@Sambuc They actually did! In 2023, the Switch had PUZZLE BOBBLE EVERYBUBBLE! It is a Switch exclusive I think. Unless you mean do another one since then?

Oooh. I love Bubble Bobble. It will always be special to me as it was my brother and I's favourite Nes game to play co-op. Later, I would play the Bust a move games with my Mum on the N64, so this franchise will always be dear to me. Does not look radically different to a normal bubble bobble game really, but I am still interested. 🥰

Also, surely it is time for a new Yoshi game?
Or that supposed Wooly World port?

Yoshi Story is Number 1 for me, always.
I love it still to this day. Island takes 2nd though.

Yoshi's Story will always be special to me. It was the first N64 game I chose with the console. Not Mario 64. Not 007. Not Mario Kart. I wanted Yoshi!!!
I saved up for so long for that console, helping my Mum with whatever tasks I could. She was an Estate agent at the time and let me deliver leaflets for them as well as putting letters into envelopes. I was 10, so it very much taught me the value of hard work etc. With that money, I was able to buy the N64 and Yoshi.
Also, my Mum took me to the Circus that day too. So, it will always stick with me and I will love this game.

Is it the least Nintendo looking Nintendo game to date? Anyone have any other contenders? If I saw it without prior knowledge, I would not guess it was by them.

Also, Americans, you are so lucky in this respect! Libraries in the UK do not, at least none I have ever seen, rent out games.

Still, must not grumble, as I like to say, if I actually bought every book I read, I would have no money at all. Libraries are such a fantastic part of society. I am grateful they exist.

It is not the worst! Cronky. Clippy. Weird. Unfinished, but I enjoyed it all the same. I could describe it as closer to a Ratchet and Clank and Crash Bandicoot game than a Sonic game.

The Letters page is always a good read. Editor response envokes a memory of the sort of answers you got from 90s Nintendo magazines. Not sure if intentional, but I like it that way.

I find it unlikely that we would be looking at 2029-2030 for a brand new Mario 3d game. 12 to 13 years since Oddesy? I know Nintendo love to take their time to make it right, but that seems too long for them to leave Mario.

Thankfully, they are not popping up quite as frequent in my YT recommendations since the launch...but they are still around in toxic droves spinning whatever they can this way and that.

I hope there's an Eshop demo, but I have a feeling it's just TOO big for that. The really big titles like Mario and Zelda usually don't get one, except for those in-store or event-specific demos.

@acgp From my understanding, it is because the game has basis in the Jules Verne classic novel 'Journey To The Centre Of The Earth'. No idea how much truth there is to it, but people have been pointing out a lot of references to it. I can see it myself now and it is quite wild if so. Maybe a lead creator was a fan? We had Pokemon and Pikmin stemming from childhood interests and hobbies, so maybe it was someones favourite book growing up!

@Rebusmind I honestly think this is the system seller over Mario Kart too. I get why they did Mario Kart, with it being the number 1 best seller Switch game by a country mile, but this exudes true original Nintendo zany magic and fun.

@OctolingKing13 Agreed. Honestly, the biggest issue with this game that I see people complaining about, and for good reason, is where and how it fits with everything that came before! Haha. It is a minor thing in the grand scheme of 'is this a good game' and no real bearing....but gamers do like our nonsensical video games to follow some history

@Duncanballs @Ryu_Niiyama - This is very interesting. Do we know if this is just a Hogwarts Legacy thing? Or will it work with Nintendo's own games? I am getting the Kirby Forgotten Land upgrade and also own the cart for the original game. Be great if I could sell that after upgrading.

Awesome! Back in the day, I would often go in to places like Virgin Megastore, EB, GAME etc to play these and see what they had there. Very exciting. Can't imagine the current incarnaton of GAME ever doing that. Far too gaming related.

@Varkster Love to see it. Indeed, the continued negative 'boo Nintendo' and 'Switch 2 bad' videos are never ending on my recommendations for YouTube. I keep clicking 'DON'T RECOMMEND THIS CHANNEL' but there are so many like it. Some people have nothing to say if they are not hating!

@JohnnyMind Also, you think that would be a noticeable difference, but I too was upgrading from a very loved first model Switch with hundreds of hours, always played in handheld.

But...my 8 year Switch is about equivilant in battery life to out of the box Switch 2.

I really hope there is some kind of firmware Nintendo can make that helps slightly, but I don't know how that works really or if it even could. That, or we can get a better battery fitted down the line by Nintendo or through places like CeX, who can do battery replacements etc.

Yes, can confirm doing all these will slow down the drainage.
Out of the box settings with a Switch 2 are a killer.You will get about 2 hours at best, from day 1. Check these and you can make a big difference!
