It will bring zero excitement for me as I own all the best games from their past physically and don't want to pay them yearly for a temporary chance to play them lol
@Bluesaxo No, I was just discussing why I think it's possible gen 10 could come to Switch based on the history of the series releases. I don't know what aspect of my comment made you feel attacked, or threatened, but your reply has made you look like the negative one.
@Bluesaxo Why is it obvious? B2/W2 released in 2012 when the 3DS was already released and US/UM in 2017 during the Switch's first year. With the 9th gen having released in 2022 and Switch 2 most likely releasing in 2025 that lines up accurately with the three year gap between gens and first year of the next gen where they remain faithful to the previous console.
Sega really aren't helping themselves here. This will probably now become another case like Yakuza on Wii U's sales. I live in the UK, so won't be importing this and certainly won't be using up 22GB of my systems memory on this game.
I was offered the New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition, so I could play this system a few months earlier than the rest of the world! There were only 5000 models made too. I've kept it in perfect condition because of it's rarity.
30fps DOES look more cinematic for certain games. This is a creative, artistic choice by the developers and that's why they most give the player the option to switch between framerates and I'm fine with that.
I will have to buy a copy off eBay in a few years when it's cheap since I went for the digital version Oh well, hopefully Natsu-Mon gets the same treatment too.
I'm confused as I thought at one stage during the Switch lifecycle we went without a Nintendo Direct for almost 2 years. I remember people thought they had ditched the format in favour of surprise announcements. So how did we have a Direct every September??
Since around 2018 people have been complaining about the Switch specs and hoping for a Pro, or successor model. I want to grab and shake you people into realising that we're living in a golden era of Nintendo and you should enjoy the now. Besides, in a couple of years when you're playing the next console, you'll once again complain about how it doesn't run as well as the other systems and about how you need Switch 3. You are lost causes who don't understand what the experience of playing Nintendo is really about.
So can this be bought separately from the digital deluxe version? I can't imagine them keeping this away from people who bought the expensive collectors edition.
Very interesting read! Natsu-Mon has become my game of the year and even Zelda might have a tough time dethroning it. I have it on Switch and while I'm doubtful they will improve the framerate, every other aspect of the game is perfection.
I love the art style and characters, the open world is something I've always dreamed of exploring, the 30+ hour story (if you slow the rate of time) was really immersive and I loved the way there were countless side quests to complete and even more with the DLC. The icing on the cake is that they released it in August 2024, which marked 10 years since I visited Japan. It was a very nostalgic month for me :')
It's also really good to hear they could port Attack of the Friday Monsters. That was my favourite downloadable title on 3DS and it would be great if we could see it in HD.
I don't believe this is the next console for one reason. A huge element of why the Wii U failed was because it looked so similar to the Wii, which itself had already fizzled out in popularity by 2012.
I don't believe they will do the same with the next console. They will want to make sure people know it's something completely new based on its design and features so that they can enjoy another eight years of success.
@Classic603 Try a new rom hack called Pokemon Emerald Seaglass. It's Emerald, but with Gameboy Color-like sprite work (different looking to the actual GBC Pokemon games though), fully drawn backgrounds during battle, Pokémon can follow your trainer and more.
As a huge fan of gen 3, it's been a wonderful hack so far.
I nearly went for team past because of my nostalgia for the original Splatoon, but ended up going for present instead because it has the best members and the Octo Expansion was legendary.
They've talked about a discount for Replaylee if you own the original, but I doubt it will release on Switch. They'll probably abandon this console just like how they ditched Wii U owners who backed the game.
@Roibeard64 I felt they were really great during the Wii/DS/3DS era where they gave better translations/English dubs for games than NoA (e.g. Zelda Spirit Tracks, Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Project Zero 2: Wii Edition). We also got loads of earlier game releases, or ones that were never localised in America like Another Code R.
@Ryu_Niiyama As far back as 1998 Miyamoto stated that there was always a timeline for the series, they just didn't want to release it to the public at that point. They've shifted some games around from time to time, but it's always been a planned thing.
@jikflet since Spike Chunsoft just released Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid as a digital only release, I'm not holding out hope that this will get released physically. They're both niche and I think they appeal to similar audiences, even if they aren't the same genre.
I don't know exactly how many games have been developed by Nintendo themselves this year, but I've been just as busy playing Switch exclusive games released each month as I was in 2023.
Another Code, Endless Ocean, Nintendo World Championships, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, Mario Vs Donkey Kong and I haven't even got round to Paper Mario yet. And with the upcoming Pikmin 4 DLC "Miyamoto's Garden" releasing in November it's been a great year for Switch!
I remember seeing someone on Gamefaqs saying the original Fantasy Life took them 2000 hours to 100% complete, so the delays for this one are understandable.
Honestly, October is packed anyway, as we'll all be busy with Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, then later that month there's The Plucky Squire, Mario Party Jamboree, Shin Chan: Shiro of Coal Town and Sonic X Shadow: Generations.
I'm currently playing Spike Chunsofts most recent release, Natsu-Mon and this will compliment it nicely! As a huge fan of Goemon growing up I've been looking forward to a western release of this and Good-Feel always delivers!
This isn't a workaround for the constant need to recalibrate the gyro aiming which plagues the experience. (The game is excellent apart from this). They should have at least had the controls auto-recallibrate during loading screens, similar to how Warioware: Move It! does between each microgame.
Here in Europe we've always been lucky enough to have better Zelda box art than North America. That's not always the case when comparing ours with what Japan gets though.
Is there a post game after the credits where the game can be completed 100%? Or is it more of a situation where every playthrough is unique with the things you'll manage to complete within the time constraints?

Re: Intriguing Indie World Title Is Now On Indefinite Hold On Switch
Why does this game look so similar to A Short Hike?
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Super Mario Party Jamboree?
This will be my first home console Mario Party (I own Advance and DS)

Re: Yakuza Kiwami Dev Confirms Physical Switch Release
Take notes, 2D Boy/Tomorrow Corporation/Spike Chunsoft, this is how you announce a physical version (before the digital version releases)
If the whole game is on the cartridge I'll definitely buy it.
Re: Feature: "We Tested 60fps In Pre-Production, But The Smoothness Felt Unnatural"

Re: Fear Not, Sonic Team Plans To Support Last-Gen Consoles For A While
@RupeeClock I get what you mean, but console generations aren't determined by how powerful a console is.
Re: Fear Not, Sonic Team Plans To Support Last-Gen Consoles For A While
@RupeeClock Not to be that guy, but the Switch is a current gen console.
Re: Ubisoft's Disastrous 2024 May Lead To The Company Going Private
@MirrorFate2 Yeah, I guess not. I'm sure they can bounce back from whatever trouble they're having though.
Re: Doom + Doom II Updated On Switch, Here Are The Patch Notes
When I played them back in 2021 Doom 2 crashed sometimes when I loaded back into it from the Switch home menu. I wonder if that was patched up to now?
Re: Ubisoft's Disastrous 2024 May Lead To The Company Going Private
I love all Ubisoft games I've played since childhood. The Far Cry series, Red Steel 1 & 2, Rayman 2 & 3, Hype - the Time Quest, and so many others.
I see a lot of hate towards Ubisoft these days but they've given me so many amazing games I can't see them as anything except legends.

I've seen more graphically impressive games on Switch 1
Re: Tony Hawk Confirms That The Video Game Series Has "A Future"

Re: Tony Hawk Confirms That The Video Game Series Has "A Future"
Pro Skater 4 was the best game in the series so here's hoping we get that 3+4 remake soon.
Re: Bakeru Is Currently Unavailable On The Switch eShop In Europe
It's a great game but 54 levels is a lot to 100% complete! I've reached level 19 and had to put it down for a while.

Re: Level-5's New Yo-Kai Watch 'Holy Horror Mansion' Teaser Supposedly Features AI Artwork
My initial impression of the trailer was that it looked like an incredible amount of work went into creating it...now I feel like I have been tricked.
I can only hope that generative AI isn't being used for Fantasy Life i, or they wouldn't be getting my purchase.
