@metaphysician Ah, I see. Thank you. Thought they were all fairly seperate. Fair enough. Hmm. Like you say though, does sound a bit redundant if the games are already like war movies! Maybe it will do well with the name alone, but can't see it doing Mario or Sonic numbers.

As some others have said.....is there enough lore in this? Aren't they mostly just based on actual wars anyway? I have never played them so not really sure, but do they have reoccuring characters or something? Do they really have enough to incorporate from the games to make a movie that isn't just..any war movie?

Did they just see Mario and Sonic box office numbers and then look at a list of other best selling game series names?

It was my birthday a few days ago and I got Super Mario Bros Wonder from my Mama ❤. It is really great! Will also play a little Kirby Super Clash & Pokemon: Gale of Darkness too. I am a WWE fan, so this weekend will also involve watching a lot of wrestling with Wrestlemania!

Gone are the days that Sonic 3 & Knuckles was the epitome of “haha, funny silly extended name game”.

Not to be snarky, but I don’t play or own Xbox consoles, and my awareness of their exclusives is almost nonexistent. Similarly, I don’t play or follow PlayStation consoles either, yet I’m very aware of their big titles, as they seem to permeate the wider world and even reach into my Nintendo bubble.

But Xbox? Honestly, I can’t name a single title besides Halo. I know they have Rare, but I don't know what they do with any of the characters!

Just sell Rare back to Nintendo!

@martynstuff Did you know the leaf is the symbol for all inventory items in the series because of Japanese folklore?
Apparently, Tanookis were said to sell objects that appeared as leaves but would magically transform into something else. However, it could work the other way around, which was more common as they were meant to be naughty, like selling you a necklace that turns into a leaf after you buy it. 😂

Japan for me this week. Does a better job showing the game’s art style and gameplay. I was having a great time playing, but it got too tough at one of the boss levels where the enemies kept drawing new versions of themselves nonstop! Agggh. I’ll give it another shot at some point...hope I can beat it...would love to keep playing it!

More Pokemon: Gale of Darkness (NSO). About 15hrs in.Really enjoy it! As I mentioned before, it’s easier for me to handle. No trading, DLC, limited events, and a manageable Pokedex. It’s a nice microcosm of Pokémon. Big game in length, but managable.

Kirby Super Clash will also be getting a look in as normal!
747/900 hero quests completed now.

Just started the Palace game by Gamefreak. Never heard of it. Knew nothing about it. Didn't watch a trailer or read this article before. I love it! Love the GB Pokemon look and it plays great. This is right up my street. Short fun rounds with obvious goals, fun music, and controls well. I will enjoy this one!

Funnily enough, I was thinking about Pacman just yesterday and how I wouldn't mind playing that again. Bing, it is here

Probably not, but they have made other minor adjustments in games to align, like changing the box art for Princess Peach Showtime before release so Peach more closely resembles her movie appearance.

Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness! (NSO).

About 11 hrs in now. Loving it. Giving me feelings like I had as a kid with Pokemon Blue. Enjoying the Cipher plot and when creeping around their bases. Great game and great story. Loving having Gamecube on NSO!

Oh, and, of course, Kirby Super Clash will get a look in too. 🤗

The turnip being thrown in Wart's mouth was a nice Mario 2 reference. As others said, that whole Casino was a Mario 2 dream. As that was my first video game, I loved all those.

I have to say, Donald Glover as Yoshi? Who had that idea? It was impressive.

Also, Brie Larson was very good too. I liked her performance.

And Glen Powell as Fox, too. Normally, I roll my eyes at celebrity voice castings just for the sake of it, but if they had to be done by people who don’t do a huge amount of voice acting, these were excellent choices.

I adore Kirby Super Clash, but that is the extent of my FTS gaming experiences. Pokemon: Gale of Darkness is doing just fine for the Pokemon itch I had!

Pokemon: Gale of Darkness (NSO). Enjoying this one. As I said, while it seems a lengthy adventure, it is a more manageable game than the current affairs for me. No trading/DLC/Events etc. All contained!

Also, of course, a little bit of Super Kirby Clash! Up to 730/900 hero quests now. Yes, I have put in over 100 hours into this game somehow. 0_0

Yep. I have to say, I’ve never once heard “Bros” pronounced like “Ross” or “Floss” in my entire life. In every instance, whether in media or real life, I’ve always heard it the way Alex says here. I am in England, if that makes any difference.

I went with NA. That would be the cover I would have picked up in a shop to take look at the back of. I don't remember doing that with that the European version, so it must have never grabbed me at the time.

Pokemon: Gale of Darkness on NSO! Never had it on GC, but I am enjoying it. Found it a bit slow to start, but soon got into it. I really appreciate it for being tight and not confusing for where to go. It is like a microchosom of a bigger Pokemon game, which I worry about being overwhelmed by these days. Self contained with no trading, not too many Pokemon, no DLC etc. It won't overwhelm me. Music is fantastic too! NSO Expansion really does pay for itself, especially if you pal up with other people for the family pass.

Aside from that, I'll do my normal dipping into Kirby Super Clash (725 out of 900 quests complete now) and playing a bit more of KIRBY STAR STACKER on SNES NSO. I adore this puzzle game—matches usually last 2 minutes or less, and I always tell myself, “just one level”... but it’s never just one level.

@aozz101x Sounds a good selection. Have you been playing ANIMAL CROSSING (GC) since like 20 years ago? Or is that a newer venture for you. I loved that. I want to get New Horizons, but hear it is less life sim and more doll house, so still hesistant.

A little more of my beloved Super Kirby Clash, up to 700 of the 900 quests completed now! And a little bit of Kirby Star Stacker (Snes version - NSO). I completed the GB version 100 percent a while back, but even if this is just more of the same in colour, I enjoy the gameplay very much.

This was one of the reasons Ryan Drummond didn't return to Sonic. While he was replaced due to the 4Kids stuff and them wanting brand alingement, he was later asked about coming back to the games a few years later, or at the very least to audition again, but only if he left his union to do so. He declined.
