I'm curious to see if the price increase in Japan has an effect on sales. And, interesting note, Japan is by FAR the region with the cheapest price once the currency is converted. If It was about 10-15K more Yen like it is in the rest of the world, how would sales be?
Congrats on playing one of the best DS games (There are too many good DS games to have a single title claim the title of best). The Ouendan games, along with the original Rhythm Paradise on GBA, are the only Japanese games I've ever imported.
Without knowing what the other 3 games are, it's hard to say if these are good games or not, but the ones from Dec.... some were really really bad, but at the end, there were a couple good ones in Alder's Blood and Golden Force.
Inspector Waffles is a great choice! No really, play it if you like point and click games, or just adventure games in general. It's on the easy side, but the story carries it. And don't tell anyone, but it's like 15 cents in the Argentinian eshop.
@Silly_G I think it took me playing daily for a year to unlock all the content in Pokemon Picross. Sometimes I wanted to play a few more, but more often than not, it was the perfect amount daily. Especially once I got to the larger puzzles.
@Gofixmeaplate I'm in the same boat with SMT Devil Survivor 1 and 2. I have all the SMT games physical but my devil survivors are sealed and I don't really want to open them.
The rest of my Atlus games are open, so not worried there.
@nhSnork I just started playing Project X Zone this weekend, and that was my first thought too. I had JUST heard of this character (and series) for the first time.
I just picked up most of these when they were half price a month ago. But I'll jump on Nano Assault EX now. I didn't get that one, because I have the physical, but for $2, it's worth it for the added circle pad support. (which I'll also get to use with my new purchase of RE: Revelations.)
@HammerGalladeBro Yup, same 5% in gold coins for 3DS purchases. The only thing I'm not sure about is if that works if it's through the 3DS itself, or just the website. Make sure your NNID and Nintendo Account are linked.
@delt75 I mean, the original trilogy is a great place to start, but they're also on the Switch. Apollo, DD and SoJ are on mobile as well, but those prices... they're really solid.
@Dramlin I literally just finished The Turing Test this morning, which is Square Enix Collective, and it was great. So, yeah, each individual game needs to be given its own space. IT certainly looks like, though, Square is looking to monetize their main games as much as possible.
I did just pick up Steamworld Dig 2 at 80% off last week. But, the deals on the closing eshop have been underwhelming. Not surprising, though, if you look at how publishers didn't do sales on many games during the eshop run.
Well, I just completed Miles Edgeworth:AAI, so frankly I'd rather have a translation of AAI2. I will however be picking up the major DLC for the 3DS releases.
@blindsquarel If anyone gets back to you, please let me know. I'm wondering the same. The hard part to swallow is it's available physically in Europe, and is going for peanuts physically.
@Digitamamon64 If you search for a specific game you SHOULD be able to find it. I just bought Legend of Dark Witch and Steamworld Dig 2 for 3DS on the site.
Other games, though, aren't coming up at all. Seems to be hit or miss. I'm putting it down to being a new layout, as even the deals page for Switch is clearly missing at least 500 games when compared to the Switch shop.
For the North Americans in the thread.... Picross 3D Rd 2 and Rhythm Heaven Megamix. Sadly we did not get physicals like Europe. Same with Dillon's Dead Heat Breakers, though I haven't played it, and I'm not sure I can recommend a $50 game.
Also.. Mario vs. Donkey Kong Tipping Stars and Mario and Donkey Kong are on my must buy list before the shop closes.
Really hoping we see some publisher fire sales. I know Nintendo won't, so I'm pretty confdent I can buy those without any buyer's remorse if a sale happens.
So, the article needs a correction, because it reads as if the WiiU version sold 9.6 million, when it was the 3DS version. Still, though, almost 50% attach rate for Smash Bros on Wii U is insane.
Played 150 games (up from 137) (when you get games from the library, it's easy to just try a bunch of stuff... plus a lot of deep discounts) 563 hrs (down from 801) Top 3:
Piczle Lines DX (76 hrs) (yeah, I really like this puzzler) Super One More Jump (23 hrs) (the last few levels are devious, and then the kids like playing co-op with me) Deponia (15 hrs) (Probably about 7-8 on a first playthrough that I created a game breaking glitch in, that I didn't realize was game breaking and I couldn't progress through for a few hours.)
I still don't see why it's gaming the system. Do people really go to the top sellers page, see something there AFTER the sale and think, yup I'll pay full price for this game I've never heard of. Since these high discount games always fall off, I'm thinking no. End the $1.99 minimum NOA.
@Matty1988 I think there's something to this. So, I bought a PS5 in Nov with hopes of flipping it (Gamestop happened to have one when I walked in the door). Put it on FB marketplace and.... there are literally hundreds of them available. I don't think we know what the true market for this is, but I'm likely going to return the one I bought, as I haven't been able to flip it yet.
Has anybody noticed improvements to Joy Con drift recently? I had a right Joy Con drifting pretty poorly, but ever since the system update it's been stable.
Loved this game back in the day. I rented it, didn't finish it, and it convinced me to buy it. When I finally got to the point I was in the rental in my owned copy I found out I had been about 10 minutes from the end.
@BionicDodo I used to use psprices, but found dekudeals better for direct links to metacritic and howlongtobeat. Allows me to quickly see if a game is worthwhile.
Plus, by the time i found out you can sort by ending soonest on psprices i'd already switched to dekudeals for that exact sort.
To those that have said it's 90% shovelware, or even 99% shovelware, have you actually looked at reviews or anything for a lot of this stuff? There is a ton of quality. Maybe they're not all AAA, best game ever type games, but they are certainly fun.
Yes, there are asset flippers and shovelware pushers but that actually is a minority.
Yes, there are publishers like Forever Entertainment, Ultimate Games and Sometimes You who publish games which are all over the map on how quality they are, but that doesn't mean it's shovelware.
As many people said, I use dekudeals on a daily basis to see what's on sale and there is always something I want. Regardless of genre, there is something to play on the Switch. From Visual Novels, to platformers, to metroidvanias, to FPS games, ARPGs, JRPGs, Open World games. There is EVERYTHING. And that's without counting Nintendo.
@TheWingedAvenger Oof, I find that a hard take to get behind. I've tried playing Rayman 3D a few times, and the controls and the textures just make me quit.

So, for all the hate on Curse and Escape, I will still quote both of them at times with my brother as in jokes.
"Surely we'd avoid scurvy if we all ate an orange" - Curse
and
"But... it's pink" - Escape
Also, "it's El Pollo Diablo!!"

I think there's a story in here about Xbox Series X selling decently even in a week where PS5 stock was availlable.
Re: XIII Remake Is Finally Coming To Switch In September
If they give the game an ending, I may buy. If it's the same story, I'll just play the Gamecube version.

Re: Go! Go! Kokopolo Anniversary Collection Could Be The Last Physical 3DS Release
@EVIL-C Except the developer did mention Nintendo telling him there was a group of 4 final 3DS releases:
1. Andro Dunos 2
2. Fragrant Story
3. Looks to be Go Go Kokopolo
4. Either the Go Go Anniversary or something else.
