Pokemon is a franchise that covers the full spectrum of gaming styles and levels; it can be a chilled out experience like in the recently released New Pokémon Snap, right through to competitive pro-level play. The achievement we're outlining here is definitely on the latter side.
@kyudan_pokemon has achieved something special (hat-tip to PushDustIn for sharing this), as they have collected every single shiny Pokémon. As you can see in the tweet below, they scroll through their Pokémon HOME collection to showcase the achievement, which will have taken in dedicated play across generations of games and systems.
As you can see there are a number very impressed Pokémon fans, including Junichi Masuda himself.
It's a pretty staggering achievement, especially in a series that purposefully makes these shiny pocket monsters so difficult to catch even in small numbers.
Share your reaction to this achievement in the comments, and perhaps let us know how many shinies you have in your collection!

The only natural shiny I’ve ever found is an Abra which immediately teleported away 😔
you mean a true sociopath?
I have never found even one shiny Pokemon And I owned and played all Pokemon games
I guess I am not devoted enough.
I think my first natural shiny was??? HMM, I can't remember, I have so many I got from trades LOL, But for some reason I want to say rockruff, But it was some pokemon in sun/moon or sword, as there were first pokemon game's I played.
And also GOOD LORD, keep him away from me.
We are not worthy of his grace
I can also do this by spending £15 on ebay...
Wow, impressive stuff. I've only ever found a small handful myself, but that selection includes Absol and Ralts, so its a very good selection
but he didn't have shiny alolan versions
This overall isn’t that special. Apart from a couple mythicals and a f$&kin Rolycoly I have every shiny.
I also have 300 deoxys ha
My first shiny was Oddish in Pokémon Gold. I was playing on a standard gameboy so couldn’t see the colours and just thought the sparkle meant it would give me extra EXP or something. Swiftly defeated it. Gutted when I found out.
Next one was a golden Geodude in Alpha Sapphire. I don’t even like Geodude but I like this one.
It is hard, but not as hard as it sounds.
With raid exploit, shiny pokemon is incredible easy to get, and Japanese players got over the years all the mythical events.
Gen 4 have the cute charm method and gen 3 has the cloning glitch (so you get one, you get all the line).
Gen 7 SOS and ultra space wilds make many mons easy to get too.
Besides that we got pokemon go, where odds are ridiculously favorable as long as you are a paid player.
Some monsters are not in any of those categories, those are the hard ones.
Also, as we’re sharing, my first shiny was on Leaf Green. I got a shiny Rhyhorn on the safari - caught with my last ball
This is probably pretty easy if hes grinding all the main series games and playing pokemon go - I have 2 GO accounts and have a total of 836 shinies - obviously lots of doubles but shinies aren't special anymore like they used to be once GO decided that new shinies were a feature
@abdias To be fair, I'm not a paid player and have caught most of my shinies from the wild - rarely do eggs or raids because they're a blatant cash grab - still managed to collect nearly 900 shinies in 3 years
Impressive but Pokemon Go has also made this significantly easier. Shinies are handed out like candy on Community Day in particular.
My first ever shiny was a Golbat in Gold. Then I couldn't find my cart but on the day of Heartgolds release and before I went to pick it up I found my original gold cart. Then on the second day of playing I found a shiny Zubat. That Zubat (now a crobat) has been with me through every game release after the elite 4.
I've caught one shiny in Let's Go Pikachu, the green Golbat, pretty sure that's it. I'd have to look through my collection to see if I have more. I'm a casual player so I don't really hunt for them but was super excited to see it & catch it.
@Gumbo1995 back on january I was lvl 38 and had 5 or so shinies. I spent for the first time on the shiny mew event, and a "miracle" happened. I am over 40 shinies now and I am on lvl 39 (didn't played that much that's my point).
The very first shiny I ever encountered was in GBA Pokémon ruby. It was a trainer's Pokémon...
I wanna be the very best, Like no one ever was...
to catch them is my real test...
TO TRAIN THEM IS MY CAUSE
only shiny i have found was a grimer in black v2, got a unlucky crit that KO'ed it
I have ~50 or so shinies in total. I've caught or hatched ~15 naturally, and collected most of the others from gifts and giveaways. Every so often, I've received (surely hacked) shinies via wonder trade as well.
@Munchlax happened to me bro, it was sad....
Sounds like a mental disorder.
My first shiny was a Weedle in Pokémon Gold. At the time I had no idea why my Kakuna was green but I kept it along.
Then "a friend" deleted my save data as "a joke"
A lot of them in Gen 8 are easy because of Pokemon Go but this is still kind of insane. I thought my regular living dex was impressive.
@Munchlax When I was little I found a shiny machoke and thought the game was broken/it was a boss so I just killed it
@Marioman2020 I will travel across the land
Searching far and wide
These pokemon to understand
The power that's inside
POKEMON
GOTTA CATCH EM ALL
I got my shiny in ORAS as a starter (Torchic).. I couldnt believe it
It would be a lot more impressive if it wasn't so easy to hack shiny Pokemon into these games. I don't know how many shinies I have myself but the number vastly increased over the last year thanks to the events in Sword and Shield and recieving a ton of shinies via wonder trade in Pokemon Home.
I wish I had that much free time.
The sad thing is, as much as these accomplishments take time and effort, people are flogging dodgy Pokemon Home packs with all Shinys included for less than £3 an account. Makes the whole thing seem utterly pointless now.
I have NEVER caught a single shiny. The only ones in my dex are from trades or special events, so I am blown away by this! Very, very cool. Talk about dedication!
I usually get 2-3 per game so add in the give aways, wormholes, breeding, dens and Pokémon GO!
I’ve got a complete Gen 1-3, and I only need a couple more for both 4&5. 😁
The two only single shinies I've ever came across were a shiny Rhyhorn in Sapphire (in the Safari, he ran away ☹️)
And a Trapinch.
Yeah, it's normal cause I don't have the patience to sink my time in shiny hunting
I caught a couple shinies in the Ultra Wormholes in Ultra Moon but I don't really count those. I think the rates are skewed in the wormholes. Other than the Red Water Onix, I have yet to see a shiny in the wild. The search continues!
If this were Pokémon Go, it wouldn't be so special. I mean, I have gotten at least one shiny on each Community Day and other events I've participated in and I've gotten some shinies in the wild like Poochyena, two Pikachus (one normal and one with the Christmas hat), Growlithe (while playing at 2am), Bunneary (right the next day after its Community Day), Geodude.
Now when it comes to the main versions, I've found Nidoran male on Gold (and I let him escape believing it was a glitch), Ratatta in FireRed and Unown in Diamond. The red Gyarados and the shiny Haxorus you can catch in Black2/White 2 don't count.
I'm actually on my way to accomplishing this goal. I currently have collected 658 of the 880 possible species that can be shiny. I've also collected about half of the possible alternate forms. It takes up a LOT of time and has caused my backlog to fill like nothing else, but I love the challenge.
For those curious, these are the only Pokémon that cannot be shiny right now (based on forms that can be kept in Pokémon HOME):
Pikachu (Original Cap, Hoenn Cap, Sinnoh Cap, Unova Cap, Kalos Cap, Alola Cap, World Cap), Articuno (Galarian), Zapdos (Galarian), Moltres (Galarian), Victini, Keldeo (Original Form, Resolute Form), Meloetta, Greninja (Battle Bond), Vivillon (Fancy Pattern, Poké Ball Pattern), Hoopa (Confined, Unbound), Volcanion, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Magearna, Magearna (Original Color), Marshadow, Melmetal (GMax), Zacian, Zamazenta, Eternatus, Kubfu, Urshifu (Single Strike + GMax), Urshifu (Rapid Strike + GMax), Zarude, Zarude (Dada), Glastrier, Spectrier, and Calyrex.
There's also technically Floette's Eternal Flower form, but that has never been distributed or even acknowledged as real by The Pokémon Company, so it may be the only official Pokémon that's permanently cut.
I regret to say that I've caught 4 or 5 shiny magicarps in my time. I also caught a few other shinies, but those stick out the most.
How much money did you say he made off this? How many hours did he study hard and gain productivity in his day by day life of priorities? Oh. Don't give a crap then😂😂
@Glitchling78 Similar story, though in my case my first natural shiny was a Rattata in Gold. I was very young and didn't realize naturally occurring shinies outside the Red Gyarados could be found in the wild. I fled from it because I thought the game was glitching out. XD It was just a common rat, but a shiny is still a shiny!
As I have come to expect from this site and Pokémon articles, lots of rude comments. 😞
Still, I think this is an awesome achievement!
Sword/Shield raid dens made shinies really easy to get. I use them myself and have nothing against them, but I don't find shinies that impressive anymore.
My first shiny was a Geodude I ran into in Ruby version when I was like 7 years old... and I thought my game was glitching so I immediately turned the game off lol. My brothers showing me the Missingno glitch a bit before I guess scared me a bit.
I wouldn’t find another shiny until just two months ago. Ran into a Poliwrath in the Wild Area in Sword and it just ended up being a shiny green Poliwrath. Obviously caught that thing and I finally got my first shiny... only took an extra 16 years or so.
Since then I’ve shiny hunted Swablu and Trapinch and got them both in reasonable time via the Masuda method. I wouldn’t shiny hunt the entire dex but I can see myself doing it for a few more of my personal favorites. It’s repetitive, yes, but also a mindless thing to do while listening to music or a podcast.
@Tyranexx I’m sorry for your loss if it helps, at least Rattata’s shiny is a gross colour!
@Munchlax
In my entire run of playing pokemon, I only saw one shiny. Caught a Zubat in Sun and brought that thing up to a Crobat.
@UltimateOtaku91 i already have lol. This person is late.
That's insane, I'm still like, thirty Pokemon short of having all of them, and they're obviously not shiny.
I think I've gotten three natural shinies? The first was a Gravler in Pearl that sadly knew self-destruct, the second was a Far-fetched in Y that I caught, and the third is a Wishiwashi that I got last month in Moon.
@Glitchling78 Haha yep, no huge loss, but I still mentally facepalm when I think about it! Good news is I found and caught a full odds shiny Gastly in the Old Chateau in Platinum years later. My only regret is evolving it.
Instead of honing a skill (can be done by playing almost any other game), this mad man chose to do the most mind-numbing grind possible. Chapeau bas to his commitment for sure.
The Red Gyarados in Pokémon Gold & Silver is the only shiny I have ever cought in my life, and it will most likely forever be the only one I catch. :/
All of you talking about encountering Shinys in the wild just reminds me of my terrible luck with Pokemon. I have never even encountered a wild Shiny over the years I've been playing, including Pokemon Go.
I'm going to assume he lacks some Mythical's and the Gen 8 Legendaries because those are shiny locked right now and can't be obtained legally. I have about 4 boxes full of them now, around half are legit what i caught myself, transferred or got from friends and the rest are hacked ones i was giving or got from the GTS where i can't know their true origins, either way as long as they pass for legit i don't care if there're hacked or not.
I bet they're hoping Gamefreak takes their time with introducing Gen9, lol
My first shiny encounter was a purple delibird in gold... it fled
@Munchlax Exactly the reason I never use my Master Ball. What if I run into something like that?
I gave up shiny hunting after defeating nearly 3000 Wooloo for nothing (should've done Masuda method I guess). But the one shiny I can brag about is my Blacephalon and running into it on my first encounter. Never saw it before since I played Pokemon Ultra Sun blind and only realized it after the sparkle effect 😊
I had caught two in my White 2 HOF team. But then again I spent SO much time grinding things I recall I had a crazy HoF time like 345 hours. So maybe that explains it.
And I got to know that shiny sound so much I'd have passed up a third if I didn't recognize it.
This shouldn't be possible without cheating. There are a number of pokémon you can't get shiny without hacking them in.
@Zuljaras I get them fairly regularly on Go. The shiny odds on there are stupid, especially on comm days and with legendaries.
@DeathByLasagna My first wild shiny was in Emerald, a Tentacool, I didn't think it was a glitch but I did something almost as silly. I named it "SHINY" in all caps. I still have it... still in all caps. XD
Truly a Master/Slave relationship.

My first Shiny was of course the red Gyarados in Gold, but the first random full odds one I’ve encountered was a Dugtrio, of all things, in X.
