Oh hell yes! This is a wonderful game. I fully urge anyone who likes puzzle games to give it a go. Please don't be put off looking at videos thinking it is some sort of hardcore strategy game. It is closer to a puzzler really and the difficulty is pitched brilliantly. If they do a demo, definitely try it out. Can't wait to play this again
Well they're not wrong are they? Unless of course it is a cloud version, which presumably helps prove the CMA's point in that regard? However to be fair to Microsoft they were talking about the next 10 years, so how can the CMA be sure that the Switch 2 couldn't run a pretty darn good version of CoD by then?
@cra1g0s 1. Absolutely double dip. The game plays great on Switch. I had one problem once where the frame rate dropped to an unplayable level but this was easily solved by closing the software and going back in. 2. Dead Cells has zero performance issues on Switch. 3. The Messenger is another superb Metroidvania. Again it controls brilliantly and is just the right blend of challenge, exploration and overall length. The game now also includes some free DLC expansion too. 4. Can't help you here.
This is the best £5.50 you will ever spend, trust me. For the price of a pint you are getting 30 hours of incredible game play and atmosphere. A wonderful game.
I just gave the top 40 a proper look and it really is refreshingly diverse. A while ago a few of us feared for the future of games as everything seemed to be homogenizing, but this list has strategy, sports, FPS, platformers, the lot. Barely any 'casual' titles either.
@Olliemar28 I think it's interesting as the Top Ten can get a bit samey. Do they issue the actual sales figures (the numbers) with these charts like they do for the Japanese ones? I'm guessing not.
There is a mistake at the end of the article - The Green Hill Zone Loop Challenge set is actually an eye-watering £94.99! I am a fully paid up Lego apologist but even I think their prices are getting out of control.
Seeing this artwork has reminded me of a question I had - Does anyone know if there will be an official guidebook like the excellent one we got for BotW?
I've never found the ads on NintendoLife particularly intrusive, unlike some other sites. For example as I am currently viewing this page there isn't a single one. I don't mind helping out as I use the site a lot but I would like some extra perks.
I know you said you didn't want to paywall stuff but what about a subscriber only podcast?
Edit: I have just remembered I use an ad-blocker. Even so a quick check with it turned off and things still aren't too bad. Hopefully they don't pull a Eurogamer and block you from viewing the site until you turn off the adblock.
"Full feature and content parity" is going to be very tough to follow through on surely? Unless Nintendo has briefed Microsoft on the power of Switch 2.......
I've put a safety order in just in case I miss out elsewhere. Plus it is covered by the pre-order guarantee so as long as this is just a placeholder price it will hopefully drop to RRP before they take payment.
This throws up something I hadn't considered before - I have the Collectors Edition on pre-order, but does this mean I shouldn't look at the artbook before completing the game? Surely Nintendo must have considered that people are going to flick through it as soon as they open the box and so wouldn't have included anything too spoilery?
These Best Kids and Best Family Game awards need to stop as they are always utter nonsense. Tunic was nominated and that's hard as nails - show me the kid that complete that!
@GrailUK I think that's absolutely right but Microsoft's problem is that they are always going to want to reserve the right for some point in the future to go exclusive if circumstances change. They will want the acquisition to go through but they can't afford to be hamstrung by making any legal promises that won't go exclusive. Also what about any spinoffs they choose to make? Would they have to be multiplat too? It could get very messy.
This is quite a cool special edition but I always wonder, who is putting down this sort of money for a new IP that they have no idea whether they will even like it or not? I will buy any Zelda Special Edition that Nintendo want to put out but that is based on decades of track record, buying something like this is taking a huge punt with your money.
Surprising to see the Wii is so low given how successful it was worldwide. I guess the Japanese didn't quite embrace it in the same way? Or is it as simple as something like Wii Sports not being a pack-in in Japan (although I may be wrong about that)?
@luxoricious The Four games refers to Sonic 1, 2, CD and then what they are calling "Sonic 3 and Knuckles". This was the name of the game given to when you put the Sonic 3 cartridge into Sonic and Knuckles. It is essentially all of Sonic 3 and all of Sonic & Knuckles plus a couple of extra bits (additional level and Hyper Sonic mode). So yes it is essentially five games instead of four but this suggests you cannot play through Sonic 3 or Sonic & Knuckles individually which is a bit of a strange decision. Both were fully formed games in their own right so I would have expected the option to play through them separately and only combine them if you wanted to.
If NintendoLife are reading this - Putting aside the Cloud version limitations and assuming everything magically got fixed and ran perfectly; what score would you have given each of the three compilations based solely on the games?
A bit misleading this. The game will not work without Joycon would be more accurate. If you have a Switch Lite you can still sync up some joycon to it and then play Switch Sports.
@SuperZeldaFun My initial reaction is to argue against you and any sort of censorship but you are of course 100% correct in what you say. I like sexy anime girls as much as the next pervert but you are clearly right, we need to do better than this. You can't just draw a school girl and then say in the character bio she is actually 18 so everything is fine. I'm no prude but this sort of thing really shouldn't exist in this day and age.
@Giancarlothomaz Not a straight port, it would need to be pretty much redone from the ground up, which may have been worth it when the game was new but is unlikely to recoup the costs if Square did it now.

None of these responses sound like they were actually written by real people do they?

Re: Japanese Charts: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Takes The Crown With Modest Sales
"Dominates the top ten" equates to having spots 2,5 and 9? By that logic my beloved Man Utd have dominated the Premier League for the last five years.

Maybe I'm getting more generous as I get older but all of these look pretty damn good (yet another farming sim aside). Very impressive showing.

I took a punt on this after getting strong Hollow Knight vibes. If it turns out to be even half as good as that then I'll be happy.

Lack of Elden Ring is surprising, especially as just 5,000 units was enough for Ring Fit to make the Top Ten.
