I only have ONE news story (Great Sky Island Tips) in the ToTK channel.

At 130+ hours in and guessing 90-95% of the story complete (Im close to completing the final regional phenomenon) I'm not ashamed to say that I've just started using the OG duplication glitch here and there (I stopped the game from autoupdating when I heard about the first wave of patches).

At this point in pretty much any game Id expect to be powered up to the max and not have to worry about running out of certain items, but this is clearly not the case.

My main bother with this is Zonite - throughout my entire playthrough I've held off building wild and wonderful contraptions as I didn't want to waste my devices etc.

I want to be free of that now. In a game with almost unlimited creativity options, I don't want to be limited by resources this late into the game.

Plus the depths are (imo) not that interesting and I have already spent hours upon hours mining for zonite and picking flower bombs etc - I'm so done with it.

Haven't I earnt the right to just have fun with the game at this stage?

@KingdomTears yes.and everytime I see those kinds of so-called-debates I think of https://xkcd.com/386/ and try to do the opposite. The goal is to have fun and enjoy our short time on this planet (yay gaming!), not spend it arguing about the “right” way to play.

I totally agree with you about the depths not being very interesting. What a wasted opportunity there...I guess that's why they didn't advertise them at all.

@ATaco yeah it's weird huh? Just found the whole thing extremely repetitive, like there's basically no variety, especially compared to what's out there on the ground layer. Think I have completed about 25-30% of the underground and just have no calling to go back

I'd like to repeat that this gift is available to anyone who has completed a minimum of ONE shrine, and maybe even less. Someone could have just exited the ultrahand trial, only a quarter done with the tutorial, and you all want that person to be handed a flipping diamond after the devs spent so much time balancing the game? These little things are big enough.

I’m 90 hours in and I’m liking this game less and less
This is really exactly what I feared after that first trailer and I’ll never forgive NL for giving me hope with that 10/10 review

There's another dude in here who's been posting non-stop complaining about the game, yet was talking about 100%-ing the game. I don't get it. If I don't like something I just walk away from it and move on...plus I'm sure other sites gave it a 10 too, can you never forgive them?

@WiltonRoots Because I enjoy some parts of it and I’ve always been a huge Zelda fan. So I’ve been pushing through, hoping I would find out what it is that everyone loves so much about it. It’s a perfectly decent game, because BotW was a masterpiece and this plays exactly the same. I love many things about it, but those were all in BotW already. So I’m just extremely disappointed in the way they handled this. I honestly don’t see how it adds anything to the BotW formula.
The biggest difference for me is the crafting, but that’s infuriating most of the time.
People are saying the dungeons are the best additions, but I never missed those with the divine beasts.
It was a huge mistake to re-use BotW’s Hyrule.
I’ve done all the sky islands and the incredibly repetitive depths, but I avoid Hyrule. It’s just a lot more of the same.
Another huge issue is the performance. It’s fine in some parts, but becomes really annoying in fights with more than 3 enemies.
I just expected a lot more creativity after such a long wait.

You cannot objectively give this game a 10/10 score when you’re writing a review. It’s ok for user scores, but a site like NL has a responsibility to stay as objective as possible and to talk about any issues that are clearly there. A 9/10 would have made it clear that it’s not perfect. Nobody can say this game’s perfect and call themselves a journalist.

@PinderSchloss Fair enough...horses for courses I suppose, but as I said are all the other sites wrong as well? Me personally I'm loving it more than BOTW, for me it's like revisiting somewhere after 5 years, as I didn't touch it after finishing the DLC...I've picked up highly rated stuff on here that I've been disappointed with (Smash), but I wouldn't hold it against the site and constantly post my disappointment, I just move on.

@WiltonRoots I’ve thought about this a lot, because it IS a great game. Just not as a sequel to the game I already spent hundreds of hours with. It’s almost like TotK continues trolling the people who got all 800 Korok seeds and did every single thing in BotW. I would probably feel different if I had just played through BotW more casually.

I think every site that gave it a 9/10 is not ‘wrong’, but the 10/10 ones certainly are.
