@Olliemar28 There's something to be said about wanting to be part of the day-one zeitgeist and discussion for a new release. Even though my Switch collection is substantial, I felt the need to purchase an Xbox Series X to feel like being a part of early Starfield discussion.
Ouch, most unfortunate. Here I was looking forward to playing my LRG copy nine months from now when it ships. Well...here's hoping things are patched up a bit by then.
@LadyCharlie I wouldn't say it was Embracer Group's intention to shut studios down. The problem is that they were burning cash they didn't have to spend. They were dependent on getting a 2 billion cash influx from Saudi blood-money. But when Saudi pulled the funds the bottom fell out.
Still no Dragon's Crown yet we're getting this? I...will take it. Even though my backlog is crammed with tactical rpg games, I support Vanillaware when I can.
@marcelominucelli That's what worries me. Which means that it's fine...if you're playing offline. But if the portion of the game you're playing involves online connectivity (versus mode, towers of time, and the krypt, etc) then things fall apart.
Devolver Digital is one of my favorite indie publishers. I'll probably purchase a physical copy on general principle. Although I should get around to playing Doinksoft's Gato Roboto first.
From the developers of Balan Wonderworld comes...Sonic Superstars. Would I rather have a Sonic game from a questionable developer or what looks to be the best 2D Mario since World. Not...a tough...choice.
TennoCon was a bit of a soggy taco. It isn't clear what WF 1999 is going to be. Other than a nice callback to Digital Extreme's previous game, Dark Sector. It feels like yet another weekly Kahl-like mission, until DE say otherwise.
I've always maintained that RDR games are the Dollars trilogy in video game form. Arguably the best "wild west" experience of the early to late 1800s Murica.
I sort of checked out on the game after seeing that the physical release will have a mandatory download. I'll just...replay My Time at Portia...if I need a fix.
Not gonna lie, as a Jiraiya fan, every time I see his clone Koji Kashin I get a little misty-eye. Years ago some Youtuber did an AMV tribute to him using Blue Foundation's "This is Goodbye"; good stuff.

Re: Embracer Group: More "Tough Decisions" To Come As Crystal Dynamics Suffers Layoffs
It's like watching a 3D animated model of the sinking of the Titanic out here. Slow...painful.
Re: Review: MythForce - A Decent Roguelite Buried By An Absolutely Dire Switch Port
Ouch, most unfortunate. Here I was looking forward to playing my LRG copy nine months from now when it ships. Well...here's hoping things are patched up a bit by then.
Re: Kuro no Kiseki Coming West As 'Trails Through Daybreak', Out 2024 On Switch
We still need XSEED to wake up and deliver ToCS 1 & 2 in the west on Switch.
Re: Free-To-Play Battle Royale 'My Hero Ultra Rumble' Out Next Week On Switch
This release is not PLUS ULTRA in my eyes.

Re: Mythforce Developer Hit By Layoffs As Embracer Continues To Restructure
@Olliemar28 It'll be interesting to see who'll make a buy-offer for Gearbox Publishing. I doubt Embracer Group will recoup the 1.3 billion they spent.
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Will "Absolutely Be Getting An Update" On Switch, Says Ed Boon
It'll get an update...after the Switch 2 launches.
Re: Double Dragon Advance, Super & Collection Announced For Switch
Buying this for Super Double Dragon and Double Dragon Advance alone.
Re: Review: Mortal Kombat 1 - A Superb Fighter, But Severely Kompromised On Switch
Might be the best looking N64 game to date.
Wait a minute...

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Welcomes In The New Era With Launch Trailer
Still waiting for a video that says "captured on Switch hardware". I don't have a lot of faith in the Switch port for this game.
Re: Review: The Making Of Karateka - A Great Start For Digital Eclipse's Gold Master Series
I can appreciate the history of the game and the making-of documentary. But I'd rather play Kung Fu on NES honestly.
Re: Best Space And Sci-Fi Games On The Nintendo Switch
@UltimateOtaku91 She wrote a forum post back then saying her goodbyes. Besides, leaving NL doesn't remove her ability to collect freelance checks.
Re: Best Space And Sci-Fi Games On The Nintendo Switch
@Friendly Kate left NL back in February. I assume Damien or one of the other editors bumped the article.
Re: Best Space And Sci-Fi Games On The Nintendo Switch
Nice bump. Makes me wonder how Kate is doing?

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For September And October 2023
I have six of the games listed above on preorder. We're nearing the end of the Switch's lifecycle. My spending on the platform is slowing down.
Re: G.I. Joe Gets The Streets Of Rage Treatment In Brand New Arcade-Style Brawler
Ah yes, the toys and cartoon of my youth. But an experience developed by Maple Powered Games? Noooooo Joe!
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct - All Announcements, Features, Power-Ups, Worlds
The animation and art style pop. I'm not sure I've ever seen a better looking Mario game.
Re: Stunning RTS Adventure '13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim' Continues To Be A Sales Hit For Vanillaware
We still need Dragon's Crown Pro and other Vanillaware greats on Switch. Please, Atlus.
Re: Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition Announced For Switch
@Zach777 Exactly. I don't see how the physical release won't have a mandatory download. The file size is massive on other platforms.
Re: Taito Milestones 3 Revives More Retro Classics In 2024
Physical copies of TM1 recently reached $10 on AmazonNA.
Still not worth a purchase, lol.
Re: Beyond Good And Evil 20th Anniversary Edition Has Been Rated For Switch
Will happily play this Pokemon Snap + Zelda clone again.
Re: Poll: Mario & Sonic Face Off On Switch This October - Whose Corner Are You In?
@RobTheIII Hmm? Arzest developed Balan Wonderworld and now they're working on Sonic Superstars. No drugs were consumed. Just straight facts here.

Re: Nightdive Studios Brings 'Rise Of The Triad: Ludicrous Edition' To Switch This September
Just waiting for the inevitable physical release from LRG.
Re: Video: 9 Exciting New Games Coming To The Nintendo Switch In September 2023
Fae Farm will be the most overlooked game of September.

Re: Konami's Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Has Been Delayed
Take your time, Konami. Don't do this release dirty like you did with MGS.
Re: Devolver Is Shooting Weird West: Definitive Edition Over To Switch
@JimNorman The retail physical release appears to have been cancelled. At least in Murica, GameStop and Best Buy preorders are being cancelled.
Re: Review: Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy - A Series Best That Proves It Still Has The Magic
I probably should get around to playing the first four entries.

Re: Newgrounds Classic 'Alien Hominid' Returns In HD Remaster On Switch
Since Castle Crashers is getting a physical release next year, I assume an announcement for a physical release of Alien Hominid won't be far behind.
Re: Best Mech Games On Nintendo Switch
@AlanaHagues No love for Wolfstride?
Re: Nintendo Download: 24th August (North America)
Nothing this week. Physical copies of Sea of Stars, Shotgun King, and The Bridge Curse for me but at a later date.

Re: Video: We've Played Persona 5 Tactica - Is It Any Good?
Probably will catch a physical copy on deep discount. I still haven't played either of the Mario + Rabbids games yet.

Xeno Dating Sim confirmed.
Brighid is best girl.
Re: Metal Gear Solid 2 And 3 Will Have Lower Frame Rates On Switch, Konami Confirms
As long as the frame pacing is consistent the lower fps doesn't matter in a slow, methodical, stealth / action series like MGS.
Re: Naruto X Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections Launches November

Re: No Man's Sky 7th Anniversary Video Teases Upcoming Major Update

Loved this when it originally released. Will be there day-one for the physical release in October.
Re: Shoot Aliens And Save Earth In 'Die After Sunset', An Action Roguelite Dawning On Switch Today
Mildly tragic that the physical release is just a code-in-the-box.
