Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th August)

More Kirby & The Forgotten Land: Star Cross World! I 100 percented it a while ago, so seeing more of Kirby in this realm, with everything looking and playing even smoother, is fantastic.

Also, a little bit more on CHIBI ROBO, I expect. A real late Gamecube gem. Glad they put that on so early.

Wishing everyone a happy weekend!

Looking forward to it!
Does anyone know how SHOPTO works with regards to getting your code? I bought KIRBY DLC from there for a Nifty 13.85.
I can see a code for it in my account on there, but I don't know where I put it in on the E-shop.

It just gives me the option to pre-order from Nintendo themselves and the ways to pay.

*Update - Found out how to do it now. It is downloading for tomorrow. 😊

@DwaynesGames Thanks! :0) Have to say I have not actually been doing that, but will do now! I did manage to clear that bit today and have made much more progress now. My only real complaint about the game is the speed characters talk at. The text appears so slowly. Some of the cut scenes take ages when they have a lot to say. Still, super game though.

CHIBI-ROBO! For Gamecube via NSO. Loving this so far. Never had it back in the day. Wasn't too sure for the first hour as found it a bit slow with too much talking going on, but once the tutorial stuff is largely done and you get used to the controls, it really picks up. Annoying at first how quickly his battery runs out, but gets better once you start upgrading and getting more items.

Little bit stuck now how to progress further past the foyer with the Egg army men. I know I need a mug from the Spaceman, but not sure how to get him to give me one! Anyway, it is a fun soothing game. A little bit Pikmin and Animal crossing in a tiny way too.

Have a good weekend everyone and happy gaming!

Re: Mario Kart World Wins "Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game" Of Gamescom 2025

Mana_Knight

@GrailUK That one did confuse me too. I suppose it's like the whole package. The Oscars have a Best Film, but then there are other categories like sound, actor, actress, script, and costume.

When it comes to gaming, though, I don’t see it being quite the same either. You’d think a GAME winning Best GAMEplay would make it a clear choice for Best GAME, but apparently, that doesn’t matter so much!?

Re: Nightdive's CEO Reiterates Desire To Remaster 'Eternal Darkness'

Mana_Knight

Nintendo routinely renew the rights to Eternal Darkness. Possibly even the Sanity system too? I think that was copyrighted at some point. They care about keeping it, but not doing anything with it. Lol.

I could not see them wanting it for other platforms. Not sure if Nightdive think they will be able to have it another way?

Can't see a remaster myself, as cool as that would be, but I think we will see this again for NSO.

@Ellie-Moo You are in for a real treat...and an enhanced one at that! I love it. One of my favorite Switch games and my second favorite Kirby game (I think Funpack/Superstar just slightly edges it out for me due to nostalgia).

Oh, yes. Going for 100 percent is a real challenge. The biggest challenge, in my view, are the boss fights that require zero damage being taken. Those are going to take quite a few attempts to get right!

There are also some deceptively fiendish mini games you can play in Waddle Dee Town that you need to beat at hard mode to get the 100 percent. One that requires tilting the Switch to move Kirby like a ball around mazes across narrow platforms and another that requires serving food to a crowd of Waddle Dees.

An easier, though time-consuming, part of reaching 100 percent is figure collecting. There’s a Gacha bubble gum like machine in town that dispenses random Kirby figure toys, which may or may not be ones you need! You have to grind coins in the levels or by fishing/finding them in town/across the world map in order to use the Gacha machine.

Others can be earned by trading with the trader who visits town or by completing various objectives in levels and mini-games. It’s all great fun, though!

Mana_Knight

Nice.
Also, that is kind of testament to the quality of the game straight out of the gate that it hasn't needed fixes all this time. Most games get a day 1 patch!

Been playing it again the past few days in anticipation of the DLC. While I have 100 percented it, the only thing outstanding was a few of the best time goals on the Treasure Roads. Should probably save till I can play them in even more glory, but eh. Having fun with it! Thankfully, the goals were not mandatory for the 100 percent clear. All you get is 50 coins for doing them, but can be a fun challenge.

Re: Feature: 32 Games We're Dying To See On Switch 2

Mana_Knight

@Anachronism This is what some people really don't seem to grasp. Not everyone has the space or money to invest in buying multiple consoles for the sake of a few games. As for myself, I could buy more than Nintendo, but it just doesn't interest me.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (9th August)

Hi All,

I am playing The Mysterious Murasame Castle on NES NSO. Tried it for the first time yesterday and really like it! It is like a cross between Pocky and Rocky, Goemon on the GB, and Ninja Gaiden. I think there are lots of games that get a bit overlooked on NES if you weren't of that generation. Some don't like the clunk and it might be too much of a step back to play, but I think I am bit more forgiving because the Nes was my first console. This said, this one is really fluid and fun for the era. Crazy that it was made 40 years ago nearly!

Have a good weekend!

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Kirby And The Forgotten Land Upgrade For Switch 2?

Mana_Knight

Despite having a Switch 2, I have yet to buy a proper Switch 2 game. Not sure if this quite counts as one, but intend to go the upgrade path and looking forward to it! Aside from the Paper Mario/RPG series, Yoshi and Kirby are my favourites from Nintendo.

Though, I should ask....any idea about how big the extra content is in terms of length? Like @Erigen, I have completed it 100 percent so just having better graphics and frame rate is not the selling point to me. If it is only 2 hours then it may not be quite as good value for someone like me.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (2nd August)

Mana_Knight

I will be carrying on playing a bit of NINJA GAIDEN on NES NSO. Started it yesterday having never played it and found it really good. So fluid for a Nes title, especially the speed/jumping. It is very fun. They really knew how to get the best out of the Nes.

Also, going to see THE NAKED GUN at the cinema shortly. Love the films and tv series so I am excited for that.

Happy gaming all!

Re: Square Enix Wants Feedback About Its New HD-2D Game Coming To Switch 2

Mana_Knight

I like how it is similiar to Final Fantasy Adventure/Seiken Densetsu for Gameboy, but I have to agree with those saying it does not have an original bone in its body. From the voices, the looks, the mechanics, the story...it all looks so done before. I feel I have played it through and beaten it already. Also, the name is just so generic.

Re: Review: Pokémon Friends (Switch) – Pretty Plushies, Puzzling Pricing

Mana_Knight

I don't see why they can't give us a free Switch version. I would have given it a go for that. Ah, well. Not a massive loss by the sound of it. Not a fan of the need to buy more and more to experience the full game. A DLC after the fact is one thing, to give new life or expand upon what came before, such as the upcoming Kirby Forgotten Land one, but don't launch it at launch with DLC to restrict the true experience behind pay walls. This could be free for those with NSO expansion pack.
