@JoeyTS @JokerCK I point to another example. Journey is considered one of the greatest indie games ever, yet it's a Sony property. A big company backing a game does not disqualify it from being indie.
@nessisonett A tool who has no say in what games land on the voting ballot. https://thegameawards.com/faq "Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley is not a member of the jury and does not vote on the nominees or winners. Similarly, The Game Awards Advisory Board has no involvement in the awards process and learns of the results at the same time as the general public."
@JoeyTS Just the same, I don't agree with you. Move along now.
Hopefully we'll get an official announcement of the NG Switch from Nintendo early next year. Although backwards compatibility will make-or-break my interest in the platform.
It begins and ends with joy-con drift. I went through five pairs of joy-con in less than two years. Yet the Hori Split Pad Pro I bought in 2020...are still going. So yeah, joy-con, trash-tier product.
It's a shame Koei Tecmo doesn't do sports games anymore. Dynasty Warriors and Atelier are their bread and butter these days. Although Rise of Ronin is looking like it'll be their spin on Assassin's Creed.
I'm hoping Volume 2 of the MGS collection will have Peace Walker complete on cartridge. Best game in the series, imo. Monster Hunter-flavored Metal Gear.
Buying a copy on general principle in support of Yu Suzuki. Never been a huge fan of the Space Harrier, but I do enjoy rail shooters. Would like to see Rez Infinite on Switch...someday.
@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed Not too much lower. Nintendo are releasing an Animal Crossing-flavored Switch Lite next month in the hope to reach the 18m Switches sold in 2023 goal post for investors.
Nintendo will probably copy/paste the theme of the OG Switch announcement trailer. Millennials in a posh part of some downtown setting. Drinking wine at a rooftop party while playing a little "Tendo" on the side.
I'll answer with a "definite maybe". I would suffer the loss my Switch physical collection. But if I could play certain games portably, I don't feel I could say "no". I'm one of the dozens of people who loved their PSPgo.
I have each of these from when LRG released them individually. It's unfortunate the KotOR games are download-only, but they would've put the file size close to 40GB anyhow and nobody uses 64GB cartridges, not even Nintendo themselves.
@gcunit Nope, still no physical for either Limbo or Inside. 505 Games released a double pack for Xbox One and PS4, but did not obtain the rights for a Switch release. I assume developer Playdead weren't happy with the revenue split with that release and perhaps that's why they haven't inked a deal for a Switch double pack? Not sure.

Re: Is Dave The Diver An Indie Game? The Game Awards' Host Weighs In
Minecraft is still technically an indie game, even though Microsoft bought the IP for billions years ago.
Re: Review: Irem Collection Volume 1 (Switch) - Three Great Games, But One Slim Package
There are five volumes in this collection. Feels like ININ are stretching the games thin. Mo collections, mo money.
Re: Hori Unveils New Dragon Quest Slime-Themed Switch Controllers
If I didn't already own a backup pair of split pad pro I would have these. But...alas.
Re: Nintendo Download: 16th November (North America)
Physical copy of Super Mario RPG for me.
Re: Nintendo Launches Black Friday Switch eShop Sale, Up To 90% Off (Europe)
I've got $4 burning a hole in my Murican eShop wallet, ready to go.
Re: Japanese Charts: Strong PlayStation Sales Can't Knock Mario Wonder From The Top Spot
I've made my contribution to Sony to help them "win" 2023. My PS5 Slim should be in my hands by the weekend.
Re: Video: Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince "Monster Showcase"
I'm hopeful this is more Treasures rather than Infinity Strash.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Super Mario RPG
Having never played the original release, this will be a treat.
Re: Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster Updated On Switch, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@Ryu_Niiyama Fair enough. Still, it probably would be best if I avoided the frustration.
Re: Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster Updated On Switch, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@mlt Playable, sure. But to have a boss stop progression of the story if the fight goes too long? I'd qualify that as busted.
Re: Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster Updated On Switch, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
So basically the physical release is sort of busted?
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate That Nintendo Indie World Showcase?
Not bad. Outer Wilds physical release in 2024 was the tops for me.
Re: Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition Finally Blasts Onto Switch Next Month
Anna Purna-published. I assume iam8bit will do something fancy for the physical relase?
Re: Aliens: Fireteam Elite Is Coming To Switch, But It's A Cloud Version
@anoyonmus I haven't a clue.
Re: Nintendo Hardware And Software Teams Have Been Working "As One" Recently, Says Shinya Takahashi
@HeftyLaces Hush now. Furukawa already said in an investor Q&A that there would be "no new hardware" this fiscal year, which ends March 31st.
Re: Nintendo Hardware And Software Teams Have Been Working "As One" Recently, Says Shinya Takahashi
@Friendly About seven months from now. Maybe.
Re: Sanabi's Pixel-Art Cyberpunk Setting Looks Awesome, And It's Out Now
Just waiting for my physical copy to arrive from Red Art Games.
Re: Nintendo Download: 9th November (North America)
Kinda sorta interested in Super Crazy Rhythm Castle for the Castlevania music alone, but I'm not sure. I'm definitely in for Air Twister though.
Re: Level-5's New Fantasy Life Game For Switch Has Reportedly Been Delayed
One of my most anticipated games. Oh well, take the time to make it right.
Re: Embracer May Soon Be Closing 'Timesplitters' Studio Free Radical Design
You say "Embracer Group" and I immediately picture the swirling waters of my toilet. Round and round, down and down.
Re: Best 18+ Switch Games For Adults
"I could show you such wonders." -Pinhead Games like Bayonetta, Shin Megami Tensei V, and Hotline Miami should be on the list.
Re: Review: World Of Horror - One Of The Most Unique Roguelites On Switch
Just put in an order for a physical copy through Fangamer.
Re: The Darkside Detective: A Fumble In The Dark Scores A Switch Physical Release
A good way to start the last SRG bundle for the year. Most likely will re-up my Club membership.
Re: Digital Foundry Digs Into The Nvidia Chip Rumoured To Power 'Switch 2'
Hopefully we'll get an official announcement of the NG Switch from Nintendo early next year. Although backwards compatibility will make-or-break my interest in the platform.
Re: Best Ghostbusters Games On Nintendo Systems
Luigi's Mansion is the best Ghostbusters game.
Re: Nintendo Download: 26th October (North America)
Interested in Dave the Diver and Gungrave but...nothing for me this week.
Re: Talking Point: Along With Joy-Con Drift, What Does Nintendo Have To 'Fix' With 'Switch 2'?
It begins and ends with joy-con drift. I went through five pairs of joy-con in less than two years. Yet the Hori Split Pad Pro I bought in 2020...are still going. So yeah, joy-con, trash-tier product.

Re: Grab Some Spooky Savings In The Switch eShop Screaming Deals Sale (North America)
Shoutout to Carrion. So few games have you playing the villain these days.
Re: Feature: "JRPG Isn't Just One Blanket Kind Of Game" - Star Ocean: The Second Story Returns 25 Years Later
@AlanaHagues The USK-rated version doesn't have the download banner on the front box art but does mention downloads for multiple languages.
Re: Feature: "JRPG Isn't Just One Blanket Kind Of Game" - Star Ocean: The Second Story Returns 25 Years Later
@AlanaHagues Seems the physical release for this won't be worth owning. An image showing a mandatory download has appeared. https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/nintendo-switch/star_ocean_the_second_r#reply-18
Re: The King Of Fighters XIII Global Match Gets A New Trailer Ahead Of Launch
@gcunit No problem, my friend.

Just waiting for my physical copy from Pix'N Love.
Re: Review: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 - An Extensive But Imperfect Compilation Of Classics
@Ryu_Niiyama I know. I was just being facetious.
Re: Review: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 - An Extensive But Imperfect Compilation Of Classics
No Twin Snakes? Hard pass.
Re: PSA: Don't Forget The Meaty Downloads Required For Metal Gear Solid's Physical Edition
I'm hoping Volume 2 of the MGS collection will have Peace Walker complete on cartridge. Best game in the series, imo. Monster Hunter-flavored Metal Gear.

Re: Poll: What's Your Switch Controller Of Choice For Super Mario Bros. Wonder?
Hori Split Pad Pro, because unlike the joy-con they're well built.
Re: It Looks Like Robocop: Rogue City Has Been Quietly Cancelled On Switch
@Woderwick Indeed.

Re: Gothic's First Switch Update Includes A Bunch Of Quality-Of-Life Improvements
Kind of makes me glad I didn't FOMO-purchase a physical copy from the THQ Store. I've grown tired of publishers post-patching physical releases.

I'll answer with a "definite maybe". I would suffer the loss my Switch physical collection. But if I could play certain games portably, I don't feel I could say "no". I'm one of the dozens of people who loved their PSPgo.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Hopes For Animal Crossing LEGO?
If it isn't like Happy Tree Friends...I'm out.
Re: Gothic II Is Already Coming To Switch, Just Weeks After The First Game
I'm very tempted to bundle I & II together in an import order, but I think my money would be better spent elsewhere.
Re: Annapurna's Switch eShop Sale Sees Big Discounts On Sayonara Wild Hearts & More (North America)
I recommend Donut County. If anyone is in the mood for an inverse take on Katamari Damacy-like puzzle solving?
