This is hilarious considering the creator of the series has gone on record saying that Yakuza Switch ports are unlikely because the Switch is "for a younger audience".

I'm torn. I'd love remasters of VC2/3 but I also want VC5 as well. The developers behind this series (MediaVision) are working on Last Defense Academy which will be their first new game in 7 years.

I'd wager it was the opposite. The movie was likely meant to drum up hype for BL4 itself. It'd make sense seeing as (not counting spinoffs like Tales and Wonderlands), the last proper Borderlands game--3--came out five years ago at this point so they needed to drum up some sort of excitement and marketing for it.

Just a shame the movie was so bad that it might actually hurt 4's sales.

Here's hoping Dark Ages actually releases on Switch 2.

With MK1 being their worst-reviewed game this is no surprise. The folks at the bottom always suffer losses before those at the top.

Yeah it's kinda surprising honestly. Kids love Nintendo and Marvel so you'd think it would've happened before now.

Maybe that's why Capcom waited for the Nintendo Direct to reveal this because they know Nintendo fans are the most likely to buy this since we've never had these games and kids are the most likely to jump on the hype train for Spidey and Mega Man if they play Lego Marvel and Smash on Switch.

The fact that MVC has actually never been on a Nintendo console before is especially what makes this notable. As a big fan of Spider-Man and Darkstalkers, I'm hyped that I'll finally be able to get into these games for the first time!

It's still ironic that Blackheart was playable in MVC1 and MVC2 but Ghost Rider didn't become playable until MVC3 and Infinite which didn't have Blackheart.

Bro got scared and left the series when Blaze showed up lol.

I'm gonna go buy this at launch to support them. I love the premise and gameplay structure. Shame that games like this and Unicorn Overlord cause developers to go broke.

After the absolute travesty that was MVC Infinite, it's nice to see both companies bring back the games in the series that are actually good.

Now it begs wondering if we'll ever get a modern port of UMVC3.

Sadly it's what prints money. Chasing trends is the current state of the industry. I wouldn't be surprised if this game shuts down within a year of its release like Omega Strikers did and I loved Omega Strikers.

Can't wait. Just hope they up the max ammo count back to how it was in 2016. Eternal's lower max ammo made the game sluggish in comparison. (In 2016 you had 60 shotgun shells at max but only 24 in Eternal for example).

Easily my favorite game in the series. Happy to see this.

Hope this means big things as far as ports go for the Switch and its enhanced model.

As others have said, I don't expect much other than ports/remakes/remasters to pad things out until the next big system arrives.

Would be a great time for that rumored Fire Emblem 4 remake.

They announced MP4 for Switch. No way would they suddenly tell nearly 150 million people they can't buy it.

Willing to bet Pokemon ZA and Metroid Prime 4 are going to be announced as cross-gen games for both systems.

Absolutely. I would love another game set in the same world but on a different continent with new characters like Fire Emblem Gaiden.

It's a great game and well-deserved. My only gripe is the lack of meaningful outcomes with the in game choices and that the main story missions are few and far between.

Other than that though, the game is amazing and it deserves its fame. 500K in one month for a tactical RPG that isn't Fire Emblem is impressive.

Nice to see UO still selling well on Switch even if it has dropped. This is normal for RPGs.

Switch version sold twice as much as the PS5 version and 5x as much as the PS4 version.

Not just that, but I'm also getting some Disgaea vibes (summoning troops from a base panel), Soul Nomad (units are grouped in tile-based arrangements), and even Valkyria Chronicles (real-time elements, capturing forts and needing points to summon more troops).

Doesn't surprise me at all that it's selling better on Switch. Nintendo seemed to be the only platform company that heavily marketed it to the point where the demo for UO launched on Switch first right after the Direct a day before other platforms.

Beyond that, Xbox and PS gamers are likely already preoccupied with recent big RPG releases such as Yakuza Infinite Wealth, Persona 3 Reload, and FF7 Rebirth. Since none of those games are on Switch, there's virtually no competition for Unicorn on this platform since Switch owners have no other major RPG to buy right now.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Switch version of UO sold best in all regions too. This system is probably the best place for smaller studios like Vanillaware to thrive.

Yeah not buying this until it goes for more than half off. I bought SMT V for 60 dollars. I'm not spending another 60 dollars on a story expansion for a game I've already played.

Make sure you don't buy Tactica, Reload, or Metaphor at launch. I'm almost certain they're going to do this lousy nonsense again.

Nothing that interests me personally. I'm disappointed by SMT V Vengeance being a separate purchase as someone who owns the original game already. They should at least offer it a reduced price if you have the original version. Not interested in spending another 60 bucks on the same game.

This is annoying. People who own SMT V should be able to just buy the new storyline separately...

Looks like Kirby meets WarioWare. It's a cool concept and I'm glad Peach is finally being allowed to do her own thing again. Even if this doesn't appeal to me personally, I'm hopeful for the future of the Mario franchise giving us more diverse ways to experience the characters.

Man I wish they'd do some amiibo to celebrate. Sucks how Fire Emblem amiibo has pretty much died in the post-3DS era (Smash notwithstanding).

I'd do anything for amiibo of the Three House leaders and the Four Engage Royals.

Engage was such a great game and a massive step up from Three Houses with far superior gameplay and map designs. Sure, the story was basic but the actual strategy RPG of Engage was so fun that I didn't mind it. Really excited for the future of the series because this game has set a high bar for Fire Emblem gameplay!
