I think the DLCs were fine, especially Crown Tundra, and I prefer it over having to buy the game a 2nd time. That said, I really hate the fact that you have to buy the expansion pass for both versions. There is no reason to make it like that especially since the only difference between the two are Avery and Klara ...
Lots of people complaining about the lack of use but imo this is the best way to use them. Giving you a few extra items which you can also get via normally playing. The worst kind of use for Amiibos are the ones that work as DLC or lock features behind them like the Shadow Link in Link's Awakening or hard mode in Samus Returns. I don't know why people keep asking for stuff like this.
I just don't understand why anyone would still be hesitant to bring their games to the Switch. I could understand why anyone would be hesitant at launch because of the whole WiiU debacle but now? Stories like these pop up all the time showing that 3rd party and indie games not only sell well on the system but often times even more so than on other platforms. Anyway, I'll definitely get the game on Switch because it scratches my itch for a Muramasa game.
Just a Switch + PC for now. I can play all Xbox games on my PC so no need for an Xbox. PS5 games will cost 80 € which is a huge turn off for someone who doesn't buy his games heavily discounted. I also think Ps+ offers the worst value out of the online subscriptions (assuming you are in a NSO family membership as you should be). If I didn't have a PC though, I'd probably get an Xbox Series X making it my first Xbox console. Microsoft is on the roll recently and GamePass is the ultimate value package.
I'm a bit over 10 hours into the game and am having a blast. It's definitely one of my favourite first party offerings on the Switch. Like many I am a big fan of TTYD but TOK is just as good imo.
The ACNH sales numbers are impressive for such a short amount of time. Also obligatory comment about the disappointment of MK8 selling so much since it means we won't get a sequel for a while.
I still have my ambassador 3DS. Contrary to most comments here, I'm glad it's retired. Even at launch it felt outdated in terms of power and controls. Once I played the Vita it made it especially hard to go back the circle pad after playing handheld games with a proper analog stick. Still, I liked the 2 screen design which I already liked on the DS and the 3D effect was actually really good.
I'm mostly playing Pokemon Sword and I will check out the Halloween event in Animal Crossing NH. I also bought A Short Hike so I will dive into that aswell.
Already have it on WiiU with all the DLCs. I may get it in the future for Switch but I'm good for now as there are not enough changes for me to double dip immediately. Also, bingo battle should have an online mode ...
I'm always amazed at how small the Switch is. Like seriously, detach the JoyCons and you have a small tablet/big phone. It's incredible that such a small device plays all these console games.
Will definitely get this on Switch when it releases. Hades and Griftlands were games I wanted to buy in early access on PC because I like the developers but both of them went to Epic for their early access which I do not support.
Not sure why anyone would object to this if the options are either not having it at all and or having a cloud version. You can always opt to buy it on a different platform aswell
The first one wasn't that great imo and the Switch port was atrocious at launch (not sure if it is any better by now). I'm not that excited about this announcment.
Seems about right from what I've played so far. Dynamax adventures are a lot of fun due to RNG and rewards. Having proper matchmaking is way better than having to join via the Y-Comm aswell. The wild area is fantastic and the new Pokemon are all pretty cool.
I don't like the writing though as Peony is flatout creepy. I also think they dropped the ball with the galarian star tournament by not having fixed levels. This just means we will stomp with high level Pokemon once again thus there is no challenge whatsoever
20 Pokemon in the early build? Seems like dexit was originally going to be a lote more severe. Thankfully gamers pushed back after the E3 announcment and they had a change of heart
I hate these delays for Switch versions of 3rd party games. The conspiracy portion of my brain always assumes that they do this to get people to double dip on their games.
I may hold out for the Switch version of this though as I'm a huge fan of the original and playing this in handheld mode is probably a lot of fun.
@mariomaster96 It will work like the previous legendary event raids (Mewtwo, Zeraora) e.g. they escape after being defeated and you get a bunch of items. And yes, these legendary Pokemon were able to be shiny even if you could not catch them.
@valcoholic Yeah, was gonna comment this aswell. Just because the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game is getting a lot of buzz doesn't mean it is the first of its kind. There have been plenty of them for years now.
@Yanina I'm really happy that it is. I've been binge playing it every day for a week now. Roguelikes usually aren't super mainstream but I think Hades goes well beyond your average roguelike game by focusing on a strong narrative, it's fully voiced with very good VA and it is offering a very beginner friendly learning curve. It took me less than 10 hours to beat it the first time while I still haven't beaten Enter the Gungeon or Dead Cells once after 15hours+ which is quite frustrating. And there's the "God Mode" aswell if you are really struggling with the game.
Interesting to see Ori 2 higher than Hades because whenever I checked the charts on the eshop (EU) Hades was higher than Ori 2. Anyway, September was definitely a good gaming month for me.
While I don't think the eshop is perfect by any means, I don't think it's entirely Nintendo's fault. I really love indie games but it is no secret that the indie scene is flooded with games of questionable quality and many of them blend together. I can't be the only one who rolls his eyes when he sees yet another indie game going for the good old pixel artstyle like thousand others already did. It's no surprise that these games see an increase in sales during sales.
I've given up on playing Smash online because the experience is horrible. I'm using wired but being on wireless itself isn't a problem. You cannot force people to buy a LAN adapter but you can improve the matchmaking. Give us the option to only match people from specific regions (Europe, USA, Japan, etc.) and show the connection to your opponents beforehand so you can choose to decline the match beforehand if the connection is bad.
I'm currently trying to get past the 3rd boss in Hades. I'm also playing Among Us with friends on PC.
Edit: Finally got past the 3rd boss and managed to beat the game from there on. What a great game. Time to escape with a different weapon!
I manage to consistently get to 5- 7 th place but my severe lack of platforming skills always results in me falling to my death. Still a fun game though.
Someone who wasn't even able to come up with his own assetts and characters accuses Nintendo of running out of ideas? Some people really need a reality check.
I'm happy with almost any addition but Steve was one of the very few I did not want to see included. Oh well, so far I'm happy with not having purchased fighter pass 2.
@Kid_Sickarus I'm saying it is one person doing it on their own device with a PAID copy of the game without distributing it to others. That is a big difference.
