Loved OT1, though I didn't see the final ending, really liked OT2 up to a point, because I didn't like the characters as much as the first, but I love town building so can't wait to start playing 0.

It would be awesome if somewhere down the line the cap on building stuff is upped a little, but I won't complain. I will just keep my tiny village tiny. Which is fine. Looking forward to playing it. Will be the first game I am going to be playing a lot of since ages, Vampire Survivors notwithstanding.

Are these browser games? Because I have never ever heard of any of these before. They look good, though!

Japan has had some stinkers too, but this isn't one of them. The US one is lovely too, and on the one hand I really appreciate the different outfit, but on the other hand... at the end, a small win for Japan for me.

I cannot get over that intensely ugly red border on the S2 carts. Could be reason enough to go digital.

I hate modern Street Fighter. Oh well...

As much as I love RE4, especially from a gameplay standpoint, the series pretty much already jumped the shark, or giant fish monster in RE4's case, in their storyline right there.

After that, they just continuously seemed to double down on the sillyness. 7 felt like it got back to a more gritty, realistic vibe, but then Village turned up the notch to a 1000.

I am kind of done with it. It used to be more serious, bar a select few boss monsters.

Tough one. JP is nicer in many aspects, ecxept for Samus being positioned so oddly.

@Froid12 Yeah, I know. I am wondering how much of a bummer it will be for me, or if it is the difference between a village (which I'd prefer anyways, honestly) and a town, or if the 250 cap is very limiting.

I kinda want the Switch 1 version, but I don't know how much of a bummer the smaller town size will be.

On the other hand, I like small towns better than large cities anyways... But I know the difference is pretty huge between the Switch 1, 2 and PS5 versions.

@JumpingJackson This one hundred percent boils down to nostalgia. Ill-fitting artwork and this era, simply warm fuzzy feelings for me. Perhaps you hrew up with different tastes and influences, and maybe in a different era.

All three are great,US one is the coolest in my opinion. EU isn't bad but the weakest.

@Spider-Kev Don't judge a book by its cover. And if you happen to like reading books, imagine talking smack about the graphics of a book.

This should not be viewed as a game in the more widely known sense of the word. View it more as a book with rudimentary graphics, and you will be in for a huge treat.

There are a few AI generated vids soing the rounds of "What if a Zelda movie was made in the 60s" or something. They are pretty cool.

This actor looks like what that AI cooked up. So... I guess, really well cast?

Maybe I should download that. Now is as good a time as any to get back to gaming, which has been a WHILE! Still a little bumned that the town max size is smaller on Switch 1, but it probably doesn't matter much. If anything, I need to be more selective in who to allow in my town.

On an unrelated note, to any staff who reads this, there seems to be an issue with Time Extension on mobile, unless it's just my phone, but I can no longer read anything there.

Sure, it's kind of copying Octopath's style, but it's a style I love immensely so I don't care. It's the natural evolution of sprite-based RPGs, as far as I am concerned.

I cannot lie, if I saw that US box art in the store, it would have definitely piqued my interest.

But, young me not knowing anything about Dragonball, would have been even more interested in the Japanese version.

So, I do not hate the US version, it has that NES charm that would have made me very interested in the game. But the Japanese one, along with the European one, has that too, but more.

Pretty amazing, considering its age, that the original beats almost all of these in terms of animation.

But Akira was an AMAZING piece of animation, so much of it looked so realistic, way before 3D could be used.

Games like this one has the unfortunate effect of making me feel too guilty to return after a long absence, so I doubt I will return.

I really enjoyed Arceus, my main criticism beng it was the perfect excuse for a town building experience, which it didn't have.

That would have made it an 11/10 game for me.

@Anti-Matter Yeah, but I don't like that. Instant turn-off. How you dislike gory action games, I dislike games that give me time pressure. Without it I would absolutely LOVE this, I am sure.

The game looks amazing, but I cannot stand timed days where every day goes by in minutes. It makes me feel stressed out, and that is exactly what I don't need in a "cozy" game.

But glad the game exists. I am sure a lot of people have a lot of fun with it.

Japan's is better. The lil dude looks just as awesome, cuter compared to US, but equally great, and the rest of the box is just better allround.

@Teksette Except it's probably not even developed to solve all human problems. Maybe some companies have that intent, but most of them created it to solve having to pay people.

I enjoy using AI for certain things, but it's mostly a speedier search engine and idea generator for me. I don't use it to steal labour for my own monetary gain.

@ShieldHero I will admit, I am GUESSING they make money off of it, but why else would a company exist but make money, especially in the tech business.

For the record, I don't have strong feelings against AI. I understand and enjoy its uses, but to be fair, I do see more negatives than positives at the moment.

@dskatter Feel free to be snarky with me, but read along and see I am far from the only one feeling this way. It's obviously good they listen, but it devaluates the cartridge. I can certainly name a game where I wished the dev HAD listened to feedback, but that wasn't a cartridge game.

@Andee Same. With this game, I bought it for my kid, she loves it, so it's not that big of a deal, but I guess I am glad I didn't start it myself yet. I just don't like this practice.

@Bobobiwan When I first saw a movie on Blu Ray on high def, it was the ugliest thing I ever saw. Sure, you could see every pore and every pimple on the main character's face, and there you have it.

Ultra sharp graphics are not necessarily better looking. Maybe the S2 graphichs have an ever so slight wash over them? I prefer that.

I lost touch with RE after 4, played 5 a brief bit, but I feel like they veered into a direction I do not like. I liked the very hard sci fi angle from the first few, and it feels like they went more into a mix of fantasy thrown in, which I already felt in RE4 and didn't particularly like there.

But!! I never played anything beyond a small bit of 5, so correct me if I am wrong, please.

@Polvasti I appreciate the listening, but... one day all we have left is the cartridge, with no way to re-download any post-release updates, and that is sad.

Sure, by then there will be rom sites, and probably definitive editions on newer platforms, but it just doesn't feel right, the way things are organised these days.

Bug fixes are all fine and dandy, but I so wish developers would stop adding new features to already published games. Either take longer dev time, or save it for a sequel or something.
