They revealed thoughts and ideas that the developers felt weren't up to snuff to be released. Creativity means ypu pursue ideas that may end up in the bin because they were not good ideas. That doesn't make them "canon", that makes them ideas that got canned.
It's not game preservation, it's preservation of a digital bin of crumpled up papers, plus private information, which is just plain criminal.
And sure, there can be some value in those tossed ideas for those interested, but it's still up to the company if they want to release them. This is still just theft, plain and simple.
@spottedleaf You absolutely do not need to resort to scalpers. At worst, you will have to wait a day or two before you get yours.
Every single time a game or something was extremeley limited, I would rush in and buy, onlynto find plenty copies gathering dust on the shelf, all but being relegated to the bargain bin.
It's nonsense. You will easily be able to buy a Switch soon!
Went and looked up Fast Fusion on the devs website.
Worst website ever lol!
But the game looks amazing. I completely missed Fast RMX, so I think I will remedy that mistake with Fusion once I get a Switch 2. 4 player couch is great for me with my kids.
I will say, Link was overpowered. His throw move could out of bounds every single character within seconds. It was basically cheating. And I always felt it was a missed opportunity not giving him an all black skin, to mimic Shadow Link. But that's me.
I don't think I ever bothered with the questions of how hard I pressed a button or not, or utilised it in any way, or even knew it existed... Only when running around using the movement stick.
Besides, many of these, even the good ones (Elden Ring) are already in the bargain bin for PS4 and even PS5.
The only downside obviously being that you have to download crap for hours before actually being able to enjoy the games.
I finally gave my gifted PS4 and FF7R a try the other day. First I was annoyed at the incredibly long time it takes to start up the machine, then I was annoyed at the "Achievements" I "achieved" by simply turning on the machine (seriously), only to be greeted by a 53 minute download session before actually being able to play the game.
Call me a Nintendo Fanboy, I like my games plug and play.
I am not super anti though. Most games have a day 1 patch already, patches galore in the future and DLC and whatnot, so it really isn't that different.
It's still Monster Hunter though, and I'm not sure I can get over the ridiculously oversized weapons and whatnot... I might enjoy one of the older entries with my kids when they are on a deep discount again, but it will never be my fave series...
What I am mostly hoping, which probably won't be included, is an option to choose between classic cpu behaviour, and behaviour where every driver is pretty much at the same level of competency, and the ability to remove rubber banding.
I always hated how you already knew right from the beginning which cpu's were going to be in the top.
I want real neck to neck racing. Let me EARN first place.
@Cathalm the camping, plus more importantly the clicks it generates, is the job, I amm guessing.
More power to him though. Honestly, with how things are going, making a :real honest living", ie. a regular job, is starting to become the least viable option.
@MK73DS Yeah, that's one game. And good on them for not patching it. The point still stands for a myriad other games, though. And I don't LIKE the fact that my point stands, mind you. I wish for no patches whatsoever.
Heck, I finally booted up my gifted PS4 today, to finally give the FF7Remake gift a shot, while laying ill in bed. I had to start with a 53 minute download. Made me remember why I never boot up my PS, and made me severely annoyed.
And if a patch for XCX comes up in the next two months or so... point valid +1 or something?
It doesn't matter though. Patches suck, these weird downloads on a cart suck, but they are a minir nuisance all things considered.
@Yoshi3 I get your side too, though.
It's just... the fear of missing out is just too strong. Even if the servers shut down ages from now, a full version will likely have popped up on a successor device.
I had the game, and spent a whopping 1 hour on it. I loved what little I had played, but I got stuck, and... well... no idea what happened to my copy, but this is welcome news!!
@Yoshi3 I could argue that, with plenty of those SD cards, you don't need the servers if you just keep the downloadable part on those. And let's face it, if I still had my NES cartridges, they'd be kinda useless too, as the NES no longer hooks up to the tv and those batteries don't last forever either. And let's also be real, we love to double dip on our old games when they become available again on newer hardware.
I am not saying it isn't a stupid decision to make these, but they are no more useless than many actual game cartridges, if you factor in eventual decline.
And someone will inevetably dump the final patch online anyways.
Now cloud gaming on the other hand...
Look, I get the annoyance, but it really isn't that big of a deal. The best games will be resold at a later date anyways.
One the one hand, blegh, on the other hand, when was the last time a game didn't reauire you to download a day zero patch at the very least, or get regular updates not present on the cart? So in the end, not that different.
@Anti-Matter Hey, I am not disagreeing that some decisions are stupid, bordering greedy. I for one won't buy a Switch 1 game with upgrade code, or glorified codes in a box. I will speak with my wallet on that front.
Still luxury problems though. I could enjoy myself until the day I die with the games I already have in my possession. Nobody needs new games. We want them, but that is still a luxury problem.
There are far more interesting things to get angry about.
To anyone who's already played it, does it contain foul language? I am interested but if it's like GTA in the script department, I'm not going to get it.
Well... since all the Switch 1 cases are comparably a million times better than that ugly red border on top, it's really a battle between MKW and DKB. My choice is MKW, but DKB is nice too.
@aardvaarkchi Agreed. Baffling that they still keep it. The EU one looks like he needs to go to the toilet real bad and tries to hold it in. US one is amazing!
@Wisestfool There is a fast food item in my country, which right before the change to the Euro cost about 50 eurocent for two at one particular place. They were more expensive before that, most places had them for 50, but that was the lowest. So 25 eurocent per item. They now cost 2,50. Some sell them for 3,00.
So sure, the Switch 2 and their games are more expensive... but it's to be expected. And let's all be honest too. Our backlogs are way more expensive.
@emj2010 Man, I always k ew Denkark was expensive compared to the Netherlands, but that is a huge difference. 510 for Mario Kart bundle here. 470 for thee regular one.
@tdub154420 They should add all of the racers from that game in here as well.
If you are going to call it Mario Kart World, you should add all the world in there. Now, maybe not make it the kart version of Smash Bros, I kinda disliked Link being in MK8, but DK is part of the Mario World, so by extension so are Diddy's racers.
I guess people are still glued to the Direct, because so few comments, haha.
Well, I look forward to it. Wondering about the open world, though... racing is fun when it is frantic. If we're all taking different routes you might as well drive alone.
It sounds like a given, but then again, I wouldn't hold my hopes up for any particular game.
Let's be honest here. Nintendo could've thrown a huge wad of cash towards everyone and just dump every single NES and SNES game ever released on NSO within a few months. Instead we get these IV drips with such random titles that really don't do too much for anyone.
Then again, each and every publisher could've just picked up their own catalogue and release it as well. You'd think they'd care a bit more about their legacy, but everyone is just min-maxing their profits...
@Durians Thanks for the replies. I don't think I will go for it though. I simply lack the time and mental room to dive into a game such as this, masterpiece or not.
And like I said, I never really liked the whole aesthetic. I remember feeling absolutely nothing for the characters. They didn't strike me as characters I wanted to know more about. So... I guess it's just not for me.

Wow. Just wow.

Re: Mario Kart World Brings Back Another Fan-Favourite Mode
I would've liked to have seen a Cops and Robbers, but in the open world, with a designated finish line for the robbers to reach, a bit like in GTA.

If you can run over Goombas and whatnot, it's basically...
Mario Karmageddon!

That sounds like a lot of fun! I am GAME!
Re: CD Projekt Red Coy On Witcher 3 Upgrade For Switch 2
Never played it before, and chances are very high I would finally give it a go if it were to release on Switch 2.
But I am not in a hurry, and neither should they be.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Survival Kids (GBC)
I thought the character on the US one was a girl. I do like the posing and the adventurous feel of the middle composition.
But EU wins, as it features both characters.

I spent FAR too much time on Soul Calibur.
I will say, Link was overpowered. His throw move could out of bounds every single character within seconds. It was basically cheating. And I always felt it was a missed opportunity not giving him an all black skin, to mimic Shadow Link. But that's me.
His move made the challenges easy though.

So... no problem for me either way.

Re: Talking Point: Does Switch 2 Have Nintendo's Best Launch Line-Up Ever?
Seeing the launch line-up for WiiU made me wonder why it ended up being so unsuccesful, because that is SOME line-up!
I was especially surprised to see Wipeout on there, until I clicked on the link.

Re: The Switch 2 Scalpers Are Already Out In Force
I do not get this.
Every time a game or console wasnselling out like mad, I would walk into the nearest toy store, and there would be stock a plenty.
I'vee seen folks fork over a 1000 bucks on a book that I could still buy at the local game store.
It baffles me.
Just don't buy from them. You can wait a few weeks. There will be more.

A lot of anger and "Now I will buy less games" when you guys probably already have a backlog that could cost a year of continuous gaming to clear.
Luxury problems.

As for coloration, on the Chun Li comparison, I actually prefer the PS4 one. Looks more natural.
Re: Konami Appears To Be Releasing Suikoden I & II HD Remaster On Switch 2

Re: Nvidia: Switch 2 Has "10x The Graphics Performance Of The Nintendo Switch"

I sometimes feel I've hardly scratched the surface of games on this generation... I hardly have time to get invested in games these days...
Re: Mario Kart World's Character Select Screen Teases Absolutely Huge Roster
Now if all of them raced all at the same time, that would be even more mental!! But I am happy with the 24 that you have to race now.
Not thrilled about the same character, different outfit approach though. That doesn't make sense, but that is nitpicking a bit.
Re: Donkey Kong Country Artist Shares His Thoughts On Kong's New Design
@TenEighty Agreed! It feels more like a Mario Odyssey than a Donkey Kong. I would've preferred a DKC-esque world myself.
But I am not really the target audience so no skin off my back.
Re: Yep, Metroid Prime 4's Box Art For Switch 2 Is... Corrupted
@Olliemar28 Right? I'd like to think you guys have some more reach than little old us.
While you're at it, tell Square Enix to fix the multiplayer in FF:CC Remaster. I am still sad over that.
Re: Yep, Metroid Prime 4's Box Art For Switch 2 Is... Corrupted
Make it a Box Art Brawl and send the results to Nintendo. Let them know what a dumb decision this is.
Re: ICYMI: Nintendo Is Hosting Another Direct Later This Month

Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Confirmed For Nintendo Switch 2
So that is episode 3 out of 4 of the current saga? I like that. Better than entirely new stories every time.
@Lizuka Guess different strokes for different folks, huh?
Re: The Switch 2's Screen Isn't OLED, But It Will Support 1080p/120fps Gameplay
Thumbsticks look bigger. That is more important to me. The Switch 1 joycons are horrible. Thumbsticks are far too small.
Re: Elden Ring Coming To Switch 2
Haven't played it yet but heard good things. This might be my ticket. I do have a PS4, but have never used it... so...
Which reminds me, my kids got a CD stuck in it. Maybe I should fix that for them.
Re: 'Mario Kart World' Looks Absolutely Awesome In Debut Switch 2 Trailer
I guess people are still glued to the Direct, because so few comments, haha.
Well, I look forward to it. Wondering about the open world, though... racing is fun when it is frantic. If we're all taking different routes you might as well drive alone.
But yeah, looking forward to it.
