More of Kirby and The Forgotten Land DLC! Also, more Chibi Robo! But the poll did not seem to work for me this week doing more than 1 option. Loving both these games. Sort of thought we would have Mario Sunshine for this weekend, but no matter. Plenty to do here still in these games! Have a good weekend everyone!
Wait, so CAN we play it 2d without the accessory? It will still be an option for us with NSO expansion pack? Or, no?
Otherwise...feels like this could have been some kind of Nintendo Mini console thing.
It's funny to think about how we were speculating on ways Nintendo could possibly get the DS to run in NSO, while over at Nintendo, they clearly had entirely different ideas in mind.
@Lizuka It kind of is. Why is it allowed in gaming, but not film or books? At least, I presume it is not. Imagine having ownership of like...cozy murder mysteries.
@TitanSix Streamers. I can imagine streamers picking it up to play and getting frustrated for their audience's entertainment. Other than that... I’m not sure who was really asking for it.
This scored higher than the review made it sound. Haha I think I liked Bubsy 2 because of the co-op mode. That was my criteria for a lot of games back then. Not a great game though, but an ok one. The first one was just so frustrating.
Stupid question...but as this is the boxed charts...can you still buy PC games boxed? I am not a PC Gamer, so not really clued up. I thought it had basically been replaced by Steam? Just so many new computers don't even have CD Rom drives now.
Was the woman a character in the game? I remember it being odd seeing that ad/box art, as I don't recall what her relation to it was.I prefer the NA version, but neither one gives much of a clue about what the game is about.
Off to see the Conjuring: Last Rites at the cinema shortly, but will play some more Kirby and The Forgotten Land DLC & Chibi-Robo too! Happy weekend everyone.
Has Nate ever hinted at who his source at Nintendo is/how he gets the info? I presume that he has connections in some secret way? Hopefully turns out right. I think we need a good mixed one with all kinds of games from Nintendo themselves! I think these ones are the most exciting.
Is it the most non-Nintendo Nintendo game? Does anyone have another example? Or, by being so different, does that make it MORE Nintendo by subverting the expectations?
Still, some colour or faces would not go amiss, surely?
More Kirby & The Forgotten Land: Star Cross World! I 100 percented it a while ago, so seeing more of Kirby in this realm, with everything looking and playing even smoother, is fantastic.
Also, a little bit more on CHIBI ROBO, I expect. A real late Gamecube gem. Glad they put that on so early.
Ah, foo. Chances of a return in Switch 2 form? Would be nice... Gold coins would be even better, but I don't see it. We would make too much out of it at those prices 😆.
Looking forward to it!
Does anyone know how SHOPTO works with regards to getting your code? I bought KIRBY DLC from there for a Nifty 13.85.
I can see a code for it in my account on there, but I don't know where I put it in on the E-shop.
It just gives me the option to pre-order from Nintendo themselves and the ways to pay.
*Update - Found out how to do it now. It is downloading for tomorrow. 😊
@DwaynesGames Thanks! :0) Have to say I have not actually been doing that, but will do now! I did manage to clear that bit today and have made much more progress now. My only real complaint about the game is the speed characters talk at. The text appears so slowly. Some of the cut scenes take ages when they have a lot to say. Still, super game though.
CHIBI-ROBO! For Gamecube via NSO. Loving this so far. Never had it back in the day. Wasn't too sure for the first hour as found it a bit slow with too much talking going on, but once the tutorial stuff is largely done and you get used to the controls, it really picks up. Annoying at first how quickly his battery runs out, but gets better once you start upgrading and getting more items.
Little bit stuck now how to progress further past the foyer with the Egg army men. I know I need a mug from the Spaceman, but not sure how to get him to give me one! Anyway, it is a fun soothing game. A little bit Pikmin and Animal crossing in a tiny way too.
@GrailUK That one did confuse me too. I suppose it's like the whole package. The Oscars have a Best Film, but then there are other categories like sound, actor, actress, script, and costume.
When it comes to gaming, though, I don’t see it being quite the same either. You’d think a GAME winning Best GAMEplay would make it a clear choice for Best GAME, but apparently, that doesn’t matter so much!?
Nintendo routinely renew the rights to Eternal Darkness. Possibly even the Sanity system too? I think that was copyrighted at some point. They care about keeping it, but not doing anything with it. Lol.
I could not see them wanting it for other platforms. Not sure if Nightdive think they will be able to have it another way?
Can't see a remaster myself, as cool as that would be, but I think we will see this again for NSO.
@Ellie-Moo You are in for a real treat...and an enhanced one at that! I love it. One of my favorite Switch games and my second favorite Kirby game (I think Funpack/Superstar just slightly edges it out for me due to nostalgia).
Oh, yes. Going for 100 percent is a real challenge. The biggest challenge, in my view, are the boss fights that require zero damage being taken. Those are going to take quite a few attempts to get right!
There are also some deceptively fiendish mini games you can play in Waddle Dee Town that you need to beat at hard mode to get the 100 percent. One that requires tilting the Switch to move Kirby like a ball around mazes across narrow platforms and another that requires serving food to a crowd of Waddle Dees.
An easier, though time-consuming, part of reaching 100 percent is figure collecting. There’s a Gacha bubble gum like machine in town that dispenses random Kirby figure toys, which may or may not be ones you need! You have to grind coins in the levels or by fishing/finding them in town/across the world map in order to use the Gacha machine.
Others can be earned by trading with the trader who visits town or by completing various objectives in levels and mini-games. It’s all great fun, though!
Nice.
Also, that is kind of testament to the quality of the game straight out of the gate that it hasn't needed fixes all this time. Most games get a day 1 patch!
Been playing it again the past few days in anticipation of the DLC. While I have 100 percented it, the only thing outstanding was a few of the best time goals on the Treasure Roads. Should probably save till I can play them in even more glory, but eh. Having fun with it! Thankfully, the goals were not mandatory for the 100 percent clear. All you get is 50 coins for doing them, but can be a fun challenge.
I love the 3 person YT team. I don't mind them adapting others work. They always state that, then add a personal thought at the end. Works out well in my, in my view. Always a joy to listen to.
@Anachronism This is what some people really don't seem to grasp. Not everyone has the space or money to invest in buying multiple consoles for the sake of a few games. As for myself, I could buy more than Nintendo, but it just doesn't interest me.
@Ooccoo_Jr Thank you! I never knew that you could get discounted codes from other places than Nintendo E-shop. Just bought the Kirby Forgotten Land DLC for Switch 2 from Shop-To now!
Hopefully I am wrong and the sales figures say otherwise, but I feel this is like when the public convinced Sony to release Morbious again because they loved it. Rather, they loved to meme and rag on it. Sony responded in kind and it flopped just as hard 2nd time around at the cinema.
Oof. 65 percent at not interested at the moment. Sorry to have to say that I was one of them! I hope those who want it enjoy it! At least the price is reasonable.

Re: ICYMI: If You Want To Play Virtual Boy Classics, You'll Need To Buy One Of Nintendo's Accessories
Are we to assume this won't cause the splitting headaches? I thought that was one of the major downfalls on this console?
Still, not for me I think. Bit of an ask at that price.

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced For Super Mario's 40th Anniversary
Goooo Yoshi!!
I am all for it. Yoshi's Story has such a special place in my heart.
I was surprised that Mario Sunshine]s NSO release was not part of the celebration. I can only think they thought it would detract from Galaxy sales.
Re: A Brand New Yoshi Adventure Is Heading To The Switch 2

Re: PSA: Switch Online Offering "Two Bonus Months" With 12-Month Memberships (Europe)
@1UP_MARIO Great! Thanks! I'll make sure to send the PayPal renewal payment shortly before that date.
Re: PSA: Switch Online Offering "Two Bonus Months" With 12-Month Memberships (Europe)
@1UP_MARIO might it be worth us doing this? Think the renewal is due in around a month or two anyway.
Re: Rumour: Another Claim Points To A Nintendo Direct Later This Month
@Bustacap Ah, right. Makes more sense. I can't see someone at Nintendo being so forthcoming with info to Nate and Nate alone!

It is still £13.85 for the DLC on SHOPTO. That is where I got mine!

@Slideaway1983 🤗Thank you & Yay!

That name is less Kirbyific.
😥

Iggy's Reckin' Balls too, which I think was theirs?

Re: Nintendo Releases 'It's Me, Mario!' Stop Motion Shorts, Watch Them Right Here
Very sweet. Stop motion is such an art form, a underused one at that, but one can understand why. Even a minute short probably took ages and ages!
