Re: PlatinumGames Hints At Another Project G.G. Reveal Next Year

Rainz

Astral Chain 2 would be sweet! I do believe it’s now a Nintendo owned IP so I imagine it would be a Nintendo announcement if it ever comes to fruition. I think it’s cool they hired the Nintendo Marketing sales executive…clearly both companies have a similar culture and philosophy to making games. Always wanted Nintendo to just buy Platinum but really there’s no need they work well as partners as is. Anyway, this is making me wanna go play Astral Chain now 😂

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 23rd)

Rainz

@BlackMayge

Your feelings deceive you! Sunbreak is definitely still getting played…there’s just so many great gaming options in general , plus a lot of Xenoblade, Live A Live and Splatoon hype at the moment. I’m still grinding my way through Sunbreak…it’s a great expansion so far and I’m only on MR4!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 16th)

Rainz

@BlackMayge

Monster Hunter series is definitely a unique gaming experience. You’re absolutely right, the game has many systems and gameplay mechanics to learn. Once it all clicks, it really opens up the game. The one recommendation I’d say is to not discount the multiplayer aspect. You can argue the game is at its peak when being enjoyed in multiplayer. Once your comfortable enough with the game definitely give it a try. It has a great community of gamers, you can really learn some things from other hunters. Good hunting to ya! Oh ya btw…Bayonetta is one of the finest action series you’ll ever play.

Re: Review: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak - A Deliciously Difficult, Must-Have Expansion

Rainz

Initially I was a bit skeptical with it being a pricey for some DLC, just started digging into the game and it really does improve on the base game in just about every way. The difficulty really has been upped, old monsters have new bags of tricks…they really are trying to kill you this time around. Looking forward to getting deeper into this expansion, Capcom has done a great job supporting the franchise.

@AmplifyMJ
13 years! I still remember the moment I heard the news! I was in shock!…he passed in the exact same way he vowed to avoid, as another victim of fame. Sad irony! I’ll bump some MJ today 💯!

@JasmineDragon
That reply cracked me up! I’m sure u weren’t the only one wondering how they were managing to play THAT many titles over THAT many consoles every single weekend. @nhSnork…was beginning to believe your ambitious gaming was simply your career!

Oh on a final note..if Nintendo doesn’t drop a Direct next week can we chill out on the hate and disappointment?? Nintendo hasnt announced or promised anything at this point. Stop being caught up in the false expectations of others! Enjoy your lives, a Direct will happen when it happens! Treat it as a pleasant surprise.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 25th)

Rainz

I’ll continue my playthrough of Subnautica, really enjoying the game experience. I recently found a bunch of DS/3DS games I thought were lost. There’s a ton of titles like Zelda Spirit Tracks, Contra 4, even found the entire 999 series so looking fwd to get getting reacquainted with my 3DS.

I caved and purchased TMNT and finally got AI The Somnium Files 1 on the cheap from the Big Ol Super Sale. Now..just waiting for Obra Din to go on sale…will Rebel Galaxy Outlaw ever go on sale?

As per usual this weekend will include some excellent dining, time with friends, top grade strains on deck are Pink Death, Gods Green Crack and LA Kush Cake!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 11th)

Rainz

I have not been gaming much at all of late but it’s been kinda nice taking a bit of a break. If I get any gaming in it’ll likely be “diving” back into Subnautica…other than that really no plans for gaming. I’m sure my weekend will be spent enjoying some good food, might catch up on some Comics…my strains on deck this weekend are some classic Super Silver Haze, LA Kush Cake, Death Bubba and some seriously potent Nitro Cookies!

Have a great weekend!

Re: New Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Weapon Showcases Have 100% More Insect Glaive

Rainz

@MeloMan

I’ve never tried the Bow out yet, kinda love the plethora of gameplay options Monster Hunter series provides! I’ll def have to try a bow or one of the bowgun options …I like the Glaives ability to be both long range and up close and personal, I’ll have to try some of the distance based weapons out. Some of these new monsters look like a handful

Re: Capcom Reports Another Year Of Record-High Sales And Profits

Rainz

@Enriesto

If your curious about jumping into the MH series I’d say MH Rise is the most accessible entry yet. I highly recommend you give the game a try, it’s a massive series with a vast amount of gameplay options for everyone. There is definitely a learning curve but it’s a rewarding game, nothing beats hunting with friends, one of gaming finest multiplayer experiences. Once it sinks it’s teeth in you …you’re a Monster Hunter for life!

Re: Team Cherry (Kind Of) Shares Update About Development Status Of Hollow Knight: Silksong

Rainz

@FishyS

I have the same relationship with Hollow Knight, it’s an amazing game…excellent music, really creepy, dark but super cool atmosphere….but I have no idea where am at or exactly what I’m even suppose to doing. I always promise I’ll go back to it and finally commit to playing it thru but naw…I need a GPS update lol. I’ll get to it eventually tho…might lightly use a guide tho! In much the same manner I’m pretty hyped for song Silksong…not 100% sure why but I’ll just roll with it

Re: Dying Light Switch Patch Includes "A Number Of Tweaks, Updates, And New Features"

Rainz

So I downloaded the update and it’s got bugs in it…I now hit zombies and they start dying in slow motion…or even started floating in the air and will stay there. I can still loot then or use the corpses for camouflage but this update is a buggy mess! Also seems like zombies are far more resistant. They now require 2-3 headshots? I dunno , glad they are still supporting the game but this update needs more time in the oven

Re: Bethesda Sale Kicks Off On Switch eShop, Up To 67% Off Doom, Skyrim, Wolfenstein

Rainz

@JustMonika
Mass Effect x Fallout:New Vegas is quite the mashup! Thanks for the comparison, much better idea of what to expect of The Outer Worlds now

@Nancyboy
Welcome to the club! Looks like the team has assembled…us yet to play Skyrim folk need to stick together!…all 5 of us! Now all we need is a Tree house as our base of operations lol

@BlueGBAMicro
The game sounds better the more I hear of it. Sounds like it runs pretty well on the Switch! It’s moved up some notches on my Backlog list.

@MischiefMaker
Perhaps I’ll break the Oath and finally give the game a go. With BOTW 2 delayed it might be a good time to try Skyrim. The game seems almost too massive to complete but maybe playing in snippets is the way to go. I guess the game looked a bit robotic being over 10 years old, but sounds like it’s still worth while experience

Re: Bethesda Sale Kicks Off On Switch eShop, Up To 67% Off Doom, Skyrim, Wolfenstein

Rainz

@BlueGBAMicro, @JustMonika

I’ve had Outer Worlds for a long while now, have yet to make it to the title screen. Damn near forgot I even had it, I believe I was turned off by the initial bugs at launch , I’ve heard the game has been patched and improved. There’s is quite a bit of DLC support for this title, you guys might encourage me to finally unwrap the game and give it a go. I’ve got no idea what the game entails

Re: Bethesda Sale Kicks Off On Switch eShop, Up To 67% Off Doom, Skyrim, Wolfenstein

Rainz

@OorWullie, @stuntzombie, @kurtasbestos

I’m joining this newly formed club!…never played Skyrim either. I’m not really even considering it during this current sale. The game is a decade old, I’m sure it’s still a good game but maybe it’s time has passed me by. Perhaps with a larger discount I could be enticed. I did finally pick up QUAKE tho, I’m still without Doom1,2 and 64 tho so maybe I’ll feed the backlog.

Just 1 left…

Re: Best Twin Stick Shooters On Nintendo Switch

Rainz

How in the world did they leave RUINER off this list? RUINER is probably the biggest omission I could think of, not to mention one of the most underrated twin sticks around. Between story line, graphics and gameplay RUINER is absolutely worthy of this list. Without it , I’ll just go ahead and consider this list as….RUINED.

Re: Hands On: Nintendo Switch Sports Has Great Highs, But Disappointing Lows

Rainz

Ironically I just read a hands on write up randomly on CNN. The reviewer there was absolutely gushing over this game. He was talking about how much he’s already addicted to the game , literally made this game sound like a Must Buy lol. I played the demo as well , mixed bag is exactly what that experience was. Cool to see Nintendo still promoting motion controls and the joy con features but this is giving off Wii Music vibes already. Easy pass for moi

Re: E3 2022 Is Officially Cancelled

Rainz

Damn…so much hate towards E3! Sure there was a lot of corporate talk and filler over the last few years but it was still a celebration of the industry and the tech that accompanies it. Nintendo caught into this years ago hence the creation of Nintendo Directs however E3 was fun just for all the hype and “who win E3” fanboy battles. It was good in terms of offering “hands on” experiences to gamers. I’m not sure things like the Wii or DS/3DS could have been properly conveyed without a hands on showing such as E3. It’s not the end of the world but hopefully in the future there is a dedicated time of year for the gaming industry to create momentum and connect with its gamers.

Re: Nintendo Launches 'Indie Gems Sale', Up To 70% Off Top Titles (Europe)

Rainz

@OorWullie

I can highly recommend Katana Zero! It’s definitely got that Devolver Flavour, it’s got an engaging story and the gameplay mechanics are great. It’s on sale often but it’s absolutely worth the purchase. There is a rather sizeable free update we’ve all been eagerly awaiting so there’s so added value incoming. I put it off for some time , same as you and had Zero regrets once I finally purchased it.

Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Gets A Release Date And New amiibo

Rainz

Looks like this is the Switch’s Monster Hunter version of “IceBorne”. I’m looking forward to it, seems to be a fairly large expansion, I’ve put in over 100 hrs to the base game and I still have a ton of quests to compete still. Capcom has done a really good job with adding value and content…to bad the physical version will just include a download code for Sunbreak tho!

Re: Talking Point: Not A Mario Kart Tour Fan? Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Gives You The Best Of Both Worlds

Rainz

The definition of an ever green title. I have to give Nintendo credit, they really found a way to maximize an 8 yr old IP. Sadly this all but confirms no MK9 until the Switch predecessor is launched but this will easily rejuvenate this blockbuster hit. Even noticed MK8 is sitting #1 in weekly games Switch game sales …which is crazy in 2022, they marketed and placed the DLC with perfect timing for those Mar10 sales. What’s old is new again. Is this, Majoras Mask and F-Zero enough added value to convince those of us on the fence to bite on that online Expansion pak 🤔?!

Re: Reminder: MAR10 Day Sale Now Live On US Switch eShop, Mario Games Discounted

Rainz

A “victims of multiple purchases of MK8 across multiple platforms” support group is desperately needed…you and I will sit on the board for sure lol! Yes Im getting the blasted booster course packs as well…now I’m eyeing the online expansion pak as it seems like an improved value with the booster courses being added for “free”. Im just going to mail Nintendo my wallet with all my financial info at this point!

Fam had an absolute blast playing MK8 online with Uncles, aunts and cousins last night ….5 yrs later they’re asking me …”why didn’t we get this game earlier?!” So to make up for lost time I had to pay the price twice! SMH!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 12th)

Rainz

@Aozz101x

Glad to see quite a few ppl playing Luigis Mansion 3, ive been eager to jump back in that game , it’s criminally under appreciated and not sure many have taken the time to complete it. I just purchased the multiplayer pack so good excuse to jump back in!

Happy Gaming to u!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 12th)

Rainz

Recently got fleeced by Nintendo and caved and finally bought MK8 for Switch 😆. The fleecing occurred because I bought both a digital and physical version of the game. I already owned it on Wii U so they’ve now got me 3 times! Fam had a blast with it last night tho!

I’m continuing my play through of DYING LIGHT and recently started Deaths Door which so far has been a really cool and challenging game!

Went on a hunt with my son for 1st time in MONSTER HUNTER RISE and we had a great time smacking around some Monsters.

Might check out the newly released Disney film Turning Red if time allows. Ordered some smoked bbq for the weekend …it’s outrageously delicious and will indulge in some current strains on deck …L.A Kush Cake, Freshly Baked and some Plum Dosi 😉 Finally will probably grab some more Comics, the new PUNISHER series is off to an interesting start!

HaPpY GaMiNG!!
