I think it is wonderful that Nintendo are giving attention to wheelchair basketball. Nobody saw that coming. I have seen wheelchair users, who do play basketball, comment on the videos applauding Nintendo for this move. There are people this means something to.
That being said...it really does look/feel like part of the tech demo game. Maybe there is more content than we know, but if it is just these exhibition matches with no real progression, different modes, or extra thrills...not sure they can charge too much for this one!
@Broosh Booo. You are right. That would have softened the blow a bit. You used to get nearly 5 pounds of gold coins if you bought the special Switch voucher! If they are going to be charging that much for one game, it a bit mean not to at least let us have that. It would still be 'money' that we can only spend by using it in their shop. They still get something out of it.
@MrGawain Yep. Sounds fair. Free for NSO and maybe like 99p if you really want it otherwise......
Who will buy it at that price beyond streamers/reviewers for purpose of their shows?
Maybe there is more content then we think, but they didn't show it off well if so.
Not overly bothered as I don't spend much more than a minute or so on these pages anyway, but I hope there is at least DARK MODE. I always turn on Dark mode for any site that has it. Helps me see better.
@Ulysses "Dear Nintendo, I DON'T ALREADY HAVE GAMING FRIENDS."
Same, sadly. I have not played local co-op in years. Hoping Switch 2 will make it easier to play with a few people on here! I have done it a few times, but the lack of chat or messaging makes it quite hard on some games.
@Bolt_Strike Same...yet another slap from Sega to those who buy Sonic games at launch. Between this and the aggressive discounts that happen within 6 weeks. I have learnt. Never again.
@BrianJL Ah, thank you. I think I might bite for KIRBY DLC then. I have 100 percented it and wished there was more. Never expected there to be. Hopefully 20 pounds or less to upgrade. I wonder if the save data carrys over.
And will any normal Switch games work slightly better? Even a fraction? Or only ones with special patches/updates? I am getting confused with these Switch Switch 2 Edition games
Guys. I am still confused. If we have the original game...like KIRBY FORGOTTEN LAND...do we get a free update when that DLC/improvement pack comes in August? Or we have to pay as if new? I would be down for more Kirby! But I don't need to buy it again at 70 pounds..
I feel very bummed out by this. I know people will say 'Inflation etc'....but they were releasing Switch games this month and last at £50. That is not a few months worth of inflation.
@Traman500 Still processing it...I know what you mean.
I am still a little confused over whether it makes Switch games better? Like a little bit faster or clearer? And I don't need a Switch 2 version of a Switch game for that?
@Danny_ Hopefully you are right. Going from 50 as a base rate to 75...that is a leap and a half. If not, they need to give a seriously good new SWITCH 2 voucher scheme. Like 100 pounds for a pair.
Hmm. Never played and have no interest in source material, but did enjoy Jumanji. Not a cinema watch for me, but shall add to my Cinemaparadiso rental list. Yes, I use a dvd postal service. Stupidly more choices than any 1 streaming service and nothing censored. Also stupidly expensive, but I will support till it folds.
Wowzer. would be interesting to see what games they would put on it given they chose to remaster/remake and sell some heavy hitters like Sunshine, Pikmin 1+2, Prime and TTYD for Switch. Not that this does not leave scope for a huge amount of other bits! Wind Waker, Double Dash, Various Mario Sport titles, Eternal Darkness, Starfox Adventures, those Pokemon RPGs, Luigi's Mansion....could be possibles.
If Sega do decide to get in on the action, imagine Phantasy Star Online in a form that is actually easy to play...online. Haha. It was very ambitious for the Gamecube in 2003 to get that to work, or expect people to buy a modem and keyboard for pretty much just that game. I am sure it would feel clunky as heck now, but I still have fond memories for it, even if I never beat it or got very far.
I mean...I would not be surprised if indy developers or tiny studios did not have the chance to buy one yet, but I really doubt NO big 3rd party has one. Maybe your EAs or SEGAs etc.
@Anti-Matter Wow. Thanks very much for the detailed explanation. I did very much like The Sims, especially Bustin Out, which was a little more objective based. Will keep my eye on it!
NA for me. Keeping an eye on this new Switch game. I am very ignorant of what this is, but saw people keep begging for a new one and holding it in high esteem. Not sure it will be for me, but I will look for reviews on it when it comes. Do you actually control these characters? Or is it watching only? Like Sims?
All things considered, it is the first we have had in the lifespan of the console and we are in the shadow of an upcoming Switch 2 launch. This, and the fact that they are viewing NSO as a carry on to the next console, with the library going over, suggests to me that drops off won't be as bad as some scaremongers always insist on. This all said, I would be interested to know if they (Nintendo) have stats on what games are being played on the service, and whether barely played ones may not get renewed.
I like reading what people are playing and thoughts on the games.
The poll is always interesting seeing such a mix of old and new and what sort of games are popular just now.
Final world of DONKEY KONG for GB (NSO). What an excellent game it has been. This and Pokemon Blue/Red were stellar examples of how much could be really done with that little machine.
Agree. Goemon is all the better for being SO Japanese. The few games the west saw were left largely untouched in that respect, save the weird decision to name Goemon and Ebisumaru as Kid Ying and Dr. Yang in the first game (which is barely more Western). Also, changing Old Wise Man's love of Hentai magazines to car magazines, but that one kind of makes sense why they would do that!
Pocky and Rocky was another that just went full Japanese folklore and **** it if you don't get it. Games like these opened me up to the Japanese culture and an appreciation for it. I love that they did games like this with no fear.
@canaryfarmer It was an amazingly fun hobby! 26 years ago...
Now? Yes, I can't imagine being into this now at all. Not even just because I was a child then, but it just looks like so much of the fun has been taken out of it. Not the game itself, but everything surrounding it :/.
You don't scare me. I have just crossed 300 pounds in Nectar Points. I WILL either buy this outright, or pay very little, courtesy of Sainsbury's shopping! Lol.

@CJD87 Yes! Good advise. They are another one who it is good to be cautious about! I think I heard that it even harms their initial sales they have been getting such a reputation for it!

@eaglesfly76 Goody. I love the music of Yoshi Story and Island. It is PART of the gameplay experience.
Re: Oops, Yoshi's Woolly World Featured In Switch 2's "Compatible Switch Games"
Ooh. I hope so. Is the music good for Wooly World? Crafted World has such bad music it didn't help me warm to it!

@Patendo It does seem very steep. I am hoping a Switch 2 voucher scheme launchs...£100 would be lovely, but probably 120 if they do.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Predictions - What Do You Want To See?
@PikminMarioKirby User name checks out.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Predictions - What Do You Want To See?
I think some heavy hitters that are missing from NSO.
Smash Bros 64? Donkey Kong 64? Diddy Kong Racing?
Unrelated, but maybe with Switch 2 having a microphone, they may give us HEY YOU PIKACHU! one day.
I predict Prime 4 getting the spotlight with maybe a Starfox.
As for re-master wants.........
Wooly World, Either Epic Yarn or Robotron, or Super PAPER Mario.
I would love Visions of Mana, but I don't see that happening now. I would happily take a Children of Mana though!
Re: Nintendo Direct Confirmed For Tomorrow, 27th March 2025
Hoping for a Kirby or Yoshi game myself!
