@Charlirnie
Battle Network has the better gameplay in my opinion, there's a lot more customization available and there's a reason why it's more popular of the two. The 3x6 grid movement allows more freedom and complexity in battle.
Star Force has a much different battle system where you can only move left to right and lock onto enemies to attack. Its a fun battle system but a clear downgrade. The series really shines is the charming characters and has a better story than Battle Network.
Overall both are great but Battle Network is the better series but Star Force is very underappreciated.
@MontyCircus
The metacritic score is misleading, the Star Force games came out during the time of Mega Man fatigue where Capcom had just finished the Battle Network series then immediately went to Star Force. So reviews during that time were a bit unfair.
These are solid action RPGs and in my opinion the most underrated Mega Man games out there that the core fanbase never played.
To me A Link to the Past and Super Mario World will always be tied as the best Nintendo games of all time.
The Fire Emblem selections feel a bit too safe in my opinion. Awakening is a great game and same with Three Houses. But I feel Fire Emblem 7, Mystery of the Emblem and Genealogy of the Holy War are notable ones that didn't make the cut due to being Japan only.
The voice acting is fine but I still feel that a dubbing studio like Side UK would had been a better choice since having Americans try to attempt UK accents is still jarring to me and sounds unnatural.
I still think the biggest selling point of the Switch 2 is the portability factor. Yes there's more competitors now but Nintendo handhelds have traditionally sold very well. The hybrid concept just works and even now I still love the flexibility. Plus add the fact that's it's fully backwards compatible with the OG Switch made it a no brainer to upgrade right away.
"Bananza is brilliant, but it's not a Mario". I'm not a big Donkey Kong fan but Bananza was such a fun game and I thought it was better than some of the mainline Mario games. The game is pure joy
This is coming from someone who has never played the original games, so far I give it a 9. It's pretty cool to see the Grandfather of RPGs get a modern remake but staying true to its roots.
Going to pick this up once I get through Cyberpunk. Been looking forward to playing some old school JRPGs. Hopefully Dragon Quest IV - V and VI get the same HD Remake treatment after this.
Like many people have already mentioned Xbox has been flopping since the launch of Xbox One. Microsoft is a different company than Nintendo as they don't solely focus on gaming. Their approach to gaming makes me as a consumer to want to stay away from the brand. I bought a Series S and regret it.
To me Xbox has an identity crisis, it's not really console focused anymore and isn't really a 3rd party developer. The whole brand is a mess.
With Nintendo and Sony there's a clear direction on what they're trying to do.
Usually the NES Classic, hacked it and installed more games to make it worth while. I still own my original NES but it's a hassle to hook up to modern TVs. Switch Online is also really convenient as well if I'm feeling lazy.
Yes to both questions, it's long overdue for Pokemon to have voice acting. For me it just feels weird to have a cutscene with no voices especially when you compare it to other big JRPG franchises.
This thing costs $1,299.99 CAD, there's no way I would ever pay that much for an Xbox handheld which already has a weak library of games. Great for people who are interested in it but this is a hard pass for me, if I was gonna spend that much I'd rather just get myself a high end gaming PC.
Gonna pass, the newer Pokemon games have left me disappointed since the 3DS era. Arceus was decent but wasn't enough to draw me back in. I need to see more evolution from Game freak (no pun intended). Plus the CAD price is $99 for the Switch 2 version and I'd rather spend my money on the upcoming Metroid Prime 4.
Still chipping away at Dragon Quest 3 Remake, it's been fun playing through this for the first time. I haven't played many games in this series but I just love the old school fantasy tale these games have and intend to play more games in the series after I'm done this.
I'm a bit surprised there is no Switch 2 version of this, especially since Koei Tecmo has had a close relationship with Nintendo for a while you'd think they would have Dev kits to make a Switch 2 version.
I've never played an Atelier game before but might try em out one day but for this year already has a stacked line up of games.
To each their own, I played Cross Worlds and didn't find it to be better than MKW. Am I biased? Probably since I was never a Sonic fan and never cared for any of the games or characters. Not saying Cross Worlds is bad, it's a fun racing game and if people think it's better than MKW then that's fine.
I might had considered buying this if they included all the DLC since it would give me a reason to double dip. The game is already available on other platforms for more than a year at cheaper prices.
The price is expensive but man I'm probably gonna take the dive again since I love the Mario Galaxy games. Out of the two games I still prefer Mario Galaxy 1 since I liked the setting a lot more with Rosalina having more of a role.
Galaxy 2 is amazing but I agree with what Alex says the starship Mario is kinda boring when compared to Rosalina's starship.
I might hold off a bit before buying though, thankfully so far this isn't a limited release like 3D All Stars and let's hope it stays this way.
Feels like there was barely any marketing for the Switch 2 version of this. I haven't seen many talk about it and the Nintendo Direct only briefly highlighted the game.
It's on my to play list though but I'll probably wait since my gaming budget will go towards Metroid this year and the Dragon Quest Remakes along with Silent Hill to end the year.
Gonna miss watching Zion's videos and I always liked how he gave time to talk about lesser known games like Famicom Detective Club. Best of luck moving forward!
@topsekret Relax you made your point. All I was saying was some PS5 games that are physical don't contain the full game and act similar to a key card. No need to go on a tangent.
1) I never defended the practice of key cards 2) As I mentioned I get why people are mad, I only said it doesn't bother me
@Bobobiwan Says it's 17 GB on the Nintendo eshop. I'm considering buying the Switch 1 version if there's an upgrade path but Square hasn't announced anything for that so I'll probably pick up the Switch 2 version.
@topsekret
Not all PS5 games have the game on the disc is what I meant. Look at Indiana Jones for example where it requires you to do download the game from the PSN store. Many third party games on PS5 do this.
I honestly don't care about the key card thing but I get why people are mad even though Sony has been doing this with PS5 as well.
Gonna pick this up after beating 3.
Yes I understand why PS5 games install from the disc and I understand the situations aren't identical. But some physical games don't contain the full game which requires a download in which the disc is a soft key card. (I own a PS5)
I finished the Kirby Star Crossed World DLC which I thought was pretty fun and now I'm diving into Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake on Switch 2.
This is my first time playing Dragon Quest 3 and I'm loving it. I've been meaning to play more Dragon Quest games and with the remake of 1&2 plus 7 on the horizon I thought it would be the perfect time to start.
I feel bad for these people since I've been let go due to outsourcing in one of my previous jobs. It's an awful feeling knowing that you're going to be replaced.
I'm a new fan to the series, played 11 first and diving into 3 HD Remake currently. Can't believe I waited this long to play this series, I can see why people love these games.
@eldersnake I felt the same way, everything just feels like a chore. The repetition after you die just got boring for me and I quickly lost interest. I'm happy for people who love it but to me it's no where close to Metroid or Castlevania.
I tried to get into Hollow Knight but the back tracking and difficulty just got annoying for me so I dropped it. I understand why people love the game but it just isn't for me.
I already have 3D Mario All Stars so no need for Mario Galaxy 1. 4K is a nice upgrade but ityt not enough to justify the premium price for both games. I'll be getting Galaxy 2 though
I didn't even know this was announced until now. This is great news! The Star Force series is such an underrated series, it had a charming cast of characters and the battle system was pretty fun. Will definitely pick this one up.
@SillyG Engage had the much better gameplay. Even though I love Three Houses it had lots of issues. The social sim aspects at the monastery slowed the progression to a snails pace at times.
Time for me to spend a ridiculous amount of time playing Fire Emblem again. We still don't have the remake of FE4 which is a meme at this point but a brand new game is even better!
Also I don't think this means the FE4 remake is dead. This looks like it's being made by the same team that did Three Houses which was developed by Koei Tecmo, while Engage was made in house by Intelligent Systems. So I honestly believe the FE4 remake is being developed in house while Koei works on the new game.
I feel this list is way too early to even be talking about and like many have said Silksong at number one is ridiculous lol It's good but way overhyped.
If we're talking about Switch 2 only games DK Bananza is number one for me so far. The system hasn't even been out for a year yet so lots of time for this list to change.
Playing through the Kirby Star Crossed Worlds DLC and it's been fun returning to the game after a few years. I'm also thinking of playing Hollow Knight, bought the game years ago but never played it. With all the hype around Silksong I think it's time I try it out.
Also playing Mega Man Battle Network 4.5 Operation for the first time. For those who don't know what that is it's a battle network spin off that never left Japan but got an English patch a few years ago.
This is just a rumour so let's see how this plays out long term. Sony is doing terrible in its home market of Japan which is dominated by Nintendo, this to me would be a response to that and an attempt to get a foot hold there again.
I would be interested to see how Sony tackles a hybrid console and honestly I'm not surprised if they make one since the video game industry is a copy cat business.
Would I buy a Sony hybrid console? Maybe, I loved the PSP and thought the VITA was a waste of money with no 1st party support.
Nintendo has proven that people love hybrid consoles, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony take a shot at this.
I played this back in PS4 and loved the game. I might pick it up again for Switch 2 but can't say I'd pay full price again since I already own the game along with the PS5 upgrade.
I'm surprised so many people here changed the controls. I got used to it very quickly and went with the default controls. Maybe it's because I was used to playing platformers on GBA where the A button was the jump button. The A button to me has always been the more natural jump button in my brain for years.
I was holding out for a price drop for the PS5 version but might pick this up if it ends up being a good port. I love the old Indiana Jones films and been wanting to play this game for a while now.

Re: Microsoft On Its Gaming Business Going Forward: "We Want To Be Everywhere"
I find it ironic he mentions innovation when Microsoft is the least innovative console maker in the gaming industry.

Also this is a random thought but seeing the path Xbox has taken makes me wish they never took Sega's place in the console gaming industry.
