I haven't touched Stardew Valley since early 2018, though I've always intended to go back and enjoy the post game. It's probably a vastly different experience after all these updates.
@heisnbrg It's not perfect but the first five maps from Splatoon 1 will survive through the local multiplayer mode and more will exist as levels in single player where you fight the Octoling army.
Also in Splatoon 3 they made recon mode accessible outside the lobby, so when Switch loses it's online features all of the stages will survive, including ones remade from Splatoon 1 & 2.
@XenoShaun Yeah, between the lack of communication/stock and the price hike, it seems Nintendo are selling a small batch for a higher profit to the niche crowd who still collects them, and then possibly moving from Amiibo in the very near future.
I was just looking through Metacritic and there are several harsh reviews saying there aren't enough puzzles and that the game feels like a visual novel.
Here's the thing, Another Code: Two Memories had puzzles but was only 5 hours long. Whereas Another Code R: A Journey Into Lost Memories was around 25 hours long and it's box art stated "Read & solve like a mystery novel". So the bulk of the original experience of playing both games was reading...it's like the critics have forgotten that fact.
I have Shulk and somehow got the Pyra and Mythra ones, so hoping these will come back in stock one day soon. Kinda crazy that they aren't available anywhere today on their release day...
@Guile Recollection is a remaster of both games so they are quite different. You can tell from the demo with how things don't play out chronologically at the beginning and all the differences in puzzles and even Ashley's clothes.
I think it's more likely they'll make sure this remaster of Another Code R has no lose ends in it's conclusion, rather than make a 3rd game.
Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time Decapolice The Plucky Squire Planet of Lana
Also really hoping for a localisation of Mameda No Bakeru which is developed by Good-Feel, as I love the Goemon series and they've always made such high quality games.
I've been unable to connect to Mario Kart 7 online since early December I've had my account since 2011 though so it seems odd that it doesn't let me on. The game crashes in the character select screen and then get put back at the 3DS home menu where an error message displays.
@Ryu_Niiyama To me, they weren't concluding anything with their comment. They said "Sounds like", so they'd been given the impression that you're working for the wrong people, which is just their opinion and to imply it's inappropriate seems a bit over the top. No problem at all! I hope you enjoy your Christmas as best you can.
@Ryu_Niiyama You were sarcastically being cheerful about having to go to work over Christmas, which makes it seem like you really feel the opposite way. Their opinion seems fair based on that and how little other info you gave.
@crimsontadpoles I've played both of the original versions and the story revolves around her family and the mystery surrounding them, rather than herself. The puzzles on DS were extremely easy to begin with and just showcased the touchscreen more than anything, but once you get into the mansion and start properly exploring it the puzzle solving becomes a lot more like Resident Evil 1
Out of all the Pokémon games that concentrate most on storytelling, HG/SS, OR/AS, S/M and S/V+The Indigo Disk are the best ones. Though I also like the entries which put gameplay at the forefront too, like R/B/Y.
Part 2 of the DLC was fantastic. So much content and customization options for your trainer. The new locations/characters are amazing, as are all the references to Unova and the story ended with a wonderful final battle. This epilogue will be the icing on the cake.
@SirKif He is a ghost but the game is a Sci-Fi mystery overall, rather than a ghost story. He's the only instance of that kind of thing in either game. The game is too good to miss out on over such a small thing I think.
Why does the article prioritise the name Trace Memory when the series is called Another Code in Japan and Europe and was changed to Trace Memory for America?
I picked the European box art as the name is better, the art hasn't been zoomed in on and the background is more representative of the game.
@TheBigK I also got bad vibes from him over the years. For me it was kicking Greg off his channel in 2014 whilst pretending they were still friends, using his PO box to line the backgrounds of his videos with merch sent by his fans (and probably sold stuff he received several of) and when he lied about completing games without help. The truth is his team helps him get through some parts and with the writing of episodes.
I enjoyed both Doom and Doom II on switch but sometimes when returning to the game from the home menu they would crash. That was really annoying during some of the second game's longer missions.
It's funny how the first Nintendo decided to do a Direct instead of attending E3 everyone was saying "Nintendoomed!" Little did those people know, Nintendo Directs were the first nail in the coffin for E3.
Yeah, I've previously read about how they start with control/gameplay before story during development. Personally, I think that's why they make the best games. What you're saying would apply to Final Fantasy based on how you described that series, but with Zelda it doesn't add up, as there are several games with a clear thread connecting their plots. Elements of ALTTP were reimagined in OoT, but the latter has to be considered a prequel, seeing as it introduces the main villain of both games in Gerudo form, before he's ever obtained the Triforce and become Ganon.
Another example would be the adult branch of the timeline, where WW references events and characters of the previous game (OoT), PH is a direct sequel to WW with returning characters and the setting of ST is a result of the efforts of characters from WW and PH + Niko is a surviving character from those games. You can play each game on it's own and enjoy it, but witnessing past events through earlier games in the timeline enhances the storytelling experience, in the same way that, for example, watching the Jurassic Park trilogy would before seeing Jurassic World.
To say that believing the timeline exists is a waste of time doesn't make sense, as it's an official part of the series. There are countless people on the internet who have fun theorising about it and you're entitled to say it's laughable that they care that much, but it just means you have one less aspect of the series to enjoy.
@rushiosan Not really, as Miyamoto was considering the order of the games whilst developing Ocarina of time and ensuring there are no large continuity errors between games. Their opinion on the timeline back then is the same as now, where they take it into account to a degree when creating the games, but don't mind smaller inconsistencies. If it was creatively irrelevant, or they didn't believe it existed, they wouldn't pay any mind to it at all when developing the games.
@nukatha I cleared about 15 levels in The Human Resource Machine, but I don't have a mathematical mind so I didn't enjoy it. After watching the rest on Youtube, it seemed like the storyline was an afterthought compared to earlier games so I was glad to have not persevered with it. I'm sure it's great for people into programming though.
@rushiosan The Zelda timeline has officially existed since the release of the Hyrule Historia in 2011 and so there's nothing to believe, or not believe. The fact that the developers take it into consideration at all during development means it isn't a non-existent element of the franchise.
I just looked back through my comments on this site and on Oct 27th I accurately predicted the results of the Game Awards (except for thinking FF16 would be nominated for GOTY). No matter how successful Nintendo is, or how much they prove their worth for gamers of all kinds, nothing ever changes with how much the Game Awards under-represents them...
I still have this on Wii and it's fantastic, as was Human Resource Machine on Wii U. Tomorrow Corporation's programming puzzle games were not fun for me though, so I'm glad they've returned to their roots. I love that the graphics look near identical to the original. Didn't the planet turn digital at the end of the first game though?
@Grumblevolcano I know you mean for the Switch or Switch 2, but those games have already been remastered on Wii, 3DS and Wii U. Where as Pokemon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness have never been touched since their original release on Gamecube, sadly.
She was very good for most of her lines, though for some reason her best performance as Zelda was in Age of Calamity, where she got to give a larger range of emotions. She could play Zelda's mother since she's good looking enough for the role and then they could cast someone 17 years old to play Zelda.
Judah Lewis is my choice for Link in terms of looks and I think he's a fantastic actor too. Unfortunately, I believe either Tom Holland, or Timothée Chalamet will land the role instead :/
@dew12333 Yeah of course! The story across both games is amazing to me, as that's what Cing excelled at most. Admittedly the first few puzzles were just a showcase for the touch screen, but later ones were fantastic. Like having to halfway close the DS to see a reflection of one screen in the other to reveal the answer. Plus everyone remembers and applauds Nintendo for the Phantom Hourglass puzzle where you have to close your DS, but there's also a puzzle just like that in Another Code lol I'm excited to see both games remastered and hopefully even better than before.
Been reading the site since around 2011-2012 (I'm pretty sure) and it's the gift that keeps on giving! I'd never trade nintendolife for an AI alternative and I'm sure everyone else will feel the same way.
@Olliemar28 What about the Wii U version of BotW which sold 1.70 million copies? Overall the game has sold 32.85 million copies. I think the article should amend the figure of BotW sales if you're including the total combined sales of multiple game versions.
Only two brand new games in the list and Metroid Prime 4 probably won't release next year. Let's hope a Direct early next year gives us more new experiences.
@dew12333 The Another Code games were amazing though, what underwhelmed you about the first one?
