@Thief what are the tablets? My copy is sealed; I assumed there wasn’t any online stuff in DQVII.

@Flashlink99 because Microsoft acquired Zenimax. The same way Sony was paying companies to keep their games off Xbox for at least a year at a time (Deathloop, Ghostwire, Final Fantasy) etc. Seems a lot of people can’t get their head around Xbox having exclusive games!

Anyway it could still be multiplat as the Quake Remasters have been so who knows.

Also for the record I completely get financial and time restraints that stop people owning everything. But if those 2 aren’t factors then life is too short to ignore the games you want!

@Flashlink99 I assume you went for the PS5 + Switch combo, because of the exclusives on those platforms? So what is wrong with Xbox having an exclusive?

Would be nice to see a new Quake but I think I would be more interested in the Doom Zero rumour. Guess I would have to see how it plays.

Lots of games are scams but you should be careful calling out genuine games as scams. Not exactly fair to the devs. This is on Gamepass today by the way - looking forward to trying it out with a friend (I haven’t played it yet).

Sounds like it’s Hi-Fi rush. It’s an incredible game which I still feel is underrated. However one thing Xbox needs to understand is you need a library of exclusives to bring people to your ecosystem. One game isn’t usually enough; even if it’s something great - but for every additional game more people will “buy in”. Starfield might not be enough; but Starfield and Hi-Fi Rush? Ok that gets you more sales. But what about Starfield, Hi-Fi Rush, Avowed, Hellblade, and the snowballing of more and more exclusives? Thats what would get more people buying an Xbox (or subbing to Gamepass) but taking one of those games and making it multi-plat isn’t helping. Even if it allows more people to play it and gives you a short term boost in sales.

Not really sure I understand why they do this but 🤷‍♂️.

I grew up on Humongous Entertainment so this is cool! Just wish they were reasonably priced on switch (they aren’t).

I feel like if Playstation had won anything for its games this year he would have let them speak for longer but there we go.

@Not_Soos don’t let Chain of Memories stop you from continuing the series. Kingdom Hearts 2 is great and yes you would be missing some context but I never completed it before moving on to KH2 back in the day and it was fine.

Also one of my favourite series of all time despite what others say. I even like KH3 even though it didn’t really have much mainline story.

@Imani “Xbox will lock their games behind Gamepass”…. Meanwhile what is Nintendo doing? On Xbox you can actually buy every single game that is on Gamepass (except The Cave I think). On NSO… you can’t.

@Serpenterror sure but Xbox could completely ignore Nintendo’s consoles (outside of COD, since they have agreed to that) and choose not to release anything. They own the IP now so it’s upto them. The Minecrafts and the Call of Duties; and I assume most other activision games will continue to release on Nintendo consoles. But the Rare IPs are upto them. Banjo in smash was upto them… didn’t have to happen. Obviously they get the revenue from it too which is fair; but thats still them including the Nintendo community as part of their line-up.

Maybe you get some of those Xbox Game Studios releases on the next Nintendo console who knows. Sea of Thieves and Grounded would be great releases on a Nintendo consoles.

@Arkay exactly and i’m sure many people here would say the same. Just a shame they couldn’t see that it was a good thing and not a bad thing; but everything has to have hate thrown at it these days. Anyway enjoy - hopefully the other Rare Snes/N64 releases do come over. I don’t see why not now!

Thirdly though what the hell is wrong with everyone. The amount of people that ask for Rare Replay here (since 2015 you have been missing out and are still asking for it) and then quickly turn around and say they hate Xbox. Jeez. I grew up with Nintendo but there is some green grass on the other side. It can be just as good as the red grass. Even the blue grass is ok, sometimes, in moderation.

@HeadPirate I don’t think a lot of people understand how incredible id@xbox is and how they literally cover the xbox development costs a lot of the time. Removing (almost) all risk from a port (still takes time of course). Perhaps Xbox doesn’t advertise it enough but obviously it’s a dev thing not so much a consumer thing. Also microsoft rewards. Imagine missing out on those for however long it’s been running. I exchange mine for £5 giftcards once or twice a month and just get free games.

@90sRetroGaming would love a Tiny Toons collection. Most of the games are solid. Though I have picked almost all of them up in recent years.

I’m actually tempted. But could do without the console and cartridge cases - just added extra cost for no reason.

Tough one but I went with Europe because it has the “globe” effect like a lot of the other Mario games (upright above the logo and upside-down below the logo).

@Serpenterror there was a leak of a digital only console from Microsoft yes but you just added a bunch of made up crap to that fact. Where does it say “all new consoles digital only”? They are also only shutting the 360 store but most of what is on there is backwards compatible (and will remain so) or is on disc too. Definitely sucks they are shutting it though I agree; but it doesn’t affect BC. The games that are being lost are due to issues around licensing that meant they couldn’t be BC. Not Xbox’s fault.

I can play most of the digital games I bought in 2006 from Xbox Live Arcade on my Series X… and they aren’t stopping that so not sure why you think they are. I can also still access my save from those games and still play them online (unless the servers shut e.g. EA games).

Yea i’m done with building up a library from scratch again. This needs backwards compatibility otherwise that is going to be a big mark against it.

Finished the main campaign co-op with a friend on Gamepass just before it left the other day. Really fun but extremely repetitive by the end. Also not sure what it’s like single-player but co-op is extremely forgiving with checkpoints and respawns etc even on the harder difficulties. This looks cool though.

@Sisilly_G thanks for the info. Just haven’t seen Apogee’s name anywhere. I was never expecting a sequel; but everytime I hear the name Nightdive I hope it’s followed by “remasters Blake Stone and its Sequel”. Especially now that Rise of the Triad is out. There is also the dream of an Apogee Evercade cartridge which would be beautiful.

I can play them on Steam but I would love to see a remaster. And Aliens of Gold still has one of the best soundtracks I have heard in a game.

Does 3D Realms have Blake Stone? The rights from Apogee are kinda hard to follow. I swear half my comments on this site are about this game but i’m still waiting for it to come back.

Nintendo are literally waiting for me to play through my Wii U copy before they announce the Switch version the next day. Thats it. I’m not sure it’s going to happen guys sorry.

I have played the first 3 on Xbox and really enjoyed them.

Only ever played the first; and then the remaster of the first. I do have a GBA cart of tactics though that is eyeing up my Analogue Pocket… hmmm

@Dazman @Bolkarover I too am interested to see the list of shovelware Rare is putting out on gamepass. Though I have a feeling Dazman is just regurgitating something he has seen online.

Should have done the same with Volition and its IPs.

Would this include Gearbox’s IPs…?

Possibly one of my top 10 games of all time - that experience of going through it with friends back on the 360 was incredible. Castle Crashers doesn’t get enough love and I would love a sequel.

@Xbox_Dashboard It Takes Two is incredible and some of the best gameplay I have seen in a video game. It was my GOTY in 2021 as soon as I played it. With Psychonauts 2 as the runner up

This was Supaplex for me. A Boulder Dash clone that I could never remember the name of and lost for years.

@Dringo great to see someone put some thought into the Rare situation. I see so many people say Microsoft killed Rare when it really didn’t. And the fact video games take longer to make these days; people can’t seem to comprehend that that also applies to Rare.

I have really enjoyed every game that they have made with Xbox including PD0 and the Kinect games.

Just finishing off 2 before I start it. Can’t wait.

I love both of these games; though I played on Steam (Metro) and iOS (Motorways). So addictive.

Yea this is the highlight for sure! Loved these games on N64 at the time.

Just wish it wasn’t Limited Run but hey it means digital releases too.

I like that Evercade bundled some of these together on their Indie 1 and Indie 2 releases (e.g. Deadeus and Quest Arrest). Much more affordable way of trying them out whilst also supporting them. Hopefully games like this will hit the platform too.
