Re: New Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Weapon Showcases Have 100% More Insect Glaive

Rainz

@MeloMan

I’ve never tried the Bow out yet, kinda love the plethora of gameplay options Monster Hunter series provides! I’ll def have to try a bow or one of the bowgun options …I like the Glaives ability to be both long range and up close and personal, I’ll have to try some of the distance based weapons out. Some of these new monsters look like a handful

Re: Capcom Reports Another Year Of Record-High Sales And Profits

Rainz

@Enriesto

If your curious about jumping into the MH series I’d say MH Rise is the most accessible entry yet. I highly recommend you give the game a try, it’s a massive series with a vast amount of gameplay options for everyone. There is definitely a learning curve but it’s a rewarding game, nothing beats hunting with friends, one of gaming finest multiplayer experiences. Once it sinks it’s teeth in you …you’re a Monster Hunter for life!

Re: Team Cherry (Kind Of) Shares Update About Development Status Of Hollow Knight: Silksong

Rainz

@FishyS

I have the same relationship with Hollow Knight, it’s an amazing game…excellent music, really creepy, dark but super cool atmosphere….but I have no idea where am at or exactly what I’m even suppose to doing. I always promise I’ll go back to it and finally commit to playing it thru but naw…I need a GPS update lol. I’ll get to it eventually tho…might lightly use a guide tho! In much the same manner I’m pretty hyped for song Silksong…not 100% sure why but I’ll just roll with it

Re: Dying Light Switch Patch Includes "A Number Of Tweaks, Updates, And New Features"

Rainz

So I downloaded the update and it’s got bugs in it…I now hit zombies and they start dying in slow motion…or even started floating in the air and will stay there. I can still loot then or use the corpses for camouflage but this update is a buggy mess! Also seems like zombies are far more resistant. They now require 2-3 headshots? I dunno , glad they are still supporting the game but this update needs more time in the oven

Re: Bethesda Sale Kicks Off On Switch eShop, Up To 67% Off Doom, Skyrim, Wolfenstein

Rainz

@JustMonika
Mass Effect x Fallout:New Vegas is quite the mashup! Thanks for the comparison, much better idea of what to expect of The Outer Worlds now

@Nancyboy
Welcome to the club! Looks like the team has assembled…us yet to play Skyrim folk need to stick together!…all 5 of us! Now all we need is a Tree house as our base of operations lol

@BlueGBAMicro
The game sounds better the more I hear of it. Sounds like it runs pretty well on the Switch! It’s moved up some notches on my Backlog list.

@MischiefMaker
Perhaps I’ll break the Oath and finally give the game a go. With BOTW 2 delayed it might be a good time to try Skyrim. The game seems almost too massive to complete but maybe playing in snippets is the way to go. I guess the game looked a bit robotic being over 10 years old, but sounds like it’s still worth while experience

Re: Bethesda Sale Kicks Off On Switch eShop, Up To 67% Off Doom, Skyrim, Wolfenstein

Rainz

@BlueGBAMicro, @JustMonika

I’ve had Outer Worlds for a long while now, have yet to make it to the title screen. Damn near forgot I even had it, I believe I was turned off by the initial bugs at launch , I’ve heard the game has been patched and improved. There’s is quite a bit of DLC support for this title, you guys might encourage me to finally unwrap the game and give it a go. I’ve got no idea what the game entails

Re: Bethesda Sale Kicks Off On Switch eShop, Up To 67% Off Doom, Skyrim, Wolfenstein

Rainz

@OorWullie, @stuntzombie, @kurtasbestos

I’m joining this newly formed club!…never played Skyrim either. I’m not really even considering it during this current sale. The game is a decade old, I’m sure it’s still a good game but maybe it’s time has passed me by. Perhaps with a larger discount I could be enticed. I did finally pick up QUAKE tho, I’m still without Doom1,2 and 64 tho so maybe I’ll feed the backlog.

Just 1 left…

Re: Best Twin Stick Shooters On Nintendo Switch

Rainz

How in the world did they leave RUINER off this list? RUINER is probably the biggest omission I could think of, not to mention one of the most underrated twin sticks around. Between story line, graphics and gameplay RUINER is absolutely worthy of this list. Without it , I’ll just go ahead and consider this list as….RUINED.

Re: Hands On: Nintendo Switch Sports Has Great Highs, But Disappointing Lows

Rainz

Ironically I just read a hands on write up randomly on CNN. The reviewer there was absolutely gushing over this game. He was talking about how much he’s already addicted to the game , literally made this game sound like a Must Buy lol. I played the demo as well , mixed bag is exactly what that experience was. Cool to see Nintendo still promoting motion controls and the joy con features but this is giving off Wii Music vibes already. Easy pass for moi

Re: E3 2022 Is Officially Cancelled

Rainz

Damn…so much hate towards E3! Sure there was a lot of corporate talk and filler over the last few years but it was still a celebration of the industry and the tech that accompanies it. Nintendo caught into this years ago hence the creation of Nintendo Directs however E3 was fun just for all the hype and “who win E3” fanboy battles. It was good in terms of offering “hands on” experiences to gamers. I’m not sure things like the Wii or DS/3DS could have been properly conveyed without a hands on showing such as E3. It’s not the end of the world but hopefully in the future there is a dedicated time of year for the gaming industry to create momentum and connect with its gamers.

Re: Nintendo Launches 'Indie Gems Sale', Up To 70% Off Top Titles (Europe)

Rainz

@OorWullie

I can highly recommend Katana Zero! It’s definitely got that Devolver Flavour, it’s got an engaging story and the gameplay mechanics are great. It’s on sale often but it’s absolutely worth the purchase. There is a rather sizeable free update we’ve all been eagerly awaiting so there’s so added value incoming. I put it off for some time , same as you and had Zero regrets once I finally purchased it.

Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Gets A Release Date And New amiibo

Rainz

Looks like this is the Switch’s Monster Hunter version of “IceBorne”. I’m looking forward to it, seems to be a fairly large expansion, I’ve put in over 100 hrs to the base game and I still have a ton of quests to compete still. Capcom has done a really good job with adding value and content…to bad the physical version will just include a download code for Sunbreak tho!

Re: Talking Point: Not A Mario Kart Tour Fan? Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Gives You The Best Of Both Worlds

Rainz

The definition of an ever green title. I have to give Nintendo credit, they really found a way to maximize an 8 yr old IP. Sadly this all but confirms no MK9 until the Switch predecessor is launched but this will easily rejuvenate this blockbuster hit. Even noticed MK8 is sitting #1 in weekly games Switch game sales …which is crazy in 2022, they marketed and placed the DLC with perfect timing for those Mar10 sales. What’s old is new again. Is this, Majoras Mask and F-Zero enough added value to convince those of us on the fence to bite on that online Expansion pak 🤔?!

Re: Reminder: MAR10 Day Sale Now Live On US Switch eShop, Mario Games Discounted

Rainz

A “victims of multiple purchases of MK8 across multiple platforms” support group is desperately needed…you and I will sit on the board for sure lol! Yes Im getting the blasted booster course packs as well…now I’m eyeing the online expansion pak as it seems like an improved value with the booster courses being added for “free”. Im just going to mail Nintendo my wallet with all my financial info at this point!

Fam had an absolute blast playing MK8 online with Uncles, aunts and cousins last night ….5 yrs later they’re asking me …”why didn’t we get this game earlier?!” So to make up for lost time I had to pay the price twice! SMH!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 12th)

Rainz

@Aozz101x

Glad to see quite a few ppl playing Luigis Mansion 3, ive been eager to jump back in that game , it’s criminally under appreciated and not sure many have taken the time to complete it. I just purchased the multiplayer pack so good excuse to jump back in!

Happy Gaming to u!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 12th)

Rainz

Recently got fleeced by Nintendo and caved and finally bought MK8 for Switch 😆. The fleecing occurred because I bought both a digital and physical version of the game. I already owned it on Wii U so they’ve now got me 3 times! Fam had a blast with it last night tho!

I’m continuing my play through of DYING LIGHT and recently started Deaths Door which so far has been a really cool and challenging game!

Went on a hunt with my son for 1st time in MONSTER HUNTER RISE and we had a great time smacking around some Monsters.

Might check out the newly released Disney film Turning Red if time allows. Ordered some smoked bbq for the weekend …it’s outrageously delicious and will indulge in some current strains on deck …L.A Kush Cake, Freshly Baked and some Plum Dosi 😉 Finally will probably grab some more Comics, the new PUNISHER series is off to an interesting start!

HaPpY GaMiNG!!

Re: Reminder: MAR10 Day Sale Now Live On US Switch eShop, Mario Games Discounted

Rainz

@dkxcalibur

Your pain is felt!…finally purchased both a digital and physical copy of Mario Kart 8 this week much to the enjoyment of all Nintendo execs! Similar situation , did not want to have to share that physical copy amongst the multiple Switchs in the house! It explains why MK8 has sold so many copies even though it’s almost a decade old! It’s because of suckers like us! Hope you and the fam enjoy karting…I’m sure we’ll feel better about it once that booster course pack is fully realized. Still they got me..and I feel a bit dirty still lol

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - February 2022

Rainz

Olli Olli World all day! I might be the only person playing the game but do not sleep on this one. The price is a bit steep for an “indie” title but it is absolutely worth it. Tons of value and replay ability with this game , it oozes with style and it’s really unlike anything you’ve played before…at heart the gameplay is still that classic Olli Olli from previous iterations but they’ve done an excellent job redefining this game with an entirely unique aesthetic.

I love Platinum Games but Sol Cresta hasn’t lured me in at all. That Sherlock Holmes game is my the watch list, think it’s on a sale in the Eshop right now.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 5th)

Rainz

@AmplifyMJ

I purchased the DOOM ETERNAL expansion pass this week as well, have yet to start DOOM ETERNAL!…it’s chained up with the rest of my victims in my backlog dungeon! I’ll really have to get on that, let alone back to some DUSK! Ironically my kid has been enjoying the KIRBY AND THE FORGOTTEN LANDS DEMO the same way, glad to see we live in mirror universes ha!

Enjoy your weekend!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 5th)

Rainz

Congratulations! We made it to the weekend!

I’ve been playing, almost exclusively DYING LIGHT and OLLI OLLI WORLD. I really do need to start playing thru more of my backlog, I recently booted up my GameCube, looking forward to replaying some Viewtiful Joe, Killer 7…even found my OG Animal Crossing so pretty cool looking back.

As annoying as it is know the 3DS Eshop is in its final stretch I’ll start loading up on some 3DS games. Nintendo and some devs will see a pretty significant revenue boost from decade old software being purchased like it’s new again. It sucks but it’s kind of a slick strategy by Nintendo tbh.

Lastly, big shouts to Ukraine for holding it down! Putin is now Poutine..emotionally he’s salty and he’s just a cheesy Dictator through and through. The man clearly has a micro pee pee

Wish everyone a happy weekend of life and gaming!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 19th)

Rainz

Been really enjoying my time with DYING LIGHT: PLATINUM EDITION, really good port and just a great game. Also really enjoying OLLI OLLI WORLD…it’s an awesome game, very addictive and oozes style. Other than that, going to enjoy watching my son do his 1st play through of Zelda Skyward Sword!

As always will be enjoying time with the fam and indulging in great food.

Strains on deck: Red Congo, Pink Death Star and some Gelato 33!

Have a great weekend!

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Sticks With Mario Kart 8 Through 2023, But What About Switch?

Rainz

@HalBailman

This exactly! I get it, hear a lie enough and it’ll become the truth. MJ even used it as a lyric in Billie Jean ! Shout out @AmplifyMJ lol. Nintendo came out publicly and said there’s no Switch Pro and ppl still got mad at them when it proved true. They’ve been saying from the beginning they plan on extending the Switch’s generational cycle, 7-10yrs! Ppl need to forget the standard industry practices and timelines when it comes to Nintendo. They do their own thing. I don’t think ppl actually realize Nintendo stopped competing with Sony and MS some time ago.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Sticks With Mario Kart 8 Through 2023, But What About Switch?

Rainz

The pandemic and the chip shortage have proved to be huge boons for Nintendo. They’ve been exploiting misery for straight profit and it’s working lol. 2024 Is the earliest reveal of any new Switch models/successors. 2025 being the earliest release date. Switch will be the #1 selling home console of all time by then setting Nintendo up with an absolutely massive install base.

MK9 will obviously be a launch title for the new system , it’d be an absolute no brainer at this point. With momentum still strong from Switch and massive install base and better tech, Nintendo would have 3rd parties lining up to get in on all that potential. To think COD will actually be on Nintendo consoles again, the potential depth and variety of games on Nintendo consoles moving forward could be unmatched.

Re: Nintendo Direct To Air Today, Wednesday 9th February 2022

Rainz

Some very wild but optimistic predictions. I’m going to assume we get Triangle Strategy, Advanced Wars and Kirby taking up half of the Direct. Some indie announcements, perhaps that rumoured Batman collection are released and potentially the Goldeneye rumour proves true as well. Outer Wilds, Fall Guys likely being the indie highlights. Silk song reveal at the end ?? I doubt they announce a full blown new Mario game here, that’ll likely come closer to Xmas when the movie launches. Splatoon 3 news and hopefully release date as well. Lots of potential for a very good or very underwhelming Direct

Re: Disco Elysium's 'Jamais Vu' Update Is Out Now On Switch

Rainz

I need to start playing this one. It’s just sitting in the backlog queue collecting digital dust. I really appreciate the devs continuing provide updates. I’m going in completely blind to this one but I’ve heard really good things about it. Something tells me I’d want that physical copy as well

Re: Nintendo Announces Huge Switch Sale, More Than 1,000 Games To Be Discounted

Rainz

@MeloMan

There’s always a game to buy! Pretty crazy how I somehow keep finding games to add and keep complaining about backlog. This is the way! I wouldn’t mind a sale on REBEL GALAXY OUTLAW or a proper sale on MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3 would be welcome. I’d be shocked if we saw any big Nintendo discounts other than the typical 33% max. Olli Olli World launch discount would be nice look too!
