Re: Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma Latest Update Now Live, Here's What's Included

Daniel36

@dskatter Feel free to be snarky with me, but read along and see I am far from the only one feeling this way. It's obviously good they listen, but it devaluates the cartridge. I can certainly name a game where I wished the dev HAD listened to feedback, but that wasn't a cartridge game.

@Andee Same. With this game, I bought it for my kid, she loves it, so it's not that big of a deal, but I guess I am glad I didn't start it myself yet. I just don't like this practice.

Re: Poll: Will You Play Resident Evil Requiem In First-Person Or Third-Person?

Daniel36

I lost touch with RE after 4, played 5 a brief bit, but I feel like they veered into a direction I do not like. I liked the very hard sci fi angle from the first few, and it feels like they went more into a mix of fantasy thrown in, which I already felt in RE4 and didn't particularly like there.

But!! I never played anything beyond a small bit of 5, so correct me if I am wrong, please.

Re: Are You "Unsure" About Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade For Switch 2? Don't Worry, There'll Be A Demo

Daniel36

My son bought me the first one for PS4. Very sweet of him. Game looked beautiful, sure, but it wasn't for me. The original wasn't my favourite FF to begin with, I hated all the swearing and cussing, which they decided to up even further in this one.

Maybe if that wasn't present, I may have loved it. Even then, I think the feeling the original gave me topped the remake.

I also never played any of the other games, AC, BC, CC, etc.

Re: Review: Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - An Excellent Port Of A Timeless Classic

Daniel36

I went to check the cutscenes from the PSP version, and while they are lovely, I am actually not as sad as I had expected to be that they were cut. They are reslly nice, but theu also kind of not gel with the game's graphics as much as I had thought.

Anyways, this will NOT be a day one for me. I have been burned too often now. Bought Unicorn Overlord the minute I saw another copy in the wild after they were completely sold out EVERYWHERE, only to find them deeply discounted a few weeks later. Won't make that mistake again.

Re: Nickelodeon Splat Pack Revives Multiple SNES Titles In One Retro Collection

Daniel36

@GamerGrandpa Yeah, the Netherlands did its own thing, I guess... especially back then. Nowadays we get easy access to everythimg with Netflix, Prime, you name it, and digital tv gives us a few international channels too, but back then we didn't have that many channels, so we got whatever was probably the cheapest or most promising programs to air. We did have Cartoon Network in the 90s, surprisingly enough.

Re: Nickelodeon Splat Pack Revives Multiple SNES Titles In One Retro Collection

Daniel36

@GoproGO I had to look it up. Spongebob began airing in my country in 2002, but not yet on a Nickelodeon channel. So while I may have had the chance to see the logo in the cartoon, it wouldn't be shown full screen. So I wouldn't have known Spongebob to be a Nickelodeon affair. Same with Rugrats, which was definitely aired in our country mid-90s, but not on a dedicated channel, instead on our BBC-equivalent channels.

The Nickelodeon channel has a very confusing timeline here, with digital channels and timeslots galore.

Best I could find was that I personally would have only gotten into easy contact with it around 2015. Before that it was either on small timeslots on niche channels, or not even available to me through my provider of coice.

I am sure I would've heard the name by then though, as I was online a lot, so I guess I would've known the name and its associated brands through online exposure, but definitely not as a mainstay in our household.

Re: Feature: "The Bigger A Fan You Are...The More Averse You Are To Making Changes" - Final Fantasy Tactics Interview

Daniel36

@Ulysses Do the Ivalice worlds differ? I would one hundred percent say they are not in the same world. I am sure there are people who will disagree and place them in different eras of the same world, but stylistically they are just so far removed from one another. Any hints of them being related are fortunately locked behind optional sidequests that I simply don't pursue.

So everyone can safely disagree with me and you should just accept whatever lore you feel most comfortable with. I personally loathe what is now referred to as isekai stories, people being whisked away to a completely different world, so I choose to regard the GBA game as non-canon to this one, and any optional paths, DLC or else that introduce different worlds to this game, I will simply not pursue, to keep the experience a pure one for myself.

I am sure if you ask 10 people who worked on this very game, they will give you at least 3 completely different answers to the question, so... Just choose what you like.

Re: Review: Bubsy In: The Purrfect Collection (Switch) - Limited Run Cleans Out The Kitty Litter

Daniel36

@FlyingDunsparce You raise an excellent point. If one good game is in there and would have been sold seperately, score it as the rest being bonus. Unless the rest being there increases the price of the product, then it might be lower as well...

Anyways, I see others have continued the discussion in a lot of ways and right now I don't have the time to read all, but from the small parts I am reading, I seem to agree with most people here.

Anyways, I am unfortunately too busy to get into it, as much as I enjoy this kind of banter.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Forsaken (N64)

Daniel36

Had to watch a trailer to remember I played it. Vaguely remember it, but it looks like I probably rnjoyed it back in the day.

Both art is poor. I like the face but not the way the title looks on the US one, and the title is better on the EU one but othernthan that extremely bland.

So I will have to go US.

Re: Round Up: 6 Switch 1 & 2 Games We Played At PAX - Here's What We Thought

Daniel36

@seinfeldfanatic Everyone, dude. It's not like it's secret information what platforms the game releases on.

So you don't have to tell SE to F themselves based on platform availability. You can, however, be annoyed by the S2 game key cart or the fact that the bigger platforms have a higher cap on town buildings.

And before you go "says who?", it's in the other OT 0 article on this site, and undoubtedly elsewhere, if you just do a quick search on the internet.

Re: Square Enix Details Octopath Traveler 0's Switch 2 Performance And Resolution

Daniel36

The difference in town size is a rather sad fact. Obviously we don't know enough of what the game will be to know whether double the buildings will mean double the fun or not, but still... Kinda sad.

I don't have the latest gen consoles, and I had my eyes set on the Switch 1 version, if I was going to buy it. Now, with this news, I may decide to forego it. OT1 was my absolute fave game of this past generation (even if I never managed to fully finish it), and OT2 was wonderful too. I liked 1 better, but still, it's a series that I really enjoyed, and I LOVE town building, but now I might decide to not even bother.

Not that I have any time for videogames these days anyways...

Re: '007 First Light' Deep Dive Gameplay Is Coming Later This Week

Daniel36

A younger James Bond... as opposed to... what? The now 100 year old James Bond, since he was an adult in '60s and is still going strong...

No, I personally decided to subscribe to the theory that James Bond a Time Lord, except he doesn't have a time traveler device...

And nobody can convince me otherwise.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Harvest Moon (SNES)

Daniel36

Voting on "Would I buy this going purely for box art?", which I did a lot back in the SNES days (including this game) and it has to be Europe. It is mysterious and screams that you will be in for a treat!

And people comment on how the EU art doesn't convey the game's vibe, and I will disagree. The only thing is the farmer feels like a silhouette of an older man. And sure, the game is more animé, but the box art doesn't detract from the vibe.

Sure, the others have the animé characters, but the farmland graphics are so boring.

Loved this game. Good memories.

Re: Stardew Valley Creator Announces Version 1.7 Update

Daniel36

@Picola-Wicola This is exactly the reason why I won't play this. 10 minutes just to get to the front door, an hour just to walk to the shed. It makes no sense and it makes me stressed.

Should I ever build a similar game (I won't, but... you know...) you can just select when you want to head into the next part of a day. Morning - Midday - Evening, take your sweet time on each.

Re: No Man's Sky 'Voyagers' Update Lets You Design And Build Your Own Spaceship

Daniel36

@Hoshiko If you were a kid right now, the sense of wonder wouldn't be there. Had this been released as is in the 90s, sure, it would have blown our collective minds. But these days? They don't care for graphics. My kids are only playing Roblox, even though I have a pretty extensive library of games. They don't care. Roblox is easier. Ugly as can be, but easier.

Re: Rumour: Another Bethesda Game Is Landing On Switch 2, It's Claimed

Daniel36

@Regelion1 What? I think you greatly misinterpreted my statement, because I wasn't saying the game is bad, just that the person I responded to can like games others deem bad and dislike games others deem good. I didn't mean Starfield is a bad game, but if it was, people are still allowed to like it.

I probably could have worded it a little better, but that is what I meant.
