I don't really have a main but I usually pick Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy or Yoshi. For costumes I like the sunshine outfit for Mario, the touring outfits Peach and Daisy, Luigi I usually keep the default look and Yoshi the aristocrat outfit.
Final Fantasy 16 isn't a bad game I honestly really liked it when I played it on PS5. It does have some major flaws though since It's not an RPG and I do think the game tried to be a bit too edgy at times. The lack of playable party members was a bad decision as well.
On a side note I'm loving how Square Enix has supported Nintendo consoles the last few years.
I unfortunately missed the boat for the GameCube even though the system was part of my generation growing up. As a kid I had the PS2 but always wanted the GameCube but my parents couldn't afford to buy another system and I was just a kid so too young to get a job.
Glad Nintendo has finally given us a way to play GameCube games now though. Hopefully we see expensive games like Pokemon Colosseum and Path of Radiance added soon.
There's still two Mega Man franchises that haven't gotten the Legacy collection treatment yet from Capcom. Legends and Star Force are the only ones left.
I was shocked how much Nintendo hid from everyone until today. Having Pauline as a side kick to DK is honestly a perfect idea that I never thought about and it's gonna be fun to see that dynamic between the two. Also I find the TLOU reference was spot on, this is more my vibe.
The game looks really fun and I can't wait to play it.
For me I have mixed feelings about the game. The first half of the game I thought was excellent then it loses steam and becomes a chore to finish near the end. The twist is interesting sure but the way it's executed is poorly done in my opinion by forcing the player to refight bosses and becomes a grind.
Mario Kart World for me, still trying to get first place in all the Knockout Cups and it's surprisingly giving me a hard time but having a blast playing the game. I haven't bought any other Switch 2 games besides the upgrade packs for Zelda but the new Rune Factory is in on my wishlist.
Another game I was playing before I got Mario Kart World is Mega Man Phantom of the Network. For those who don't know it was a flip phone game released only in Japan but to my surprise it's a full Battle Network experience albeit it with some limitations.
Xenoblade Chronicles really is a special game. It came out during a time where the Wii was starving for an epic JRPG and has cemented itself as a major Nintendo IP. I'm very excited to see what Monolith Soft can do with the series on Switch 2. They always push Nintendo systems to the limit and I expect nothing less from them.
The voice acting business really is a thankless job. Anime and Video Games in particular replace English VAs all the time. Sucks to see Samantha Kelly thrown to the side after voicing Peach for almost 20 years. She might not be the original voice of Peach but when I think of Princess Peach I always think of Sam Kelly's version of the character.
My basic thoughts are this, it's very comfortable to hold and doesn't give me hand cramps unlike the PS5 controller which I really don't like the feel of it.
I honestly don't care about it not having analogue triggers since I never felt that it really effects gameplay to begin with.
All I really care about is if it's comfortable and has good build quality. The Switch 2 Pro Controller checks all those boxes for me.
To be honest it never bothered me, maybe it's because I've become so used to lag playing old games as a kid that a few frame rate stutters I just brush it off.
Will be nice to have a more smoother experience on Switch 2 though.
I look at it as a long term investment. Yes the Pro controller is expensive but if it lasts as long as the Original pro controller (which still has no issues after 8 years for me) it's worth the cost then.
I'm gonna hold on to my Switch since the Switch 2 doesn't have enough internal memory to import all my digital games so for that reason alone the OG Switch is going nowhere for me. The cost to buy SD express cards is too high still so I'll be using the Switch 2 primarily for Switch 2 exclusives.
I've played all the Metroid games and honestly I liked Other M when I played it back then. It's a fun game but obviously there are major flaws. I liked how Samus wasn't a mute robot, in the 2D games like Fusion and Zero Mission we got to hear Samus' inner thoughts. Other M pushed the boundary by having her speak which I thought was kinda cool. Now they reverted her back to saying nothing which is a step backwards in my opinion.
Finally beat Xenoblade Chronicles X last week and it's a great game with some flaws. It's definitely my least favourite of the 4 Xenoblade Games, without spoiling anything the epilogue felt rushed in my opinion and the cast of characters aren't as memorable. With saying that it's still really good.
For this weekend I'm going back to my roots as a gamer and replaying Battle Network 3 via the Legacy Collection. It's just as fun as I remember when I first played it back on the GBA as a kid.
Thinking of replaying Mario Odyssey when I get the Switch 2 in celebration of Mario's 40th anniversary. The upgrade will be nice to have for an already great game
Still chugging along with Xenoblade Chronicles X. The game is great but I definitely have some issues with the game particularly the affinity missions which can be misleading with the level recommendations and locks you in until you finish the mission. Other than that it's a fantastic game.
I've been saying this for a while now but it's a shame that Konami has zero interest in localizing Tokimeki Memorial. I can understand the reasoning back then but times have changed. People love their dating sims whether they like to admit it or not.
Many games use dating sim elements like the ones listed in the article: Fire Emblem, Persona, Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, Rune Factory, Mass Effect, etc. Sure they're not pure dating sims but there's clearly a market for Tokimeki Memorial to succeed in the West.
I would definitely give the remake a shot since I enjoy visual novel type gameplay and it just looks like a fun game to try out. It's disappointing that even in 2025 Konami is still afraid to localize this game.
I have never played these games before but always heard good things about it from die hard fans and fans of the RPG community. Will definitely pick this up but probably won't jump into these until I beat Xenoblade Chronicles X
I don't see them talking about DLC right off the bat but I'm pretty sure they will announce it down the road. It's a given based on what we saw happen with MK 8 Deluxe where we got DLC years after the game came out.
I do think there's a chance since there's demand for it still. I don't think having the Switch Online version will effect WW HD to be ported over, since we also had the original version of Link's Awakening plus the remake on Switch
At this point I wanna the 3DS versions of OoT and Majora's Mask to be ported over too
Xbox has struggled for years since the 360 days, I wouldn't be too concerned about it impacting Switch 2 sales. But it's a neat device for anyone who loves the Xbox brand. Personally I have no interest since I really only care about Nintendo, Sony and PC.
The HD era was a tough transition period for a lot of Japanese companies that were playing catch up to Western developers. It kind of caught many of them off guard, Nintendo being a huge example of that with the Wii lacking HD capability.
Keiji Inafune even infamously said Japan's industry was dead which is hilarious looking back now since Japan has caught up and is creating amazing content again. I don't think Nier Automata saved anything personally but rather Japanese developers have caught up with the HD transition.
@B_Lindz The game is less story driven when compared to the other 3 Xenoblade games. It puts more on an emphasis on exploring and side quests. That's not to say the story is bad though, in fact it's very good and interesting. If you love sci fi then X is a great game to play.
If you want more of a traditional JRPG experience I would recommend starting with Xenoblade 1 or any of the numbered ones. These ones have more of a story driven experience similar to Final Fantasy and Persona.
I haven't beaten the game yet or even close to it but so far I give it a 9/10. Compared to the other Xenoblade games it definitely focuses more on exploration and side content. But the story is also pretty good so far and looks beautiful.
A few cons I have is the affinity quests where you have no option to cancel them until you complete it. It also can be overwhelming with how expansive everything is too.
I don't doubt AC Shadows is a good game but like with any Ubisoft game it's never worth buying right away since there is going to be a big price drop in the future.
On a side note glad to see Xenoblade X at second. Having a blast right now playing it for the first time
Honestly I probably wouldn't buy P3 Reload for Switch 2 unless they added an extra incentive like adding the Female protagonist.
I already beat the game on PS5 but hopefully Atlus supports the Switch 2 from the get go rather than wait like they did with the Original Switch to port Persona.
Ya I'll probably wait until they announce a Switch 2 version or wait and see if the PS5 version goes on sale. In the meantime I'll be diving all my time into Xenoblade Chronicles X.
After playing all three recently I can say for myself personally that 3 is my favourite. The story and characters had me totally invested in the game. 1 is a modern classic and 2 is great but I felt that it missed the mark on a few things compared to the others.
Nah I'm gonna pass on this. The only one worth playing in my opinion is Gunvolt 3 which felt like a Mega Man Zero game in a good way. The first two I thought were very mediocre action platformers, I hated the tag system and how slow the combat felt.
This is a tough one since the Switch has such a deep library of games. I went with Three Houses since it's the game I put the most hours into during the Switch era and my favourite from the Switch library. If I had to make a personal top 10 list it would be:
1. Fire Emblem Three Houses 2. Zelda Tears of the Kingdom 3. Zelda Breath of the Wild 4. Super Mario Odyssey 5. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 6. Smash Bros Ultimate 7. Metroid Dread 8. Kirby and the Forgotten Land 9. Super Mario Bros Wonder 10. Emio the Smiling Man
Finally they added my favourite Zelda OST to the app. So many Zelda musical staples came from this game, like the fairy fountain theme, Zelda's lullaby and so much more.
I'll be putting most of my gaming hours in Xenoblade Chronicles X. Really looking forward to playing it for the first time ever. Same goes for the Lunar Collection which I also plan to get.

Nope but I was able to pre-order from Amazon Canada. Hasn't been cancelled so far in the last few weeks and hoping it stays that way

Nope, the best Buy site and GameStop site crashed on me several times. I still have hope with the My Nintendo invite but we'll see

Re: Community: Which Switch 2 Games Are You Wishlisting?
Metroid Prime 4 tops my list, the wait has been a long time for it. Then Mario Kart World Tour, DK Banaza and Kirby Air Riders.
There's a lot of great 1st party titles coming out the first year of the system, I might wait a bit but will definitely be picking up a Switch 2.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th February)
Been playing Langrisser 1&2 Remake or Remaster if you wanna call it that. The game is honestly pretty good, I can see where the Fire Emblem comparisons come from after playing it. I still much prefer Fire Emblem but Langrisser has been a fun time.
Biggest complaint I have is the game looks like a mobile game. It also feels very cluttered when you add mercenaries which makes getting through some maps a chore.
