The only video game so far has been getting my attention this weekend, is Lies of P on PlayStation 5. I am loving the more linear focus, and the characters that you meet over the course of the game are very memorable, with a pretty interesting overarching story. The timing of a dodge mechanics, and how to perform perfect parries took a little getting used to after playing Elden Ring, so far this game has been a joy. And I also think it's probably going to be the only game that I'm going to end up playing this weekend. Happy gaming everyone!
The game definitely deserves it. I personally still haven't beaten the game yet, even after putting 155 hours into it simply because I end up getting bored by the time I get to the next key part of the story. I probably should just try to go straight to the objectives that will lead me to a conclusion rather than going around and trying to complete a lot of the side content.
There's just too much for me to deal with and explore with the time that I have available to me, but I have had quite a few memories made, and great experiences in the game. I just can't see myself ever bringing this game to full completion, I think it was sour my opinion of the overall game. I more or less had to do the same thing with BOTW, but that game didn't have a bunch of sky areas, and the depths below to deal with as well. It was a lot easier to manage. There is plenty of incredible content for those that want to stick around to see it all though.
When creating new things, everyone seems to pull inspiration from somewhere. This is no different. Knowing the source of the inspiration though, can lead to some pretty interesting facts. It kind of helps you get into the mind of the people that made some of your favorite games.
I mean, I totally get it. Sometimes you don't know how useful an item that you have is until you actually have a situation to where you would be able to take advantage of it. That has happened to me countless times, and when you buy those extra accessories, or systems that you think you may never use in the circumstances that you bought them for become useful, it can be a pretty awesome feeling, knowing that you don't have to go out and buy anything else to make it work. Sometimes life events can create new opportunities for ways to enjoy things.
It's definitely one of those games that I never got around to playing. I only had a select catalog of Nintendo 64 games when I was a kid, and even though we had plenty of opportunities to rent Nintendo 64 games from my local store, I never really had much of an interest in a snowboarding game. I may give it a go on the Nintendo 64 app, but I honestly can't see myself spending a whole lot of time with it. I think the time for me to get addicted to a game like that, it has passed. It is definitely a critical piece of Nintendo's history though, and fans really should have gotten a new one by this point.
Reading the opinions of others around Christmas time does do my heart some good, especially whenever we have such a light-hearted, and friendly group here on Nintendo Life. There were a ton of great questions presented in the letters, and a lot of great responses given out. I really appreciate articles like these. It can definitely do the heart good.
At the very least, thanks for the memories. All good things to an end at some point, and due to our current technological age, its time has passed. I am glad I was able to experience an E3 with my brother while I still had the chance. Those are memories I will never forget.
I thought it was a cool moment though it did not evoke the same emotions that older Zelda entries gave me. I think the lack of necessity for the Master Sword most of the time diminished the experience.
I didn't even watch The Game Awards, but I certainly agree that the primary focus should have been on the developers, and not on side content and trailers. This was a baffling decision considering its namesake.
The votes for this one is overwhelming. The North American variant takes the cake for good reason. The image quality is sharper and has almost all of the same features as the Japanese variant, but in a more controlled, concise structure. I voted for that variant as well.
It is just about guaranteed that I will be playing primarily Elden Ring on PlayStation 5 this weekend. I still have many bosses to fight, weapons to collect, and places to explore. Happy gaming everyone!
I feel like the North American variant has a more refined and polished color palettes o I voted for that one. This is certainly a close call in terms of wcotinf though! It is nearly split down the middle!
I am primarily just waiting patiently for Dragon Quest XII. I adored Dragon Quest XII and I cannot wait for the newest entry. The franchise as a whole is my comfort food of gaming. The impeccable and memorable soundtrack, interesting characters, and innocence abound keeps my soul happy.
Regardless of what it may be, I always enjoy hearing about new things from Sega. I enjoy the company's vibe as a whole, and even though I do not play all of the franchises they have under their belt, I do appreciate what they bring to the gaming industry.
I have been begging for a new Banjo Kazooie game for so long, that I honestly don't know how much faith I have that a new one will live up to the expectations of the franchise's fan base. Video games as a whole are different than what they were back in, and even though 3D platformers have had some stand out moments the last few years, I don't know if they could create anything that would be able to stand out against the golden pedestal that the first Banjo Kazooie is on. Pretty hard to live up to.
I have recently started my first playthrough of Elden Ring on PlayStation 5 this week, and I have been having a blast with the game. I didn't think I would like it quite as much as I do now, and it has helped me appreciate the souls-like genre a ton. I may also sprinkle in some God of War Ragnarök but I have been pretty addicted to the former. Happy gaming to everyone this weekend!
I kind of expected this considering Sonic Frontiers was a completely new vision for the franchise as a whole while Sonic Superstars is more similar to previous entries which can be off putting to some, especially considering it is a 2D Sonic game. I certainly want to play it though! I also think Sonic Frontiers released at a time where there wasn't a stacked year of releases like there is this year. Tough competition!
@HalBailman Haha. I am glad at the very least you are enjoying those games! I have been slowly transitioning to different gaming experiences which may be why I lose interest quickly. Regardless, they are still quality titles, and I am glad for F-Zero 99 in particular simply because it brings in a whole new audience to the F-Zero franchise. If something like this helps bring the possibility of a new F-Zero remake or entirely new game to fruition, I am all for it.
@HalBailman Thank you for the information. It still doesn't sound like something I am interested in though. I do appreciate your explanation, but F-Zero has never been super exciting to me, unless playing it side by side with family or friends. I was barely able to get a couple hours of play out of either Tetris 99 or Pacman 99. I think the only game similar to either of those that I actually enjoyed was Super Mario Bros 35, and as everyone knows, that was a limited time release. Games like F-Zero 99 for me, are good in very small bursts, but don't have much staying power. They don't tend to hold my attention for very long. And also, F-Zero 99 is specifically listed as part of the Battle Royale genre, so at the very least , it has quite a few similar elements.
I figured it was only a matter of time before they starting doing that. Just like fan-made Super Mario YouTube videos are now including Super Mario Wonder elements.
I never really expected the game to be a hot seller to be honest. I consider it pretty lucky that we received a remake of Super Mario RPG in the first place.
I still haven't even touched this game. I am just kind of done with most Battle Royale types of games right now. And I have never been an enormous fan of F-Zero though I do like the series.
This particular topic has been popping up all over the internet, and opinions on the subject are all over the place. For me, it is pretty cut and dry. I don't consider Dave the Diver indie due to the publisher overseeing the development studio. At the very least, this is bringing some additional buzz to the VGA, which is good or bad depending on how you look at the situation.
I personally wouldn't mind more, though I don't really need them. I already have a million other devices that have that capability, and those will always be my first pick over a new console for streaming apps. I guess I shouldn't say always though, life events could sway me in one way or the other.
For me, it is definitely the North American variant this time. The color palette is so far cool, and I love the characters designs. It would be a unique box to have in your collection.
His ominous introduction is absolutely one of my standout character introductions in the history of my gaming life. I'll never forget meeting him and discovering his evil intentions when I was so little. Those days are a distant memory but every time I am reminded of a video game from my youth, a long forgotten memory reappears and graces my presence. This was another one of those.
One thing I do appreciate about the Wii U generations is the level of creativity and innovation Nintendo had to implement into the Wii U to entice people who were confused on what a Wii U actually was. We saw some pretty creative ideas introduced thanks to the Wii U gamepad. It was also one of those controllers that was far more comfortable than you would think despite its size. While it wasn't my favorite Nintendo console by any means, I do appreciate its place in Nintendo's history, and I can see all kinds of cool details and stories coming in the future when the system is barely a memory in most people's minds.
For the scarecrow song, when I was a kid, I was always trying to create an original sounding song that felt like it belonged in Ocarina of Time. I did that not only because of the catchy tune, but also because it was easier for me to remember the song of it was catchy, and it felt like I was adding my own little piece to the game, which felt pretty cool as a kid. I couldn't bring myself to just make the simplest song I could.
I could actually be interested in this series with a 3D art style. I haven't been into 2D games lately, and I think a 3D version of this type of gameplay could be pretty interesting.
I will be primarily playing God of War Ragnarok on PlayStation 5 and perhaps some Fortnite dabbled in. I have already completed all tiers of the battle pass for this season so there isn't much else to do in terms of progression rather than just playing the game. God of War Ragnarok has certainly been fun though, and seeing the relationship between Kratos and his son deepen and twist at different point sin the plot has been a fun experience.
They certainly struck fear in the very depths of soul when I was a kid. I was genuinely scared when encountering them while trying to get one of the songs in Ocarina of Time. (The one that turns the world from day to night). After getting that ability, I was much less afraid of them. I will always remember that fear, and that memory was brought back to the surface thanks to this article. Thank you for unlocking another buried memory.
I would say that I both loved and hated the water temple in Ocarina of Time. I think that it had some amazing, morable elements plus a few confusing elements that as a kid, I struggled with at times. I still love the temple though. And it stands as one of the best water temples I have played.
This is pretty darn awesome. One of my favorite videos games of all time. The soundtrack is practically unbeatable and the game as a whole was way ahead of its time. I can't find too many faults with this game. Especially loved playing co-op with my brother when we were kids. Great memories.
I don't believe it does, though it sure would be nice. The game is timeless either way and as far as I am concerned, the 3DS remake was more than enough.
@JohnnyMind Exactly. Previous Mario Kart games had more staying power in terms of single player, though to be fair Mario Kart as a whole has gotten stale over the years for me. It would take a quite a bit of innovation to get me excited for another entry.
I mean, the game had a heck of a run, it was bound to fall off eventually. I personally have been patiently waiting for the next entry in the Mario Kart franchise ever since about 2 years after Mario Kart 8 originally released on the Wii U. I only play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch with my family. I can't stand to play it anymore by myself.
