@NIN10DOXD Yes I don't like the repetitive combat dialogue either, though I have seen people on this site say they hate the English accents of the first Xenoblade game. As for Zelda, her father has the same accent and so it can be assumed that other members of the castle and her deceased mother would sound the same
I remember as a child I had a dream one night about a Wind Waker sequel before Phantom Hourglass was ever annouced. So holding the European version in my hands when it finally released and looking at the cover which screamed "Wind Waker 2" was literally a dream come true
Her voice sounds good to me because when dealing with anime-style characters living in royalty and set in a medieval world it's the correct route to go with an English accent. She's mainly lived in the castle with the king and other similar-speaking characters so she would naturally have that accent, even if she's secretly adventurous at heart. Plus the VA is capable of voicing a strong sounding Zelda as her speech at Fort Hateno displayed in AoC.
Now that I think about it I often see people trashing the English accents in Xenoblade, so I think some people just have a bias towards American anime VAs because they're the most commonly heard and it's what they're used to.
Not sure if it's changed since BOTW since my epona carried over from that game, but she doesn't have max stats as stated in the article. She just has a balance of all 4 star stats.
I'm tired of the Pikmin series being treated as lesser just because it's not as serious and epic as some other Nintendo franchises. It's always been just as high quality as other 1st party titles that have released around the same time and is overseen by Miyamoto himself. If Nintendo wants to round off the Switch with Pikmin 4, we have nothing to complain about.
Anyway, what really matters is the entire library of games we will look back on and judge the console for, not the final game most people played on it. If Nintendo wants to release some solid smaller titles to round off the console before and after the next gen system releases, that can only be a good thing.
I've still got my entire collection of gaming magazines from the N64/Gameboy days all the way to late 2014 when I read my last one on a plane trip to Japan. There really was something special about them and how appealing they could make games look
@JimNorman It may be too late to amend the article/poll now but TOTK will actually be the 11th mainline appearance of the Master Sword. The list is missing the below games which are all included in the Zelda timeline's plot and aren't considered spin offs:
Oracle of Seasons Oracle of Ages Four Swords/Four Swords Anniversary Edition A Link Between Worlds
The Oracle games contain a new Master Sword, but considering Nintendo's own tweet missed two appearances of the usual Master Sword, I don't think they were being very thorough and all ten appearances should have been included.
I know you can save designs and respawn them but I want to keep the exact same vehicle loaded in the game world for a long time, to be able to form a connection with it.
@MirrorFate2 I agree about his Zelda playthroughs and Skyward Sword was the best example of that. I guess he was clued in to that games reputation (before the HD remake made more people view it positively) so he dialed up the tantrum behaviour. His attempt to defeat Demise was one of the most embarrassing things I've ever watched and was just exhausting as a viewer.
I would be disappointed if he voiced a character in a game I was buying as I don't really find him enjoyable to listen to and his dolphin-sounding laugh is quite iritating.
Crystal Bearers was my first and I still think it's great. The world was very colourful, detailed and had a laid back atmosphere. The music and characters were great too.
These voices were an iconic part of my childhood and I wish him all the best with his treatment. It's a shame they ended that era of the show too as I always assumed those would be the main characters for as long as the franchise was around
I have this on 3DS and it was great fun to play on back then. It's around the same length as Kirby's Dream Land and is has just as much charm and plays very similarly to that series. I would like this colourized version, but not at that price. Besides, it looked kinda odd in colour compared to B/W.
The only issue is that neither trailer ended on a moment that wowed me and they both sort of just peter out. Everything else about them is perfect though. I have to go with BOTW trailer, just because it ends a little more strongly.
@Crockin It was just supposed to be a humorous comment that I think you're taking too literally and seriously. It's obviously not actually a crime that you can get locked away for. Perhaps there was a person or two that had both in Japanese history. Even if that was the case, it's not all real fashion Nintendo would have pulled from when designing him. The top knot is to go with his samurai outfit and the ponytail is there to mirror Link's. Similar to how both Wolf Link and Ganon had the same fur pattern in Twilight Princess.
@Crockin I don't know why you assume I'm talking about white guys from 9 years ago. With past Japanese styles, men could either have a top knot (basically a man bun but higher up) or a ponytail. I've never heard of someone rocking both in anything I've read or seen that was non-fiction.
Having both a man bun and a ponytail is a crime. My vote goes for the youngest and strongest looking Ganondorf from ocarina. Just one of his arms was the size of Link's entire body!
@Axecon Ganondorf can't be Demise's puppet if he was never around to control him. He's more like the result of Demise giving Link and Zelda the middle finger before he was trapped in the Master Sword and then crushed to death by part of the Temple of Hylia.
Ganondorf has always been very muscular ever since his first appearance in his original form in Ocarina. He looks similarly sized here so I don't understand people's surprise.
@OldManHermit I preferred Darkside Chronicles to Umbrella, regardless of the shakier camera + any game Leon stars in is a win for me (yes, I like RE6). Glad to hear RE4R referenced Operation Javier. That storyline was a treat as RE4 is my favourite in the series.
Unless you didn't plan ahead with your purchasing, you shouldn't have more than a few pounds left on there anyway. I just used my remainder on Switch like most people
"The one thing we do know about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's empty roster spots is that they will be filled by "returning characters", which probably means Nintendo will be digging through the Mario Kart archives."
Mario Kart Tour is a mainline entry in the series, so if Poochy appears there first, they can definitely add him to MK8D!
I've been visiting these eShops since I was 17 (3DS) and 19 (Wii U) and I'm now 29. I Spent endless hours browsing them and enjoying the music & finding hidden gems. Ended up buying some true classics from both stores, so thanks for the memories Nintendo
I love the realistic and detailed graphics in the original. The lighting looked incredible, especially at sunset and the different seasons looked so appealing
Here's a "preventative health tip" that will also save you money: just buy a comfortable, well-padded office chair instead of any kind of gaming chair.
I actually think Link from the original Hyrule Warriors is the most powerful and could take BOTW Link on quite easily, especially with the Master Sword, or ball and chain weapons
Just looked on the eshop and the expansion pass is £31.49 😱 Also Pokemon Presents said parts 1 and 2 would release in 2023 but the eshop says part 1 will release on New Year's Eve and part 2 on 30th April 2024??
Like a lot of people I prefer the look of the Wii versions character models and characters. I'm hoping, but doubting that the cel shading effect can be toggled on and off. At least the level of detail has been greatly improved on Switch and I'll buy it sometime down the line just to hear the beautiful music in the ice/aurora looking levels.
Every game from Red & Blue all the way to Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were solidly made, had beautiful graphics and pushed the consoles they were released for to the limit.
I guess Gamefreak can't learn how to develop properly for console because the fans want the series to keep up with the high standards of AAA console games and they suddenly had to develop games on that level and scale. I think their Switch output has been a mixed bag when it comes to level of polish, not a trainwreck, but not like the old days either.
To everyone complaining about wave 1: We're getting an entire hub as a gift to original fans + wave 2's story, for the same price as Splatoon 2's Octo Expansion which only included story DLC. Whether or not you're happy with what Inkopolis includes, it's a win-win situation.
@Zach777 Just so you know there are no "math mice" in gen 3. Plusle and Minun are based on positive and negative charges. Unless you were attempting to make a joke?
The Dread suit is cool and I like the idea of the Fusion suit becoming metal again over time, but I found it's same old varia & gravity upgrades tiring and from the back it looks like she's wearing a nappy...
The PED suit from Prime 3 is my fav because of how cool it looks as it gains upgrades and becomes more corrupted over time.

This is very sad as I have all of their Tingle games and enjoyed them greatly. They're talented devs and I hope they get jobs in similar studios soon

It all looks extremely promising as long as the developers optimise it well enough for Switch
Re: Random: Square Enix's New Turf War Shooter Has 'Splatoon' Trending Online
It looks fun but it's another Splatoon clone like Ninjala. Saying that, these games owe a lot to graffiti mode in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series
