It's the end of another busy week! We've crossed into a new season and territories across the globe are losing hours all over the place. In the last seven days we've found out Reggie is stepping down from GameStop's board of directors, we've seen old games continuing to sell for silly money, and — most importantly — we've witnessed the arrival of Banjo-Kazooie in amiibo form. Seriously, the last year has been a real piece of work, but gazing upon this colourful lump of moulded plastic... well, it feels like everything's going to be all right in the end.
Enough reverie — it's time to discuss our weekend gaming plans. Members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

Hello folks! Hope everyone's doing well. I don't know about you, but I was absolutely crushed when I read the reviews for the new Story of Seasons and Harvest Moon games. I'm in the market for a new farming sim, and while SoS sounds okay-ish, it just doesn't sound like either game comes close to the greatness of Stardew Valley. So anyway, yeah, it's back to Stardew for me this weekend!
Elsewhere, I'm still making my way through Super Mario 64 and may move onto Sunshine when I'm done. Super Mario Sunshine is like comfort food to me, I genuinely can't get enough of it. Which reminds me, you really don't have long if you want to get some of that 3D All Stars action!

I’m not sure why – I think I’ll go ahead and blame Zion for talking about his playthrough of it on Twitter – but I’ve once again ignored my horrible backlog to play the game I’ve probably played more than any other throughout my life: Pokémon Blue.
I’m having a bit of fun with it this time around, giving my party nicknames for the first time ever and purposely choosing some permanent team members that I’ve never played with before, and it’s amazing how well I remember the exact layout and location of pretty much everything Kanto has to offer. I can’t remember what I had for dinner yesterday, but I can tell you exactly which ladder you need to take in Mt. Moon to get to the next floor, or where you can pick up a Bellsprout should you want one.
People say the original Pokémon games are a bit of chore to play through 25 years later, but for whatever reason (nostalgia, probably) I could play this again and again and again.

My Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons reviews are done, so I am finally FREE to play whatever I want... and I've actually just been playing more Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town. I know! It's a 6/10 game! But there's still a lot to like about it, and I am enjoying it despite its flaws. Plus, Marvelous included the DLC in the press copy, which is unusual — and it looks like the DLC adds quite a lot to the game. Wait, I'm going to have to review the DLC, aren't I...
Other than that, it's the usual Valheim and Ace Attorney combo for me. Last night I built a wolf pen and I'm going to make the wolves love me. I pondered getting into Monster Hunter Rise, but sadly, it's just not my jam — and since I haven't heard anything about Poogie being in this one, is there really any reason to play???

Hello. This weekend, alongside every other Switch owner on planet *checks notes* Earth, I’ll be getting absolutely blasted into Monster Hunter Rise. I’m something of a newcomer to the series, with World being the first to really dig its claws into my game brain, but I’m still properly giddy with excitement to get to grips with all of the new stuff here, zipping about on wirebugs, galloping around on my Palamute and, of course, battering the life out of a spectacular array of wondrously epic beasties.
Beyond that, I’ll also be squeezing time in to continue making my way through Tales from the Borderlands for our upcoming review, making sure I login to NBA 2K21 for my daily rewards (I may be slightly addicted) and jumping into the Amnesia: Collection for the very first time after grabbing it for a criminally low price from the eShop earlier in the week. Have a good time whatever you’re doing or playing over the next few days and stay safe out there!

A weekend spent among vinyl records due to the arrival of ActRaiser and Haven soundtracks along with The Bitmap Brothers Odyssey (Amiga fans, represent!). Despite being surrounded by a ton of both new and retro games games, I will very likely be spending most of my weekend in or around Wrestling Empire. I am producing a very special tribute project in memory of a wonderful guy. Also, I need to give these new amiibo a go. I am certain most of my colleagues are head over heels (ZX Spectrum fans, represent!) about Banjo & Kazooie, but I can’t but help smiling for having the Legendary Lone Wolf sitting on my work desk. “Are you OK!?”
Game of the week is Monster Hunter Rise. This entry received a ton of upgrades that make this by far the best, slickest entry on Nintendo hardware ever. I just need to find proper mates for some decent hunts… otherwise, Felynes and Palamutes for life.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...

MONSTER HUNTER RISE!
Also some Amalur Re-Reckoning
Mostly just Monster Hunter Rise this weekend. Maybe get back to some A-Train if I find time now that the latest patch fixed my broken save.
Monster hunter!
Mario 3D world
Crash Bandicoot 4
Balan Wonderworld
Super Mario 3D World/Bowsers Fury
Everyone having Monster Hunter delivered but I've just got the Link's Awakening limited edition with it's awesome steel book, so I'll be playing some of that and listening to Marin sing. I'm also up to level 8 on the original Legend of Zelda before I play Zelda 2 again.
As for other games I've just finished Bowsers Fury which was a lot of fun so I'll be playing more 3d World and I might play some 3d All Stars too, all while my new Banjo & Kazooie amiibo stares at me
Astro Boy: Omega Factor and Kururin Paradise
I'll probably start Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, as well as starting Streets of Rage 4 to play in co-op with my wife. Her and I will also play some Big Buck Hunter World since I picked up the Arcade 1up cabinet of it last weekend. This is the first real weekend in about a month where I can really relax and get into gaming, since I've been non-stop busy with house stuff, parenting and adulting since our lockdown ended in February (in which i suspect we will enter another one in 2 weeks).
Balan Wonderworld for me. Is it bad to admit that I'm a fan of janky platformers like this? Lol, I know it's not well designed, but it's still fun to mess around in.
The only parts I genuinely dislike are the quick-time event miniganes... and there are like 40 of the collectables locked behind them. :/
Portia, Xenoblade, Burnout, Bioshock 2 and Princess Maker 3 are the primary suspects on Switch, accompanied by the chances of Skyforge, Rune Factory 4, Bloodroots, Bomber Crew, Valthirian Arc and the recent recruits like Woven and Unhatched. God Eater on Vita for sure (who needs Monster Hunter Rise when I can finally take Shio on missions?😃), Spirit of Justice and Final Fantasy Explorers on 3DS quite likely, and I also have the opportunity to get through another Namco x Capcom map today.
It's been dry from the switch side since I already had a wii u and played most of the first party games there. PS5 keeping me busy specially with the ps plus games lately.
Silent Hill Book of Memories, a great Vita game.
Definitely gonna keep plucking away at Trials of Mana remake myself. Literally today just got into CoD mobile so maybe some of that. If I finish ToMR I'll get back to finishing my latest playthrough of link between worlds.
Smash Ultimate "World of Light" on Very Easy (😂) as I want to finish it as soon as possible to unlock the option to change the menu music.
Rive: Ultimate Edition and collecting more stars/stamps in 3D World to work towards unlocking Champion's Road.
I played these games for this weekend. 😀
1. Yokai Watch 1 3DS
2. Animal Crossing New Leaf: Welcome Amiibo 3DS
3. Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA USA PS2
I have reached rank C for Yokai Watch 1 3DS and have obtained Komasan.
I revisited my 3rd island Xepher on ACNL Welcome Amiibo 3DS to check who want to move out once i logged in. I continued a little bit progress.
I played a lot of song on DDR SuperNOVA to get more points and purchased the unlockable songs with accumulated points. I made the fixed stepchart for Healing-D-Vision on Challenge based on DDR X.
I'll be claiming the Gold points from MH Rise physical and collecting the demo rewards but for the most part I will leave MH Rise until after I've finished Bravely Default II.
Though my focus this weekend will be Master Chief Collection. The game has gotten more active recently during the day (UK time) which was a rarity before. Perhaps the monthly Halo Infinite news and new Halo 3 maps incoming has gotten people hyped enough to return to the older games.
I'm thinking of buying worms WMD but Idk if its good or not, It would be the 2nd time I played worms since Battlegrounds, (I liked it but didn't) I heard battlegrounds was a bad worms game so I'm hoping this one will change my mind, What you guys think?
Bravely Default 2
Bravely default 2 ❤️❤️ continuation.
No spoilers. How can a high priest throw his subjects of the cliff! Because you suspect them of being a fairy?😟 Bizarre behavior.. can't stop until the ending.
Bravely Default 2 and Yoshi's New Island.
A RPG-heavy weekend for me... Monster Hunter: Rise on Switch and Yakuza: Like a Dragon on PS5.
Made a start on Paper Mario Origami King. Its as most folk say, the combat leaves a lot to be desired, but the humour and character interactions are decent.
Also started on Immortals Fenyx Rising, which isn't too bad either.
Almost beat 3D dot game heroes so after beating it I’ll probably start yakuza 0.
Besides that I finally caught a shiny tapu bulu in shield and finally bred a shiny vullaby so I’m now trying to get tapu fini and dhelmise.
I have lots of new stuff to jump around between. Number one right now is Hades, which I bought a week ago. Currently struggling to get past Meg. I've died around 25 times and petted Cerberus 25 times. He's a good boy.
I haven't found any dogs to pet in Spider-Man, but there was one mission to vaccinate some fish. It was boring as hell, and honestly I'm a little bored with the whole game. Cinematic as all hell, but not actually that interesting.
More fish LOTS more fish, in Subnautica, which I just got for free in Sony's Play At Home initiative. So far it looks lovely, but I'm going to put it on hold so I can actually finish some games.
I'll also be getting some Ring Fit Adventure in today. I just hit World 32. To those who doubt its staying power, I've been using this game as my workout routine for something like 14 months. It's still fun and I feel great.
NOTHING! Just finished Bravely Default 2 and I’m ready to not play games for a while now. It wasn’t the worst game but that grind did me in. I was level 50 for the final boss so I wouldn’t say I went overboard but it was still too much for me these days.
since my package that include with PSO hasn't arrive yet.
this is what i'll be Currently Playing instead.
Persona 4 Golden (PC): Complete Social Links, and going to finish the game pretty soon.
Sonic Adventure DX (PC): i'm beating the game again. hopefully i'll get enough emblems to unlock the other character you get when getting all the emblems. and beat all the characters to get to the final fight.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons (NS): grow more flowers, clean weeds and buy more mario stuff.
Evil Genius 2 (PC): i know the game doesn't come out untill this Wednesday, but i will be playing it launch and through next weekend.
The early access version of Subverse was released yesterday, so... 😅
Into the postgame of Dragon Quest XI S now. I really enjoyed my first 95hrs with the game, but what everyone says is true: the postgame is so much better.
All this means that Monster Hunter Rise is still in its shrink wrap - but that won’t last.
My girlfriend and I just moved into a new flat and she has brought her gaming pc with her. All my life I’ve had access exclusively to Nintendo consoles bar a PS2. Opening up Steam for the first time felt like I was a child in a candy store that sells a load of candy that all my mates have spoken about for the majority of my life and I’ve always wanted to eat but could never open the door to the store. You know that famous analogy.
Anyway, I polished off the first Half-Life in two days (I really loved the first half but then from Xen onwards it felt like something of a slog. I much preferred the dynamic exploration of the real world before it turned into a constant shoot out in the second half).
I plan to start Half-Life 2 this weekend, alongside still showing my Switch some love with Immortals, which I’m about 40 hours into and really enjoying in short bursts.
Almost. Finished. The witcher 3...
YS VIII Lacramosa of Dana, non stop.
Switch - Continuing to play through Crash 4, maybe a bit of Splatoon 2!
PS4 - Weekly GTA Online session with friends!
PC - Trying out the new Battletoads via Game Pass!
Have a good weekend everyone.
@Krull so far Dragon Quest XI S is at least in my opinion, the most amazing Switch game overall. The sheer amount of story, graphics, just everything shoved on that little cartridge. That game is amazing.
Got a good scare with the PSN Vita store closing rumors!
Decided to polish off a few short but sizable games.
Working on Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle! ...why aren’t these ported to the switch? ...and why hasn’t limited run given us a physical of these?!? (And grim Fandango)
Other than that.. Yakuza 0 on PS4, Robtotics; Notes on NSW, Bravely Default on 3DS
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze on Switch. Finally double dipped as I own the Wii U version too. Glad I did as it's an amazing game to spend many hours on once again...
Still chugging through Atelier Lulua, i can seem to manage it in short bursts whilst 'procrastinating' with Hatsune Miku logic paint, ACNH and various rhythm games.
I finished The Ancient Gods Pt. 2 yesterday on my Series X, so now I’m gonna attempt my first ever Monster Hunter with Rise. Other than that—I might be sleeping a lot because I had all my wisdom teeth taken out two days ago and I’m in agony.
Last night in Animal Crossing New Horizons I made one of those photo stand in. I may try making some more this weekend. Besides that the usual of Splatoon 2. Almost done with my Pokemon Sun replay as well. Enjoying it a lot.
Have a good weekend everyone.
I'll probably play a lot of Hades (only started recently, with the physical edition) and I have yet to make it out of hell. Otherwise, might pick up a few more shines in sunshine if I need a break.
Monster hunter obvs!
Hugely focusing on Monster Hunter Rise, easily the prettiest game I've played in handheld.
RBI Baseball. Really liking this year’s game!
MH: Rise with my MH themed Pro Controller
This week I will be mostly playing
New Horizons
Pokémon White
Age of Calamity
Ecco the Dolphin
My copy of Monster Hunter came in. I created my character and all that stuff so I’ll see how far I get into this weekend. Also playing Root Film, Super Mario 3D World, Animal Crossing and Smash. Not sure if I can squeeze all those games in there. Plus a few games I want to try to play on PS4.
Monster hunter rise, and mario kart as always 😊
I will be mostly playing MH Rise this weekend. I may also dip into a bit of Crash 4 and Burnout Paradise as well.
Will definitely be playing as much Rise as I can. Earlier this week though I completely stumbled onto one hell of a gem called Riptide GP Renegade. Holy f%#k does that come extremely close (if not right on) to filling the Wave Race Blue Storm void. For a indie $10 game its unbelievable how awesome it is and has lots of content Wish I discovered it earlier because Rise is taking up a lot of my attention now.
Still chipping away at Bravely Default 2 and Story of Seasons. Also going to log some more time in Marvel’s Avengers on the XB1X
Mostly BOTW (started recently for the first time, expect to be at it for quite some time). Maybe some post-Bowser’s-world 3D World.
@Mauzuri
Yeah, there are golden Balan hats strewn about the levels, that take you to "Balan's Bout" where, you need to do four, five, or six perfect QTEs that take place during a drawn-out animation of Balan either smashing objects, or fighting with Lance. You need to score all "Excellent" hits. If you get even one "Great" or "Good", then you don't win the Statue from that particular Balan's Bout. To get another chance, you need to beat both Act 1 AND Act 2 (and possibly the boss too? Not too sure) all over again, In order to reset the levels. It's a royal pain, and there are wayyy too many Statues locked behind them.
I'll be Hammering Monster Hunter Rise this weekend primarily. I also got a HDMI adapter for my OG xbox so in between hunts i shall demolish some mechs in the Mechassault games (not BC, so gotta use my old box). I find breaking up games with something different keeps them fresher for longer. Happy Gaming folks!
Pianta Town in Super Mario Sunshine. Almost at the finish line. The challenge of this game is on another level !
This weekend it's all about Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, as I'm really looking forward to diving into this game. Beyond that, I might play some Raiden V, maybe even some Super Bomberman R as well.
@Anti-Matter I love that you neatly aligned your games and took a picture of them for the post. It makes the post feel special. Very noice!
Hades and Bravely Default II, plus Danganronpa 2 on Vita and Dragon Quest V on DS.
Evil Inside, while im waiting for my copy of MH Rise.
Should finish up Crash Bandicoot 4 this weekend. I'm also in the middle of Bomb Chicken, which has been a complete surprise. As usual, I'll certainly do a few online battles in Pokemon Lets Go. I've also kind of been itching to do another Hades run.
For me similar to last week tbh
Series X - more Forza Horizon 4. Finally trying out Fortune Island and Lego Champions DLC
PS5 - checking out Tony Hawk upgrade and more Crash 4
Switch - Mario 3D world. Mopping up last stars/stamps to unlock the special world again
I'm "playing" SmileBASIC, as I do every weekend.
This week's game will be a space-based, planet-hopping platformer.
I'm gonna try to play as much Super Mario Bros. 35 as possible because...you know why.
For the 10 year anniversary of 3DS, I bought Pokémon Ultra Moon today. Missed out on some good games at the end of its era. I'm thinking of getting Story of seasons trio of towns as well.
Just got the physical version of Hades. It's a great game so far!
a-train: all aboard! tourism and monster hunter rise for me.
@riggs I didn't realise there was a Kururin Paradise, I've played the first game and Kururin Squash on the Gamecube but somehow missed Paradise - will have to check it out, thanks.
Also, Astroboy: Omega Factor is a cool game, very tricky getting the true ending.
@gabescc85
Thanks. 😀
I'm playing Yokai Watch 1 3DS right now.
Littlewood finally came to europe so i'm "slightly" addicted to that
Just Monster Hunter Rise and Animal Crossing New Horizons for me this weekend which should keep me plenty busy
Playing some Sega Superstars Tennis this morning. Also, planning to play some Sonic Battle and Spellbreak if I get around to them. Will probably check in with my Animal Crossing island this weekend.
Still playing Cat Mario! Working on getting the last stamps. We’ve got most of the character completions just need the harder/unlocked levels. Also we tried out Champion’s Road and I’m not sure how we’re going to get through that 😂 let alone multiple times... Any tips?
Also working on Journey to the Savage Planet before it leaves GP on Xbox.
Have a great weekend everyone!
I'm still working through much of what Final Fantasy VI (SNES Classic) has to offer. I'm at roughly the 40 hour mark and still need two characters! I keep finding side quests around every corner, though I'm running out of spots to look for party members....
FF is my main focus, but I do hope to dive back into my Pokemon: Let's Go Eevee! playthrough. I think I prefer the mainline games when it comes to the catch mechanics, but I'm still having fun with it. It's a nice hit of nostalgia at any rate! Currently sitting at two badges and just helped out Bill with his...problem.
A little Pokemon Go this weekend too (I may have a Poké problem....). Mostly when I'm out; I don't intend to do the Rayquaza raids much.
Have a great weekend! Happy gaming!
I’ll probably keep to AC:NH on Switch unless I fancy more Super Mario 64 in 3D All-Stars or a couple of Worldwide Games.
Imma also attempt to collect all the new Sanrio stuff in Pocket Camp and attempting to see who my favourite villagers are to see if I should hunt for them in New Horizons, as well as playing the usuals of Pokémon Go & Pokémon Masters.
On 3DS I’m currently having a bit of a Pokémon Picross obsession & when I feel like fighting some things I’ll jump into Super Princess Peach. Eee it’s just so colourful & fun! I do love it.
Im about ten or so hours into Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The story is engaging and the world is fun to explore, but man, the combat system is way overcomplicated. I just turned the difficulty down so I can simply enjoy the story beats and get through the game without having to perfect the insanely intricate battle mechanics. I’ve also begun to pick away at Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. It feels very much like the old games, difficulty and all. It’s definitely worthy of being called the fourth entry in the series.
Pure Pool and 3D World...need to go back and get some stars I've missed before pressing on.
I haven't had time to play games in about two weeks, so I'm looking forward to relaxing and making very little progress in Death Squared (or its way cooler name in Japanese, "ロロロロ") after I realize I'm not smart enough for it.
@wazlon me neither! I thought "why was there no sequel" once... and it turns out there was! there was a gamecube game too, who knew.
Looking forward to finishing Astro Boy, it's awesome
Pokémon Blue Version (Game Boy) - Making my way down Cycling Road towards Fuchsia City.
Angry Birds Stella (Windows Phone) - Still working on completing each and every last level.
Gerbil Physics (Windows Phone) - Continuing along with this as well.
Age of Calamity, Final Fantasy VII, NBA 2K21, Tetris 99, Lost Vikings from Blizzard Arcade Collection.
Still playing borderlands 2
My games are Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memories, and Super Mario Maker 2! Alot of variety this weekend!
Monster Hunter: Rise is gonna be the default for a LONG time to come, but I’ll TRY to tear myself away here and there to keep up with my farm in SoS too but it won’t be easy. I love every single thing about MHR and I easily put in like 12 hours yesterday and could have played more. Darn kids & responsibilities!😉😂
Bravely default 2 and Hades...
On the Switch I’m making my way through Super Mario 3D World. A great game and I can’t wait to try Bowser’s Fury.
On the Wii U I’ve started playing Pushmo World which is great. I forgot how much I enjoyed that game. I’m also making my way through Deus Ex and I can’t believe how immersive the world they created feels.
Recently got Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe (a European version actually), Tumblestone, and Nyakuza Metro DLC for A Hat in Time for my birthday, so definitely gonna check those out.
I played the CrisTales demo yesterday, and today I'm back to modded terraria! I'm now dying on the inside knowing I can't play CrisTales further until July.
Finally got to do a deep dive into my 2nd playthrough of Minish Cap last night( my wii u is hooked up in the basement where I don't always get time to game at). Managed to beat the first temple, and saved shortly after. Such a fun little game.
Also still trekking through Majoras Mask 3d, and onto the ikana area.
Lastly, playing through shantae riskys revenge still.
@HollowSpectre I once thought that I finished Witcher 3...have you done the DLC as well?
MH Rise and Plants vs Zombies on switch for me 😊
I've been playing 3D world with my youngest. He's 100% on bowsers fury so now wants to collect everything in 3D world.
And just started playing it Takes two with my wife. Very impressed so far, really creative and so much fun. Great game for the price.
Final Fantast 14 and will be starting Story of seasons either later today or tomorrow.
@charlieonholiday Currently working my way through blood and wine. Have absolutely loved the game but if I don't finish now I can't see myself continuing.
Most likely just ACNH and Tetris 99 this weekend. Maybe some Splatoon 2.
Xenoblade Chronicles DE has its hooks deep in me, so I’ll be hanging with Shulk and Reyn all weekend. Cheers!
Stardew Valley (Series X). I am so hooked on this game right now. Midway through my second year now.
CoD: Black Ops Cold War (Series X) Its a double XP weekend all around so I will be playing this off and on through out the weekend.
Still doing my 100% completion playthrough for Ys VIII! Currently on chapter 3 for that one! I also decided to push myself and hop into FF XII again after being lazy with it for about a month. I'm not sure what happened but for some reason I found myself enjoying it much more than ever. I have literally no idea why. 😅
Oh I also beat the castlevania adventure from the anniversary collection! I know that one isn't exactly the best received but I actually still enjoyed it! Can't wait to get into Belmont's revenge!
Finally finished Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It was my first Fire Emblem game and I'm not an RTS fan as I am a traditional JRPG fan... but the game is good!
I'm trying to get into Astral Chain next, but despite all the praise... it hasn't grabbed me so far. I might move on to something else, not sure yet!
I've barely touched Ring Fit in the last two weeks, so I really need to get back to that. Beyond that, I picked up Majoras Mask 3D yesterday, and I'm looking forward to playing that for the first time.
For the first time in a long time I have no idea. Maybe more PGA 2K as I picked it up when it was 50%.
My gaming weekend will be; MH:R, SM35 and AC:NH
@HollowSpectre I did the main game of Witcher 3 in the autumn - and really one of the best games I have ever played.
Now on Xenoblade 2 but I plan to crack with the DLC to Witcher this summer.
@charlieonholiday It really is! Never touched a xenoblade myself but only heard good things! Have fun!
Now that I finished Trials of Mana last week, I'm planning to dive into Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town this weekend. I've had a lot of fun with my first few hours of the game! I'll also keep playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 when I'm in the mood for a more exciting game
Been working all day long. I'll probably raid a couple of Bokoblin and Lizalfos camps tomorrow morning. After that, back to work.
Animal crossing! After playing less and less of the game, a new terraforming project really brought me back into it. It is such a chill experience.
Mario 3D, Rocket League, Travel Mosaics.
Happy gaming everyone!
@thesilverbrick that game has been on my wish list for so long! But i have hesitated because of exactly what you said: the combat system. My question: does lowering the difficulty make the combat system different? Or does it mean I don't have to worry about making too many mistakes because I will usually win? How much of the game is combat? How much is story and exploration? (Sorry for all the questions)
I'm not the biggest Monster Hunter guy out there but I was feeling up for trying the new one once again and luckily I do have the benefit of having a friend who is willing to play it with me and so far I'm really enjoying this one, the new movement options and quality of life stuff makes this one a much better entry than the ones I've played before, looks pretty sharp for a Switch game too. I've been using my old faithful, the Lance but I've also been trying to experiment a bit and trying to also use a Bow on the side as well. Just beat Khezu (with some difficulty) before realising that midnight had really crept up on us so had to call it quits for today.
The new Binding of Isaac expansion is also releasing within a few days and that's definitely one of my most hyped things for this entire year.
Sadly it does mean that Chrono Cross is taking a bit of a backseat for now, I've really been enjoying that one quite a bit, I was expecting to finish it before Monster Hunter & Isaac released but I had to deal with a massive workload this past week so I could barely get any play time in, luckily at least I got to a point where the game entered a sort of a midway point I think so I feel like I can fairly comfortambly return to it later without being totally confused.
I finally beat Blue Fire last night, that game is a ton of fun but is so buggy I can't recommend it. Went back to complete all the void challenges and despite having completed all but one, my journal and save file won't register a couple of them, so I gave up. Super frustrating....
Other than that, gonna play some Rayman Legends and start Earthbound again
Well I finally finished Atelier Lydie and Suelle early on this week, which has allowed me to go back to Dragon Quest 11S. Absolutely stellar game, it’s like a comfy pair of slippers.
Also having some fun with Jump Force. Although the fighting mechanics don’t rock my world, it’s fun enough to try and follow the batcrap crazy story and have some mindless flashy enjoyment.
I ALMOST picked up Balan from EB games yesterday, but balked at the $90 AUD price tag and got Kingdoms of Amalur instead. Keen to get stuck in as it sounds really good and I missed it first time around.
Also squeezed in some Splatoon 2! I haven't played it in 2 years (had a big update to download) yet the muscle memory was still there, I can see myself bingeing on this a lot more...
Kiddos and I were out enjoying some nice spring weather today, but I played a little MonHun Rise after brekkie, and will wander around Kamura Village some more tonight.
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, Picross S3, and some Black Ops Cold War multiplayer since it's double XP weekend. Still trying to help my partner unlock Africa by Toto on the Battle Pass!
@dugan I’m finding the latter to be the case. The combat system doesn’t change with the difficulty, but since battles are easier, not knowing the intricacies of how to battle effectively doesn’t seem to matter as much. I’m only a dozen hours in, but there seems to be a good balance. The game is pretty good about guiding you where to go next, so I haven’t gotten lost yet, but the environments definitely welcome free form exploration, plus the side quests are fun an plentiful. I would definitely give it a shot if you’re curious and have the time for a huge game.
