Re: 'Can You Use Labo VR Goggles For Virtual Boy Games On Switch?' & Other Nintendo Classics VB Questions Answered

HammerGalladeBro

Is the app now available? It's not showing up on the Mexican eShop. Well, at least not on the Nintendo Store app. Didn't bring my Switch to work to download it from here.

if it indeed doesn't show up, did Nintendo really regionally block this app and made it available only to accounts from regions where you can buy the VB replica or the cardboard version? If so, looks like I'll have to settle for the Japanese version of the app.

EDIT: Turns out that indeed it's not on the Mexican eShop. What the hey? Talk about a lack of communication, nothing in what Nintendo said implied you couldn't download in regions where they don't sell NSO items.
A lot of Mexican resellers will have a field day with this.

Can anyone from other countries confirm it's not listed on their eShop?

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Gen 4 Pokémon?

HammerGalladeBro

This is another no contest, look at my username and you can tell my favorite Gen 4 Pokémon (as well as my favorite Mario character that's not Mario himself).

Other Gen 4 favorites of mine: Empoleon, Froslass, Poké Goku Lucario, Roserade, Glaceon, Porygon-Z, Dialga. All of which I used as my main Sinnoh Pokémon in Pokémon Battle Revolution and sadly are now trapped in Pokémon DS Purgatory, aka GenV (yeah, I missed getting Pokémon Transporter on my 3DS while I could).

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Gen 3 Pokémon?

HammerGalladeBro

This one's a no contest, Big Axolotl (Swampert) is my absolute favorite from Gen 3.

With that said, there are a lot of Pokémon I love from this generation: Sceptle, Gardevoir, Mawile, Zangooze, Aggron, Flygon, Corphish, Milotic, Frieza's head Glalie, Rayquaza.

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Gen 2 Pokémon?

HammerGalladeBro

Feraligatr, Scizor, The WalkFurret, Ursaring, Porygon2, all of these are my favorites from Johto.
EDIT: Forgot about Misdreavus as well.

I think I'll go with Furret, mostly because during my playthrough of Round 1 and a bit of Round 2 of Pokémon Stadium 2, Furret was a bit of a lifesaver. An MVP, if you will.

Honorable mention goes to Slowking, particularly the one featured on the second movie.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (14th February)

HammerGalladeBro

Last year, I spent my Valentine's weekend with Samus Aran. Now, this year's Valentine's weekend I'll spend it with Sonic and Fox*.

Yesterday I got CIB copies in very good condition of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and Star Fox Adventures. Still have my original save file from Sonic, but Star Fox's I do not.

I haven't played SA2B in almost 20 years, I used to own it but lent my original copy and got lost thanks to a "friend". Played a bit last night and I still think it controls better than any of the recent Sonic games when you're running.

SFAd I haven't played in almost 23 years, but the performance of the Shopkeeper by Steven Brand has lived rent-free in my memory all those years, particulalry the line "Put that down! You don't have enough Scarabs!".

*And yes, that may sound wrong, but I promise it's not for the weird stuff you'd expect from the former's fandom.

Re: Square Enix Reveals Save Data Bonuses For Its New HD-2D Game

HammerGalladeBro

These save data bonuses can apparently be claimed at "any time", even if the save data for one of these titles is created after starting the Adventures of Elliot. As for the length of this promotion, it's taking place at the time of "release" but this does not guarantee it will be a permanent distribution or service, according to Square Enix.

So, this is Square Enix's answer to Pokémon's Mystery Gift?

Re: If You Like Paper Mario's Newest Entry, This Nintendo Music Update Is For You

HammerGalladeBro

My top 10 in no particular order
-Thrills at Night
-My Heart's a-Burnin' (I'll never forget that curveball the Shy Guy game show threw at me with the "censored" lyrics, both in text and a beep where the word was supposed to play, despite having no verbal singing)
-Snif City
-Event Battle
-Exploring Shogun Studios
-Sweetpaper Valley
-Olivia's Bench
-Autumn Mountain Battle
-Red Streamer Battle
-Sea Tower - 2nd Floor

Regardless of how you feel about the gameplay, almost everything else in Origami King (and dare I say, Color Splash) is top notch.

Re: PSA: No, Yacht Club's New Game Isn't Coming Out In 2030 - eShop Date Just A "Placeholder"

HammerGalladeBro

@Johnny_Arthur that's weird because there was a time SEGA AGES Fantasy Zone was listed on the Mexican eshop for 10 Mexican pesos (about $0.50-$0.55) and it did let me buy it at that price.

Meanwhile, there's a game called NYAZ ~ OPERATION: OCCUPY HOUSE OF KOBAYASHI ~, which on the Mexican eShop is listed at a whopping 18,420.00 MXN (about $921) and had a sale on January that matched the period in the US. So i think this is a mistake on Nintendo's Mexican end.
It is by far the most expensive game on the Mexican eShop, according to Deku Deals, whereas on the American one is only about $10.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy Library With Two More Titles

HammerGalladeBro

@AlienX To add to @KingMike comment, had Balloom Fight GB had a proper physical release, I imagine they would've used this image from the game's official website as the box art.
Untitled

EDIT: I take it back, it seems like it did get a physical release of sorts.
Apparently this was released on July 31st, 2000 as a pre-written cart. Then on August 1st, 2000 it was released on Nintendo Power kiosks to be written on said carts.
Untitled
Fun fact: Balloon Fight GB can still be played on a DMG Game Boy and on the Super Game Boy, complete with custom borders.

(Consider this my cartridge art contribution for a hypothetical Box Art Brawl)

Re: Nintendo Will "Carefully Consider" A Switch 2 Price Increase, Says Furukawa

HammerGalladeBro

This year I made the promise of saving money for nothing in specific. More as a test that I can save money if I really mean it.
If everything goes according to plan, I may have money for a Switch 2 and then some by the end of the year. I didn't intend to get one that soon, but if price does go up at least I want to be covered.

For that to work, I'm sorry gaming, you're the first entertainment expense that will take the toll.

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Fails To Meets Sega's Expectations

HammerGalladeBro

My nephew has the Switch 1 version and made me play with him on multiplayer on the holidays, I believe it was during the NIGHTS launch weekend.
I somehow felt it got boring rather quickly since we were playing to get goods from the event and not for fun.

Having tried the open beta on Switch 1 and not liking its controls, I have no desire to play it in this moment. Maybe on a heavy discount.

Another problem I have with the game is how much its menus feel taken directly from live service games. For a moment I thought I was looking at Disney Speedstorm, another game that had potential but its nowruined by how monetized it is.

With that said. No, I haven't played Mario Kart World, so I cannot give an objective opinion on whether it's better or not.

Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Nintendo Direct: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?

HammerGalladeBro

Hope they eventually make Hugh Morris an actual Mii character, kind of like Erika from Miitomo or Matt from Wii Sports.

As for this Direct, I'm glad the important question Miis themselves have been asking... Of course I'm talking about "When is the game coming out?", now with Aliens also asking.
One thing I didn't see in the Direct was the Giant Female Mii that was called.

EDIT: I'm just realizing the game has an ESRB rating of E, I would've expected it to be E10+.

Re: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Moves In On Switch 1 This April

HammerGalladeBro

Those weird TTS voices are what really get me, good to see Miis still speak like they did in Miitomo. I guess I can start with this game while I still find a copy of the 3DS game and hopefully a copy of the unlocalized DS game.

With that said. Remember when that seemingly major bug on the 3DS game gave the unintended effect of gay marriage and people complained when Nintendo patched said bug, not the idea of gay marriage itself, and that they should've left gay marriage on the game (also seemingly at the cost of keeping said bug)?

Now they do LGBT+ representation on the base game of the Switch follow-up and people complain it shouldn't be there?

I'm sure that incident on the 3DS game played a role here.

Re: Feature: 11 Of The Strangest Game Over Screens On Nintendo Consoles

HammerGalladeBro

Metroid Prime 2. I think I've said this before, but that one is a bit more extreme than other Nintendo games given the context that not even the more serious Nintendo characters really die (at best they just faint), but here you clearly see Samus face through the visor before the game tells you she's having a heart attack then dies.

If you die in Morph Ball, it blows up in your face without a trace of the light that represents Samus before proceeding to show you the aforementioned heart attack.

That game is the only one that legit makes me feel bad for the character if I get a Game Over.

Re: Ren & Stimpy Are Getting A 7-Game Retro Collection, Courtesy Of Limited Run

HammerGalladeBro

As someone who never watched Ren & Stimpy*, I have no nostalgia for any of these games. Big maybe if I ever give them a chance, unlike the games from the other Nick collection.

*as far as I can remember, Ren & Stimpy never aired on Nickelodeon here in Latin America. Instead it aired on MTV, a channel I had little to no interest in back then other than short glimpses of Beavis & Butthead.
