@Lightsiyd Just in that it's an action/rpg. Diablo III is faster. Fantasy Life is less about burning down several mobs quickly and more of a chill experience. I suppose Snack World would've been a better comparison.
Day 1, no question. Loved the first game's blend of Final Fantasy XIV crafting with Diablo combat. And the sequel appears to be adding Animal Crossing levels of town building? It's a win-win-win in my book.
@karolinpoznan A new Professor Layton game was previously announced and will be a 2025 game.
Hi-Fi Rush confirmation. Confirmed release dates for other games we're aware of (Dragon Quest III 2DHD). Personally, an announcement of a western release for DQ X Offline would be a mic-down-moment.
The loss of the creator for a franchise I hold in higher regard than Final Fantasy. Rest in peace. Playing Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will be bittersweet.
@AlexanderDaniels DC still gets newer releases to this day. Independent publishers like Pixelheart, VGNYsoft, and Gamefairy are keeping the dream alive.
If those fine Canadians at VGP are carrying this then it'll probably be up on AmazonNA at some point. I have an order for Castle Shikigami 2 through there.
Considering how well these movies have done at the box office, Carrey's salary will probably double again. From $4 million in S1, to $8 million in S2, and probably north of $10 million for S3.
It's nice to see Sunsoft continue to fight the good fight in a tough industry where there are many new games released every day. Makes me want to fire up Batman for the NES just for nostalgia.
I've never been a fan of frames with exalted weapons, frame abilities that necessitate a stat-stick to qualify for good damage. I'm much more interested in the Inaros rework. Pocket sand Prime is one of the few frames that doesn't have a single good ability.
My physical collecting for the Switch has slowed down to the point where I'm not sure if physical preorders for Outer Wilds have opened yet or not? Hopefully not. Get another patch or two through beforehand.
One of the better selling Unity-built games that won't get a sequel built on that engine because of the recent stumbling and bumbling from Unity themselves.
I expect the current Switch to lean hard on ports and third party games (harder than in any previous year) until the NG Switch arrives in November. At the earliest.
Elden Ring, Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2 Remake (running natively) and Resident Evil 4 Remake, Guilty Gear Strive, Grand Theft Auto V, Street Fighter 6, Psychonauts 2, etc.
@JoeyTS @JokerCK I point to another example. Journey is considered one of the greatest indie games ever, yet it's a Sony property. A big company backing a game does not disqualify it from being indie.
@nessisonett A tool who has no say in what games land on the voting ballot. https://thegameawards.com/faq "Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley is not a member of the jury and does not vote on the nominees or winners. Similarly, The Game Awards Advisory Board has no involvement in the awards process and learns of the results at the same time as the general public."
@JoeyTS Just the same, I don't agree with you. Move along now.

Must've sold better than anticipated.
Re: Review: Blast Corps - An Absurd, Exhilarating, Explosive Gem From Rare's N64 Days
@OorWullie Scratch that. I confused Blast Corps with Body Harvest. My bad, lol.
Re: Review: Blast Corps - An Absurd, Exhilarating, Explosive Gem From Rare's N64 Days
From the GTA developers before they created GTA III.
It's no wonder why Blast Corps is legendary.
Re: Nintendo Direct February 2024: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer
Fantasy Life i, Unicorn Overlord, and Contra for me. Everything else was, "maybe I'll play it, maybe I won't?"

Re: Talking Point: If 'Switch 2' Isn't Coming Until 2025, What's Nintendo Got Up Its Sleeve This Year?
Ports, remasters, and support from third party publishers. We need at least another ten reskins of calculator and/or clock.
Re: Hands On: Strategy Fan? You Need To Keep An Eye On Vanillaware's Stunning 'Unicorn Overlord'
A top five most anticipated game of 2024 for me. Vanillaware-developed games are always hype.
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Couch Co-op Games
The absence of Very Very Valet is disappointing.
Re: Yoshitaka Murayama, Creator Of The Suikoden Franchise, Has Passed Away

Playing Akai Katana at the moment.
Re: Random: Capcom Survey Asks If Fans Want Sequels To Okami, Dino Crisis, More
Power Stone 3, if you will, Capcom.
That or a current-gen port for MvC 2, I mean let's be real.
Re: Geometry Survivor Brings Rogue-Lite Survival Auto-Shooter Action To Switch
A Geometry Wars-clone in the form of an ASS game (Automatic Survival Shooter)? Sign me up.

I assume FFXVI hasn't sold to S-E's expectations.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Fighting Games
I'm hearing some positive buzz for Pocket Bravery.
Re: Nintendo Download: 1st February (North America)
Very interested in the Jujutsu Kaisen game, but not $60-worth of interested. $20...then maybe.
Re: Sunsoft's 'Ufouria: The Saga 2' Gets A New Trailer And A Physical Switch Release

Can't wait for this NG Switch launch title.

Re: Nintendo Download: 11th January (North America)
Physical copy of Prince of Persia for me. The game gives me Shadow Complex vibes. Should be a good one.
Re: Poll: How Much Internal Storage Would Be Reasonable For 'Switch 2'?
256GB feels like the minimum if we're expecting 4k fidelity games on the NG Switch. Assume 50GB to 100GB per "big" game?
Re: Talking Point: What Will The 'Switch 2' Actually Be Called?
Swiitch...naturally.
Or perhaps Switch Deux: Switch Harder.
Re: Cult Of The Lamb Reveals New Update As Game Sells Over 3.5 Million Copies
One of the better selling Unity-built games that won't get a sequel built on that engine because of the recent stumbling and bumbling from Unity themselves.

It's going to be a long, difficult wait for Wilds.
Re: Soapbox: "Go Outside, Get Some Fresh Air" - Why Won't Outmoded Gamer Stereotypes Die?
Still viewed as a hobby primarily for children, but most people who have this opinion these days have played Wordle at some point.

Re: Activision Blizzard's Bobby Kotick Will Step Down Later This Month
We'll probably still hear "we had a record year in revenue but we're laying people off" from Activision Blizzard.
Re: Blasphemous 2 Is Getting A Stunning Physical Collector's Edition In 2024
The first of the four or five physical releases the game will probably receive.
Re: Talking Point: What Classic Sega Franchises Do You Want To See Rebooted?
The game that has been rumored to be in development for a while now, Skies of Arcadia Remastered.
Re: Demon Slayer -Kimetsu No Yaiba- Sweep The Board! Rolls The Dice April 2024
I'll pass on the board games. But what I will take is the sequel to CyberConnect2's Hinokami Chronicles.
Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For December 2023 And January 2024
I'm caught between Dragon Quest Monsters and World of Horror being my most anticipated release of December. Can't decide where to start.
Re: Anniversary: Zelda II And Castlevania II Both Turn 35 This Month
I enjoy Castlevania II more than Metroid. No cap.
Re: 'Atari 50' Is Getting More Games Via Free Updates, 12 Dropping Next Week
Pitfall and Frogger are solid additions.
Re: Digital Eclipse's Next 'Gold Master Series' Release Will Be Revealed Next Month
What would I like to see? How about the first Wasteland?

Minecraft is still technically an indie game, even though Microsoft bought the IP for billions years ago.
Re: Review: Irem Collection Volume 1 (Switch) - Three Great Games, But One Slim Package
There are five volumes in this collection. Feels like ININ are stretching the games thin. Mo collections, mo money.

Physical copy of Super Mario RPG for me.

I've made my contribution to Sony to help them "win" 2023. My PS5 Slim should be in my hands by the weekend.
Re: Video: Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince "Monster Showcase"
I'm hopeful this is more Treasures rather than Infinity Strash.
