@Yalloo
Happy Birthday 🥳. to you! Hope you are enjoying your day!
@Ganner
Getting older is both amazing and sucky. It’s tough watching our parents and family members slowing down. This is life! All u can do is enjoy the time as much as you can while you can.
@Eduard_Brenton, @OorWullie
It’s funny looking back at the Game Gear and to have ppl complain about battery life of 4-5 hrs on their fully portable home consoles in 2025 😝
I finished Act 3 in SilkSong I’m at 98% completion. What a masterpiece. I can’t recall being this focused on 1 game in some time. It’s fun and challenging in the sense where few games create the same level of accomplishment. A beautiful game that’s not meant for everyone.
Not sure what I’ll start next, perhaps a mix of Hades 2 and Outer Worlds 2. Could be a sequel weekend! End of the year gaming rush is legit and hard to believe Metroid Prime 4 is out in a few weeks.
It’s getting colder outside-hot chocolate and a spliff kind of weather 😉!
SilkSong has been my main game since its release. I’m not a compulsive 100% completion type gamer but this is one of the rare ones.
I’ve added Hades 2, Absolum to the Backlog and I’m still cautiously optimistic about Metroid Prime 4 ..that motorcycle trailer really kind of “cheapened “ my expectations for the game even going in with Switch 1 considerations. I’m sure it’ll be another banger! 😬
Think I’m going to close out my Gamepass sub in 2026 as gaming costs are hyper inflating! Pretty crazy the new Xbox Ally Rog is pretty much the cost of 2 Switch 2’s! Nintendo truly disrupted the industry with their hybrid console.
Have a superb weekend everyone and appreciate your time as if it’s borrowed!
Silksong has been the only the game I’ve been playing. This game is a marriage between beauty and brutal and fun and frustration and yet..I love it! I’m in Act 2 currently looking to track down 1 last food item (Courier’s Rasher) for the food snob of Pharloom. I just beat Lugoli…which was quite the challenge! I do have Hades 2 already downloaded but I’m gonna wait on that one until my Silksong addiction has subsided.
@GregamanX Ah yes..The Last Judge. Probably the 1st wall I hit in the game. Don’t give up…the fight is a bit of a marathon, once u are familiar with their move set you can slow the fight down so to speak. Worst part about that fight was the traversal!…one of the more annoying bench placements in the game for sure. Best of luck to you!..if I’m not mistaken you are Canadian so “elbows up”!! 😆
On a side note it’s a bit sad watching Xbox self destruct its own brand. I do own a Series X but it’s looking like my last console I’m buying from Microsoft. Competition is a good thing but it’s clear there’s no more Big 3 in gaming. It looks like it’s down to just Sony and Nintendo now.
Happy Gaming everyone, enjoy this weekend like it’s your last!
@poyo_pie Yeah I’m not expecting the game to be an outright bad game. 7 is still a good game but I’d love for this review as a 9 or higher! I’m just prepared for the hype to settle down and you know these licensed games don’t typically review very well so I could see this being a 7 or less. My hype is currently “must play” but could see it dropping too “wait for a sale”
@Tyranexx The game is a masterpiece. It’s an absolute steal at that price. If you like Greek Mythology then I’d be running and not walking to grab Hades 1 right now
@Teksette This was also my 1st World problem. After seeing the high praises…November seems too far away so I too will be double dipping in this economy 😆
I’m still so locked into SilkSong right now I don’t think I’ll even start Hades 2 until after I’ve completed SilkSong.
@electrolite77 2025 turned out to be a banger of a year. It didn’t start out as such but as the release dates started trickling in…this was actually an amazing year for gaming. Between DK Bananza, Hades 2 and Silksong you have arguably 3 “perfect score” games all released within 2 months of each other. Claire Expeditions 33 could be GOTY, if Metroid Prime 4 delivers than 2025 could be one of the best years in gaming
Gamers are getting spoiled in 2025. Between the launch of Switch 2 (DK Bananza, MKW) games such as Claire Expedition 33, Silksong and Hades 2 being released weeks of each other, Ghost of Yotei, Kirby’s Air Ride and MP4 for example still enroute. Rounding out 2025 has turned out to be an all timer
@Riku3456 , @MischiefMaker
That series is easily one of the best visual novels ever. Definitely agree playing 999 is definitely worth it. Those games will take your mind’s virginity 😝! Which reminds me I need to to start the AI:Somnium series at some point
Singing along to Silksong…a song about joy and pain! It really is a superb game, at $20 this could be one of the best value GOTY candidates ever. Somehow I’m still playing Ace Combat 7, I’m on the final level but have not given the game much time of late. Looking forward to Hades 2 next week..just need to decide whether to buy it digitally or wait for that physical release in November. 1st World problems right there.
My Xbox Series X has again gone up in price! It’s bizarre watching this gen unfold, usually consoles reduce in price and get smaller versions released after 5 years. Those were the days!
Strains on deck: Red Congo , Girl Scout Cookies and Root Beer Float 😮💨There’s an actual strain called “Living Sativa Loca!” I need to sit on the board of strain naming 😂
The game is both beautiful and brutal. It can be challenging but it’s not unfair. If you played through the original Hollow Knight then your expectations regarding difficulty should already be set. I know the “Git Good” argument isn’t fair to apply here but I would recommend this game for seasoned gamers. If you played games in the 80s and 90s then you should have enough skill, patience and appreciation of the level of difficulty this game offers. It’s hard but it’s not impossible
I’m thoroughly enjoying my SilkSong playthrough. It already feels like another masterpiece. It’s challenging but so much fun to play. It’s mind blowing it’s only $20
@MH4 Cosmic Ghost Rider is a really cool character choice. Glad you know your comics! I actually have the latest Cosmic Ghost Rider series but have yet to read it. This game is looking pretty dope so far, I’d imagine some future DLC should round out a pretty beefy roster
Many people seem to be over reacting to the trailer but I get it…the open world concept doesn’t suit Metroid, gamers want that classic “claustrophobic” isolating Metroid of past. To be honest for whatever reason I think there may be a separate bike mode in the game. There’s definitely some Samus bike interaction in the main campaign but I don’t recall the game being labeled as Open World during development. I’d recommend waiting until it’s released before writing it off!
Glad I waited for a patch before starting this one. Playing NES Ninja Gaiden as a kid was like earning a degree in twitch reflexes, gruelling platforming, enemy respawn and boss attack patterns. Its likely a major reason I can enjoy challenging games like SilkSong
This game could be my new Hollow Knight whereas it was critically acclaimed, widely beloved and although I’ve played very little…nothing seemed to grab me about this game so for now it’s a bit overrated to me. (I love Hollow Knight now after getting over a some slow starts). I’m beginning to really value my backlog amongst the changing landscape of modern gaming. It’s really cool to see this game still being supported after all these years, this dev deserves his flowers. So I do hope to finally give the game a proper play
@Ganner ,@jfp HUNTDOWN is a superb modern day throwback to the 2D side scrolling shoot em’ ups! If you can play the game in 2 player mode it really shines there. It would have been awesome if it had online co op. The new Terminator game gives me similar vibes ..I’m hoping it reviews well. We need a HUNTDOWN 2!
I’m still on the tail end of Ace Combat 7 and absolutely enjoying my Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough. I’m definitely getting Silk Song next week and with Hades 2, Outer Worlds 2 and MP4 still due this year it’s a stacked end to the year.
StRaIns on DeCk—Kush Mints, Pineapple Express and Comatose 😮💨
I’m still thoroughly enjoying my playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077. They really did a great job optimizing it for the Switch 2. I’ve also been clearing up some backlog as I’m nearing the end of Ace Combat 7. Can’t wait to see these boards once SilkSong drops in 2 weeks! 🤡
On Xbox I’m going to continue playing through some Gamepass games…there’s a ton of value on it right now and looking forward to Outer Worlds 2 …would love a Switch 2 port!
Strains on deck: Jealousy , Fruity Loopz and Comatose 😮💨

@Solomon_Rambling I hear you thoroughly. I’ve said it before…I really disliked the game initially, wrote it off as overhyped! I decided to give it one more try and now it’s one of my all time favourites games. There’s a mood to the game that’s not going to appeal to everyone but it truly is a masterpiece.
Aha…I found you Jim Ryan! 😝…if Cyberpunk 2077 runs on Switch 2 than a properly optimized Elden Ring should run just fine. Might want to reserve judgement until the fully playable version is released…it’s definitely not a final build if they aren’t allowing any footage to be taken
@SpaceboyScreams Sadly, this exactly. This demo actually killed any anticipation I had for this game. This is not what I bought a Switch 2 for …the experience feels as if this game was designed for the Wii U. Definitely nothing next gen about it
The game looks good however the controls feel a bit stiff. It has potential but there’s a smoothness to the game that’s missing and this demo hasn’t won me over tbh.
First! 🤓 I’m glad this game is coming to Switch 2 tho. Looks pretty solid! I wouldn’t mind a Dead Space remaster on Switch 2, this game is giving off similar vibes
This makes sense…with the N-Zap and Super Scope they could laser target kids all day! Seriously though it would be cool if they could reintroduce something like “laser tag” for kids but using new Nintendo N-Zap peripheral
@ImpromptuR Say what now? I’m not judging anything about this game, just mentioned the fact it took 15 years to develop and the devs stuck with it…as in they didn’t “cave in”.
Was wondering the same as this does lineup with a pre launch leak regarding how they plan to focus initially on their 1st party offerings (MK World, DK Bananza), followed by a window to let their partners and 3rd parties (Elden Ring,Hades II,Silksong…) get some shine. Then finally close the launch year out with the remaining 1st party titles (MP4, Kirby’s Air Ride).
So far this is playing out as such. I do believe this is a good spot for atleast Hades II being that the Direct is only 15 mins long . They may highlight 1-2 bangers during this Direct. Or nothing even remotely close to any of our expectations 😂
After more than 8 years I think it’s finally time to get ARMS. Now is a good time for game collectors to get those Switch 1 physical copies before they start sky rocketing in price once the Switch 2 era is in full swing
@PJOReilly Oh man…you had me at Vanquish (which was pretty much near the end of the article….so u actually had me at Rumour:!) How insanely cool would a remaster followed up with a Vanquish 2 Switch 2 announcement be?
Still smashing my way through DK Bananza it’s an outstanding video game! It truly is a unique gameplay experience. Ppl want to compare it to Mario Odyssey because of the dev team? Understandable. They’re the same but different. The same elite level quality and gameplay. Different games. Both to be enjoyed!
I downloaded Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound on a whim and thankfully it’s receiving critical acclaim. However I hear the Switch 2 version requires a patch so I may wait on that. Where’s the review NL? 😝
Going to dive into Gamepass on the Xbox Series X…perhaps Microsoft’s last true home console?? There really is some great value on there right now, still need to finish Indy!
Have a great, enjoyable weekend and a long weekend depending where you live 😉
Strains on deck: Lamb’s Bread( it’s been years!) Pink Death and some classic Girl Scout Cookies 😮💨
@ear_wig D’oh!! It’s also out on Gamepass so I think I’ll play it there 1st and wait for a S2 patch. There is no reason for it to be running at 30 FPS on the Switch 2
I downloaded Ninja Gaiden 🥷 off the whim so hoping it’s a good game. I didn’t know it’s on physical as well so if it’s a really good game I might have to double dip! I’m hoping it’s not capped at 30 FPS on Switch 2 tho!
@Ganner I believe on console Hades 2 is gonna be a timed exclusive on Switch 2 as well! I’ve got about 100 hrs on Hades so I feel your anxiety!..maybe double that cuz Silksong is also a day 1 for me! Hades 2 and Silksong in the same year could make for one the greatest Metroidvania years ever. All hail the eternal backlog!! 🥴
Donkey Kong Bananza like just about everyone else. It truly is a special game, never played anything quite like it. With only 4 months left in the year it’s going to be a very business end to 2025. Metroid Prime 4, Elden Ring:Tarnished Edition, Silksong, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Kirby’s Air Ride, Hades II…it really will be quite the launch year for Switch 2!
@Teksette Im at the same part of the story in Cyberpunk:2077. You hit the same wall I did. She’s cute!! I just beat her and it was an intense fight. Try targeting her back to start, and stay on the move and keep unloading! 😉

D’oh!! It’s also out on Gamepass so I think I’ll play it there 1st and wait for a S2 patch. There is no reason for it to be running at 30 FPS on the Switch 2
Re: Nintendo Download: 1st August (North America)
I downloaded Ninja Gaiden 🥷 off the whim so hoping it’s a good game. I didn’t know it’s on physical as well so if it’s a really good game I might have to double dip! I’m hoping it’s not capped at 30 FPS on Switch 2 tho!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (26th July)
@Ganner
I believe on console Hades 2 is gonna be a timed exclusive on Switch 2 as well! I’ve got about 100 hrs on Hades so I feel your anxiety!..maybe double that cuz Silksong is also a day 1 for me! Hades 2 and Silksong in the same year could make for one the greatest Metroidvania years ever. All hail the eternal backlog!! 🥴
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (26th July)
@Teksette
Im at the same part of the story in Cyberpunk:2077. You hit the same wall I did. She’s cute!! I just beat her and it was an intense fight. Try targeting her back to start, and stay on the move and keep unloading! 😉
