Re: Talking Point: How Many Hours Is A 'Short' Game For You?

MajinSoul

As many already said: it depends on the genre. I don't mind short games at all. I've beaten A Short Hike in roughly 1 hour and that game really sticked with me and left me very happy after beating it. I also don't use length as a metric to judge a game's value. I'd rather pay for an enjoyable short game than a long tedious game.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Have A 'Way' You Play Certain Switch Games?

MajinSoul

I play my Switch about equally in docked and handheld mode. For games that don't require much focus, I tend to play them in handheld mode while having Netflix, Youtube, etc. on the big screen. Story focused games I usually play on the TV.
I only ever use (wireless) headphones when playing the Switch on the go. Sometimes it's a mixture of both depending on mood.
Sometimes games surprise me though. I fully expected to play The Great Ace Attourney Chronicles in handheld mode but I ended up playing the entire thing on my TV.

Re: UK Sales Data Shows A Strong Start For Switch OLED

MajinSoul

@Ironcore People who never had a Switch. People who have a V1 Switch and want those upgrades like better battery life, screen and dock. People who wanted a second Switch specifically for handheld play but don't like the Lite. There are plenty of people who could be interested in an OLED Switch ...

Re: Pokémon Legends: Arceus Won't Actually Be An Open-World Game

MajinSoul

@Yorumi Not really. As you said, the Internet is not a proper sample group as there is a huge disconnect between the people commenting on online forums and the average gamer. Heck, even within the online community there is the issue of angry people being more vocal than the happy people. I spend a lot of time on Gamefaqs and it's always amusing to see so much negativity in the comments while poll results showcase that the majority of the people are actually happy with things, they just don't comment as often as those who are unhappy.
Btw: If online comments were any indication of the real world, Nintendo would have been out of business years ago with their outdated hardware

Re: Pokémon Legends: Arceus Won't Actually Be An Open-World Game

MajinSoul

@DomGC People on the Internet are a tiny yet vocal minority within the fanbase and whatever you see online bears no relevance to the reality of things. It doesn't even matter wether the people complaining about Sword and Shield actually bought the games or not because they are a tiny and insignificant fraction of the actual fanbase anyway.

Re: Video: Why Didn't Square Enix Port The Kingdom Hearts Collection To Switch?

MajinSoul

TLDR: Porting them requires effort and money but SE wants the customers' money without that.

I reallly doubt that it takes a dedicated porting team 2 years to port the 1.5 and 2.5 HD Remixes to Switch. Even then, the Switch is now over 4 years old and there was plenty of time to start working on those ports. The cartridge issue also sounds like a weak excuse. Stuff like this really makes you appreciate the Witcher 3 port even more.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Will Expand Its Switch Online Service With Game Boy And Game Boy Color Titles

MajinSoul

@dbeiler0814 I am all for buying games instead of emulating some ROMs you found on the Internet. However, buying a GameBoy and GameBoy games does nothing for the developers. You will not only overpay compared to the retail price back in the day you will also put that money into some stranger's pocket instead of supporting the developers who worked on the game. It's hard to call that "stealing" at this point. Now, if these games are available to purchase digitally that's another story.

Re: A New Limited-Time Pokémon Sword And Shield Coalossal Distribution Event Has Begun

MajinSoul

@VoidofLight The competitive scene is going pretty strong and GameFreak are regularly updating the ruleset about which Pokemon are allowed to use in order to keep it fresh. There are raids and dynamax adventures to hunt for rare Pokemon in PvE. GameFreak is regularly updating the wild area events to thematically increase the odds of finding certain Pokemon, some of them with very high chances of being shiny. There are now 2 forms of shiny Pokemon aswell as rare marks so there are now a ton of different things people can hunt for if they care about that aspect of Pokemon.
In short, there is plenty to do if you like collecting Pokemon

Re: Dragon Ball FighterZ Just Got An "Absolutely Massive" Patch

MajinSoul

@Wavey84 Nonsense. I own the game on Switch, PS4 and PC and the Switch version holds up very well, both in terms of visuals and performance. The only real downside are the long loading times on Switch will add up quite a bit. There are plenty of comparison videos on Youtube that showcase that your claim is just wrong.
