@Kid_Sickarus That article also raised the question wether Rockstar Games will interfere with it as it is their property. There's also a difference between offering these games "for free" and porting your PC copy of GTA to the Switch. If the latter not only ported his copy but made the Switch port available for free, it would be an issue.

I don't care if some people try to make up excuses for piracy like "it's to preserve old games" and "a few pirated games don't do any harm". It's theft plain and simple. You want to get paid for the work you do and so do the developers of these games.

While I also think it's questionable to remove it, I don't agree with going after the company with pitchforks. At the end of the day the responsibility lies within the consumer. If you need a textbox in a video game to tell you not to wander the street during a pandemic, I don't even know what to say anymore. This year has shown how freaking irresponsible people are in general.

Really excited for the DLC and I'm glad it launches so soon. Seems like the postgame will be expanded quite a bit.

That was the first Mario game I played. I have quite the fond memories of it

I never touched it. I'm not fond of mobile games and this one features all the elements about mobile gaming that I dislike. A shame really as I love Mario Kart. At least there's still Mario Kart 8 to play on the go though.

I've played this one on PC and I'm still not quite sure what to make of it. The gameplay is very shallow and the best thing about this game is spectating your dinosaurs. Since the visuals are the best thing about this game, I'm not sure if a Switch port is really needed.

Lots of people making fun of Amazon's cloud gaming but Amazon owns Twitch so there is definitely some potential there.

Nintendo has some catching up to do though it's not like Sony is any better. I remember buying the season pass for Muramasa Rebirth in the German PSN store but my copy was US imported and thus those two weren't compatible. Sony refused to give me a refund.

The best version of refund policy is currently provided by Steam which I've used multiple times without any issues. Though people need to remember that this wasn't always the case. Refunds on Steam are still relatively newish.

No issues here as long as it is stable 30 fps.

Black and White aka the games that got shunned by the fanbase upon release all while having the best music and story in the franchise with lots of side and post game content. But all of that didn't matter because they couldn't catch their favourite Pokemon, all the new Pokemon designs were bad and GameFreak somehow forced them to use Garbodor in their party.
And then people complain about the lack of quality past the DS era. Kind of funny really.

@BeautyandtheBeer Yeah, I was genuinely surprised that this good a fair review for a change. These types of games usually get negative reviews on this site by default.

Cons: "Heavy sexualisation won't be for everyone". That's such an odd con. You won't put "Platforming might not be for everyone" as a con for Mario games.

I'm in a family membership with friends so it's less than 10 bucks a year for me which is basically nothing. I think that the online experience compared to previous systems hasn't improved at all even though they charge for it now which is very questionable. However, the perks for having a NSO are worth it for me. Tetris 99 is one of my most played games on the Switch, I saved a lot of money via the voucher system and the SNES games offered are worth it alone for me. Could it be better? Sure, but when I compare it to PS+ which I was subscribed to previously, I'll take NSO over it any day.

I can understand that some people expect more features out of the collection. I'm fine with what we get though. Sunshine and Galaxy look lovely in HD, I'd even go so far and claim Galaxy in HD looks better than Odyssey which is crazy. Mario 64 looks also a lot better and you have to keep in mind it's an early 3D game from the 64. You'd need a full on remake to make it not look bad.

Anyway, I cannot wait to (re)play 3 of the best games in the history of gaming.

Isla of Armour's Wild Area was already a step up compared to the base game but this seems to be even better. Can't wait to play it

6 out of 18, I don't pay attention to the level/world names and haven't played Galaxy 1 and 2. Tough I got most of the SM64 and Sunshine ones right

People need to cut Ubisoft some slack already. It's a big company thus things can easily go under the radar. They apologized and attempt to do better, let them at least attempt to do so before completely demonizing them. For me personally, Ubisoft has always been one of the more progressive triple A studios with no oversexualised playable female characters and including all types of humans in their games. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I played Mario Maker on WiiU but I spend a lot more time playing Mario Maker 2 which for me is just better in every possible way. These 2 games have shown me that creating a good platforming level is not as easy as I thought it would be and made me appreciate the mainline games even more.

Just goes to show how unnecessary it was to force motion controls in the first place.

Count me in. HW was one of my favourite WiiU games, this will be awesome.

Last year was pretty strong for the Switch but my personal highlight was definitely Astral Chain.

Would be cool and hopefully open the way for a PoP Warrior Within remake which is my favourite PoP game.

This is such a weird decision to make this available for a limited time only. Either way, I'll get a digital copy for myself.

3D World is my favourite 3D Mario game, I'm definitely going to double dip on that one.

Astral Chain is one of my favourite Switch games. I really hope PG manages to turn it into a trilogy like they intended to.

I definitely have to replay LN1 this halloween. It's such a gem, let them take their time with the sequel. I'm sure it will be worth it.

Fully agreed, I'd much rather get a Theatrythm game.

35 bucks, geez. I bought it on sale for 2 bucks on the eshop. Hard to justify going physical these days imo.

Anyway, for those wondering if the game is any good: it's really good. The fact that Nintendo decided to hire the devs to do a crossover with the Zelda license should tell you enough about the quality of this game.

I actually played and beat 9 for the first time just recently and it's easily the best game in the franchise imo. I envy people who played this as a kid growing up.

@Octane I got one for each of my copies of Sword and Shield.
Both have the ability Download and max EVs in HP and Defense.
Both share these IVs: HP best, Attack no good, Defense Very Good, SpDef pretty good, Speed no good.
The P2 from Sword had Decent SpAttack, the one from Shield had Pretty Good SpAttack. So it might be that the SpAttack is the only stat that is random.

Great game though a bit hard to recommend for that price as the campaign is like 1 hour long. Still a game worth playing through

The option to wondertrade multiple Pokemon at once is much appreciated. I stopped wondertrading because it was such a tedious process of clicking every Pokemon one at a time.

The only surprising thing about that list is the fact that TTYD got an 8 from NL.

What is the difference between this version and the mobile version? The mobile version costs 1 buck and has a ton of microtransactions. The Switch version costs like 18 bucks. What's the difference here? Do you get the full package without any microtransactions? I'm always willing to give Pokemon-esque games a go and I think this one looks pretty decent actually. I just want to make sure this isn't just a higher priced mobile port with tons of microtransactions.

I'm currently playing FF12 TZA for the first time and enjoying the game quite a bit. The job and gambit system is a lot of fun to play around with. I've played a lot of FF14 and it's interesting too see many elements that appear in FF14 to have carried over from FF12.

@AnnieK Except playing in coop halfs the exp your team gets as you can only send out one Pokemon at a time compared to playing solo. The game actively discourages you from playing with others which a MMO shouldn't do ...

7/12. I'm not too familiar with Luigi

I've played a bit on PC and ... it's not that great. It's very grindy. It's advertised as an MMO but it really isn't one, well apart from the grindy part anyway. Seeing other players is not enough to qualify as a MMO. Might aswell call Sword and Shield a MMO at that point, that one at least has raids which can be done in a group.

@TG16_IS_BAE You claim anything with a Pokemon label sells. To disprove this claim, it is enough to show one game with the Pokemon label on it that didn't sell well. That's not cherry picking, that's how Q.E.D. works. Or maybe you actually don't think people will buy anything with a Pokemon label on it and were just overexaggerating in order to push your viewpoint

@TG16_IS_BAE That's what people keep claiming, yet there is no proof for that. By that logic, all the spinoffs would be best-sellers aswell but a quick glance at games like Pokken Tournament, Pokemon Rumble, etc. will show you that a Pokemon label is not enough for people to go out and buy a game. Also, the lack of quality in Sword and Shield is pretty much in line with the rest of the mainline games

That's nice to hear. It also once again shows that the people complaining on the internet are just a vocial minority as always. The majority of people are just playing and enjoying games instead of endlessly complaining.
