I was born in the same city as the creator of Wallace and Gromit, Nick Park. It's nice to see a connection between Pokemon and my home.

I can see how over time this would be incredibly annoying for the devs at Retro. However, the Japanese in general are the biggest perfectionists in the gaming industry. They will focus on making the tiniest details of a game look beautiful and individual. This even extends to background details 99% of players won't notice. Since this is Nintendo's property, they're going to make doubly sure a foreign developer gets it right and is consistent with their own work.

This was one of the best games of the year and it's such a shame that Limited Run Games have got their greedy hands on it

I just want to know if there will be a physical edition in the UK. You'd think they would have announced that by now considering that they're based here.

I love Warioland and Warioware so this collection looks like a thing of beauty to me. Super mario Land 2 was the first game I ever played and the final battle against Wario in that game is SO GOOD. Therefore, I will always appreciate fellow fans of the big guy.

I got Rollercoaster Tycoon Deluxe a few months back on GOG for around £1.50 in a sale. That's why I won't be getting this, but for those who do, enjoy it!

@JohnnyMind I was saying the plush of Lugia is silver. They don't look like their sprites (normal, or shiny), because they've been coloured based on the name of their respective games.

@JohnnyMind Lugia is supposed to be silver and their colour schemes are based more on their game's colour theme than their original designs.

@Thief The graphics had a bit more charm in the originals and the 8-bit music was much catchier. Well, that's why I return to them more.

@Bret I guess, but the Temple of the Ocean King requires less visits than the Tower of Spirits overall and you don't have to deal with Zelda's questionable phantom AI when solving puzzles. That and the new items you acquire allow for shortcuts that change up your routes each time you revisit floors, whereas the Tower of Spirits is the same thing every playthrough.

Echoes of Wisdom wasn't cinematic, or serious enough to be considered for game of the year I guess...

Because of Spike Chunsoft we got Natsu-Mon and Bakeru this year and I enjoyed both immensely. I hope they continue to release games for Nintendo so that we can get sequels to those games.

Like Felix said in his review, its a shame that the Switch's haptic feedback wasn't taken advantage of to try to replicate the experience of playing with a PS5 controller. However the cheap price of the game and good reviews makes me want to buy it still

Eh, I've completed this minigame 3-4 times in my life and it really isn't THAT bad. Plus, you unlock the sound test along with the heart piece and gold Carlov face, so it's well worth doing. I'd take it over collecting 1000 korok seeds without a guide any day.

"I never count Nintendo out" seems like a patronizing thing to say when Nintendo are currently the most successful video game company. I've heard almost identical quotes from other Western devs over the years which were just as eye rolling. They're seen as lesser just because they most of the games they make are family.

This is the first time I've updated the game since I finished it in early 2018, so I'm excited to see all the things I've missed since then.

With how fast they release Call of Duty games I kind of expected that we'd have one on Switch by this point.

I've been reading this site since the Wii era and this might be the most comments I've ever seen on one article...

My thoughts when playing the first Shadow level was that it's the most polished 3D Sonic level I've ever played and a real visual spectacle (and I'm talking about the Switch version) The game is also a dream for people like me who consider themselves fans of Shadow and his games.

I somehow guessed the Tingle reveal from the rupee...played too much Tingle's Rosey Rupee Land growing up I guess lol

Anyway, that was some excellent animation and the moments between Mario and Luigi + Bowser and Isabelle were surprisingly emotional.

@Mariotag You can already buy a season pass on the eShop for around £11 with all the digital deluxe content included. I know this as I've done just that

Glittergaze Glacier was the one level in the original that looked near perfect to me and was one of my favourites out of all of Yooka/Banjo/DK64. I'm not too fond of what they've done with the brightness, skybox or igloos.

Some of the comments here are disappointing. You need to accept that people have different opinions than yourself and read a bunch of reviews for a better idea of what the game will be like before you make your own decision. I guess fanboys will hate any review lower than an 8 though.

Also, the idea that nintendolife should only have a staff member who is a fan of a series review it is beyond stupid and not how the real world works.

@tameshiyaku I don't know about this game but I've played three previous games which had Japanese audio language only (Attack of the Friday Monsters, Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation and Natsu-Mon)

It's the Shadow portion of the game which I'm most worried about performance-wise. Until I see that, I can't properly judge things.

This trend of releasing a game digitally and then announcing a physical version soon after is a great business decision and a huge slap in the face to loyal fans who buy your games on day one. I'm really glad I hesitated to buy this now.

Four Swords Anniversary Edition was a remaster with a single player mode, exclusive levels and wireless multiplayer. I think that justifies it being considered a DSi game.

@27celsius search a trailer for the game on Nintendo of America's YouTube channel called "Doom Powers" if you want to see the Shadow part of the game running on Switch.

I didn't realise you guys archived the trailer, but I'm glad you did!

I wish they would include the original and new version. It would benefit people like me who want the authentic experience of playing the original on a modern console, whilst also showing everyone who buys it how much has changed in the new version. It's something I wish the N. Sane Trilogy had done too.

I'm hoping everything gets ironed out performance-wise by the time the physical version releases next year.
