I'm gonna pass on this one. Pokemon just isn't a series that gets me excited anymore even though I loved it as a kid. The fact that Gamefreak still hasn't added voice acting to a modern game and still can't make a Pokemon that runs well is baffling. Cool if people are excited for it, just not my cup of tea.
@UltimateInkling Ya I was disappointed that Byleth only has 4 supports in the entire game. Would be great if they added a few more for them in all three routes.
On a side note hearing Byleth actually talk made me wish they didn't make the character silent in Three Houses.
@UltimateInkling Same, I wonder if we'll get DLC to add more classes like the War Cleric or a side story like Cindered Shadows and some quality of life improvements where we can change the background music on maps.
This game really does feel like it was intended to be a anniversary game for the series seeing that we're getting legacy characters come back into the spotlight.
I love me some Fire Emblem, really looking forward to this one.
After spending 100 plus hours playing through all three routes I never ran into any bugs. Really had a fun time playing Three Hopes, it's the best Warriors game out there along with Age of Calamity.
@Otoemetry Well I can't say much since that would spoil everything for you. But the basic plot of the game is essentially about a group of teenagers trying to change society in a positive way. To do this they go into a dream like world where they change a wicked person's heart by stealing their "treasure".
I maybe didn't sum that up the best but the story is interesting. I would say give it a shot, a friend of mine who isn't even into JRPGs ended up loving it.
@Duncanballs It's definitely not for everyone. I personally loved the game but it's a huge time investment to playthrough and the story tends to drag on a bit more than it should.
@Nanami_Ataraxi Exactly. The 3DS Pokemon games ran into framerate issues too. Gamefreak has no clue with regards on how to optimize the games. Unlike Monolith Soft who have done a fantastic job with optimizing their games on Nintendo hardware.
I bought this game years ago on 3DS but never got around to beating it. I'm terrible at puzzles but after playing the Ai Somnium Files games it's motivated me to try out the game again.
Hard to believe Mega Man is turning 35 this year. The series is still going through a bit of a dry spell with Mega Man 11 being the only brand new title released in the last 5 years but I have enjoyed seeing Capcom releasing the old titles as compilations.
Besides the BN Collection I'd eventually like to see X make a return in X9 or a Legends HD remaster of 1 and 2.
@Serpenterror Ya it's a shame they're not remastering the GameCube version which was 60 FPS and was the better than the PS2 port even though that version had a bit more content bonus wise.
@Ryu_Niiyama I would be shocked if the game was poorly optimized for the Switch. Atlus already has experience with the hardware with SMT V and Tokyo Mirage Sessions.
Plus this is basically a port of a PS3 game so I don't think performance will be an issue.
Ya I'm leaning towards not buying them. There isn't really much incentive for me since I already own two versions of Twilight Princess, one for Wii and Wii U. I also own the Wind Waker remake for Wii U.
Knowing Nintendo they're gonna sell these at full retail price. As much as I love Zelda I think I'll pass unless there is a big price cut at some point.
@JeanPaul It's a pretty fun beat em up, has a bit of RPG elements where you level up and unlock new attacks. Shredder's Revenge is better but River City Girls should be a fun time for you still.
Whether or not Sony thinks PC is a competitor doesn't matter, modern FF games are still available on a different platform besides PS.
If the entire FF series became Sony exclusive I say that's a huge loss for everyone who doesn't support PS. Imagine not being able to play FF6 on future Nintendo consoles? But anyways the main point I'm trying to say is that it's bad if Sony owns Square Enix. I was using FF as an example since it's their flagship title.
If Sony owns Square Enix or became part owner then a huge chunk of iconic IP's are no longer available.
@SuperPotato316 FF7 Remake is available on PC now, yes it was a timed exclusive but it's still available on a different platform. FF15 was multi platform, same with the 13 series. I doubt 16 or rebirth will remain PS5 exclusives for long.
The last thing I want is for Sony to buy Square Enix or be part owner. It would be a loss to the gaming industry if FF, DQ end up being Sony exclusive.
On a side note I really like the design of Grusha, she actually has proper winter clothing compared to Candace who was wearing a mini skirt in an ice cold gym.
@farrgazer I did the same thing with my Genesis Mini, hacked it to put the sega games I wanted on it and it can run CD games too. I'm gonna pass on this.
The game looks like a flash game found on new grounds in the early 2000's and yes I get that the game was made on RPG maker but for a game to look like this is pretty bad. No way I would pay money for this.
However I do respect Kaga, some of the best games in the series were made by him like FE3 and FE4. He is the creator of the series after all.
I haven't played or watched anything Digimon related since I was a kid. It seems interesting though. But with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Fire Emblem Three Hopes still occupying my free time I'll wait until this is on sale.
I honestly could never get into the Azure series. I played the first 2 but always felt that the tag system was tedious and slowed down the flow of gameplay. People compare it to Mega Man Zero or ZX but it really doesn't play like it at all.
It was fun for a while but like with any gatcha game it becomes incredibly boring and the gambling aspects of the game can be dangerous if you're the type of person that has a hard time with self control.
Pretty sure we're gonna get a mainline direct later in the fall or late summer since Nintendo hasn't announced anything for the last quarter of the year yet besides Pokémon. We also still don't know when Advance Wars is gonna be released.
Also I'm interested in seeing what 3rd party games they plan to announce. Persona has been heavily rumoured for years and it looks like the rumours this time could be true.
@BlackenedHalo That's not a bad thing if it's done well. 13 Sentinels is mostly a visual novel mixed in with real time strategy gameplay and it's great.
I'm biased and I want a Battle Network Collection at some point. Or even more Mega Man in general would be nice like X9. More Ace Attorney would also be great as well.
I still have my Wii U, don't really use it anymore but having it around is handy when I want to play Wii games or GBA virtual console games. It still has exclusives like the HD Zelda's (for now at least) and Xenoblade Chronicles.
I recognize some of those VAs. Brian Drummond was the original voice of Vegeta and Shannon Chan-Kent plays Misa Misa in Death Note. Looks like Ocean Studios is the one handling the voice acting.
Ya this is over 15,000 CAD if converted from USD. That's more than a semester at university lol I could buy a car with that money, no clue why this statue is so expensive.
Good to see Kirby selling well, Forgotten Land is such a fun game and I really enjoy it.
As for Triangle Strategy 800,000 without digital numbers is still very good for a niche genre. Remember games like Valkyria Chronicles 4 struggled to even get to that number which was multi platform. So I say that it's a success.
I own 4 of those mini consoles and my favourite of the bunch is the Snes classic. Hacked it and it's become my favourite way to retro game. Had a blast playing through the Snes Fire Emblem games that I loaded onto it.
Still have this game along with my PS3 slim. Haven't played it in years but I remember it being a fun little hack and slash. Not a game I would go back and play but it had its moments like pulling down a star destroyer
@Ear_wiG They're not related but both franchises share the same creator: Tetsuya Takahashi. So in a way you could say Xenoblade is a spiritual successor even though the games are completely different.
I remember Awakening wasn't even announced at E3 and Reggie just casually mentioned it was gonna get localized. I don't think Nintendo had much hope for it but turns out it was the game that saved the franchise.
As a long time fan of the series I always imagined how cool it would be to have the series gain some recognition and when the series finally broke through I was thrilled to see it have success.
Awakening may be divisive amongst long time FE fans but I personally still think it's great. My friend became a huge fan because of it. Great to see it become a Nintendo staple now.
@Royalblues Those are valid complaints for sure. Most anime/games get dubbed in either Texas or LA nowadays to save money. So it's refreshing to have a Dub that isn't the same like always.
@SwitchVogel I really need to sit down and play it one of these days but keep forgetting about it. I've owned a physical 3DS copy for a couple of years now but keep on putting it off.

Seems pretty cool, I like the pixel art of the game, will probably check it out then.

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think Of The September 2022 Nintendo Direct?
I'm pretty happy with what they showed, got Fire Emblem and Zelda so that will keep my Nintendo craving in check.
But still disappointed that we haven't heard anything about Metroid Prime 4, at this point it's safe to say the game isn't coming out anytime soon.
Overall though I liked the Nintendo direct.
