@BenAV That's what I was doing but then they ran out of stock so I doubt a sale will be coming anytime soon. I tried it out at a trade show and the technology works perfectly. After a 30 min trial I woke up the next day with a sore side from the exercise so it was definitely working.
@Kalmaro Bought this in the recent sale and am absolutely loving it. It is far superior to the first game in every way. Controls are far better (not quite as tight as Mario though), the visuals are great and there's loads of variety. The mechanic where every level is altered for the second playthrough is genius and the hub world is fun too. This is a far more polished effort overall and pretty challenging as well.
A demo is a great idea cos I reckon anyone who plays it will instantly download the full game.
@Kalmaro I believe it's an issue with the rights to the soundtrack getting in the way of re-releases. Michael Jackson's estate is meant to own them I understand.
I may have got this completely wrong however.
On a separate note how depressing is it to see the phrase "For those too young to remember" not applying to oneself?
Just counted and I reckon I've got 65 of them, but I can't be sure. Is it just me who tells his wife that they only cost a fiver each?
@Agramonte You gave it away? Fair play to you, that little fella is adorable and I could not part with him. I'm sure Dark Samus will be great, each new wave of Amiibo just gets better and more detailed. The squishy Metroid may be my favourite one so far.
26 of the top 30? That's insane! The numbers are huge too. Ring Fit was tenth with 30,000 sales, that would be enough for top three most weeks. Incredible.
It was a superb event this year, really enjoyed it. I urge everyone to check out the Link to the Past randomiser run on crowd control, it was hilarious. And don't worry if you didn't understand a word of that - like all runs it's really accessible and well explained throughout so give it a go and watch some of the vods.
Edit: For some reason there are hardly any runs uploaded to Youtube yet but if you head on here you can watch all the runs on Twitch: https://gdqvods.com/event/agdq-2020
It's the Nintendo equivalent of Sports Direct or the DFS sale. Apparently there is one mythical Switch somewhere in the midlands where you can purchase these games for full price.
No matter what people's complaints are about Sword and Shield can we all agree at least that the trainer design has been amazing? Klara is my new favourite for sure.
There is no obligation for Nintendo to put up any prize money at all. Epic don't do it out of the goodness of their hearts, they need esports as a way of promoting Fortnite to keep people playing. It's just another form of advertising. Nintendo don't earn any extra money by people continuing to play Smash so it would be money down a drain, it's not a game as a service and it doesn't have microtransactions like other esports games.
I'm actually hoping there are no decent preorder bonuses or collector's ed. Reason being that whilst I am normally a physical only guy if there was one game that I would get digitally it's Animal Crossing. So I'm planning on using those great value Nintendo Online vouchers unless an awesome special edition swings me back the other way.
I don't love Fortnite but I certainly don't hate it. As I understand it it is genuinely free to play, without play-to-win mechanics and without progress locked behind pay gates. There are far grubbier games out there.
Also, am I the only one who literally has no idea what the majority of those games in the top ten list actually are?
To be fair there a few games that are permanently 80% off but in general the sales here in the UK have generally been great. In fact they are probably too good as I almost never buy an eShop game at full price anymore as they get discounted so quickly.
@Cissero Thanks for the tip, I was considering giving that one a go.
Yooka Laylee is on offer for the first time too so time to take the plunge on that one. There's also a massive discount for the Telltale batman series so might be tempted to check that out having never played a Telltale game before.
@hogo_ @darkswabber You're all wrong I'm afraid as you did not answer in the form of a question. Jeopardy is a weird show. I'm surprised it's still going to be honest.
It was only a matter of time until an all Switch top ten. What's especially impressive is that eight of the titles are Switch exclusive too. Special mention to Ring Fit Adventure which is putting up crazy good numbers.
This was an exceptional presentation, so much great stuff! Really psyched for Sports Story and I thought SuperMash looked amazing. My only disappointment was how far all the release dates seemed - until I realised 2020 is now just three weeks away!
@HimeGyaru You're right of course, I'm just being selfish. Would be interesting to see them given a Nintendo licence though. 2D Metroid perhaps?
@PickledKong64 All these expansions were stretch goals from the original Kickstarter that funded Shovel Knight all those years ago. If I have it right this is the final commitment they had left to their backers (not that Kickstarter is legally binding of course). Will be interesting to see what they come up with next, after Shovel Knight Dig of course (I forget the exact title).
Was searching for a review on this just yesterday as the trailer popped up on my Switch feed and I thought it looked great - although I couldn't figure out what on earth was going on. Seems a fair price too so length not much of an issue for me.
@Kalmaro To be fair it gets a little more realistic near the end:
"Commercially, it’s a disaster. I can’t discuss exact numbers, but in the first few weeks fewer people bought the game than I have Twitter followers, and I don’t have a lot of Twitter followers (and this tells you a lot about how effective marketing via Twitter is). So far, I have made $0 from the game. "
We know Metroid Prime 4 is coming, Metroid Trilogy makes total sense and a new/remake 2D Metroid would not surprise anybody. Not so much a "leak" as a pretty obvious thing to guess.
Don't know where to begin! Doom is half price, so is Castlevania collection and all of the Sega Ages range. Ni No Kuni has only just come out and is already a third off. My backlog was bad before but now it's simply ridiculous!
@BarefootBowser I did a test online and I think my Internet speeds were something like 40mbps download, 10mbps upload (if that makes sense, I am not tech savvy). So maybe that's better than a lot of people.
Still I'm old enough to remember when multiplayer meant having to manually plug both controllers into the console (or in some cases the cartridges themselves), so any kind of online play at all is still a novelty to me.
@BarefootBowser Works perfectly for me. Only issue I had was Smash Online but that was caused by other people's dodgy internet. Mario Kart, Mario Maker, Tetris 99 all work perfectly.
The annual service costs like £1.50 a month or something (I essentially got a year's worth for £10 with Mario Maker 2 bundle), so what the hell are people complaining about? Tetris 99 is quite literally worth the price of admission by itself, not to mention all the NES and SNES games that could easily have been sold for a fiver each. Imagine if all the games you get for free with Online were released on a cartridge for £30, people would say what an incredible bargain that is and yet when they charge a measly 15 quid a year for them people complain! Not to mention the online works perfectly for me - no slowdown or dropouts at all. Servers need maintaining and it's hard to imagine how they could possibly do it for cheaper.

Actually they only have eight. Peachette is a version of Toadette and therefore is not Princess Peach.
How many internet points do I win please?

Cuphead's a bargain at full price so this should be a complete no brainer for anyone that hasn't jumped on board yet.

The price isn't "cool"? A switch lite is £175 right now, what's this UFO thing going to cost? £600? £800?
And since when is 10,000+ pieces of shovelware to wade through ever a good thing?
