Re: Poll: Will You Be Getting The New Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Switch OLED?

K1LLEGAL

I have the OLED preordered along with the case at the moment but still not sure. I almost always play handheld so would get use out of it but with the next Switch expected… I just don’t know! Help!

If the next one is backwards compatible with cartridges then I don’t need it but if it’s not then I would like to have it to keep that library going. Only got a launch Switch at the moment.

@WingZeroSys er no? I’m not a scalper. I have pre-ordered because i’m interested in owning the product for the price it costs. Have you never been under 100% sure about something you have bought? Very savvy of you.

I’m sorry you didn’t get one yet, that sucks if you really want one; but don’t tell me what to do with mine. I missed out on the collector’s edition of the game too (at a decent-ish price at least).

Re: The 3DS & Wii U eShops Have Officially Closed, Purchases "No Longer Possible"

Yea really hope we are past this now and it becomes a continuous eco-system like Xbox has managed since the 360 (for the most part), but especially with the Xbox One onwards being the same one store. With the Nintendo account system, you would hope they have taken the initial steps to root the Switch as the new start for this.

The fact that some games I bought in 2006 digitally on Xbox I can still play today on my Series X is actually so good (17 years of continuity, what!). And it should be like that. If I buy a Virtual Console game, why shouldn’t that come with me across Nintendo generations.

I do feel sad about it! Hope I don’t regret not picking something up down the line but it’s done now. The music, the channels etc, it was all it’s own vibe/atmosphere. Very nostalgic for it.

Re: 23 Best Wii U eShop Games You Should Get Before They're Gone Forever

So I FOMO’d more than I thought I would over the last couple of days:

3DS: Attack of the Friday Monsters, Crimson Shroud, and Pokemon Red.

Wii U: Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, and Super Mario RPG

It’s really hard to know what will be brought back by Nintendo in a reasonable timeframe and what wont. Tempted by Pushmo World or whatever the UK name is. I just have no storage space on the Wii U so it ruins the whole thing.

Re: Review: Metroid Fusion - An Infectious, Portable Pleasure

@Mgalens 100% Xbox (and to a lesser extent playstation) have shown that the options can exist alongside eachother where you can either sub or purchase. I do see it as a weird argument where someone says “oh thats coming to Gamepass, I would rather own it…” as if you can’t buy any single gamepass game you like (you can). So yea would love to see Nintendo give the option.

Thinking about it though… i’ve realised I also miss the whole “channel” aspect of the Wii and Wii U. The Switch is great but its home screen/dashboard is… trash. So part of the fun of owning the Virtual Console games was seeing their logos and start screens flashing up in some completely unsynchronised order alongside the Wii home music.

Oh man. 17 years flies by.

@Nintendo4Sonic that was the ambassador program version, which is where I played it. You couldn’t buy it unfortunately; though I believe it was on Wii U; which is probably where this review is originally from.

I agree I miss the Virtual Console a lot, but at least this is a legit option. The longer you leave it before subbing; the more value gets added too.

Re: Saudi Arabia's PIF Raises Stake In Nintendo For The Second Time This Year

For the record, for the mod, my comment #30 was not off topic. Maybe I should have put emphasis around the word “Nintendo”. Since my point was directly referring to the sales on a “Nintendo” system as a reflection of what this article we are commenting on is discussing. Literally the entire point of this article and the outcome from it. But okay then.

Re: Square Enix Planning "Multiple New Titles" And New IP

K1LLEGAL

Yea SE are competing with themselves at this point. @Hayter has it spot on they released so many games at the end of last year it was too much. I just got Star Ocean, Tactics Ogre, Diofield and Stranger of Paradise but it’s just way too much content.

3 of the above I got on Xbox but still most of their releases skip Xbox. Rude; and also means they can’t use Gamepass to generate revenue. Stop getting into bed with Sony.

Re: Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection Launches On Switch Spring 2023

K1LLEGAL

Everyone knew this would come to console eventually. So stupid that SE releases on mobile and Steam first and leaves a huge gap in time because they want you to buy it there first and hopefully double dip. I actually do feel like it will come to Xbox (and native PS5) eventually but who knows when that will be. Square Enix has some incredible IP but they are becoming one of the more dodgy publishers these days. At least on sale their games tend to be solid value.

@DaniPooo that would be a plot twist if this release turned out to be a code in the box!
