With fresh "Switch Pro" rumours and confirmation that Nintendo has no intention of backing down from its decision to wipe Mario from existence at the end of the month, it's been quite the rollercoaster week. Thankfully, it's now time for us to have a breather and chat about our weekend gaming plans.
Members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

Unsurprisingly, I'm still Valheim-ing quite a lot this week. Most of my play sessions involve going somewhere new, almost immediately dying, and then having to do an ill-advised naked corpse run. It's wicked fun.
In Nintendo world, though, it's been a lot of farming, which actually makes an interesting parallel with Valheim, a survival game with agriculture and crafting, but also monsters. I played a lot of Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town for our preview, and I'm also playing Harvest Moon: One World, too. Playing both at the same time is really not doing either of them any favours, and I'm thinking of doing a piece that directly compares and contrasts them so that no one else has to go through this themselves!
I also downloaded My Time at Portia and Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town as a palate cleanser for when I'm done with these two games. I've caught the farming bug again. Help.
My partner is still making his way through Ace Attorney, if anyone's wondering - he's on the case with Acro currently. I really hope Capcom remakes Apollo Justice before he gets to the end of the trilogy!

It’s interesting how as someone working for a gaming journalism website, with a wealth of games at my disposal, I’ve found myself having a ridiculous amount of joy playing back through Pokémon Blue on my Game Boy Color. I've just hit the Safari Zone and am really feeling the “Gotta catch ‘em all” spirit, so I probably won’t move on until I’ve done just that. Also, I can’t remember for the life of me why there is the option to throw a rock? Aren’t you supposed to get Pokémon to like you? Pretty sure if I threw a rock at my girlfriend she would have ran away a long time ago...

Hello everyone! Hope you're all doing okay. I've just started watching The Terror now that it's finally available on British shores (and oh my goodness, it's wonderful); with its distinct Lovecraftian feel, I've actually decided to go back to The Sinking City on Switch! It's not the most technologically sound game around, but I think it's well worth a shot if you're a fan of cosmic horror.
Time permitting, I'll also be chipping away at Zelda: Link's Awakening, which I've recently restarted thanks to all the Zelda 35th anniversary hype! It's a lovely little game, but I never got around to finishing it when it launched back in 2019. Hopefully I'll find enough time to get through it in the next week or so.

The recent reveal of Splatoon 3 reminded me that I never picked up the Octo Expansion for Splatoon 2, so that’ll likely take up most of my time this weekend. So far, I am absolutely loving the shorter levels and higher difficulty. I’ve got a feeling that Splatoon 3 may opt for a more open-world design for its single player campaign, but some part of me still hopes that they somehow follow up on this sort of level design.
Aside from that, I recently got back into Persona 5 Royal, as I want to play Persona 5 Strikers and refuse to spoil the story for myself. I’m about twenty hours in and so far have been amazed at how much the little tweaks and balances have improved on the original game. From what I’ve heard, it only gets better from here, so I’m quite eager to finally see for myself what all the fuss around Persona is about.

Hello. This weekend I’ll be jetpacking back into Apex Legends for a review of its Switch port, pinging targets left, right and centre and generally causing as much of a nuisance for my unlucky teammates as humanly possible. I played quite a bit of Apex when it originally released back in 2019 but it’s been a fair old while since I’ve took up arms in Kings Canyon so I’m envisaging some pretty tough times ahead as I get back into the groove.
Elsewhere I’ll also be taking a look at Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning to see how the revamped version of 2012’s cult classic RPG holds up on Nintendo’s hybrid console and, if I’ve got time, finally making a start – just two years after I bought it – on Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Have a good weekend whatever you’re up to or playing and stay safe out there!

Four years!? Seems like only yesterday I was hooking up the Switch next to my giant TV screen and hurrying up to the eShop to buy Fast RMX, a game I would use to take a break from adventuring in Zelda: Breath of the Wild. And as I look to my vast collection that began on that fated day I must give thanks to everyone who made this Switch success story come true.
This weekend is all about Wrestling Empire, Ghosts ’n Goblins Resurrection, Capcom Arcade Stadium, Turrican Flashback, Bravely Default II, Sir Lovelot and the incredible Blue Fire.
My game of the week is Robotech: Battlecry. Yep, the one on GameCube, not the HD Remaster stealth release from this past Monday. Now if only someone had the guts to put a proper new Macross on the Switch...
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...

I'm 15 hours or so into Gnosia and am having a really fun time with it so far so that'll continue to be my focus for the rest of the weekend.
1. Diablo 3 - Switch
2. Resident Evil 4 - PS4
Mostly Mario 3D World and Rive Ultimate Edition (great twin stick shooter)
Maybe some Among Us too to try out the new chat feature.
I ended up buying Bravely Default II today, so I’m gonna be playing that a lot this weekend! I’m making a lot of progress in Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, so I’m gonna keep chipping away at that too. And if I have any extra time, I’ll continue my second playthrough of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Lots of great games to play this weekend
Probably Cadence of Hyrule and Smash. I finally got the hang of the former, somewhat, so I can actually get somewhere now!
Horace - great game.
Bravely Default 2! A very good traditional but slightly modernized jrpg. Just to my liking!
A good few new library recruits planned, but no idea how many I'll actually download in time.😅 The Last Remnant, the biggest of them, is almost done, but the others like Blasphemous, My Time at Portia and Princess Maker FTCT (third flagship) are around or above 5 Gb apiece, it can stack up. And for the whole bargain Digerati bundle netted me, it's treated as a LITERAL bundle instead of, say, Bioshock or FFX dilogy packs - I'm by no means averse to playing Snakey Bus later, but do I have to download it every time I want me some Sunless Sea on board?😕 Cheapskates can't be choosers, I guess.😆 At least Tharsis and Earth Atlantis are moderately sized, so they're safe bets for the weekend.
Otherwise, many usual suspects - aragami biting, accused client defending, Paradise racing, Nightwave task and Tetris 99 theme grinding, Steelport scourging, Bionis and/or Alrest roaming, Rapture looting, Etria mapping, Valentia liberating... in no particular order. And I might atypically end up behind my laptop for this Sunday, which will mean a couple more maps in Namco x Capcom first and foremost - these stages take a while and there are over 30 still left, but I still hope to finish this crazy lovely game and move to its various quasisequels (starting with Endless Frontier) no later than this summer.
Stardew, BotW, and Bravely Default 1. Trying to plow through BD1 and Bravely Second before i buy BD2. Gives me an excuse to work through my backlog!
Also need to buy the Two Point DLC sometime and play that some.
Pretty basic for once with Bravely Default 2, around 30-ish hours in I believe, just entered Chapter 3 of the game. Game is alright, but I think all the small nitpicks have piled on in such a way that I can no longer say that this is quite on par with the 3DS entries.
The Mario stuffs also enticed me enough to boot up Animal Crossing for the first time in a while, my island had gotten infested by Tarantulas, Redd was visiting for like the 3rd time of all my time with the game (seriously why is he so rare), there was meteor shower and some bum Rat had just decided to move in while I was gone. It was a delighfully eventful AC session I'd say.
Firstly im furloughed in the UK so all week is my weekend....And my employer tops my wages up so I'm quite lucky to say the least.
Trails of cold steel series. Is my main focus at the moment, while I have the time. Im about to complete 2 and will probably start 3 the following week.
In between I am planning to play
Persona 5 Strickers
Super Mario Galaxy
Bayonetta 1/2
In hindsight this is more my gaming month than weekend! Lol.
I played PS3 games for this weekend. 😀
1. Hakuna Matata
2. Cars 2
3. Motionsports Adrenaline
I have unlocked new place on Hakuna Matata, took some snapshots of new African animals. This was my practice before i play New Pokemon Snap as they are same photography games.
I have unlocked Class 4 for Cars 2. Hunt mission on Class 3 were quite difficult as the Lemon cars was pretty fast to be targeted.
For Motionsports Adrenaline, i played casually by choosing Mountain Bike and Kayaking as the easiest sport to unlock new stuffs. So far i have unlocked 15 from 46 stuffs. I turned off the music as it was suck to listen.
Oh, wait...
My games order has been arrived ! 😄
I bought 7 games from Tokopedia:
1. Transformers Prime Wii U
2. Beijing 2008 PS3
3. Bolt PS3
4. Sonic Lost World 3DS
5. Yokai Watch 1 3DS
6. Super Mario 3D All Stars
7. Dance Dance Revolution 2nd ReMix PS1
I will play all of them tonight. 😁
But, i have to play Animal Crossing New Horizons first as i have made appointment with my student to play at 6 pm.
i am playing splatoon 2 again (the announcement got me!) well, its a great great multiplayer title, so most of my time will go in this one...
and i am thinking about buying Arms.
but i don’t know... the playerbase is maybe too small? and skill level too high? would i find matches against other beginners? (i am only interested in online multiplayer)
any Arms players here?
Playing Diablo II, maybe I’ll be able to import my Paladin onto Switch later. And, Baldur’s Gate 2. Had to restart because I messed up an NPC quest chain and the Switch version only has a few save spaces.
Capcom Arcade Stadium is amazing. The virtual arcade aspect makes it the best retro compilation. Plus the wealth of customisation options. I’ve started Crysis remastered as that’s been on the backlog for a while. I’m having trouble with tanks after rescuing a hostage. I want to push on with Horace as well.
I've still got about 30 shines to collect in Bowser's Fury. I'm about to finish MGS Twin Snakes on the GameCube. I've really been feeling like Zelda lately. I started new games of BotW and TP, so I'll be playing those, as well. I also started new games of Diddy Kong Racing and DK64 on my N64. Plenty to keep me busy.
Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
This week I will be mostly playing
Super Pyra Bros
New Horizons
Pokémon White
Age of Calamity
StreetPass Fishing/Zombies
Busy week
Civ 6 and Persona 5 Strikers on the Switch, Cities Skylines and HZD on PS4.
For me this weekend is a relaxing one so I will be heading back to Golf Story. Something nice and slow paced thank you.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate (am preparing myself for Rise).
Finished Yakuza Like A Dragon today, so I think I’ll keep it chill with some online games like Battlefront 2 with friends. Maybe some Mario 3D World if I’m watching something mindless.
Switch - Smash Ultimate, practicing with Pyra & Mythra. Leaning more towards Mythra though!
PS4 - GTA Online with friends tonight while eating takeaway chicken lol.
Finally finished the Witcher this week.. debating whether to start the DLC or move into another game in the backlog..
Now that I have a pipe warp to Redd, the snow has melted, young bamboo available... Time to redecorate in ACNH!
I'll also check out the new characters in Smash Bros.
Actually on a new run of Zelda Breath of the Wild for it's 4 year anniversary, it's like rediscovering how good the game was.
Edit: Also for the Macross game, something like a cross between Starfox Assault and Zero (sans gamepad) is pretty much how a new one would end up. The chicken would be more nimble as Soldier mode (think transformers Devastation). The key would be in level design to make the game engaging.
@quigtendo ooh! You need to start Blood and Wine dlc in Witcher! It’s sooo good
I've gotten back into mario kart 8 deluxe! currently trying to get gold on every cup.
Sorted out the unlocks with the new Smash DLC and the Bowser's Fury event for Tetris 99 on Friday so now I'm back to Bravely Default II. Currently at the final demo portion in the full game so it's a bit boring replaying the demo content. Would've much preferred if the final demo was the Prologue with save data transfer to the full game instead of Chapter 1.
On the Xbox front, maybe MCC but overall the focus is finally back on the Switch.
@Whalehome weekend sorted.. I don’t think I needed much encouragement to stay adventuring with Geralt for another weekend 😂
Mario 3D World is great! I am playing solo and with my kid.
The new items in New Horizons have brought me back. Besides collecting every item, I began some new terraforming projects. I like the laid back, almost meditative game play, but the terraforming and crafting give an outlet for creativity. I cannot believe that I have been playing this almost every day for almost a year.
Rocket League, less than a month before this season is over and I have almost got to my final car upgrade.
Happy gaming everyone!
I tried playing the original Pokemon games a while ago, and I found them terribly slow. Thank the maker for emulators and their clock speed options haha
I will play with my hamster mainly, but I will also play F-zero GX a bit while he sleeps <3
I thought I was done with Stardew but got to about summer then bored but mite have another go. One game that has got me is farm together PS4. Now that’s what I’m talking about. It’s simple to play but so much fun. A game that understands that when you press a button, fun happens and the sound effects are delicious xxx otherwise mite try final fantasy 7 old version. I’ve only played 10 mins before. Xxx
Pokemon Sword and trying to catch them all! That Pokemon Direct got me HYPED!!🙃
This victory strengthens the soul of Mitsurugi
Bravely Default 2 & playing catch-up on my ACNH island.
Bravely Default 2, Mario 3D World, and Ghosts N Goblins Resurrection.
Speed Limit on the Switch, having a blast with this one.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons, doing daily activities and ordering the Mario items.
Hypercharge Unboxed probably. I just purchased it, so I haven't played the full game yet, but looking forward to seeing how it goes.
Starting Anodyne 2 today and hopefully make some progress in mega man x8. Playing through all mega man and X games with a friend and the last 3 X games are so awful
I'm currently finishing chapter 3 in Bravely Default 2. I'm also going to do some matches with the lovely Pyra/Mythra in Smash Ultimate aswell as some Mario themed decoration in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Approaching 20 hrs into Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology on 3DS. Totally engrossed in the story and characters. The multiple timeline mechanic is also well handled although can be a bit finicky. It almost adds a puzzle element to it all.
Otherwise I may either play some Mario All-Stars or see if any of my shm’ups on Switch need a whirl. Plus continue to hold off buying Capcom Arcade Stadium unless they fix the lag issues.
I'm playing Cloudpunk at the moment. Might also dip into a bit of Fenyx Rising.
I can't over emphasize what a great game bravely default 2 is! Defeated Bernard and was thinking no other surprises, then comes castor! I won't spoil it for anybody.. for those who mocked this game, you better grab your copies and see for yourselves!!!
I started a new game file in Link’s Awakening last weekend and I’m currently negotiating the walrus in search of the Angler key. Such a weird, wonderful and utterly gorgeous game. Having so much fun. I’ve also just rolled the credits in 3D World’s main campaign. Other than that, the odd run in Dead Cells. Though I may change things up and switch to Hades for a run or two this weekend. I’ll see how the mood takes me. Oh, and with my daughters home this weekend, we’ll more than likely fire up MK8D, though I’m going to try and convert them to Smash Ultimate instead. Wish me luck!
I won’t be touching my Switch much, just some daily ACNH stuff, maybe a little Shield but most hours will be spend surviving as a viking in Valheim
Most likely put most of my time into bravely default 2 and finishing fire emblem three houses. Then when the misses wants to play harvest moon one world il jump on the ps4 for some hunt showdown and start my second play through of trials of mana
Space Dave, Glory of Heracles and Pokémon Unite
@Rpg-lover I agree with you such a good game, on payday I made the choice to get this over persona 5 strikers (PS4) and I don't regret it
Besides the usual ACNH and Splatoon 2 I'm having fun replaying Pokemon Sun. Poke Pelago is a lot of fun.
I hope everyone has a good weekend.
For me, it will be playing Bravely Default 2. The game is certainly better thanks to the director and developers listening to the feedback.
VALORANT, maybe OW.
Cattails, where stardew valley meest Warrior Cats 😋
Picking up bravely default 2 later on looks awesome heard some great things about this game
Sega rally 2 on Dreamcast have some times set by my brother that I’m desperate to beat but I can’t get anywhere near them 😂
More Stardew Valley for me, I am tackling the Mr Qi quests!
I've had such a tiring week so will spend most of my time on Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Yoshi's Crafted World.
800/900 korok seeds. Almost there! Trying to do it without a guide (zone per zone) but with the mask eats up my time. But I like it way more that way.
Should have Persona 5 Strikers finished this weekend. It's been so so good!
Finally Beat Zelda II earlier this week on Wii, so I started Minish Cap last night on my DS Lite. Doubling down on retro Capcom with Mega Man 5 on Switch via the collection. Playing the word jumble mini-game you unlock after beating Typoman on Switch. Probably will squeeze in some Yoshi’s Crafted World.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I am currently in the process of de-New Leaf-ifying my entire island, so I have a lot of work left to do until I get my island to look the way I want. Besides that... I dunno what I will be playing this weekend.
Last weekend I finally polished off 3D World and completed every single level with all characters. So now I'm working on Bowser's Fury. I imagine there will also be some Animal Crossing, some Smash Ultimate, and some Bit Trip games this weekend.
@UltimateOtaku91 best decision made.. no regrets here as well, or though i have brought persona 5 strikers for the switch (played 11hrs, will continue after BD2).
Can't stop playing this beauty (BD2).
I finished Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 on Switch. It was fine, not exceptional, just fine.
I’m also playing through Astral Chain on Switch, and playing through Final Fantasy 7 (original) on PS5 for the first time.
Playing a hand full of games along with daily games of Madden and Wreckfest.
Nintendo Switch: The Original Legend Of Zelda via The NES App. As someone who has never played the original i'm not feeling the history behind this game i Dont see why its so popular and fyi im 34 and not some kid playing for the first time. On top of Zelda i'm also playing Pokemon Shield.
PlayStation 4: Trying to play through Assassins Creed 2 via The Ezio collection. I'm trying to make it my 11th platinum as the original version was my first platinum on PlayStation 3 also just downloaded Oddworld: New N' Tasty for a play though before Oddworld SoulStorm hits.
Over on the Xbox 1 front Outside Madden and Wreckfest i'm playing Resident Evil 7 Biohazard before Resident Evil Village hits. Also playing Kona and the Outriders Demo. I was hyped for the Outriders but the Demo kinda cool me off from it.
DQ11s on Switch, FFXIV on PC
Smash Bros Ultimate on Switch and Hitman 3 on XSX.
Pokemon X:
My first play through, and I'm 30 hours into this gem, I love it so much already!
Geometry Wars 3! Geometry Wars Galaxies (ds)... love these games several times a week.
Mario Golf 3DS:
Also great and I take my time through this.
Virtua Racing, I'm so close to coming first on the expert track. Got so much value out of this for £4, highly recommended to anyone who hasn't purchased it yet. Considering getting Link's Awakening too.
I’m rotating between setting speed records on Mario maker 2 and I’m finally getting the hang of smash bros ultimate so I don’t fall off the stage after every move.
On my 57th run of Sonic Heroes, my goal is to 100% all 99 save slots.
I'm pretty sure that I'm going to start my ACNH island over. So mostly playing that. More Gris as well, since I haven't had time to finish it this week.
Playing a bit of WRC 8 getting ready for 9 coming out next week. 3ds is back out playing some Sonic Racing & Mario Golf.
Mostly Rocket League, a bit of Splatoon 2, maybe some Mario Sunshine or Mario 3D World.
More Final Fantasy VI on the SNES Classic for me; I wasn't able to progress much this past week due to a crazy schedule (Ugh, adulting). Currently gallivanting around Narshe again and just recruited Mog the Moogle.
After a brief Switch break, I intend to dig into my LRG copy of Return of the Obra Dinn later. I find the premise intriguing and really enjoyed a previous game by Lucas Pope, Papers, Please. Let's hope I don't get TOO lost. XD
I've also been diving in and out of Star Fox 64 3D. I'm normally not into shooters, but I've been pleasantly surprised by how much I'm enjoying it!
Finally, today is the Fletchling Community Day in Pokemon Go. I intend to get out for about an hour to bag a few shinies! The weather is decent today too. Wish me luck!
Have a great weekend! Stay safe, and happy gaming!
Classic Dooms, on Switch and online on Zdaemon.
Also building my Level with the ultimate Doom Builder.
Modded Terraria, again!
Probably finishing up Link’s Awakening DX (3DS VC) in the next few days (about to start the 7th dungeon).
Also, more 3D World solo and with kids. In my file I am on the last level in Bowser world.
Final Fantasy XII, Skyrim and some Octopath should fill my time. Also it's Saturday so DnD night, baby!
Pokémon Blue Version (GB) - Arrived in Cerulean City and began clearing out the trainers on Nugget Bridge and heading towards Bill's cottage.
Wordament (Android) - Still playing nightly
Fruit Ninja (Windows Phone) - Also still playing during downtime.
Pokémon Ruby (catching the regis)
Rocket League
Mario Kart 8 deluxe
Playing a ton of Pokémon sword and doing my first run through of Pokémon blue. Also for the anniversary, playing through SK:Specter of Torment again.
I’m still going with Persona 5 on my PS3 - while the story can be adolescent at times and progress so slow for me, it’s compelling. I’m itching to play an action version of this in Strikers.
During the day I’ll probably find time to play more super Mario 3D World or Knights and Bikes with the kiddos.
Whatever your game, may you enjoy it and have a fun weekend!
I've been sucked into the Littlewood abyss and I can't seem to pull myself out.
I'm still playing through the fantastic Persona 5 Strikers on my Switch, and about to dive into the third jail. I'm also playing The Division 2 with my friend on the Xbox Series X. That game is so good.
Got back into Smash Bros. The new Xenoblade characters are pretty cool on here. Also be playing Animal Crossing, Super Mario 3D World, and Capcom Arcade Stadium.
Yakuza 7 Like A Dragon for PS5 since I was too busy playing 0-6 when it came out on PS4, lol
I’ll give the smash dlc a gander, catch my past sea creature on animal crossing, play a little shovel knight, and possible play some outbreak on Cold War with some pals. I’m not hurting for stuff to play at the moment.
1. Finishing up SMT IV: Apocalypse (3ds)
2. Robotech: Macross Saga HD (Switch)
3. LoZ: Oracle of Seasons (3ds)
4. Unchained Blades (3ds)
Bowser's Fury, Age of Calamity, with some Tetris 99 in between.
Persona 5 Strikers, I’ve just started the 6th dungeon
I played more of Goemon 64 and Valiant Hearts (Switch)!
Demon’s Souls, original version.
NINJA SLAYER OF DEMONS APPROVED
UMBASA
Not much. Monster Jam Steel Titans 2 a littlebit. But it gets repetitive.
Currently Playing,
Fight Crab (PC) - Almost finished the campaign, playing abit of offline fights with the CPU. (online is pretty much dead.)
Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator (PC) - Army wars, that's pretty much it.
Ultimate Arena (PC) - same thing, but it's one for all instead. haven't play since the last update.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons (NS) - Mario Stuff.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate (NS) - Spirit Board.
Identity V (PC) - gotta get Don or Gilda Skins.
edit: remove Diablo 2, as i'm gonna be playing IDV instead
@lovesushi I just bought ARMS and Splatoon 2 myself. I bought ARMS because the motion control scheme really interested me because I did a little boxing training as a teenager, I love it! I've yet to venture into the online game but I've been playing the single player Grand Prix in-between play sessions of other games and it's a great change of pace & a beautiful game! The characters are really full of personality and all have interesting differences in their play styles. I can also see how the gameplay & combat can have a shocking amount of depth when you get deeper into it, it's very easy to learn but seems a challenge to master & perfect. If you get it and need someone to play against, get at me!
I'm playing the guitar this weekend. Oh, you meant videogames! Okey, then I'm playing Decay of Logos, a surprisingly good RPG. I wonder why so many reviewers trashed this one.
my switch is being shipped back from the repair centre, so if i get it back tomorrow I'll be finally beginning link's awakening. was gonna start nmh 2 but now that the special editions have been announced I'm holding off.
@GalacticBreakdown Hey, that’s cool. if i devise to buy it, i will contact you for sure for some matches .
Super Mario 3D World - played it on the Wii U and playing it again on the Switch
Currently trying to finish my fourth playthrough of Fire Emblem: Three Houses! I'm also occasionally playing some ACNH on the side as well. I got to the henne mines in FF12 and idk what happened but I just haven't had the motivation to continue so I'm taking a break from it.
I did play smash bros for a little bit when pyra dropped but I feel like I'm finished with the game again lol. I really enjoyed the spirit battles, and I also did classic mode for her. I did a few battles as well which were pretty fun for like an hour or so. Personally, I really wish they had more single-player content in this game. Smash feels so reliant on its online play and even then its online isn't the greatest at times.
this weekend will just be halo and monster hunter...maaaybe Persona 4...lazy with that game once again
Mainly Hunt: Showdown on PC and also some Resident Evil 7. Also I gotta do some springcleaning in Animal Crossing NH.
Anyone got a 3D platformer to recommend?
The same thing I play every weekend, Mario Maker.
Gonna play Persona 5 Strikers this weekend, but I think it's safe to say that I should really get a mainline Musou game in the future. This is my fourth musou-styled game after playing Hyrule Warriors, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Age of Calamity.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon. It's great so far. I'm on chapter 5 and just saved Nancy.
@Kaori-chan #108 "Aside from that, I'm trying to finish the bonus levels in Pullblox before I move on to Fallblox."
Ahh! Those are some of my favorite puzzlers! I kinda have an urge to buy the Wii U version now.
Undermine
Dicey dungeons
Steamworld quest
Still Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.
I bought G.I. JOE: BLACKOUT DELUXE EDITION on "sale.". After 10 minutes I immediately regretted my decision. $25.00 USD down the toilet. I just don't understand how a game can have WORSE analog aiming that DEVIL'S THIRD???
For me it's been 3d world/BF and polishing off age of calamity which was my first hack n slash game
I’m still going strong in Cat Mario- I’ve been playing with my wife on her profile which I noticed is drastically further than my own so I might have to remedy that this weekend. I also barely started Cattails this past week which is... I mean I get to be a cat lol.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Phoenotopia Awakening - I hit a wall with this one about 6 hrs in and left it for months. Made it over that hump about a week ago and now I absolutely love it. This could potentially end up as one of my favorite games ever. Great puzzles, good pacing, great humor and music, and an interesting world to explore.
May dip into Cyber-Shadow a bit as well, as I haven't beaten it yet, but getting close.
Happy Gaming all!
@Altina you still adventuring with my favorite elf boy, Link? Honestly, I haven’t finished the game yet. I kinda don’t want to because I sincerely don’t want the adventure to end. Haha...
Bravely Default 2, Animal Crossing, and Overwatch for me this weekend. As always, happy gaming y’all!
@shining_nexus Currently taking a break. I feel like wanting to play Pokemon now. But I don't own Pokemon at the moment. However my Pokemon Home Premium is still going (because I'm doing a Living Dex. Which means, that you OWN every Pokemon and their pre-evolutions and whatever)... I set that up a year ago when I had a Switch Lite only for Pokemon. I also own the expansion pass for Pokemon Sword. The downside is, DLC2 brings FIVE new legendaries. The story legendary, two regies and two horses. However you need to CHOOSE one regi and one horse. If you want to have the other ones you need to start a new game (and Pokemon only has one savefile). I was able to get one regi and one horse via trading in Pokemon Home. So, when I get Pokemon Sword again next month I can play DLC2 and choose the other regi and the other horse and DAM-DADAM-DAAA~!!! So, when I'm done with DLC2 I would be at 883/898 Pokemon... The only other Pokemon I don't have are event Pokemon that Nintendo gifts away sometimes or you need to get a code from GameStop...
But aside from these I would be done then. NEW GENERATION, WHEN?? It's cool that Gen4-Remakes are coming and that GameFreak is with Legends Arceus trying do something new... But... I want to collect new animals, please? :3
However, I don't own Pokemon Sword right now. So I'm playing Mario 3D World. I'm in the Crown World, where the Champions Road is. Oh well that might take a while...
I'm also nearly halfway done with Bowsers Fury (going by insignias).
So, when I have both of them done I could sell that maybe. I have that and Zelda retail because I noticed AFTERWARDS that Nintendo learned how to do sales meanwhile! I prefer digital... I hate it to have too much stuff at home. Or when more than half of the games collection doesn't exist retail but you still have retail games for whatever reason...
Oh yeah, going to 100% BotW too. Because that's what I do. Playing games until they are done.
I heard Hyrule Warriors 1 is fun to 100%. That it would take more than 1000 hours and isn't intended to be 100%ed. Challenge accepted...
@backlogrob yakuza 7 was my first foray into the series and I’m really considering going through the lot of them, especially since Like a Dragon had several callbacks to previous ones I found out.
@Whalehome yakuza 7 is a good but weird starting point as far as I can tell. Like, the rest of the yakuza games are paced similarly but they’re an entirely different genre. I still recommend! (:
We opayed nearly 70 games of Pikmin 3 Bingo Battle last night.
I finished Horace!!! Well, I'm still missing two songs and a handful of memories, but I'll probably never figure out how to get them so after I've watched all of the cutscenes in the theater I'll walk through the final door.
Smash bros. And maybe some hades
Valheim, Kirby's Dream Course (Twitch Stream), Borderlands 3.
@Altina Wow, you are very hardcore when it comes to completing games. With that much dedication to Pokémon, you’re probably going to play the series for life! That’s pretty cool. I returned to Pokémon with Sun/Moon (skipped GBA and DS gens). Got Sword and for the very first time, completed the Pokédex! Still trying to complete Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra Pokédex however. Slowly, but surely!
Good luck with completing BoTW and Hyrule Warriors... that is quite a task. I’m thinking of trying to complete Bravely Default 2, but with Monster Hunter Rise releasing soon, that may be wishful thinking. Anyways, don’t forget to have fun!
@shining_nexus But beating games IS fun. :3 When I was looking at PlayStation profiles of other people and saw that they have 0-3 trophies on most of their games I always wondered what a nice childhood they had. I mean, I would never buy a 60€ game just to test it for an hour and never touch it ever again...
Sure, my childhood was garbage, but at least things have a value to me. I beat my games. I have my laptop for 33% of my lifetime now. But it's still doing its job. I only upgraded the RAM from 4 to 8 GB... No need to replace the entire machine. I don't even understand why people want new phones every year. That's a massive waste of resources in my opinion... But oh well, there are still a lot of people out there who collect retail games... in 2021... WASTE. OF. RESOURCES.
And yeah, I will always play Pokemon. It doesn't matter if I die first or the series dies first. I will be there until the end.
Awww you skipped the GBA games and started with S/M? How could you... Go and buy OR/AS for 3DS! :3 Also, if you're working on the Pokedex... OR/AS has the most Pokemon4buck, also nearly all legendary Pokemon. I started collecting Pokemon when Nintendo was like "Here you've Pokemon Bank. A cloud storage for Pokemon! Just 5€ A YEAR. ...please? :3". Before that I only tried to collect all the animals locally in the game. But had no way to transfer them somewhere else. So, Pokemon Bank made my Pokemon experience a lot nicer.
Well, the Switch version is 15€/year, but it's okay because it comes with an app for the phone too and the phone app has the GTS and the Wondertrade (Bank on 3DS was only a big pc-box basically). Also, Pokemon Home and Switch Online combined are still half the price of PlayStation Plus... <shrugs>
It's okay that you skipped the DS games. There will be D/P remake at the end of 2021 for Switch. And, awww... I love that artstyle. It's so cuuuute!! <3
@Altina Sorry! I’ll try not to miss any future Pokémon games from here on out! I think my brother may have Omega Ruby so I will have to ask him to borrow it when I get the chance. And I will be getting Pokémon Diamond. I also think the graphics are cute and am ok with the direction of the game, especially since I’ve never played the original. I’ll complete the Pokédex for that game too!
