Re: 'Scurge: Hive' Spreads Its Isometric, Metroid-y Retro Virus To Switch This Week

HammerGalladeBro

This game got my attention when I saw the announcement article in Time Extension back in May, but for that price? I think I'm gonna wait a bit.

Not to sound like I'm whining, but I'm legit curious why it's more expensive than other retro releases by Ratalaika. If it has both the GBA and DS versions? Sure, I'll take it at that price, but if it's only the GBA version I'll wait a bit. Maybe after Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

Re: Poll: So, Did You Get Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 For Switch?

HammerGalladeBro

Not yet, but eventually I will.
Yesterday my package of the Marvel vs. Capcom collection arrived, so I will be busy with that. Then I'm awaiting another package with Itadaki Street DS, which should be here next week. After that it will be the launch of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

If I have any considerable amount of money after it and the dinners for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, I'll be ready for the physical collection.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Teleroboxer (Virtual Boy)

HammerGalladeBro

A little more context for the cover arts.
From my understanding, Teleroboxer is a 2-human and 2-big robot sport. The human controls the robot, that's why there's a human next to the robot in the Japanese version. They're the main characters, while the American cover is one of the opponent robots.

The robot is called Harry and it's the only Virtual Boy representation in Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Spirit, apart from the VB itself on the Gamer stage.

After defearing a robot, you can see the human controlling it. But I believe Harry and his human are never shown in-game, I might be wrong on that last part.

Re: Review: Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Switch) - Still Out Of This World

HammerGalladeBro

@SillyG Thanks a lot.

...there are plenty of physical releases that spawn separate icons for the included games.

That's the reason I'm asking, I'm afraid my progress on the digital version couldn't be used on the physical release if it were just one icon.
I intend to get Galaxy 2 digitally at first, then get the physical copy if I come across a cheap one in the future.

Re: Rumour: A Bunch Of LEGO Games Might Get The 'Switch 2 Edition' Treatment Soon

HammerGalladeBro

Count me in for LEGO City Undercover, if only to make it more stable.

How is it that on the Wii U (unpatched, I might add) is far more stable than on the Switch (with at least one update currently under its belt)?

I don't even care about loading times, just make sure the Switch version doesn't crash during normal gameplay, something that didn't happen to me on the Wii U. That's all I'm asking for this one, on the Wii U it's easily top 5 for me, but on Switch it's more of a dread experience since I don't know when/if it will crash.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library With Two More Titles

HammerGalladeBro

I don't know if it means anything, but I'm currently updating the GBA NSO app and decided to casually try to update the other NSO apps just to see if there's any other minor update or if the remaining apps change from "Nintendo Switch Online" to "Nintendo Classics", and to my surprise the SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis one is updating.

Or it could just be a past minor update.

Re: Surprise! A New "Free-To-Start" Fire Emblem Game Is Out On Mobile Devices Today

HammerGalladeBro

Played a bit, feels like a decent time waster, however I've graduated from Fire Emblem Heroes, not sure if I want to go back to it or try this new one. Not to mention I'm running out of memory in my phone.

With that said, what's up with the protagonist? I mean, its their allies refer to it them as a prince (i.e. masculine) but it they looks* and sounds a little feminine.
My immediate reaction was the same as Profeasor Oak: Are you a boy or a girl?

And no. That's not an attack and I'm not offended, I only feel confused about that protagonist. Maybe if I play a bit further (or when more content is added) I'll get an answer about its their true identity.
And yes, I probably had to state it wasn't an attack

*Please spare me on this conjugation if it is wrong.

Re: Sonic Adventure 2 'Live And Learn' Lawsuit Dismissed, Crush 40 Musician Issues Statement

HammerGalladeBro

@Krisi Not really the best examples, since those are/were Nintendo employees, while neither Johnny Gioeli nor Crush 40 are/were employees of SEGA. Only Jun Senoue is.

Creating a song for a game doesn't necessarily means the publisher owns it, as far as I know, there are Xenoblade 2 songs that Nintendo doesn't own. I believe the music in the Culdcept games is owned by its composer, Kenji Ito. The late Koichi Sugiyama owned the music of Dragon Quest, now that he's passed away (and for some time now) I believe his estate manages the rights under the name SUGIYAMA KOBO.

Even SEGA had this problem in the 90s, remember they don't own the music in Sonic 1 and 2, instead Masato Nakamura owns it, also the whole Michael Jackson debacle in Sonic 3. You'd think they'd learn from that to not use external composers, but apparently also His World (the theme song of Sonic '06) and Endless Possibilty (from Sonic Unleashed) also have copyright issues, meaning SEGA doesn't fully own them, or at least the vocal versions.

A better example would be if Grant Kirkhope tried to claim the rights of the DK Rap from Nintendo or the Banjo-Kazooie theme from Microsoft.

Re: WWE 2K25 Online Shutdown Date Revealed Just Months After Switch 2 Release

HammerGalladeBro

This is the Global Version of Live! School idol festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE! all over again.

In case you don't want to open Twitter (I refuse to call it X), let me quote what it says:

【Global Launch Notice】
We are excited to break the news to you that the global version of Love Live! School idol festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE! is launching soon in February 2024.

However, we also want to inform you that, the Global Version will close its doors on May 31, 2024, and cease in-app purchases accordingly.

We appreciate the love and support you've shown, and we're committed to making these last few months an unforgettable moment.

Yes, at the same time they announced the international release, they also announced the date it would cease. At least this game's online will last longer than 3 months.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Checking Out Switch Online's Virtual Boy Service?

HammerGalladeBro

I'll of course download the app. Now, whether I can play it on the TV or not, that's yet to be seen.

If not, I'm not too worried because I'm sure non-expensive alternatives will be made for those of us who cannot get the shell or the cardboard version so easily since we live in countries without My Nintendo Store.

Worst case scenario: I somehow mod my Virtual Boy to allow the Switch to be inserted.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Yoshi Touch & Go

HammerGalladeBro

I never noticed the "Touch Pen Action" above the Japanese logo. I like both, but for different reasons. With that said, I'll go with the western cover.

This was the first DS game I bought back in early 2006, when I remember having the options of either this one, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (which I got years later) or Chibi-Robo! on the Gamecube. In hindsigh, I should've gotten Chibi-Robo!, but I also got my money's worth with Yoshi Touch & Go.

Re: Another Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Collab Appears To Have Been Revealed

HammerGalladeBro

Keep in mind, this game's DLC is almost as bad as Sonic Superstars. We have:

  • Free DLC via updates (the SEGA characters, immediately defeating the purpose of the advertised SEGA crossover)
  • Paid DLC (the third-parties and Nick characters)
  • Digital Deluxe Edition exclusive DLC (the Sonic Prime characters)
  • Pre-order bonus (Sonic the Werehog)
  • SEGA Account DLC, the evolution of the newsletter subscription DLC (the Blue Star Extreme Gear)

This one is slightly better, just slightly, because at least it doesn't have DLC associated to a third-party reward program like the Comic Style skins from Kroeger or the IHOP Amy, the latter thankfully became available to everyone later on.

I didn't enjoy much the ONT, so I will wait for the Switch 2 version and heavy discounts.

Re: Anniversary: Celebrate Unova As Pokémon Black & White Turns 15

HammerGalladeBro

If they were to remake them, I'd like them to do Black 1+2 and White 1+2. Kind of like a whole continuous story with a timeskip (access to Black 2/White 2) as soon as you beat Ghetsis in Part 1 and where your decisions made in Part 1 are reflected in Part 2.

If possible, I'd also like a Legends game that explores the foundation of Unova and the events that led the full dragon Kyurem was along with Reshiram and Zekrom to be spliced.

Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Surpasses 2 Million Units Sold

HammerGalladeBro

@MTMike87
"BS! It's a sign its fail of a system is collecting dust in shelves. Wii U 2.0 NINTENDOOMED!"

-some random on the internet, probably.

In all seriousness, I agree with that notion, I know that by the time I'm ready to get one it will be available. I wish I could say the same about Mario Kart World, I haven't seen a single copy in stores in my city since launch.

Re: Nickelodeon Splat Pack Revives Multiple SNES Titles In One Retro Collection

HammerGalladeBro

@KingMike Oh, trust me I did own Rocko back in the day, a $4 used game from Babagge's (before they became Gamestop), I don't think I ever made it past Level 2.

In its defense, back then I didn't see it as a puzzle platformer. With that in mind, I'm willing to give it another chance, especially with the Rewind function. Though that will be when there's a sale on the digital version, I just hope it's available for more than 10 months.
