For those saying they aren’t shady - see my comment #28. They are getting exclusivity for things like English Language, where you would have been able to get something from Play-Asia with English before.

Providing a physical copy of a game that wouldn’t have had one otherwise is awesome. But stripping other releases to make your own product more exclusive is the opposite. Im in the UK and have 8 LRG games so far with 3 more on order; but after this, the Star Wars con, and the fact Aspyr/THQ, ID software and Konami don’t need LRG, i’m done unfortunately (Plus shipping has increased).

And yea I know you can still play them. I have the Horizon games digitally luckily, all of them including the Fast and Furious standalone version. Also good to have all the DLC as, unless you can find a valid code, new players won’t have access to the Hot Wheels or Lego expansions for instance. That’s a shame!

I do think Microsoft should sort them out though and just reach into their wallet and pay out to have them all (Horizon and Motorsport) back to being sold digitally (including expansions).

@UltraZelda64 that is true - sorry I was thinking more of the Horizon series which is backwards compatible (despite being delisted). Not sure about the Motorsport games before 5!

The old Rare games are playable on Series X|S and Xbox One, so he doesn’t have to release them on Switch online for his words to make sense. I never understood why the people on this site clamouring for Rare games don’t just buy an Xbox (if financially viable). Rare Replay is beautiful.

Anyway yea @ATaco I mean he introduced Backwards Compatability for Xbox One and carried it over to Series X|S and just added 76 more games…

@UltraZelda64 unfortunately it seems Licensing IS an issue with the Forza games. They license all the cars I believe for a set amount of time. It’s rubbish and it’s fair to call them out for it, but I think there are “reasons”. Must be a bit heartbreaking for Playground games when they know Forza Horizon 5 will most likely eventually get delisted.

@HarvestGoddess were you angry when Sony did the same thing? I wouldn’t suggest skipping games out of loyalty.

Crazy how this discussion is ongoing over a year later. Supposedly Zenimax had financial issues before they were bought too so maybe if it helps, some of you could see it as Microsoft saving them? I question why these articles still exist but then you still get people in the comments section who are confused and angry; so I guess the article does serve a purpose.

I would want this, but they conned me with the others. So yea skipping it this time. LRG are just being dicks at this point. I raced a drivatar on Forza 5 yesterday called Baggad1cks and it reminded me of LRG.

As @xiao7 said, SwitchWatch does a great job of calling them out. Nintendolife really should follow suit. As an example, they are starting to get “exclusivity” over English Language releases, with Japanese release originally set to have English then removing it so that LRG can have exclusivity. And yea the Star Wars thing is just a joke.

@glaemay I haven’t tried PS2 but it plays Gamecube games pretty well!

From this article I now have more hope that these games will come to Xbox! It’s a long shot but with Microsoft’s push for more Japanese games it’s not impossible.

Ys VIII is a really good game and if I had more time I would get into the Trails series (especially since I purchased all of them). Falcom is pretty awesome.

This just looks like yet another case of Sony copying Nintendo to me!

I remember using 1000 points to get early access to the Nintendo DS with Super Mario 64 DS and a couple of Demos. Was so awesome.

@Buckster666 same buddy! As long as there is a physical for Switch. Digital on Series X though for sure. Vice City is one of those games I will always love.

I remember picking Two Towers over Vice City when it first came out. That was also epic though so it’s all good

Got mine yesterday but still haven’t played 2 which I bought on 3DS or ever finished Super Metroid or Fusion. So not sure what to do! I feel like this series isn’t actually very story heavy - am I wrong?

Anyway I understand your confusion; the Kingdom Hearts series isn’t exactly the simplest to follow. Even the whole Dark Road thing; I think there have been multiple versions of it as I played a really old version when it first came out.

@Jeronan None of the Kingdom Hearts games are on mobile except for the mobile-only games like Dark Road. So not sure where you got that from? There was a mobile version of the 1st game in Japan about 19years ago but that was not the same experience. Also I hope you didn’t play 3 without playing the others… this is a canonically heavy series which you need to play in order (as best you can).

1.5 is Kingdom Hearts Final Mix (HD Remaster of PS2 original), RE:Chain Of Memories (3D remake of the GBA game), and HD cutscenes from 358/2 (DS Game)

2.5 is Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix (HD Remaster of PS2 original), Birth By Sleep Final Mix (HD Remaster of PSP Original), and HD cutscenes of RE:Coded (DS Game)

2.8 is Dream Drop Distance HD (HD Remaster of 3DS Game), Birth By Sleep Fragmentary Passage (original game for collection) and an HD Movie original to the collection.

It is stupid. KH3 I understand of course. Would have got 1.5/2.5 and 2.8 to have on cartridge but oh well saved me money I guess!

1.5/2.5 is 4 Games and 2 Cutscene Movies
2.8 is 2 Games and 1 Cutscene Movie (so good)

@brandonbwii this is the rebooted trilogy of PC games. I have these on GOG but never got round to playing them. Excited to give them a shot on Switch though.

@kategray whilst people should definitely not be mean; I have been struggling with how to comment regarding this article because it’s (maybe) fine as a one-off but I don’t want the site to get filled with this stuff (my opinion).

The title of the article is just a plain lie which is bordering on click-bait. There weren’t any video game characters there I hate that as it really doesn’t value the readers’ time. These sites are meant to be better than that. For instance right now on these sites you have the article “tales of arise sells 1 million” simple and to the point. But on IGN you have “tales of arise hits this major milestone” or whatever so you have to click for the actual useful info.

Would be interesting to know what all the deleted comments were about.

You can also purchase the physical version in the UK (looks like it releases on 24/09) despite NintendoLife only giving US sites and prices for whatever reason.

@Snatcher Yea - I don’t mind a premium given how spot on these lego sets usually are and with licenses etc. But this is a bit too high. Even £80 would be pushing it.

Yea i’m regretting getting from LRG. I don’t care about rarity; for me it’s the cost importing to the UK. Assumed these wouldn’t get a physical release. Starting to learn my lesson.

@shineget64 KOTOR is one of those few games in my life that I haven’t played but really want to and i’m just holding out for a remake or something. It’s on my Xbox but I can’t bring myself to play the original version.

For those saying Review it as it is; I would agree but the game-breaking bugs are halting progress. They can’t review the game if they can barely access it.

On the Xbox store it already has so many 1 star reviews due to the game not starting up. According to this article that looks like it may have been fixed now, but I bet most of those reviews won’t be updated to reflect this.

@jrt87 whilst I agree regarding anyone purchasing these as an investment, some people just like to have a game physically. It’s rare to see someone purchasing these to keep as opposed to profit off of though, I admit. Same with a lot of things these days unfortunately ☹️

@moodycat i’m also waiting for Fata Morgana which in turn has held up No more Heroes 1 & 2. But I knew what it would be like going in so i’m not too bothered. May go for this double pack as never played either game!

Just wanna say a lot of the Sonic games are available on Series X (modern console) already through backwards compatibility including Unleashed, Generations and Adventure 1&2!

I play this co-op with a couple of friends whenever a new level comes out and it is the gift that keeps on giving. Such a fantastic game in multiplayer. Also we play it on Gamepass (i’m sure lots of people do) so that hasn’t even added to the sales.

If this came to consoles I would for sure double-dip. Physical cart on Switch for the collection and Digital on Xbox to go through and get all the achievements (how’s that for demand?).

For me; Final Fantasy VI is ‘the one that got away’ in that I have never played it (besides maybe 10mins on an emulator) and am waiting for the perfect version of it.

TTYD was SO good. Of course team Xbox loves it. It’s a great game. I feel like it’s unobtainable for a lot of newer gamers though due to rarity and price…. So yea Nintendo do a Microsoft and let everyone play it on their Switch’s too

Happy with the £36 ebay price I got. I’m surprised how quickly the special edition sold out though as I can’t see what is so great about it for that price. Maybe if it was £60 but £80? Maybe i’m missing something.
