Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th December)

Merry Christmas Weekend All! I will be finishing Wario World this weekend I think! I just have the final boss to go, I think. Got all the treasure and red jems and gnome things too. Fantastic game. I think the length is right for what it is really. Also, I can't imagine being able to 100 percent back in the day! Not with some of the red jem trapdoor jumping segments, not without save states.

I will also be trying and trying to determine what game I want to buy myself for Christmas. Just going in circles. Reading the top 100 e-shop sale guide and looking at reviews etc. Have a good one!

Wario World! On Level 2-2 now. I love it! NSO Gamecube is an amazing part of having a Switch 2. I think I was put off getting this one back in the day as reviews said it was very short. As a kid, forty pounds was probably a big ask for it compared to the length of some other Nintendo games, but when it’s just pennies a day for the service overall, it’s a different story (get yourself on a family plan!). The voice acting, music, graphics, and it feels so fluid! I don't know what the FPS is, but it feels so fast. Again, still really amuses me that Nintendo skipped all the pre-planned games and opted to drop this one. It feels so Wario doing so. Of course he wouldn't wait! Just barge in.

@Ooyah Oh, dear. Dare I venture a look myself? Like you, I think I would get a lot more out of it than some, but I agree it does seem overpriced. lt is in my Nintendo E-shop watch list though, so will keep any eye on if it goes on sale. If they do a deep discount, I may still take a shot. Also, shame it is digital only. No selling if you don't like it.

@Ooyah Ooh. That is a shame if so. BB is my favourite Nes game. I really wanted it, but was holding off for a sale. The double pack that adds in Symphonies sounds a better package then. I think I hesitated slightly on Sugar Dungeons mainly because of the modern visuals. They were ok for Bubble Bobble: The Baron is Back, but there is something I prefer about the look of the classic ones.

Going to see the FNAF 2 movie shortly!

But yesterday, I started playing DYNAMITE HEADDY for Megadrive via NSO. I will likely play a little more of that if I can.

I was expecting a super basic platformer, but it really isn't. I feel it is a hidden gem. It plays like a cross between Wario Land 4, Wario Land: The Shake Dimension, Mischief Makers, and maybe a tad Kirby with the different abilities. It is developed by TREASURE, so that could go some way into explaining the feel. You play a Puppet man who uses his head as a weapon, but it can be swapped for different heads that can do different things good or bad. It has great music, controls, and is just really colourful. One to check out if you never have.

Have a good weekend all.

Kirby Star Stacker (GB) deserves higher, in my opinion. Played A LOT of that on NSO. Love it! Oddly more than the Snes version. No idea why. Maybe I was just maxed out from playing the GB version so much!

Kirby's Funpack (Superstar) is number one for me! First to include the co-op and helper ability.

Closely followed by Kirby and The Forgotten Land.

Kirby's Dreamland as well. Love replaying it. Obviously, that is included on Funpack under the remake of Spring Breeze, but it is the pure Kirby formula.

I love Kirby games, but I don't love racing games. Gave it a good shot and can appreciate that it is a well made game, but I honestly had my fill with the playtest. I was not encouraged to try further due to the motion sickness/headache that it gave me very quickly.

Wooooooooooo! Luigi's Mansion on NSO! It is so good! That is not news to me, as I bought it on launch day, but having so much fun playing through again. I'm making much faster progress than when I first played it! I'd say I'm nearly halfway through now, having caught 20 out of 50 Boos.

It's wild to think about it now, but the general consensus back then was, "Ugh, Luigi? Where's my Mario game?". I am glad the reputation grew over time.

Have a fun weekend all!

I kept putting off this game. Only played the GC version, which I did enjoy! But was worried this one was a bit too doll house like with less game? Also felt the moment had passed, and nobody would be interested in trading etc. But this does tempt me to consider further. As others say, a new version is obviously not on the horizon...so now might be a good time to check it out!

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment?

I liked the first one on WII U a lot, but have never felt the desire to buy another entry yet. I don't know if I could really appreciate this for the Zelda lore etc like others. I do really enjoy the warrior format though!

I would love to see Nintendo and Koei experiment with the format in another game series. They had a stab with Fire Emblem, so who knows? It might be unlikely, but a super cartoony version with Mario could be a blast! Kirby would be a great fit too!
