@acNewUpdates Isn't it funny that there will be people who are offended by the sexy images in the footage but won't bat an eye over the violence and guns shown?
That said, I agree with people saying that the gameplay of these types of games is usually lacking.
I know what I'm not playing: with my Pro Controller. The right stick started drifting and it's quite irritating. Other than that it will be yet another weekend with Monster Hunter Rise.
Last year actually with the amazing Hades . My top 5 is:
Bloodborne
Final Fantasy X
Dark Souls
Hades
The Witcher 3
It's kind of funny, whenever I think of my favourite games of all time Nintendo games never come to my mind even though I'm a huge fan of their games. I think they are just lacking that special something that pushes them towards GOAT material. Metroid Prime and Super Metroid are the closest so far for me.
All the big first party SNES and NES games are already available and the majority of worthwhile SNES games from 3rd parties have their own collection/games (Mega Man, Castlevania, etc.) so I'm not sure why anyone would expect any big additions at this point. I'd say we've reached a point at which adding another console's library (GBC, GBA, etc.) is the only way to give us some exciting games on NSO again.
Once again a very questionable inclusion of amiibo features. The feature unlocked via the amiibo should have been in the remaster to begin with. Amiibos should be mainly for collecting purposes and at best unlock some ingame collectibles that you can easily get by playing the game aswell (see FE Three Houses as an example for good amiibo functionalities)
This is such a stale franchise. You can usually tell each new entry in one of Nintendo's franchise apart from the older entries. That's not the case with the NSMB games imo.
It's okay I guess but you wouldn't know it had anything to do with Pokemon if you didn't watch the video. I much prefer the Post Malone concert we got earlier this year. It actually had some Pokemon music weaved into some of the songs (like Only Wann Be With You). That one also introduced me to PM and I'm a huge fan now.
It would be a lot more impressive if it wasn't so easy to hack shiny Pokemon into these games. I don't know how many shinies I have myself but the number vastly increased over the last year thanks to the events in Sword and Shield and recieving a ton of shinies via wonder trade in Pokemon Home.
I'm playing some Monster Hunter Rise again after the recent update which was a surprisingly good update. I've also returned to my Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX savefile. It seems like I stopped playing right before the story actually took off and now I am quite hooked.
So I never played the first one but I recently decided to clean out my screenshot folder and was surprised to see that I took over 400 screenshots of Pokemon Sword. Clearly there is something about taking pictures of Pokemon that appeals to me. Seeing all those positive reviews, I'll definitely get this one
So, it definitely looks nice but you can clearly see it being a bit laggy compared to the current one so I prefer the current one. Sure, it's super basic but switching between games and accessing the options/store is so fluid I'd never want to trade that for some fancy visuals.
I really want to play ToCS 3 and 4 on the Switch but without having played 1 and 2 I can't bring myself to do so. Hopefully they port them to the Switch in the future.
The game is just as good as the first one imo. Though there were some item uses that were somewhat annoying to figure out/apply. Thankfully those moments were not too often. I'd say it's a game worth playing if you're into point and click games with lots of humour. You should definitely play the first one first though as there are lots of fun nods towards that game in the sequel
The recent indie direct has me in the mood for some indie games. I'm playing The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark, and There is no game: Wrong Dimension. I'm also trying to throw in a couple of matches of Wingspan aswell.
I tend to subscribe to the GamePass on PC every now and then since you can cancel it on a monthly basis which is very nice. The value of the GamePass is undeniable and if I were playing exclusively on PC or Xbox I'd probably never unsubscribe from it. I do however prefer gaming on my Switch over my other devices so I tend to buy games on it even if I could play them cheaper via the GamePass on PC. GamePass coming to the Switch would of course be a dream come true
The first one I played was Wild World but I lost interest pretty quickly. Then I played New Leaf and once again lost interest rather quickly. I'm still playing New Horizons a year after launch. Imo terraforming is the one thing the series was lacking for me previously. It's a gamechanger.
@Cynas Yeah, the flow of the game is really weird. It doesn't help that the battles get repetitive pretty fast with the same music being played over and over and the battles kind of dragging out. It's a cool concept but it isn't quite what I hoped it would be. I appreciate the pretty substantial update though.
After having played a bit over an hour, I have to say this review aligns with my impressions. The game changes from super cozy moments to very irritating moments all the time. One moment you are in awe with the environments, music and characters the next moment you are faced with hard to navigate environments, items that blend into the background and technical issues like stuttering, framerate drops and harsh object pop-ins. The amount of stuff you can do on a daily basis is incredibly limited, even moreso than in the Animal Crossing games. For the price it's alright, I guess.
10 is my favourite but I think 9 is the best one overall. I like FF7 but I'm not a fan of Cloud as a character so I can't really agree with the character poll
I still have my ambassador unit. On the hand I really liked the 3DS because of the dual screen (which I already liked on the DS), the neat albeit mostly ignored 3D effect and the wide variety of software it featured. On the other hand the hardware felt outdated pretty fast and the lack of proper analog sticks really hurt the experience for fast games like Monster Hunter, especially if you compare it to something like the Vita which imo has one of the best designs when it comes to a handheld.
Crafting in batches is heavily needed and should have been in the game from day one. Crafting something like fish bait is one of the most tedious things I have ever experienced. But that's just one of the many quality of life features that should have been patched in months ago like being able to eat multiple fruits at once, highlight the spot your tool is targeting, etc.
Apart from that, maybe give fishes/bugs random sizes so we can hunt for smallest/biggest creatures, something like the gold crowns in Monster Hunter. It would definitely add a new goal in the game for me and would give me a reason to fish and collect bugs after I donated them to the museum.
See, those cards are my one major gripe with AC New Horizons because it feels like the developers made the process of getting new villagers/rid of villagers you don't like extra tedious and annoying in order to make you buy those cards to get the villagers you actually want. It almost gives the game some Freemium vibe aka "wait 2 months for a chance to get your villager or spent 5 bucks to get it immediately". Anyway, enough ranting from me, that dress in the picture looks pretty cute.
I'm currently finishing chapter 3 in Bravely Default 2. I'm also going to do some matches with the lovely Pyra/Mythra in Smash Ultimate aswell as some Mario themed decoration in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
You can ride a fox with nine tails? Count me in. Rune Factory 4 was pretty good but its 3DS roots definitely showed. This one looks much better. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long for a western release.
@ChakraWarrior Oh man, after reading your comment I immediately saw it xD. For some reason I kept thinking the side of the helmet looked like an eye and it drove me crazy. Thanks for the clarification!

That just sounds like a repeat of last year's events which is a shame. I was hoping for something more substantial for the 2nd year.

I was quite addicted to Pokemon Puzzle League and Pokemon Channel back in the days. I miss these types of spinoffs.
