We're now into April and despite the internet's best attempt to fool us, the best the pranksters did was to provoke a wry grin. In other news, Balan Wonderworld became the biggest bot bait of the year (so far), the Castlevania game so bad that Konami couldn't bring themselves to call it Castlevania was announced for a standalone Arcade Archives release, and prolific plumber, and princess-rescuer Dr. Mario Mario was finally laid to rest.
Now, though, it's time to discuss our (long) weekend gaming plans. Members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

This weekend I'm looking forward to sinking my teeth into Monster Hunter Rise. Since it arrived on the scene last week, it's become a nightly ritual for me to go out hunting, so I intend on continuing that over the next few days. I've not been the biggest fan of the series in the past, but this latest entry is really growing on me.
Apart from this, I'll be booting up Among Us to try out the new Airship map. I have played a handful of games already with some friends and it's been great fun so far. I'm looking forward to finally getting a go as the Imposter, assuming the servers hold up. That's all for me - enjoy your weekend, everyone!

For this extended holiday weekend I plan to be suitably lazy and do plenty of gaming. On the Switch this’ll primarily be Monster Hunter Rise, predictably; I’m still relatively early in the story so will have some extended hunts, and may delve into multiplayer too. I also grabbed Huntdown and XCOM 2 Collection on sale, so they'll get playtime.
My other current platform of choice is Xbox Series X, so I’m wrapping up a Gears 5 run before switching to Prey. Also definitely planning to try out Narita Boy on Game Pass, it looks (and sounds) fantastic.

I am finally playing a Nintendo Switch game FOR FUN and not for review: Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town! It's pretty perfect, as far as SoS games go, and it's restored my faith in XSEED. I get the feeling that they put their A team on this, because the art is lovely, the dialogue is fantastically varied, interesting, and organic, and — oh yeah — I actually bought the DLC for it. And by "the DLC" I mean that I paid two quid for the ability to dress up like a cow. I regret nothing. I'm cute as heck.
Haven't decided who I'll marry yet, though. The chibi art makes everyone look a bit like an 8-year-old, which is pretty off-putting. I do love Popuri, but she recently told me that she thought farming was boring, and that's MY WHOLE DEAL.

Hey folks! Hope everyone's doing well. I'm looking forward to a nice Easter break, and I'll be spending quite a bit of it continuing my playthrough of Super Mario Sunshine. I've unlocked all of the levels and beaten Bowser and his dear son, so now I'm mopping up the remaining Shine Sprites. I forgot how ruddy difficult some of them are!
I'll likely stay on the Mario train and make a start on Super Mario Galaxy when I'm done with Sunshine, with maybe a sprinkling of Super Mario World on the side. I'm sure I'll move onto a different franchise eventually… maybe. Probably not, though. [I thought Mario was dead?! - Ed]

This weekend, I’m feeling a bit nostalgic — maybe because I’ll be getting together with friends and family for the holiday? Regardless, I’m hankering to whip out some of my older games and sink myself back into those memories over the weekend, possibly alongside my fellow gaming-inclined family members. It’s a bit of an oddball collection across a variety of systems — and I think it’s just because they’re some of my all-time favorite games that my brain is craving — but I can’t stop thinking about playing me some Pokémon Sapphire, Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Luigi’s Mansion, Metroid Prime, Super Mario Galaxy, Nintendo Land (I know, I warned you — this is a very weird list), Super Mario Odyssey, Link’s Awakening…
It’s bound to be a very random, nostalgic Easter weekend.

Hopefully I might get a chance to make progress in Paper Mario: The Origami King over the next few days/nights. The look of the game and the writing are pulling through the perfunctory-feeling combat, and I'm enjoying it.
I've still got a pile of GBC and GBA games which arrived recently but I haven't been able to play, too, including Ninja Five-O, Hamtaro Ham-Ham Games, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Frogger's Adventures: Temple of the Frog (hey, it's supposed to be good!). Fingers crossed I can check one or two of them out.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...

Doom Eternal now it’s been reduced to £25!
Unexpectedly I'm back to Axiom Verge. Never finished it when I got it as I get stuck at some 35%. This time I found a grapple and I'm ready to finish it eventually.
Just as I'm getting close to finishing Death Squared (...by myself, awwww), a friend of mine picked up the Sega Genesis Collection, so now we're going to race to finish all 50 games! Since I've already had it for a year or so, just to be fair I'll erase my save data and replay ALL of the Phantasy Star games again. Or maybe we'll just race to finish Shining in the Darkness, since I still own a physical copy but have never played it, and he loved that game as a kid.
Mostly playing through Smash Ultimate "World of Light." I'm playing it on Very Easy mode because it's loooong and tedious and I'm only doing it so I can unlock the ability to change the menu music!
Might start playing Wunderling too and possibly some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe online tonight. May collect some more stars and stamps in 3D World.
I've finally got round to finishing some games I started around 30 years ago in various forms, so I've finished the original Legend of Zelda and the Switch remake of Link's Awakening over the last couple of days.
Today I'm going to start Zelda 2 (another that I've played much of but never finished) and after some fun exchanges on Twitter yesterday I'm going to revisit my youth on a Spectrum emulator with Street Cred Football and Stallone Cobra amongst overs. Oh and some Sonic 2 on the Master System, I love how different it's versions were
Speed Limit on the Switch, for more speedrun attempts.
Final Fantasy VII on the Switch, continuing my first playthrough of it and hopefully beating my first ever Final Fantasy game.
Probably some NSMBUD with the kids.
Maybe some more Animal Crossing.
Gonna be playing No More Heroes 2 some more.
Just brought Miles Morales Ultimate Edition as well, gonna be spending my free moments searching for a PS5 in stock.
Some new stuff from Rebel Galaxy Outlaw and Deep Diving Adventures to Micetopia and Dog Duty (check out the latter if you fancy some arguable Cannon Fodder vibes for the current £0.89 on sale), but Xenoblade, Burnout and Portia remain top priorities as well. Good odds of more Namco x Capcom this weekend, too. More God Eater and Spirit of Justice, and even a few Luxor attempts here and there... although the last stage continues to hand my posterior to me.
Just finished Xenoblade Chronicles 2 an hour ago. What an amazing game! And I loved how they tied it into the first story.
Now starting Torna Country. I still need that Xenoblade fix. Plus I am hooked to those characters. I want to learn more about them.
Monster Hunter Rise, it's the only game anyone needs.
Hopefully going to crack into MH Rise proper and maybe try out some hub quests. OooooOOOoOOOo.
Otherwise I have got back into Cuphead and have decided to just carry on beating the bosses on Simple because Normal is just too ruddy hard for me. I may also give Lego City Undercover a purchase for £12.50 and give that a playthrough.
It's a long weekend and plenty of time for games
I just completed Mario's Super Picross, so what's left?
I'll be playing the amazing shmups
ESP ra.de psi
Darius Gaiden
G-Darius
GG Aleste 3
Progear
and a little bit of Mario 64.
Playing yakuza 0 (my 4th yakuza game so far) and I love it. Besides yakuza 0 probably some shiny breeding in pokemon shield. Also thinking about finally starting ratchet and clank with the new ps5 patch.
The one and only Monster Hunter Rise
Rise of course.
Just the same as last week: Animal Crossing New Horizons and Monster Hunter Rise
This weekend i played BEMANI PS2 games. 😀
1. Pop'n Music 8
2. Guitar Freaks & DrumMania Masterpiece Silver
3. Para Para Paradise
4. Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME Japan
I played Pop'n Music 8 with official Pop'n Music controller from KONAMI. I still only able play with 5 buttons (Only Green, Blue and Red buttons) as playing with 9 buttons (All buttons) was still too hard for me. 😫
I have reached 20% progress from Sugoroku de 8 Mode (unlocked some hidden songs).
I played DrumMania Masterpiece Silver with PS2 controller as i couldn't use Pop'n Music controller to play DrumMania. I have unlocked 1 hidden song as the game using Roulette to unlock the hidden songs by completing 16 puzzle pieces to reveal the hidden songs.
I played Para Para Paradise for around 30 minutes as i got sweating from dancing Para Para.
I revisited DDR EXTREME Japan for 30 minutes.
Guess what ?
I got Extra Stage after got AA from any song on Heavy difficulty then i got One More Extra Stage after i got AA again on any song i chose (forced in Heavy difficulty) and i finished Dance Dance Revolution by DDR ALL STARS as One More Extra Stage song (1 mistake = Instant Game Over) with AA grade and no mistakes at all. 😁
Later, i will play FINAL FANTASY IX Switch to continue my progress at Cleyra Trunk.
Still playing Immortals. 42 hours in now and have finally headed over to the mysterious Kings Peak. Really love the idea of switching up the mechanics and essentially making you unable to climb whatever you want. Means that I have to follow their set route for once and it lends a great deal to the feeling of cinematically scaling the mountain.
The only issues I have are that the signposting isn’t always fantastic and the completionist in me just wants to make a beeline for all of the map icons but I can’t seem to get to most of them!
Switch - Continuing my playthrough of Crash 4!
PS4 - Weekly GTA Online session with friends!
PC - Going to try the new Battletoads on Battletoad difficulty. Wish me luck!
Have a good weekend, everyone!
When there was mention of Outer Worlds DLC I read the NL review of the base game again and bought the physical copy. I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve played so far. Excellent game. Will be continuing with that.
I’ve finished Horace and think I’m at the last boss with Crysis remastered.
Monster hunter rise & bravely default 2 ❤️ ❤️. That rise is something else! Love it, own it, playing it.
Playing Trine 3 with my kids and monster hunter rise when they're gone to bed.
It's a BotW (my 3rd playthrough) and AC:NH weekend for me.
@MajorasLapdog I was going to try and 100% this but a couple of the vaults were ridiculous so I abandoned that as life is short and the games backlog long. Great game overall though, I think I took around 50 hours to finish the story. Might go back to it at some point when that DLC is on sale.
1. Continuing Resident Evil 5.
2. Monster Hunter Rise.
3. Kingdoms of Amalur.
Trials of mana and super mario 3d world 😀
@Chris77 yeah I’m going for 100%, it sure does get a bit tedious but I find playing for an hour or two at a time makes it way more enjoyable. Really love the vaults (I actually think it’s one of the things the game does better than BotW 😬) but I have come across a couple that I’ve loathed. There’s one where you have to shoot a bunch of moving targets in a set time while jumping on platforms that are rotating around the block they’re in. Had to stop and come back to that a couple of times out of frustration. I think I’ve had my fill with the base game but who knows, maybe one day I’ll come back for the dlc
After a lot of wavering back and forth because it got mixed reviews, I ended up buying Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town and have been playing it for a couple of days now. So far it's been a lot of fun, with everything I expect from an SOS game.
I will be playing some Ring Fir Adventure later on because fitness never ends. I'm up to World 32 but frequently go back to older levels to try and 100% them all, and spend a lot of time in Custom Mode for my yoga routine.
I had planned on getting into Monster Hunter Rise this week, but it just didn't click. Granted I have a lot going on, so I'll definitely give it another shot once things settle down. I just don't feel like learning such an intricate game right now.
I've been getting into the Metal Gear series again, as I hadn't played through any in many years and I'm tired of waiting for any Switch ports. At home I'm playing through Twin Snakes on my GameCube. I'm just about finished with it. I dug out my PS3 and the MGS legacy collection, so I'll start Sons of Liberty after I finish Twin Snakes.
Portably I'm playing Snake Eater 3D on my 3DS. I forgot how great the cutscenes look in 3D. This is my first time playing it on the small model New 3DS. It looks better than I remembered on the smaller screen.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
@Bydlak good luck! that's what I thought after beating one of the toughest boss battles and I'm still nowhere near lol. Moved on to hollowknight for some light relief 😌
After finally beating the level 7 desert battle on valkria chronicles at last, i'm
back enthused to go further. I haven't got hrs to waste getting stuck
I will most likely be sticking to Monster hunter rise. I have been completely addicted to it since launch
The new Monster Hunter has proven quite good, in fact it's the one I've been having the most fun with in the series by far. The added mobility that come with the kinect-bug thing and the more open level design make such a difference, I've also gotten a bit out of my comfort zone and decided to using a different weapon beyond just the lance, the weapon being the bow, it's been quite nice to be able to switch between such completely different playstyles. I do have the benefit of having a friend to play the game with though, I don't think I would be getting anywhere near as much into it if I had to play solo.
Also been playing the new Binding of Isaac expansion on Steam, having been a Switch player its taking some time to build up to the point where I can actually get to the added stuff from the DLC proper but it's been really exciting to play the game again from scratch nonetheless.
I'm having a vacation from work for the next week so I'm also really hoping I find the time to finish the Chrono Cross playthrough which I started a few weeks ago and sorta had to push to the wayside because I really wanted to play both of the games above.
Monster Hunter Rise! My third MH game and I'm enjoying it a lot, just going slow. Maining Charge Blade this time round as a new challenge as well.
This week I will be mostly playing
Ecco the Dolphin
New Horizons
Pokémon White
Age of Calamity
World 5 of Mario 3D World, I am going slow and enjoying each level. Maybe some Rocket League and definitely Need for Speed as I just unlocked the Ford GT. That game is fun.
And tonight I will listen to my favorite songwriter: K.K. Slider.
Happy gaming everyone!
I'm nearing the end of Chapter 5 of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, so most of my gaming during this weekend will be put towards finishing it. The combat is really fun, but I hate those divine beast segments.
Aside from that, again, playing Arcade 1ups whenever I can squeeze some time in. Most likely some Big Buck Hunter World.
Just beat Bravely default 2 last night. Thinking of replaying Yoshi's Island and/or maybe some Dead Space
@HamatoYoshi me too, bought it last night but it didn’t finish downloading ‘till this morning 😅 I’m really excited though.
Master Chief Collection, clearing up the final challenges before the beginning of Season 6 next week.
I’m like a broken record with these: Stardew Valley. I’m partway through tackling one of the challenges added in the latest update (the mining challenge). It’s hard!
@gb_nes_gamer can I ask your opinion of Crysis on Switch? It’s another game on my wish list and it’s on its lowest price yet on the SwitcheShop... but DOOM Eternal also got reduced to half price so I bought it 😅
@HexagonSun I knew monster hunter rise would be a hard game for me to get into because I didn't even like the demos (due to the complexity).
What did work was setting aside 3 hours to just go through single player and learn the ropes. The game actually does a great job of slowly introducing you to its mechanics and slowly boosting the difficulty. If I tried to play for 30 minutes and then move on, it wouldn't have clicked and I probably would've been frustrated. Now I can play in 30 minute spurts with no problem and I find the game very enjoyable.
Currently Playing:
Phantasy Star Online - Finally got the tails chao, now i'm going to do the next mission
Top Gear Rally - first time playing it. hopefully it's good?
Evil Genius 2 - gonna play as Maximilian and Red Ivan,
Ball Breakers
GBA HP and philosophers stone definitely a deep cut I can go along with... might need to get my parents to dig it out for me for the garden visit. Happy memories of sneaking about hog warts.
@ViewtifulJotun this is my first monster hunter and I've been playing charge blade too. First weapon that clicked for me.
Continuing my way in octopath traveller , 6 out o f 8 chapters 3 finished, the stories gets better in chapters 3 hope the best is to come, and minecraft dungeons with my 8 years old daughter , a game that I bought to play with her since she loves minecraft and we have a good time slaying mobs and picking up loots together.
I've been looking to get back into Ring Fit for a while, so with Easter coming up I thought this weekend would be the best time to try it again. I'm also hoping to play some New Horizons and if I get the time, I'd love to go back to Paper Mario: The Origami King. I got to the desert section, felt it was dragging and just put it down, so I'm hoping to push through that section and move on!
Same as every other weekend methinks - 3D World and Pure Pool. There's a Steam dude I play snooker with regularly on it who's in the top 10, best of 3, we've had some really good close matches.
Monster hunter rise........what else would anyone play?
I dropped everything else for Monster Hunter Rise! It's been too long since I've been so hooked with a game!
@AmplifyMJ it’s a good FPS. Something different.
Like the template others were following for a while, It has regenerating health and you can only carry two main guns, so you have to swap one for a different one. In addition to the 2 main guns you have inventory slots for duel handguns, a rocket launcher and various grenades / explosives. So you have a bit more of an arsenal to carry around.
You fight human soldiers and aliens. You have a tech suit which can cloak predator style, for a limited time and has a shied to reduce damage. You can only use one or the other. It has a good difficulty whereby you can’t rush in guns blazing. It isn’t too hard, but is enough to make engagements more interesting and rewarding.
If you need a better idea I refer you to the NL review. It received a good score. It has received a big performance patch since release. That’s when I started playing and it’s ran well throughout.
@gb_nes_gamer thanks very much for the reply, much appreciated.
Ekhm...You mean what monster do you hunting this weekend?
@charlieonholiday enjoy ! All 3 games are amazing all in my top 10 of life
The Messenger, since I never beat it I'm starting from the beginning. Lil bit of Doom 2016 and some Goldeneye that was released not too long ago to the public on pc. Beat agent and secret agent but my age is catching up to me cause I'm struggling on 00 agent.
I had more fun than anticipated with Hyrule Warriors. My son got it from his pocket money and we've been destroying everything left and right. Getting to grips with the combat system is more rewarding than I thought.
I'm playing Monster Hunter Rise. I use the word 'playing' in it's loosest definition. It's really well done, how monsters limp away from you etc. I'm nowhere near a pro yet (there's a lot to get my head around), but it's sure going to be fun getting there.
I’m playing Murder by the Numbers. I’m in Chapter 2 and really enjoying the picross puzzles and story. I’m also finishing Super Mario 3D World, then I’m looking forward to trying Bowser’s Fury. Finally, I’m playing Skylanders Swap Force on my Wii U with my daughter and having a blast.
While my daughter is getting hopelessly addicted to Animal Crossing on my Switch this weekend, I’m playing Fantasian and World of Demon’s on Apple Arcade! Can’t complain 😊
Monster Hunter Rise, everything was going good until the Rampage quest not a fan of those missions, but the gameplay it’s really fun
Wrapped up sunshine early in the week & now running my way through Super Mario 64. 30 stars deep and loving it
I started a new playthrough in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I went with the Blue Lions last time so picked the Golden Deer for my second run. Will probably try to catch more bugs & fish in Animal Crossing. I have new ones in April I need to get.
@Yakuboto maybe it’s just me but I really like how they linked the Xeno series together at the end of Xenoblade 2. Kind of thinking what they will do for Xenoblade 3.
Finally got KOS-MOS in XC2. Figured it would maks things a lot easier, but Im still getting killed almost instantly in some challenges
First and foremost, Happy Easter everyone (or Bunny Day, if you're a fan of Animal Crossing).
As for me, I started the weekend off, by playing The Pinball Arcade. Outside of that, I'm still wumpaing my way through Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, which I'm thoroughly enjoying.
I also picked up a physical copy of Hades, so I'm looking to start that this weekend as well. Oh and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, because as I already mentioned, Bunny Day.
Splatoon 2 and Animal Crossing New Horizons. Beat the Elite Four on my Pokemon Sun replay. Now I need to complete the Pokedex again. I'm glad I revisited it because it is a very chill Pokemon game.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Rise came out and single handedly ruined my day-night cycle I had to do a hard reset and do an all-nighter and went to bed on the next day 8pm.
Besides I've beat every quest and maxed out my perfect GS gear set.
Trying to stop thinking about the game now and take a break until April 9th when the new TWEWY will be out.
I've still yet to try Persona 5 Strikers which I had pre-ordered since the announcement, but never really launched the game after release.
Monster hunter rise. I thought i really liked world until i started playing tise and realised what world was missing, for me. Gone is the tedious task of collecting feathers and slobber to track your target and its just full on, to the point Monster hunting. I am finding it a tad easy with the bigger monsters than in previous versions of the game but its enjoyable none the less.
I'll probably play some Rocke League tournaments to rack up more tournament credits for when the season ends April 6, and credits are converted to All-Star Cup rewards.
Started playing Mario Galaxy this week. I played the first quarter of it on a friend's Wii back in the day, but it seems better this time around.
i just bought the persistence (after i have finished void *****) and i am having a blast with the game,
from the actual sale i will probably pick Wolfenstein II
@aresius Funny how NL site censors the game name "Void Bast.ards" XD
Still waiting to get some extra cash to grab MHR. So for now I'm playing through super star saga +bowsers minions, minish cap, and shantae riskys revenge.
Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. I have arrived at chapter 13, though I am not going to push forward with the story this weekend. Because I don't have as much time as I had with XC2 I've not done many side-quests but with the end nearing I want to get experience a bunch of them before the credits roll.
Also: New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. I can cram quick sessions of that game in during lunch and such and I want to finish it up so I can review it on my blog. Only two world left on that one!
@NintendoByNature
Finished Risky's Revenge last year and had a lot of fun with it.
It's not a long game at all (finished it in just under 7 hours spread out during 6 days) but it's a great and fun experience throughout.
@munstahunta Minecraft with your kids is the best stuff. You should try the Dragon Quest Builders games, too. My kids love them.
I’m Definitely putting in more time with Monster Hunter Rise. I’ll play Root Letter, Super Mario 3D World, Smash Bros Ultimate, and Animal Crossing.
Finished Age of Calamity. Fun, but I got really bored with it by the end.
Now playing FFVII, Bloodstaind: Ritual of the Night, Mario Tennis and PGA Tour 2K21.
I have spent the last 2 weeks building stages in Mario Maker 2 for my kids for easter tomorrow, where the end of the stage reveals where they can find a gift or candy. I hate making stages, I just want to play them. When I finish it today Im finally going to start Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and I cant wait.
Bravely Default 2 feels like a classic RPG made modern, and I'm loving it. Grinding is pretty fun so it makes the progression enjoyable, but some bosses stomp me even on Casual
@F_T_Wolf yea its good fun. I think I like pirates curse a little more but I'm having a good time. About 2.5 hours in and at the coffee run for the ghoulies section.
Mostly a Switch weekend when I get the chance to play; the usual family stuff and a birthday apply. Some Pokemon: Let's Go Eevee!, a little The Wonderful 101: Remastered (need to enter a couple of those codes and try out characters), and I may also try out the original Trials of Mana/SD3 via Collection of Mana.
As the weather is gorgeous this weekend, there will also be a little Pokemon Go outdoors. Some trail markers here are conveniently flagged as stops.
Have a great weekend! Happy gaming!
@TheLightSpirit
I too recently tried that walking/sunbathing game here on sunny days on this side of the Atlantic! It’s so nice to finally see the grays and browns of winter give way to spring’s green and flower patches and birdsong. It must be especially beautiful in Ireland! ☘️
I know my Switch misses me, though, so I play some Monster Hunter Rise and check in on Animal Crossing as time permits, usually after dinner.
Got me a rental alongside 2 purchases this time and thought I'd state this weekend's Switch games:
1. Story of Seasons
2. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
3. Lego Incredibles
@WoomyNNYes
but did not censor in the own review kkkk
Oh yeah, not really games I'm playing this weekend, but grabbing a bunch of titles from the Bethesda sale like Skyrim and DOOM Eternal.
Stardew Valley! I've finally gotten into the game, and I must say that I love it! Yes it did take 40 hours of not loving it 2 years ago, but now I'm hooked. Gonna be banking off that sweet, sweet corn!
I have been playing Hollow Knight recently. Beat it a little while ago, but came back for more stuff that I missed. I’m really into metroidvanias lately. Can’t wait for Silksong (if it ever comes)!
Well I just finished Half-Past Fate Romantic Distancing, I plan on playing Half-Past Fate, finish up the first season of 3 out of 10, and then check out The Innsmouth Case, this weekend.
Spyro Trilogy on Switch. I am stuck in getting one of the dragons in Spyro 1, so I moved on to Spyro 2. Also playing New Super Lucky’s Tale on Xbox One. And still trying to get PS5.
Series X - more Forza Horizon 4 and Yakuza Like a Dragon
PS5 - Tony Hawk, Crash 4 and Assassins Creed Valhalla
Switch - Mario 3D World. Not got round to the Bowsers Fury side yet might give it a bash this weekend.
Working on getting to world 👑 in 3D World, have all stamps (Except for the ones for clearing EVERY COURSE with EVERY CHARACTER and the ones on WORLD 👑), grinding through world star, have all Green stars, stamps, and top of goal poles in Worlds 1-Bowser and Mushroom. World Star and World Flower are going to be the end of me.
Finish up Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected. Going to play the Monster Hunter Rise demo. Never played the series before, it seems a little daunting. 😐
I work all day today and have plans for tomorrow with friends and family, but I am playing Monster Hunter Rise as much as I feasibly can. It's my first MH game and I'm loving every minute of it.
Was hoping to finish Crash 4 last weekend, but just didn't have time, so that's on the docket. I did make my way through Bomb Chicken this week, which was great. I picked up Lonely Mountain in the sale this week and have really been liking it as well.
Hoping to finally beat Final Fantasy 7 for the first time this weekend!
Outriders and Narita Boy
I have been having a Griptonite and Marvel DS renaissance over the past several weeks. I really love their games; especially WEB OF SHADOWS and (what in my mind is the best Iron Man game) IRON MAN 2. So I just bought and beat their CAPTAIN AMERICA game and am waiting on SHATTERED DIMENSIONS to arrive. Of it does not show up this weekend then I will most likely start SAINTS ROW IV which I just bought on sale last night. Have never played a SR game so, but I hear this one is hilarious with a lot of movie references.
Blasphemous and The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa for me this weekend.
WRC9, Monster Hunter, PVZ & newly downloaded Doom Eternal for me. It's great being a Switch owner!
I'm still working through my 100% completion playthrough of Ys VIII and I tell ya I'm enjoying every second of it! Every time I play it I end up losing track of time! I'm also doing FF XII still. I don't know how unpopular of an opinion this is but I think XII actually has my favorite gameplay out of the Final Fantasy games I've played so far.
I also really hope to finish up FF XII so I can justify buying Doom Eternal. Since it just went on sale it's super tempting!
My copy of MHR finally came in the mail and I will be playing it all week.
Well after today I have a three day weekend coming up so I will be getting some game time in.
Outriders (Series X) Only got an hour into this game the other night after a crash but I can see I will enjoy this game.
CoD: Black Ops Cold War (Series X) Will be playing this with a few friends this weekend since I will actually have a Sunday off.
Stardew Valley (Series X) My farm is coming along nicely just waiting for Winter to do some major remodels.
Currently wandering around the beautiful and terrifying Satori Marsh in Xenoblade Chronicles DE. I downloaded Streets of Rage 4 after it went on sale for $16, so I may dip into that, as well. Have a great weekend!
Still playing Talos Principle.
I'm down to the last few regular levels and hunting for more stars. -_-
Probably just ACNH until after Easter weekend. Hoping to get into the first Aetelier Ryza game (yay sale) really, really soon (it will be my first Aetelier game)!
Nothing baby. Because of all the sheet I have to do.
Shin Megami Tensei. Just got to Shinjuku Mall.
My 8/16 bit retro dive is still going strong. After getting somewhat stuck near the end of Earthbound I thought I'd try a game where I'll definitely get stuck and much earlier. So this Easter has been spent with Fire Emblem 3, also for the SNES. And Kirby's Adventure and Kirby's Dream Land 3 to actually relax with.
I just bought Retromania Wrestling, so I'll be playing that along with my new SHMUPS.
A little bit of Monster Hunter Rise but after getting bored I've gone back and started a new game of World on the Series S.
Its great having Monster Hunter on a handheld but 60FPS makes such a difference to the gameplay
Crash Bandicoot 4 (it's great, yet the N verted levels feels like an artificial method to enlarge the game) and Bioshock 2 (I expected nothing and I'm still dissapointed).
Gran Turismo
Still working on Hades.
I’m not going to play any games this weekend; instead I’m going to complain to my wife about Super Mario 3D All-Stars the whole time.
Playing a crap ton of Monster Hunter Rise.
Close to 100 hours now.
@AmplifyMJ I love Crysis on Switch, it’s amazing. Ignore all the reviews about technical aspects as it runs brilliantly.
I just bought 7th Dragon III: Code:VFD on sale on the 3ds eshop, and I am REALLY enjoying it (in spite of the dumb name).
The classes feels so distinctly different from each other, and the game feels, looks and sounds great. Just a nice and comfortable rpg with some unique features.
This weekend I am playing some Super Mario 64, Star Wars Squadrons and ACNH.. plus started Octopath Traveler on the Xbox series x. Poured 90 hours into the Switch version & happy to start it again and get some achievements this time around. Played a bit on xCloud and Remote Play, was a bit choppy on 2.4GHZ but will switch to 5GHZ to keep it smooth
@HexagonSun Man, I want to play Snake Eater 3d again sooo badly. The best version of the game, by far. Hopefully they'll release a MGS collection on the Switch soon, that includes Twin Snakes and Snake Eater 3D.
MH Rise and Kingdoms of Amalur
I'll keep on playing Ghost Recon Wildlands on PC and on Switch, maybe Fortnite, but surely Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Odyssey and DOOM ETERNAL.
Doom Eternal and Spec Ops The Line. I really wish I didn't spoil myself on the story of Spec Ops because I'm finding it's greatly hindering my enjoyment of it. But the catch 22 is that had I not read about the story, I never would have had the interest to play it in the first place...
@HamatoYoshi Is Crysis still crashing every time you die? That's the reason I deleted it and never played it again.
@Edu23XWiiU @AmplifyMJ I love Crysis on Switch. The graphics aren't great, but they get the job done, and I usually find that it's very stable. It's gotten a few patches to reduce crashes. One thing I really like about it is how fast it reloads your last checkpoint after you die.
I really love the open ended gameplay. You can be sneaky and do things quietly or go loud if you want. It's up to you.
I played it the other day and had no crashes, and I had died a lot too.
@Giygas_95 thanks man! I got the game as soon as it launched, and I like it a lot, the gameplay is really good, and its open world enviroment really helps the atmosphere of the game's "one-man-army" theme. I'll download it again, hopefully the motion controllers work better too!
I'm playing the original 1996 Tomb Raider, on PC!
I'm gonna be playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 mostly, because the game really "clicked" for me recently and I'm enjoying it a lot. I'll also play some Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town when I'm in the mood for something more chill. And if I have time, I'll jump into Immortals Fenyx Rising for a bit!
@Edu23XWiiU I thought the motion controls seemed pretty good when I tried the other day, but everyone's different. Doom Eternal on Switch is really the gold standard for gyro controls.
And sorry if it sounded like I was ignoring the fact that you said you already had it. Initially, I didn't look closely enough to realize that you and the other person asking about it were different people!
I'd also like an HD version of Snake Eater 3D. The addition of crouch walking made the game actually playable for me.
Same games as last weekend, Monster Hunter: Rise and Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
@Edu23XWiiU I totally agree that Snake Eater 3D is the best version of the game. I love being able to make my own camo with photos and crouch walk. It also uses the 3D effect really well.
As much as I would love to see a remaster of Twin Snakes, I'm kind of doubtful that it will ever happen. I would love to be proven wrong though. My dream collection for the Switch would have the two MSX games, Twin Snakes, Sons of Liberty, and Snake Eater. Of course, I would take any of the games at this point. Even as standalone eshop releases. Unfortunately, Konami seems content with leaving money on the table.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and MegaMan Zero/ZX Legacy Collection.
@Giygas_95 Yeah, Panic Button did an incredible job with the motion controllers in Doom Eternal, they're excellent, and the HD Rumble is used sooo well, man, you can feel the intensity in your hands hehehe. No worries bro, I didn't took it the wrong way. I like the graphics in Crysis too, but specially, the physics engine. You can wreck almost everything in grand fashion hahaha. Yeah, crouching in Snake Eater 3D made it a better game, alongside with the factor that you can move while you aim, and the 3D use in aiming was clever as well, For instance, when you aim your handgun in First Person Mode, it makes it look like Snake is closing one eye when aiming, but when you aim with the shotgun for instance, or you're using the knife in FPM, you can see the game on 3D. They really worked hard to make the game pop up on 3D.
@HexagonSun Yeah, making your own camo was a good feature, and the 3D use in the game is incredible. I only aim in FPM for it. And, yes, it's doubtful if we'll ever going to get a proper remaster of Twin Snakes, due to the involvement of Nintendo and Silicon Knights on its development, but we can still dream. I hope for a MGS collection to come out soon. I remember Konami saying more game collections were going to come due to their anniversary. They said that when they released the Contra and Castlevania collections.
@Edu23XWiiU Photo camo was so overpowered. I took a picture of a brown comforter and would often get 100% camo index. I miss 3D. Wish the effect could have survived past the 3DS.
I might have to try the HD rumble on Eternal since you mentioned it. I have the rumble on my Switch turned off to save battery.
Olive Town for me!
@Edu23XWiiU I’ve never had it crash on me once!
More Monster Hunter Rise for me. I'm surprised by how much it's taken me in given I really didn't get on that well with World. As I've said elsewhere, I think it's the fact you can ride around the map so quickly and that the monster locations are shown that take it over the edge for me. I was so close to beating Magnamalow last night, but he knocked me out on my final attempt during his blue icon phase. Will manage it later today I reckon.
Hopelessly addicted to Littlewood I absolutely LOVE this game, how people have only played 40 hours on it on HLTB is beyond me, I've played it for 10 hours straight the last couple of days and gotten nowhere and I LOVE that feeling <3
I bought Olive Town (still sealed) but I just know I am going to enjoy this little indie much more than that AA game, I can feel it... Oof
i fear i gonna neglect my Animal Crossing New Horizons ounce i have my Monster Hunter Rise.
Monster Hunter Rise. My first MH. It's so good, my GOTY thus far
A bit later but I am eorking through Monster Hunter Rise. Almost done all of single player.
As well as broke out my new copy of Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion to play. A board game, blasphemy I know. ;P
@Giygas_95 Hehehe Photo Camo was awesome! The 3D effect of this game was awesome. Maybe they'll do 3D again una future. Try it man, HD Rumble is fantastic in Doom Eternal.
@HamatoYoshi Believe me, it happened to me every time after one of the last updated the game had.
Whenever a new Monster Hunter releases, I end up dropping every other game for a good while. Rise is no exception! I'm dabbling between all of the Switch's play modes for fun this weekend, between docked mode, handheld, and even tabletop mode. Ever since I saw early marketing for Octopath Traveler being played in tabletop mode in such a cozy way, I've thought of tabletop mode as a cozy experience. Marketing works apparently!
Still making my way through Low Rank in the game, so I'm hoping I can catch up to everyone else and still be able to play online with people here without being a drag.
@Edu23XWiiU I believe you, guess some people are just lucky
Pikmin 3 Deluxe!
Been playing MHR. only game that l'm into right now besides Terraria. Been a while since l played a MH game from the very start.
Played a lot of Fighting EX Layer. A fantastic fighting game!
Also Part Time UFO
and Outrun
and Virtua Racing
Played Bravely Default 2. A couple of Indies (as is generally always the case) & a little bit of Smash.
Monster Hunter Rise
113 hours logged already.
This game is a masterpiece, and quite comfortably my new favorite game of all time.
Zelda who?
@HamatoYoshi and it keeps happening. Now, it doesn't crash when I die, but when I complete a level.
@Edu23XWiiU I’ve genuinely never had it crash, maybe delete it then reinstall it
@HamatoYoshi I have done that, you don't know how many times. Guess I just have bad luck
