I hope Amy especially gets a big push because Sega has a real problem with not giving their female characters the same spotlight as their male counterparts. Amy has always been the leading lady of the Sonic franchise yet for a while she was characterized only as an obssessive fangirl and only recently does she feel like a decent character. Not only that but other female characters like Cream, Blaze, and Wave don't get nearly as much publicity or care from Sega. That's why I'm glad the IDW comics introduced so many neat new female characters like Tangle, Whisper, Surge, and Lanolin. It needs a better balance.
So I really want Sonic Movie 4 to do well not just to help Amy shine but to also convince Sega that their female characters are just as important. I really hope they let her have a super form in the movie too since Origins and Superstars confirmed she can access it. She should be seen as an equal to Sonic and Shadow--not a sidekick damsel in distress. Plenty of girls love Sonic and should be able to see themselves reflected in this franchise.
@Greenspark Colors Ultimate and Superstars weren't received as well as Shadow Generations or Frontiers to my understanding. Sonic as a whole is still inconsistent.
Not interested in Minecraft. Shame they didn't actually dig deep because there's plenty of Sonic characters that could have been great in this game lie Mighty, Honey, Marine, Elise, Sticks, Chip, Zeena, and Infinite.
I want Sonic characters in my Sonic game but that's just me.
While I do want the Olympics to return, I would also prefer a full on RPG. If Mario can make a great one with the Rabbids of all things, I have no doubt a Sonic RPG crossover could be great as well.
I just really want Sage and Bowser Junior to interact and get to know each other in an official piece of media. I feel like they'd be great friends.
I genuinely prefer MKW's roster because it celebrates Mario's cast and eras with a bunch of skins for the major characters and minor enemies from across the series.
SRCW is boring crossover slop that feels like chasing the Fortnite trend instead of celebrating Sonic and I hate it.
Japan simply doesn't like Sonic. Izuka himself even admitted that he's fully aware that Sonic is more popular outside of Japan than inside. That's why they're adding characters like Hatsune Miku, Joker from Persona 5, and Ichiban from Yakuza to help get Japanese audiences interested.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have worked. Japan has spoken and Mario (Kart) seems to be the preferred choice. It's a shame because I like Crossworlds and find it on par with MKW but Sonic simply has less appeal. When it comes to animal mascot games, Pokémon pretty much has Sonic beat on that front too.
It's about time. All these years of hit-or-miss games and Sega has finally managed to make a decent Sonic game and fun Kart racer. I've played Riders 1, Zero Gravity, All Stars Racing, and Transformed. The Riders games always felt way better to me while the Sonic kart-racers felt like they were simply copying Mario Kart and lacked any real identity of their own.
But with the CrossWorlds demo, I finally feel the same joy I felt with Riders all those years ago. Between the ring portal system, gadgets, and return of Extreme Gear from Riders, this game actually feels like it stands on its own two feet for the most part (some of the items still feel like clones of MK. Green boxing gloves that bounce off walls while red ones home in on someone? Where have I seen that before...). But things like the Rival dialogue and character interactions make this game feel alive with characters who've never interacted before finally getting the chance such as Jet and Cream or Shadow and Blaze.
I don't just feel like I'm playing Mario Kart with Sonic characters slapped on--it feels like its own unique game and serves as the perfect companion game to Mario Kart World. Between these and Kirby Air Riders, this is probably the best time to be a kart-racing fan.
Granted, it's still very pricey and I don't like the DLC roster being non-Sonic characters with no voices but I can at least ignore those and pay only 60 for this game on Switch instead of the 70 it costs elsewhere.
@Roibeard64 It's kinda why Yoshi and Wario are considered separate from Mario characters in Smash. While they are tied to Mario in terms of origin, they pretty much have their own sister franchises now like Donkey Kong Country.
So it seems Nintendo is fully intent on considering Mario Run a mainline "Super Mario" game whether we like it or not.
Thus, Run is actually the first 2D Mario in which Daisy and Yoshi (as a standalone character) are playable. Wonder is the first console game to feature them playable but Run was still first in general.
Been playing so far and it's decent but the price and content/quality have me concerned.
CrossWorlds is 70 bucks at base and you only get 26 characters at launch and 24 tracks. Compare this to Mario Kart World which is 80 dollars yes but you get 50 characters, 30 tracks, and a fully traversable open world with lots of single player missions and collectibles to find. Even worse, the deluxe edition is 90 dollars and still doesn't offer as much content as MK World.
The gameplay itself is good but a lot of elements feel MK inspired (which isn't a bad thing of course) but I think both games can coexist since they have their pros and cons.
I'm also just not a big fan of the post-launch roster pandering to Nick characters. It's a Sonic game and I want more Sonic characters.
Lame excuse. Why even bother? At this point I'd rather they include more actual Sonic characters like Chaos, Tikal, Black Doom, Marine, Sticks, Infinite and even Elise instead.
Expecting us to pay 90 bucks for half of a roster with no voices is ridiculous. And people gave Mario Kart World shade for being 80? At least every character has a voice there. Shame on Sega honestly.
@Oldstalk Ngl I'm not a fan of the roster choices or the price. 90 bucks for a Sonic game for DLC that doesn't even have Sonic characters is disappointing.
I would genuinely take Mephiles, Infinite, and even Elise--yes, that Elise from 06--over all these crossovers I don't care about. I want Sonic characters in my Sonic game.
I think everyone is forgetting that this game uses Unreal Engine 5 which is rather beefy and is very difficult to optimize correctly.
To put things into perspective, one of the things that killed Multiversus was the sudden remaking of the game from Unreal 4 in the beta to Unreal 5 when the game launched. Doing so essentially broke the game and made it far less fun to play for those that enjoyed the beta version which (among other things) led to the game's shutdown. Unreal 5 simply isn't optimized well yet.
This is also why Borderlands 4 is only 30fps on Switch 2. It also uses Unreal 5 which is very taxing on the system. I'm shocked that Switch 2 is getting this DBZ game at all let alone Switch 1.
Man I used to enjoy this game but the hit detection and monetization kinda killed my enjoyment after a while especially with less people playing resulting in only high skilled players staying and making things tough. Nice to see it go on for so long but I imagine a lot of it is due to the anime and merchandising which was really popular in Japan.
I don't care what anyone says: watching Mega Lucario run alongside its trainer in the heat of battle looks so flipping cool and I'm not even a big Pokemon fan.
That and the Xenoblade-like battle system is a big plus. This may be the very first Pokemon game I play.
As a Xenoblade fan, I'm digging the real-time w/ dodging systems and Arts-like palette for the attacks. This might be the first Pokémon game I purchase.
Good Fire Emblem-likes are very hard to come by as they tend to lack polish. Hoping this is good because I've heard mixed reviews on the first. Until then I'm gonna wait for Path of Radiance on the GC NSO app.
And this is why we're likely never getting a new Mega Man game. Why bother when SF, RE, and especially MH sell boatloads. I imagine that, if it wasn't for Nintendo, Capcom would have likely chosen someone other than Mega Man for Smash Bros like a Hunter or Chris Redfield. It's a shame how little they care for the Blue Bomber.
Namco might wanna consider it soon. Street Fighter 6 has been appearing rather consistently on the eshop's best-seller list which shows that there is absolutely an audience for fighting games on this thing. With over six million consoles already sold, Namco is leaving money on the table by not putting Tekken on Switch 2. I loved Tag 2 on Wii U and would gladly buy 8.
They don't deserve praise. Rockstar is a multimillion dollar company and GTA is one of the best-selling game franchises out there. They should have offered a proper physical release of 20 year old games from the start. It's especially bad when RDR1 was fully physical on Switch. No excuse.
Congrats for doing the absolute bare minimum I suppose.
@Joeynator3000 It's not just EA. PopCap themselves have been in decline since the release of the second game. It's been well-documented by this point that the devs are not the same anymore.
Square being cheap and shady as always in order to get money from people as fast as possible.
Still waiting on actual Kingdom Hearts ports and not lame Cloud Versions. It's already bad enough that they didn't at least put 1 and 2 on the original Switch but there's zero excuse for them all to not work properly on Switch 2.
Mega Man feels like he's in the same place as Pac-Man nowadays but even worse. They're both advertisement mascots but at least Namco is giving Pac the occasional new game. Rock isn't even getting that.
Have nearly 50 hours in it so far. After spending nearly 1000 hours in 8/Deluxe across the Wii U and Switch, I'm so happy that I can finally move on from that and play something new. World is a huge improvement in nearly every way so I'm eager to spend more and more time in World. Can't wait for more updates and features!
I love Fire Emblem. Houses, Engage, FE7, and Sacred Stones were all great and I can't wait for Path of Radiance. Hope we get the next game announced soon!

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Team Open To More DLC: "Tell Us What You Want"
@Samalik
Based Neptunia fan. She and Nepgear are basically Sonic and Tails too when you think about it.
I'd also be happy with Freedom Planet characters since that game was a Sonic fangame at first. Lilac and Carol would look cool here.
Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Team Open To More DLC: "Tell Us What You Want"
Add more Sonic characters. I don't mind the Sega crossovers but the bland, lifeless DLC from Nick properties is a hard no from me.
I would genuinely prefer Princess Elise from Sonic 06 over any of those Nick characters. I'm here for Sonic characters--not them.
Re: Sonic Team's Boss Wants To Put More Sonic Characters In The Spotlight

The difference is that Ralph and Danica were free and Transformed wasn't 70 dollars with a 90 dollar season pass.

This game sat on the Switch eshop for years and gets shut down in just over one. Sad and shows the state of this trend-chasing industry.
Still lasted longer than Concord though.
Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Officially Reveals Mega Man Season Pass Collab
@Jamie64326
Smash isn't canon to Sonic's story and apparently this game is.
And we simply don't talk about Archie.
Re: Surprise! A New "Free-To-Start" Fire Emblem Game Is Out On Mobile Devices Today
Yeah this is weird with furry characters but I love it. Not sure how long it'll last though. Feels like an excuse to make more Heroes alts.

A shame they didn't do Roll. Wish they'd remember their female characters.

Re: Sega Reignites Its Nintendo Rivalry In New Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Trailer
This is like watching an anchovy try to pick a fight with a killer whale. Cute but we all know how it ends.
All joking aside, I love both games. About time we had a good Sonic racer again. I loved the Riders games and realy am only here for the boards.

Dark Deity 2. As a Fire Emblem fan, it's serving as a good filler game.
Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Scores Free Single-Player Demo This Month
