Re: Nintendo's On A Mission To Unmask The Pokémon 'Teraleak' Hacker

Daniel36

Wow. Just wow.

They didn't reveal interesting lore, people!!

They revealed thoughts and ideas that the developers felt weren't up to snuff to be released. Creativity means ypu pursue ideas that may end up in the bin because they were not good ideas. That doesn't make them "canon", that makes them ideas that got canned.

It's not game preservation, it's preservation of a digital bin of crumpled up papers, plus private information, which is just plain criminal.

And sure, there can be some value in those tossed ideas for those interested, but it's still up to the company if they want to release them. This is still just theft, plain and simple.

Re: Fans Fight Back Against Nintendo Switch 2 Scalpers

Daniel36

@spottedleaf You absolutely do not need to resort to scalpers. At worst, you will have to wait a day or two before you get yours.

Every single time a game or something was extremeley limited, I would rush in and buy, onlynto find plenty copies gathering dust on the shelf, all but being relegated to the bargain bin.

It's nonsense. You will easily be able to buy a Switch soon!

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Dives Into GameCube Emulation For The Switch 2

Daniel36

I spent FAR too much time on Soul Calibur.

I will say, Link was overpowered. His throw move could out of bounds every single character within seconds. It was basically cheating. And I always felt it was a missed opportunity not giving him an all black skin, to mimic Shadow Link. But that's me.

His move made the challenges easy though.

Re: "We MUST Resist Buying These Game-Key Releases", Says GamesMaster Host

Daniel36

Yeah, I'm good...

Besides, many of these, even the good ones (Elden Ring) are already in the bargain bin for PS4 and even PS5.

The only downside obviously being that you have to download crap for hours before actually being able to enjoy the games.

I finally gave my gifted PS4 and FF7R a try the other day. First I was annoyed at the incredibly long time it takes to start up the machine, then I was annoyed at the "Achievements" I "achieved" by simply turning on the machine (seriously), only to be greeted by a 53 minute download session before actually being able to play the game.

Call me a Nintendo Fanboy, I like my games plug and play.

I am not super anti though. Most games have a day 1 patch already, patches galore in the future and DLC and whatnot, so it really isn't that different.

Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Mario Kart World Are In

Daniel36

What I am mostly hoping, which probably won't be included, is an option to choose between classic cpu behaviour, and behaviour where every driver is pretty much at the same level of competency, and the ability to remove rubber banding.

I always hated how you already knew right from the beginning which cpu's were going to be in the top.

I want real neck to neck racing. Let me EARN first place.

Re: Switch 2 Game-Key Cards Aren't Tied To Nintendo Accounts

Daniel36

@MK73DS Yeah, that's one game. And good on them for not patching it. The point still stands for a myriad other games, though. And I don't LIKE the fact that my point stands, mind you. I wish for no patches whatsoever.

Heck, I finally booted up my gifted PS4 today, to finally give the FF7Remake gift a shot, while laying ill in bed. I had to start with a 53 minute download. Made me remember why I never boot up my PS, and made me severely annoyed.

And if a patch for XCX comes up in the next two months or so... point valid +1 or something?

It doesn't matter though. Patches suck, these weird downloads on a cart suck, but they are a minir nuisance all things considered.

@Yoshi3 I get your side too, though.

It's just... the fear of missing out is just too strong. Even if the servers shut down ages from now, a full version will likely have popped up on a successor device.

Re: The Switch 2 Scalpers Are Already Out In Force

Daniel36

I do not get this.

Every time a game or console wasnselling out like mad, I would walk into the nearest toy store, and there would be stock a plenty.

I'vee seen folks fork over a 1000 bucks on a book that I could still buy at the local game store.

It baffles me.

Just don't buy from them. You can wait a few weeks. There will be more.

Re: Switch 2 Game-Key Cards Aren't Tied To Nintendo Accounts

Daniel36

@Yoshi3 I could argue that, with plenty of those SD cards, you don't need the servers if you just keep the downloadable part on those. And let's face it, if I still had my NES cartridges, they'd be kinda useless too, as the NES no longer hooks up to the tv and those batteries don't last forever either. And let's also be real, we love to double dip on our old games when they become available again on newer hardware.

I am not saying it isn't a stupid decision to make these, but they are no more useless than many actual game cartridges, if you factor in eventual decline.

And someone will inevetably dump the final patch online anyways.

Now cloud gaming on the other hand...

Look, I get the annoyance, but it really isn't that big of a deal. The best games will be resold at a later date anyways.

Re: Opinion: A Few Too Many Questions & Unwelcome Surprises Are Taking The Shine Off The Switch 2 Reveal

Daniel36

@Anti-Matter Hey, I am not disagreeing that some decisions are stupid, bordering greedy. I for one won't buy a Switch 1 game with upgrade code, or glorified codes in a box. I will speak with my wallet on that front.

Still luxury problems though. I could enjoy myself until the day I die with the games I already have in my possession. Nobody needs new games. We want them, but that is still a luxury problem.

There are far more interesting things to get angry about.

@Reztobi Preach!!

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Nintendo Switch 2 Special

Daniel36

Well... since all the Switch 1 cases are comparably a million times better than that ugly red border on top, it's really a battle between MKW and DKB. My choice is MKW, but DKB is nice too.

@aardvaarkchi Agreed. Baffling that they still keep it. The EU one looks like he needs to go to the toilet real bad and tries to hold it in. US one is amazing!

Re: Select EU Retailers Are Abandoning Nintendo's Suggested Retail Price For Switch 2 Games

Daniel36

@Wisestfool There is a fast food item in my country, which right before the change to the Euro cost about 50 eurocent for two at one particular place. They were more expensive before that, most places had them for 50, but that was the lowest. So 25 eurocent per item. They now cost 2,50. Some sell them for 3,00.

So sure, the Switch 2 and their games are more expensive... but it's to be expected. And let's all be honest too. Our backlogs are way more expensive.

Re: ICYMI: Nintendo Is Hosting Another Direct Later This Month

Daniel36

@tdub154420 They should add all of the racers from that game in here as well.

If you are going to call it Mario Kart World, you should add all the world in there. Now, maybe not make it the kart version of Smash Bros, I kinda disliked Link being in MK8, but DK is part of the Mario World, so by extension so are Diddy's racers.

Re: Elden Ring Coming To Switch 2

Daniel36

Haven't played it yet but heard good things. This might be my ticket. I do have a PS4, but have never used it... so...

Which reminds me, my kids got a CD stuck in it. Maybe I should fix that for them.

Re: Rumour: GameCube Revival Planned For Nintendo Switch Online

Daniel36

It sounds like a given, but then again, I wouldn't hold my hopes up for any particular game.

Let's be honest here. Nintendo could've thrown a huge wad of cash towards everyone and just dump every single NES and SNES game ever released on NSO within a few months. Instead we get these IV drips with such random titles that really don't do too much for anyone.

Then again, each and every publisher could've just picked up their own catalogue and release it as well. You'd think they'd care a bit more about their legacy, but everyone is just min-maxing their profits...

Re: Final Fantasy 9 Remake Hopes Rise As Square Enix Teases Anniversary Projects

Daniel36

@Durians Thanks for the replies. I don't think I will go for it though. I simply lack the time and mental room to dive into a game such as this, masterpiece or not.

And like I said, I never really liked the whole aesthetic. I remember feeling absolutely nothing for the characters. They didn't strike me as characters I wanted to know more about. So... I guess it's just not for me.
