Still waiting on actual Kingdom Hearts ports. As a Smash player I want to know what exactly the big deal behind Sora and his games are but I refuse to pay for lame cloud versions. 🙄

Not sure if I want an Injustice 3 from them at this point. WB's gaming division has proved themselves to be woefully incompetent. Between MK1, Kill The Justice League, and Multiversus, absolutely nothing they've made recently has gone well aside from Hogwarts.

And it's telling which of these games was the most successful because Hogwarts is the only one of the four so far to be confirmed to have a Switch 2 edition.

Not giving Zarya a skin based on Marisa makes this a 0/10.

I can say for certain that Gaku's freakouts will mellow out rather soon. His character develops very early on because Takumi is there to listen to his problems.

And Darumi is someone you'll get used to I think. She's actually rather kind and willing to pull her weight despite her "Himiko Toga"-like nature.

Nice of them to shout out a much smaller release. Academy being a Switch console exclusive (and thus avoiding competition since EX33 isn't on Switch) has probably helped it quite a bit. Hopefully PS5 and Xbox versions release later when things are less hectic.

And I'm currently on day 30 and the game is fun. The combat is actually somewhat challenging and each character having different abilities reminds me a lot of Valkyria Chronicles 4. Media.Vision (the developers of VC4) worked on Academy so that's probably why.

Make Silver playable or no buy.

Really hoping this game does well. Tactical RPGs that aren't Fire Emblem need more attention.

Yeah I don't get all the hate for it. Fortnite is a big game and it's gonna bring in more Switch 2 owners especially with the improved performance from Switch 1.

Between Street Fighter 6 and Hitman WOA alone, this is the best 3rd party launch lineup imo.

The fact that a portable device is capable of mimicking PS5 games is astounding. Can't wait to get my hands on this!

I think the big thing that World has over 8 for me is the character animations and expressions. Even down to the character selection screen.

In 8, the characters are already sitting inside/on their vehicles on the select screen which means we never see them standing otherwise. The last time Mario Kart had a character select screen that had the characters animated outside of their vehicles was way back in Mario Kart Wii and even then, most of them reused animations from Double Dash's selection screen which means we haven't had new out-of-kart animations in over 20 years!

World bringing back the selection screen with each character having a little animation as they wait to be selected is so charming and cute! A lot of effort seems to have been put into this game and I can't wait!

The best acquisition Nintendo has ever made.

True but considering it's an Apple exclusive game, the vast majority of Sonic fans simply haven't played it and don't care.

Cream being up here is a result of her being absent for so long that fans are genuinely are excited to see her return. I also imagine a lot of people are happy that there's another female character outside of Amy, Blaze, and Rouge being brought back into the fray.

And again, she was playable in Riders but none of the car-based Sonic racers, so her fans are happy to see her finally racing in a car for the first time. The idea that she's "too young" or "can't drive a car" has finally been debunked for good.

Cream being 3rd may seem surprising, but it makes a lot of sense. Not counting that one Apple Arcade game, Cream has been absent from the franchise since Generations which is well over a decade old at this point. This is also her first appearance in a Sonic Racing game since Free Riders in 2010 (15 years ago!). It's abundantly clear that everyone's been clamoring for her return and this popularity poll proves it.

Hoping she permanently returns in all Sonic games going forward. Cream was always one of my favorites.

Yeah they may be part of the "Xeno" franchise, but each series is its own franchise essentially. Not to mention that Square and Namco still like to pretend that Gears and Saga don't exist for the most part.

My personal ranking is:

1. Xenoblade 3/FR
2. Xenoblade 2/Torna
3. Xenoblade X
4. Xenoblade 1

1/DE's combat is the weakest but has the best story pacing, X's combat is some of the best, but has the least interesting story, 2's combat, world, and characters were my favorite of the series though the pacing is very slow at the start, and 3 overall has the best mix of everything but some of the worst villains ever.

Still my favorite RPG and Nintendo franchise though.

Star Wars fans cannot catch a break with recent online games. Between the awful BF2 remaster and this, I feel bad for fans of this franchise. Limiting the release to Switch and mobile also didn't help. You can't compete with a system that already has Splatoon, Fortnite, and Overwatch playable on it.

And yeah as others have pointed out, it's so funny that this game has been listed on the eShop for longer than it will have been playable.

This game is officially in a worse state than Overwatch. Literally the only thing keeping it alive is the fanart of the characters. Utterly despise how they treated Mike Z.

I love it. As a Xenoblade fan, this is the first time that a Pokemon game has looked appealing to me (outside of Pokken and Unite) so I might give this one a try as my first "mainline" Pokemon game.

As a Wonder Woman fan, I'm so upset by this. The fact that the most iconic female superhero still doesn't have her own video game or animated series is just plain wrong and WB should be ashamed of themselves for mistreating such a beloved character. There's more to DC comics than just Batman. :/

Okay the fact that Extreme Gear is its own playstyle has me sold as a Riders fan. I'm in.

As a big fan of NIS games, I'm sad to hear this. I hope his family and everyone at the company can take time to grieve. Their games always made me laugh during sad points in my life and I appreciate their work. Rest in peace.

I'm just glad Unicorn Overlord is up there! Easily the best Switch RPG of 2024.

I just want Heroes 2 with a Blaze/Marine/Silver team.

Considering games are especially expensive in Africa, Oceania, and other Asian territories like the Middle East and South Asia, this is very impressive. Switch has managed to break into markets that other companies have struggled to for years now.

It's amazing how Xenoblade once went completely unknown with NOA initially refusing to localize it because they assumed Western players wouldn't be interested in a JRPG to now having a massive cult following thanks to its amazing gameplay and unique English dub thanks Nintendo UK handling the localization for the main trilogy. Having Shulk and Pyra/Mythra in Smash also helped a ton.

Now it's to the point where Xenoblade 3 was nominated for GOTY at The Game Awards, making it one of two JRPGs to ever have this distinction. The other one? Persona 5. That's how big Xenoblade is now.

Those are shockingly low numbers for a Sonic game. Especially compared to Call of Duty. Really hope Sega doesn't write it off as a failure because I want more characters to be playable in Sonic games again.

Finally we have a date! Can't wait to play as my favorite SNK team!

Cool but can we talk about how Daisy's new VA crushed it as well? I can barely tell a difference.

And people wonder why Sakurai said we're never getting another Subspace Emissary story mode for Super Smash Bros. This is exactly why.

I hope their engine gets put to use in other Nintendo games like Pokemon and Star Fox. It would do wonders for those IPs.

That aside, I can't wait to see what they do next. Every single Xenoblade game has been a banger. I just hope the next game goes back to having amazing villains like Xenoblade 2 had. The Moebius weren't as good as Torna.

Happy 25 years to my favorite gaming studio of all time. Pyra and Mythra are still my favorite female leads in gaming to this day. Can't wait to see what they have in store for the next system!

But seriously, their company name says it all. They are quite literally a mill that pumps out licensed games of questionable quality just to get people to buy them. They're practically wearing it in their sleeves. May as well be called, "The Game Company of Questionable Quality."

I see Level-5 got its announcement skills from Atlus. They revealed this game way too early and now I'm concerned that there will be no hype by the time it actually releases. Shame because I was excited to play this...

So happy to see this. It's proof that new gaming IPs in 2024 can be successful. Here's hoping they make a sequel.

You're missing out then. The Rabbids' mannerisms are actually completely toned down to the point where they act almost like regular people in the shape of rabbits. The gameplay is honestly so much fun and immersive that you almost forget what you're playing.

Doubly so in Sparks of Hope which features voice acting for the Rabbids characters as well as Edge who doesn't even feel like one. It's absolutely worth playing.

I see. Well all I want in a fighting game is an easy time to smack the AI around with flashy moves. I play Smash Bros offline solo for this reason because going online in fighting games is just not fun for me. I play the Capcom Collections and UNICLR the same way.

It sounds like Strive at least has a decent amount of characters to keep me busy but I think I'll try XX first to see if I'll enjoy it. Thanks for the tip. I really only care about Baiken tbh. I had never heard of GG but I know her and she's beautiful.

Yeah unlike some companies that release old games at nearly full price (looking at you Rockstar with RDR) Sega seems to be the only company that cares about pricing their older games accordingly. Persona 3/4 and Valkyria Chronicles 1 are older games published by Sega and they're only listed at 20 dollars on eShop as well. They're rather good about this.

Meh, I'll take it. Considering it's just 20 bucks instead of a full 60 it's better than not getting Yakuza at all.

I don't care either way since I don't play fighting games online. I'm very much a casual player that's perfectly content with fighting nothing but the CPU 100% of the time. I enjoy Smash and a bit of the Capcom Fighting Collection but I don't go online.

Strive looks fun and hopefully there's a decent amount of offline single-player content.

Blessing in disguise honestly. Players on other platforms won't be impacted by Switch players on Wi-Fi and Switch players won't be curbstomped by people who have already been playing Strive for 3 years.

It's a win-win.

Nice. Always good for more female characters to be on the roster. Girls (and guys who want to play as girls) deserve to have more options when playing.
