Laika:Aged Through Blood takes a unique approach to the Metroidvania genre. Guns x Motocross??..and somehow it works beautifully. Take your time with the game , there’s some beautiful artwork throughout the game and the characters and stories are interesting, impactful and disturbing altogether. Cool game, it’s underrated and I hope more ppl experience it. I think you have the right approach with just enjoying the games and not speed running through them just to say you’ve completed them. I’m sure Nintendo intends for Switch 2 to enjoy atleast another 5-8 yrs cycle so there’s time. That backlog will really come in handy during game release lulls or when your on a particularly long trip…who knows!? There’s no prize for completing your backlog but as a consumer , you owe it to yourself to play and experience the software you have purchased!
