@Scoopz
I’m a XSX owner as well and you’re right it is a shame! I love the Xbox controller the same way, they just never recovered from the Xbox one DRM fiasco and here we are! At this rate it makes you wonder what’s the point of buying future Xbox hardware with all their games and exclusivity going multi plat? I’m all for Xbox gaming options on Nintendo platforms tho. If anything this will make Sony become even more complacent without the competition.
@StewdaMegaManNerd Ain’t that the truth! I also find that really challenging games inspire some very creative profanity!…I’ve swore at a Tv screen in ways I’d never imagined using on a human. It builds character and new ways of applying foul language at inanimate objects. 😝
@Eduard_Brenton Wow that’s really cool! I do wish u good luck at the festival. Ironically one way to stand out amongst your fellow stand up comedians is to sit on a chair. I will show myself out now
@Rykdrew Metroid Prime..or the Metroid series in general isn’t for everyone. It’s not meant to play as an FPS…as Nintendo considers it more of a First Person Adventure game. It’s all about feeling a sense of isolation and exploration and mind you…it was designed over 20 years ago! Nothing wrong with venting if you don’t like something!
@Ganner I’m still enjoying my play through of Ace Combat 7 there’s a funny glitch on the mission 444 where if you fail the mission you hear the guy repeatedly say “Shut up!…Shut up!” …cracked me up every time
I’m still playing thru Laika: Aged Through Blood and getting covered in Bird guts and loving it! I’m sure I’ll mix in some more Ace Combat 7 as well but I’ve also returned to Hollow Knight to finish up some post game content…this game is still a special gem…it didn’t click with me for sometime but it became one of my all time favs after giving it a proper go.
Also I’m probably the only one who’ll be playing Xenoblade X:Chronicles on the Wii U you cowards!!! Nothing more definitive than the original way to play the game. I was getting close to the end but never did finish it. The Wii U gamepad is the true OG Switch 😝
We are getting close to the Switch 2 reveal…gonna be funny looking back on all the speculation and hype once the dust settles.
Enjoy the 1st weekend of Spring!…and the last weekend to earn them Gold Points!
@MrCarlos46 I believe the Gold Points always had a 12 month expiration date. Nintendo wasnt gonna let us just sit on those points…you have to pay them back to Nintendo within 1 yr…insert Rihanna’s “B*tch better have my money!” 😝
Seems a lot of ppl are confused about this. They are ending the ability to EARN Gold points on the 24th. You can still spend your existing Gold Points after March 24. You just have to use them within 12 months of earning them.
@Theghostofkeithmoon This would seem like an obvious gameplay option to include the mouse functionality. Nintendo could once again further evolve FPS gameplay (even though they consider the Prime series as First Person Adventure). From aiming, and looking around and solving puzzles, switch between weapons the mouse functionality makes complete sense for Metroid Prime 4 and with showcase using MP4 as a …Prime example ( couldn’t help myself!)
Only a couple weeks to go before the big Switch 2 reveal. Soon all the speculation will turn into Switch 2 facts!
I’ve been playing Laika: Aged Through Blood🩸 It is one banger of a Metroidvania…it’s bloody, it’s brutal and has me hating Birds at the moment! The music just might be the best surprise about this game. Do not sleep on this one!
I’ve finally jumped into Ace Combat 7 and it is one solid port! There really aren’t a lot of air combat flight simulators on Switch 1. It’s got Top Gun vibes and shows how far games have come since classics like AfterBurner
Shout out to Gold Points on Switch , it was a nice incentive and reward for buying Physical games. I have a bunch saved up so I’ll spend it wisely as the Switch winds down. I’m not surprised if they’re non transferable to our Switch 2 accounts.
Have a great weekend everyone! Spring is almost upon us! As is the Switch Deux! 😉
I’m guessing it’s either $429 or $449! Ironically I have a thread running in the forums discussing the potential for the Switch 2 launch to be the biggest launch ever. I think it’s gonna be a record breaking launch.
This is pretty lame. Hopefully they announce a successor program for Switch 2. Now they mentioned our points expire after 12 months…is there any way to see an expiry date or do we get a notification?
@Iasaha I know exactly what you mean. It sounds odd for what’s essentially a bullet hell twin stick rogue-like but it’s definitely got a rhythm to it. I never imagined I’d consider it gaming comfort food but I’m at that point now. The game really does have an endless gameplay loop
@Bydlak Ah Ha! Ok thank you for confirming I’m not crazy lol. Yeah I remember that article now…I’m assuming this means the DLC will essentially become Katana Zero 2….err…Katana One perhaps? That was 4 years ago already…this game is a lowkey Silksong 😝
@Overzeal Yeah not sure what you’re looking at…let alone complaining about a game you’ve never played or actually seen does come off as ignorant. To each their own but you’re gonna miss out on a ton of gems with that approach
@Olliemar28 Thanks for the review! I forgot about this game as it disappeared from the Eshop. I’m glad I snagged it on the final day of the sale! Up there with the likes of Hollow Knight is certainly high praise. Do we know why the game was pulled for over a year?
@Markatron84 Mario Wonder really is quite the treat. It’s really cool to see the full evolution of classic 2D Mario. It is interesting how they’ve been able to expand on the Marioverse with all the playable characters available, the series has come along way but is still true to its roots! Astro Bot is a great game but ppl who think it has somehow surpassed Mario are out of their bleeping minds!
Ironically I’ve also yet to play Portal/Portal 2, they’ve been collecting digital dust in the backlog but I am looking forward to finally playing them.
I’ve finally started Mario Wonder and it’s been as fun and creative as expected. I’m sorry Astro Bot but Mario is still the epitome platform gaming. I’ve also gotten back into Enter the Gungeon! This game is comfort food gaming for me. Simple yet hard to master ya know?
I’ve already added Laika: Aged Through Blood to the backlog, looking forward to trying it out.
On Xbox Series X it’s been more Indiana Jones, Ninja Gaiden mixed in with some Lonely Mountains Downhill.
Strains on deck are Fruity Loopz , LA Kush Cake and some classic Girl Scout Cookies 🥴💨
@OorWullie It was bait. Nintendo hasn’t officially announced MK9 so I’m assuming that was purely a teaser. That was a hardware reveal! No software will be revealed until April. I was disappointed initially but realized that was a smart play from Nintendo. I don’t think what we saw was a final product by any means. I’m crossing the hell out of my fingers btw 😂. I know your not expecting 4K levels of upgrade either but the next Mario Kart should look much better than MK8 at the least in 2025
I’ve been saying it would be neat if they introduced the Wonder Seed to Mario Kart. Would be cool to see tracks get completely warped during sections. Could add some unique twists and strategy to the game
@OorWullie I get ppl are excited for a new Mario Kart entry but this looked so underwhelming. Not sure what ppl are gushing over..this LOOKS like the same Wii U game we’ve been playing for over a decade now. I’m hoping it’s not the final build as well and the April Direct shows a better looking version cuz that was pretty lacklustre in the reveal
I’m not going to lie I just figured SilkSong would be a Switch 2 launch title at this point. It makes complete sense. Ppl will literally poo if they announce a SilkSong edition Switch..😂...Amiibo perhaps? Not surprised at all if SilkSong is in the April Direct
@progx Yes! A Shield TV box would be pretty neat from Nintendo. It would make a lot of sense, NVIDIA would adore the opportunity to get their parts in another Nintendo console..NVIDIA Shield was underrated so it could be the perfect marriage to reintroduce Nintendo style
@progx I’m just thinking Nintendo is looking at like they have 150M+ Switch 1 devices out. They’re going to find a way to continue to implement its use. As a potential 2nd screen for Switch 2 it could hopefully maintain some value and give ppl a reason to continue using both systems, there are already a ton of Switch systems in households …it’s a massive foundation they can lay into still
Ppl saying their going to sell off their Switch 1 should hold off…there’s a chance Nintendo could still implement Switch 1+2 compatibility as a 2nd screen gameplay option.
Since when did Uncle_Franklin become Aunty Debbie Downer?😝 I mean they haven’t even announced much at all…maybe wait for some games and the full reveal before writing the system off? Just seems a tad premature for the negativity is all I’m saying
I would thoroughly enjoy Nintendo not announcing anything this week JUST to spite these clout chasing , leaker culture leaches 😂. No idea why sites are running with this “rumour” like it came from Nintendo itself. Nintendo pulling the rug from under us is exactly what the impatient masses need! So much butthurt if Nintendo doesn’t announce anything this Thursday and ppl have no one other then themselves to blame!
@obijuankanoobie, @BringleWorkshop
So random you both mention Sunset Riders, I’ve been considering purchasing it via the Eshop. Nostalgia is something else!…I remember the game in arcades. I remember trying to rent the SNES version at Blockbuster but it was ALWAYS rented out. Great co op 90s game…I also recall a picture on the back of the box with them running atop the bulls! 😝 Hopefully the game still holds up?!
@Ganner
That post cracked me up! @Zuljaras…always cool seeing a nice diversity of games over many systems, genres ! In case I missed it, the real question should be..what deal with the devil did you strike to ensure you’re the #1 post every single weekend?? 😝
@Ganner
I did try out Snowrunner btw…i can see its bizarre allure. I didn’t make it too far in but it has no business making getting stuck in mud and navigating rough terrain as intriguing as it does!! 😆
Didn’t Nintendo implement an “anti leak” system throughout the entire corporations some years back? They’d partnered with a firm that specializes in keeping things tight lipped. I’m almost thinking Nintendo is now just sitting back watching where the leaks are coming from and cutting future ties or reprimanding those sources.
@WiltonRoots 😂 This is pure comedy!!! Thanks for retrieving this gem of a post. Nintendolife should host a “Where Are They Now?!” Forum. This just goes to show all these predictions and leaks are absolutely meaningless. We know nothing!
@WiltonRoots It would make for some interesting reading looking back on these predictions, “leaks” and just people’s general reactions. There’s an easy write up for you Nintendolife! I remember all the NX hype and mock ups. This time around the internet is even more obsessive!
These leaks have brought out some passionate fans/trolls! I’m taking these leaks with a grain of salt, I’ll just wait for Nintendo to officially announce it. I’ll still be genuinely surprised when it’s revealed. It’s been entertaining seeing how emotional ppl are about these leaks tho 😂
@OorWullie I never understood why Nintendo didn’t get more credit for Glasses free 3D. 3D effect can be useful in gaming as Nintendo proved with the 3DS. I’d be all for it, kind of a nice feature when playing in portable. Pretty useless for those who play docked only tho.
@AussieMcBucket The French reporter isn’t saying much. He’s simply highlighting how the magnetic joycons are a main new feature. He mentions the new C button on the right joy con and that it may launch as soon as April. He notes how it’s noticeably bigger than Switch 1 but that’s about the gist of it. He’s not saying anything new that you can’t see with your eyes.
Nintendo now owns the Astral Chain IP if I’m not mistaken so I don’t believe a sequel hinges on Platinums approval or direct involvement. Hopefully we do get a sequel but we all know Nintendo IPs can go dormant.
@Arkay, @CammyUnofficial I managed to finish Outer Worlds this weekend. Got the ‘best ending’ and really enjoyed the game. Fingers crossed Switch 2 will be beefy enough for “Outer World 2”. I’m holding out hope as they did a great job scaling it down for Switch 1. Definitely an engaging and unique FPS adventure!
@SonnyBonds Lol…haven’t seen that name in ages. I had Police Quest 1-3, remember playing it on my dad’s Dell computer. It would be cool if they re released the Sierra classics. Space Quest was another classic.
Finishing up the Outer Worlds. Late to the party but this has been a great game. Here’s hoping Switch 2 will run Outer Worlds 2. It’s a great science fiction space adventure romp but with moral and ethical implications at the gamers helm.
I’ve purchased Little Nightmares 1. I played 2 first for whatever reason. Some creepy games! I’ll give Yakuza Kiwami a go in due time and I finally grabbed The Touryst, been on my list for years just never got around to it. Really love the aesthetic of this game, hope it’s good!
On a side note I won my fantasy football league …with a big payout so it’s been a nice way to start the year !! 😝 🏈 💰
@WiltonRoots
Violent you say?? I’m new to Yakuza series as well, nice to hear you’re enjoying it!
@JohnnyMind
Happy bday!! So do tell us how do manage to play so many games…I kid!! 😝 I hope you’re enjoying your day and getting sauced!
Strains on deck-Munnyuns~a hybrid crossed with another strain called Monkey Spunk (Don’t ask who names these!) 😂, LA Kush Cake and classic Rockstar
Happy New Year everyone! Big treat for us gamers with the Switch successor this year! For any Forum members I did recently start a topic regarding Switch 2 :Your fears or concerns with us getting closer to a reveal and navigating these leaks/rumours
This sounds exhausting. Why are ppl choosing to do this to themselves? I get it’s fun to guesstimate on specs and features prior to a new console release but in the end these spec details don’t really matter. When playing a great or even your favorite games no one is thinking about 3nm or 5nm anything, you don’t play games because of teraflops…think about it, you don’t even replay a game for its graphics. There’s a lot of room for unnecessary disappointment when you start believing every rumour, when it comes to Nintendo tech it’s always smarter to temper your expectations. Besides, features like DLSS will never define a gaming console, the games do and always will.
I’ve somehow fallen back into Monster Hunter Rise. I’m currently grinding through Anomaly Investigations before I take on Amatsu. Still have quite the backlog to clear but I’ve been wanting to replay Astral Chain, really hope it gets a sequel on Switch Deux. Shout to Nile Bowie for picking up KILL KNIGHT, one of my underrated games of 2024.
On Xbox series X still playing thru Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, just started Stalker 2 and Nine Sols, will get back to COD 6. Man…that’s quite a bit of Xbox gaming! Finally seeing this gen hit its stride.
It would be pretty interesting revisiting the history of the WAYP section throughout the Switch’s life cycle. 2025 will be the year of the Switch 2!…it will also be the year we start hearing about Switch 3 😝!!
Strain of the week-Blue Lobster 60. This took me straight to space 😝
Oh no! Yet another company has copied Nintendo but with more power!!! Nintendo is doomed! How many times are we going to go through this? Nintendo is over 100 yrs, do you really think copycat competitors are enough to take Nintendo down? As some have previously mentioned, between price point, exclusives and brand power theres no competition to the Switch. Nintendo is the only company with their business designed around gaming, and more importantly Family gaming. 146M+ Switches sold….theres no other dedicated handheld gaming device even remotely close to that install base. We’re already in the age of diminishing returns with the way home consoles are heading. Nintendo predicted this over 20 years ago. At the end of the day software is King and Nintendo are the King of exclusives and until that changes, it’s Nintendo…then there’s everyone else!
@RubyCarbuncle Yeah I’ve been rambling on about KILL KNIGHT for the past month lol. There aren’t to many quality new arcade shooters around and this game is just awesome. It’s much deeper in gameplay and player progression than you’d expect. It’s just great to play in short bursts or get lost in few runs! Hope you enjoy!
@OorWullie Turned based RPGs…it’s probably the only genre I don’t play. It’s a massive shame! It’s great to hear how much your enjoying Dragons Quest XI, it’s always a great feeling when a new/different genre of gaming opens up to you. I’m still hoping Fire Emblem: Awakening takes my V card in that sense! I’m going to have to look into the Dragon Quest series let alone a whole slew of turn based games I’m missing out on.
Lemon Haze…I just picture a smiling lemon wearing sunglasses! That’s how it hits! You can not go wrong with Runtz! Great choices and sounds like ur getting nice value! 😮💨
The Backlog Beatdown continues..I’ve completed some fairly difficult games of late. Most recently I just completed Cuphead and the DLC. I’ve finally started up Outer Worlds and I’ve been really enjoying it, not difficult but just a lot of fun and It’s been patched on Switch and the game runs quite well now.
@PepperMintRex Ah …finally someone brave enough to test the layers below Hell in KILL KNIGHT It’s quite the game! It’s an hard!..but addicting! I’m trying to survive Viscera at the moment 😬
@Yalloo If KILL KNIGHT is calling you..make sure to return the call! It’s an excellent twin stick arcade shooter. It will really call on all your years of gaming experience and reflexes to master. It’s a challenging game so be prepared. The game has that “just one more run” pedigree in its gameplay. It’s brutal but lots of fun! Easily one of the best twin sticks around.

It would make for some interesting reading looking back on these predictions, “leaks” and just people’s general reactions. There’s an easy write up for you Nintendolife! I remember all the NX hype and mock ups. This time around the internet is even more obsessive!
Re: Is This Our Best Look Yet At 'Switch 2'?
These leaks have brought out some passionate fans/trolls! I’m taking these leaks with a grain of salt, I’ll just wait for Nintendo to officially announce it. I’ll still be genuinely surprised when it’s revealed. It’s been entertaining seeing how emotional ppl are about these leaks tho 😂

@OorWullie
I never understood why Nintendo didn’t get more credit for Glasses free 3D. 3D effect can be useful in gaming as Nintendo proved with the 3DS. I’d be all for it, kind of a nice feature when playing in portable. Pretty useless for those who play docked only tho.

@AussieMcBucket
The French reporter isn’t saying much.
Re: Bayonetta Veteran Confirms PlatinumGames Departure
@NinChocolate
Nintendo now owns the Astral Chain IP if I’m not mistaken so I don’t believe a sequel hinges on Platinums approval or direct involvement. Hopefully we do get a sequel but we all know Nintendo IPs can go dormant.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (4th January)
@Arkay, @CammyUnofficial
I managed to finish Outer Worlds this weekend. Got the ‘best ending’ and really enjoyed the game. Fingers crossed Switch 2 will be beefy enough for “Outer World 2”. I’m holding out hope as they did a great job scaling it down for Switch 1. Definitely an engaging and unique FPS adventure!
@SonnyBonds
Lol…haven’t seen that name in ages. I had Police Quest 1-3, remember playing it on my dad’s Dell computer. It would be cool if they re released the Sierra classics. Space Quest was another classic.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (4th January)
@WiltonRoots
Violent you say?? I’m new to Yakuza series as well, nice to hear you’re enjoying it!
@JohnnyMind
Re: Tech Fans Have Gone Full 'Layton' In Analysing The 'Switch 2' Motherboard
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (New Year Edition)
Have a Happy New Year everyone!
Re: Surprise Leak Reveals Lenovo Is Releasing Another Switch-Like Gaming Handheld
@NinChocolate
I’m pegging this as the price point as well!
Re: Surprise Leak Reveals Lenovo Is Releasing Another Switch-Like Gaming Handheld
Re: PSA: Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Is On Sale For Just $15 (US)
Insane value. This is a AAA Metroidvania, one of the best ever and a GOTY contender . You’ve spent more on pure Eshop fodder.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (7th December)
@RubyCarbuncle
Yeah I’ve been rambling on about KILL KNIGHT for the past month lol. There aren’t to many quality new arcade shooters around and this game is just awesome. It’s much deeper in gameplay and player progression than you’d expect. It’s just great to play in short bursts or get lost in few runs! Hope you enjoy!
@OorWullie
Turned based RPGs…it’s probably the only genre I don’t play.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (7th December)
@PepperMintRex
Ah …finally someone brave enough to test the layers below Hell in KILL KNIGHT It’s quite the game! It’s an hard!..but addicting! I’m trying to survive Viscera at the moment 😬
@Yalloo
If KILL KNIGHT is calling you..make sure to return the call!
