Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (24th August)

Jeff2sayshi

I finished Yestermorrow just now, and really enjoyed it. It has some major frame issues (just pausing randomly occasionally) but I was able to look past it and enjoy the gameplay. Very little action focus, much higher platformer focus.

Also finished NUTS yesterday. It's an interesting walking simulator, but that ending was... disappointing.

Now I need to figure out what to play next. No shortage of choices, thinking Chants of Sennaar.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2023 - Our Most Played Games

Jeff2sayshi

1. Yoshi's Crafted World (45 hrs)
2. Piczle Lines DX 500 more puzzles (32 hrs)
3. Slime-San (24 hrs)

423 total hrs. I like games in the 5-10 hr mark generally. I initially thought Yoshi would fit that. But, oh my, that need to do EVERYTHING in that game drew me in. Don't regret it at all.

Piczle Lines is just comfort food I can come back to when I don't want to do any adventure style stuff.

Re: Nintendo Switch "Lifetime US Unit Sales" Surpass Xbox 360

Jeff2sayshi

@DarthFoxMcCloud @nimnio The N64 "Gimmick" Was the analog stick. I guess also that three handled controller thing, but honestly the analog stick was THE thing. So much so that Sony copied it and revised their controller for the Playstation.

I'd say the Gamecube was pretty much Gimmick free.

Re: Japanese Charts: Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Cleans Up

@johnedwin I think the PS5 increase is a huge story (as you said, heavily driven by scarcity last year to abundance this year), but i think a story that should be getting more attention is how down the Xbox Series is. I haven't seen a Series X in stores in a year and a half at this point. Meanwhile, Wal-Mart regularly has PS5s in stock.

Nintendo being down isn't really a story in its 7th April.Only down 18% is actually really good for this point in its life, as others have noted.

Re: Community: Have You Played A Great Switch Game We Missed? Let Us Know About It

Jeff2sayshi

Here was what I submitted:

1. Vengeful Heart - It's a cyberpunk visual novel. It's basically kinetic, with only one choice. But the story is absolutely amazing. It's not a romance, but a political sci-fi story with action centred around a group of 4 characters where water is privatized. It's a good length too, at about 10 hrs of reading.

2. Cleo - A Pirate's Tale: I picked this one up on a whim, as I liked the design. It's a point and click, with great voice acting, an engaging (and funny story) and puzzles that perfectly skirt the line of challenging without being obscure. Only complaint was the length at about 3 hrs, but it was a really fun 3 hrs.

Re: Mini Review: Melatonin – This Is The Rhythm (Heaven) Of The Night

Jeff2sayshi

@Nanami_Ataraxi Ah yes, I've got Lyrica too. Much less stressful than most other rhythm games. My biggest issue when playing it is I can't see through my hands!

I tried the demo for Mega Mix.... I want to get it one day. Project Morai (the 3ds one) is my favourite 3DS game.

Muse Dash and (especially) Groove Coaster I want to get but they're so expensive!

Re: Talking Point: The Mummy Demastered - Has A Better Game Ever Come From A Worse Movie?

Jeff2sayshi

Really loved the game. I didn't know there were different endings until I looked it up after beating the game. I only died twice. The first was at the very beginning when I didn't know what I was doing. Fortunately, I deleted that profile and started right over, the second was at the very end, which gave me the bad ending so I just reloaded and got the best ending. Finding the normal ending on Youtube wasn't easy.
